The Loretto was such a beautiful event space, and it had everything that was needed for our wedding. The bride and groom suites were perfect for our large wedding party, with plenty of lighting! The chapel and reception space held all of our guests, and had such gorgeous details!
My Fiancé and I held our Marriage ceremony and reception at the Loretto on May 20th, 2023, and we simply cannot begin to express how amazing our experience was. First point is the location, the chapel is beautiful, with stained glass windows, gorgeous pillars and white covered seats, chandeliers, and gold accents on the ceiling, all contributing to a more beautiful ceremony than I could have ever imagined. For the bridal parties, both the bride and grooms’ side have these amazing suites to hang out and get ready in while anxiously awaiting the start of the festivities. The grand ballroom where we held our reception was as equally beautiful as the chapel, and it was all prepared and decorated beautifully. The building itself is gorgeous, with so many wonderful locations for wedding photographs. There is a brilliant and elegant marble staircase and balcony at the entryway which made for some wonderful 'first look' photos, and the outside of the near 120-year-old building has been expertly maintained to provide a great backdrop for any outdoor photographs you may want (and you will want to take many!)
John Koop, the coordinator for the Loretto, was instrumental to making our big day a huge success. He was kind, friendly, had a great sense of humor, and extremely helpful and professional from the get-go. He provided numerous suggestions for vendors, such as Brancato's Catering - which we went with and was a perfect choice. John's help continued throughout the planning process, with decorating ideas, budget planning help, and regular check-ins to ensure we were dotting our i's and crossing our t's.
John's specialty, however, was the wedding weekend itself. We were extremely impressed as he walked us through the ceremony rehearsal, he knew every beat a wedding ceremony should take, down to where we should pause during our walk down the aisle, and where we should turn to make sure the photographer got the best photos. He made certain that every single detail the day of the ceremony was taken care of, and that we weren't bothered by anything on our big day, we were just able to focus on us, and our family and friends. His work was instrumental to making sure our wedding operated like a well-oiled machine.
As with every wedding, a few small unpredictable hiccups arose, but each time, John worked quickly and resolved each hiccup before it became a problem - he ensured that we didn't have to worry about a single thing on our big day. I cannot stress enough how absolutely impressed we were with his ability to organize the entire show in the background. John was certainly one the greatest aspects about holding our event at the Loretto. I absolutely recommend any Bride and Groom wishing to have a perfect wedding day, hold their wedding at the Loretto. John Koop will do everything he can make sure the best day of your life, is indeed, the best day of your life.
Our daughter was married at Loretto Events on October 23, 2020. We had decided on the space in January, 2019 while it was under construction. It was a leap of faith and well worth it! The chapel was already lovely, and the bridal room, grooms room, and reception area turned out beautifully. We began working with John Koop at Loretto Events with an original wedding date in April, 2020. John was wonderful to work with, helping us through all the changes that needed to happen due to Covid….and did so with a wonderful sense of humor. Once things were set, we were able to enjoy the wedding day knowing things were in the very capable hands of John. As my daughter said over and over that night, “Everything is perfect….just perfect.”
I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Loretto! We held our ceremony and reception there on 9/26/2020. It was so BEAUTIFUL!! Our coordinator, John, was the absolute best! He was amazing to work with and handled even the most unpleasant situations with grace and kindness. We are forever grateful.
Our daughter was married on 9/12/20 at the Loretto Events in KCMO. We shopped for venues in February before the Covid shutdown. The Loretto had just undergone a huge renovation and knocked our socks off. It had everything that we were looking for-an indoor chapel for the ceremony, a separate reception area (no turning rooms necessary) and it is close to hotels and things to do for our out of town guests. The venue actually has TWO separate reception areas to choose from, each with a different look. We chose the one that had a more traditional look with a separate bar area. It was fantastic. There also is a bridal suite and a groom’s suite that we all got ready in. Our photographer took some great pictures in all the unique spots around the historical building.
They even have a Day-of Coordinator. John Koop has been in the event coordinating business for years and was a wealth of knowledge and had many contacts for vendors for us to use.
The day of the wedding was flawless and everything that I asked John and his staff to do was done. They were very professional and courteous and very helpful. John was very aware that it was our wedding and our vision and he did everything to make it happen. The best thing about John is that he makes this process fun and keeps it lighthearted.
when I looked at it on the website I was very impressed with the setting
The Loretto was the most perfect venue for our wedding! Brian went above and beyond to help me throughout the planning process and the day of the wedding. The Loretto will always hold a special place in my heart and I am so thankful I chose to have our wedding there. Brian, THANK YOU for everything! You are the best!
This venue was absolutely beautiful! Brian is so nice and helpful. The pricing was an unbelievably good deal considering everything it included. You get to use a lot of the items already in the venue too. I loved my wedding at the Loretto, it was perfect!
We toured a number of different venues for our wedding. We went to see the Loretto because the building is so lovely. We chose the Loretto because the staff were so easy to work with. Susan and Brian had so many helpful suggestions and creative ideas. Our wedding was great!
