Peggy was some of the best money I spent on my wedding. She helped provide resources for finding vendors (and recommended the BEST florist), checked in with me and gave me great checklists to track everything of what I needed, gave good suggestions and was the best day of coordinator. She setup decor (lantern centerpieces, signs, pictures, favors, etc), took down decor, came to rehearsal and helped coordinate everyone for that and the ceremony the morning of. She made sure we were everywhere we needed to be at the right time and her husband/assistant held our drinks while we were taking photos so we could sip in between takes. She helped me blot mustard out of my dress with a tide pen and helped pin me back into my gown that the zipper broke multiple times that day. She also packed up all the decor back into my parents' van at the end of the night and coordinated donating the extra flowers for me. She made sure I didn't have to worry about anything and could just enjoy my day. Her price is super reasonable for the average bride but her help was priceless. Definitely reach out to peggy.
Peggy was AMAZING! She was such a great support throughout the whole planning process. I hired Peggy as a day-of planner and was able to call her with any questions I had leading up to the big day. She was very responsive and lovely to work with. On the day of she was so helpful and made