We did a lot of research when we were planning our wedding. I saw one negative review for the Loretto and a whole lot of positive ones. After waiting tables in college I know sometimes when people complain so loudly, it's usually because they were a lousy customer. I'm so glad I called them and chose the Loretto for our wedding. I can't imagine more professional people to work with.
I just recommended the Loretto to a friend of mine. I had my wedding and reception there almost two years ago, and it was such a wonderful day. I know that's because of the hard work and organization that the people there put into it. They really seemed to care about making the day special and as perfect as possible.
I went into the day expecting something to go wrong. It didn't. The reception hall was set up exactly like we had discussed, the caterer we picked from their list was perfect, and everyone had a great time. By the way, it was so nice that The Loretto provides a fully vetted list of caterers. This made our due diligence so much easier. I think the caterer we used has served The Loretto since 1999! Plus, the Loretto is so beautiful. The chapel is a real gem, and the everybody there was absolutely professional and helped keep us organize a perfect day and within our budget.
Our March wedding was beautiful at the Loretto! The chapel is incredible and the Grand Ballroom was perfect for our 215+ wedding.
Brian and Susan were very kind and professional. They answered all of our questions and met with us on several occasions to discuss the venue.
The venue was a bit on the pricey side after their extra charges (which are clearly stated in the contract), so tack and about a grand to the venue total.
Overall, this is the perfect all-in-one for a wedding ceremony and reception!
We had a great experience using The Loretto for my daughter's wedding. She had the perfect fairy tale wedding that she always wanted! Brian was easy to work with and very accommodating. Anytime someone needed to come in to look at the space prior to the wedding he made arrangements for us. It was so nice having the ceremony and reception at the same place. I didn't have to worry about anything. I cannot say enough how pleased I was!
The Loretto was an amazing venue with a wonderful staff. Brian and Susan are awesome to work with and will answer all of your questions! Everything ran so smooth and the food vendors you can choose from are chosen for a reason. They know what they are doing and know the place inside and out. I would recommend this place to anyone. We wanted a place that could accommodate our guests for both a ceremony and a reception. Some venues will flip the room and make your guests leave or go to a small holding place. Not with the Loretto you can have everything in one location without having to flip anything. There is also plenty of parking and it is very safe.
I wanted to have a church wedding and this was the perfect site with to have both a great wedding and reception. We were very happy!
I'm sure many brides say this - but my wedding was absolutely PERFECT - and The Loretto was a big reason for that! The Loretto is a beautiful venue where we held both the ceremony and reception. The chapel is gorgeous and the grand ballroom is a perfect space for a reception - it has 2 semi-separate areas so you can have a cocktail hour in one area then open the doors into the main area with tables and dance floor. Everything went seamlessly. Brian (at the Loretto) did everything he could to make our vision a reality! We live out of state and had to communicate mainly via phone and e-mail - he made sure we were comfortable with everything and helped so much leading up to and at the wedding (he was also our photographer - AMAZING, by the way - Zumare Images - but that's another review). Definitely recommend this venue to any future Birde and Groom! :)
Our plan was to have a morning wedding, followed by a brunch reception, and we really did not want to have to "flip" a room. With the chapel and two different reception areas available, the Loretto worked perfectly for us. At first, I was a little worried we were just another couple to the owners because things felt all business (which I recognize the wedding industry is a business), but I can tell you, without a doubt, Brian and Susan very much care about their clients and making sure the day/experience goes as smoothly as possible. We actually hired Susan to be our day-of coordinator, and she was phenomenal. She clearly has a lot of experience, and it showed. My brother had a lot of responsibilities throughout the day, and I know she was instrumental in making him more comfortable and getting him through, not to mention, our wedding went off without a hitch. I have absolutely no regrets using the Loretto, and I would recommend the venue to anyone. It's a beautiful place, and we were so lucky to find it. Keep this in mind as well - there are some restrictions you might not find with other venues (ie, you will only have four catering companies to choose from, there are only certain color flower petals your flower girl can drop, etc), but there are SO many decisions that come with planning a wedding - paring down the number of decisions you have to make can be a blessing in disguise (it definitely was for me). Besides, we got a ton of compliments on our caterer and loved them as well, so it's not like the choices you have are bad. Thank you to Brian and Susan - we couldn't have had a better day!
(I will take this opportunity to suggest you NOT use Salon Beyond just down the street - they almost ruined the day for me by being late to my appointment, which made me and my ladies late, and they might end up ruining my pictures because I hated my hair with no time to fix it - another story for another time.)
my husband did not get married at the loretto, however, we had our cocktail hour and reception in the space. The chapel with its stained glass windows is a beautiful space for a cocktail hour and I highly recommend using that area if at tall possible while planning! Photo tip- and if you stand on the balcony, with your photographer shooting from down below, your pictures will mimic William & Kates!!
The Loretto is very impressive and so clean. My wedding is in a couple months and I am so pleased thus far with The Loretto. The staff is very experienced and very helpful. Every element of our experience to date has been great. They do what they say they will do, and every policy is very clear. It is a huge building and it must be a lot to maintain, so I totally understand and respect all of their policies. I truly feel that they have our best interest in mind at all times. We are so excited for the big day!
Fabulous! The first day I set foot in The Loretto I knew it was where I wanted to get married. My husband and I travel a lot, and the location of The Loretto was perfect for us and our guests. Since I travel 80% of the time, finding The Loretto helped with my planning exponentially. Everyone we came in contact with at The Loretto was friendly, helpful, and really made us feel welcome. We found the entire process of booking The Loretto to be very transparent and easy. Everything was explained to us in great detail, and if we had any questions they were answered without hesitation. The Loretto did everything they promised to do and then some. We loved how simple the pricing structure is, basically one price for everything that is essential. We rented chair covers from them, and that was so easy. When we arrived the day of the wedding they were already out and looked gorgeous. There are a few optional rentals like sound equipment, projectors, etc… and that is all laid out for you when you book in a nice spreadsheet. I don’t see how anyone could misunderstand any of their policies. One of our guests had a diabetic reaction, too much to drink I think, and the police officer had an ambulance on site in less than 10 minutes. We very impressed and so glad The Loretto scheduled the police officer for us. They really have thought of everything. I wish we could do it again!
We had our wedding at The Loretto and we loved it. My husband and I are both attorneys, and we were most impressed with how clearly all the policies were defined in The Loretto’s collateral and the actual contract itself. Somehow we found time to look at several event sites, and we consistently ran into inexperienced sales staff and murky policies. We read contracts all day and rarely sign contracts without negotiating changes. We read and signed The Loretto contract in 15 minutes with no alterations. Brian explained everything and answered all of our questions. Going into the event we knew exactly what was expected of us, The Loretto, the caterer, and all of our vendors to ensure a seamless, successful event. Most of all we appreciated how well the event wrap up was executed. The caterer boxed up all the left overs and cleaned up the dining room for us. We made sure the DJ made a last call at 11:00 and stopped playing music at 11:30, and then the bar closed at 11:30. This gave us 30 minutes to gather our things and make our way to the cars. We had a lot of drinkers, and it was a huge comfort to see the police officer outside when everyone was leaving. She encouraged a few of our guests to leave their cars and call a taxi. We felt very pampered, and we fully endorse The Loretto for anyone wanting an affordable, elegant event. It is obvious that this venue has been operational for many years, it really ran like clockwork.
Not recommended. Unprofessional as well as hidden fees. Manager & police office rude to us and our guests. PO not needed but REQUIRED at your expense. Also there are so speakers in the second room of the Grand Ballroom so you cannot hear.
I recently had my ceremony and reception (large room) at The Loretto. It is a gorgeous place and the chapel is amazing. Unfortunately we found that the service was not up to par :( The largest issue we had (among several) was at the end of the evening. The owner was very nice to work with up to the wedding, however their manager on site that evening was very rude to myself, my new husband, the wedding party and my family. We paid WAY too much to be treated the way we were. Long story short, you have the room until midnight and you are asked to have everything out by then...if you go over, there is an extra charge. We would have had everything out on time except for the fact the police officer (that they forced us to pay for and have on site the entire event) would not allow us back in the building to get our items. The manager was threating my father with additional fees to be let back in (not even midnight yet) to get our centerpieces and I was even asked to leave while trying to gather my things from the bridal suite. I should clarify that I don't mind being asked nicely to exit or to discuss their concerns, however they were threatening and speaking over us - we had no say in what was going on. This happened in front of guests and our family and friends. Due to this, we were not cleaned up until 12:18am after arguing to get back in the building (they only let my dad and husband back in so picking up took way longer). The final result ended up with my parents having to pay an additional rental fee and another hour for the police officer... yup, for 18 additional minutes they caused us. This place nearly ruined my reception! If you do choose them, my advice would be to watch for the nickel and diming that goes on - keep in mind he will add a fee to EVERYTHING!
Other issues:-hard to get a hold of owner and staff
-our reception set up was incorrect and they refused to add a table they promised
-they advertise to sit up to 300, but only fit 215
-manager on site was rude to vendors, including the cater
-small selection of vendors on their "approved" list
I loved the fact that the Loretto was so inclusive. It really limited the additional vendors we needed to contract. Susan and Bryan were so helpful. The contract did have a lot of limitations but in the end it made the decision making process so much easier.
I absolutely love this place. I had my ceremony and reception there and it was just perfect. The staff was wonderful and easy to contact with all of my questions. I would highly recommend them!!
The Loretto's in-house photographer (this company doesn't have to be used if you book the Loretto as your venue, but I highly recommend them!), Zumare Images, gave us a great value for our money. We had so many beautiful pictures to look through after our wedding! Monica spent time with us girls while we were getting ready and was able to capture a photograph of me winking that I didn't even realize I had done! During the reception the photographers were so good at being able to capture candid moments without being intrusive- very professional. They understood our theme without prior discussion and incorporated that into the individual photo sessions of us as bride and groom before the ceremony.
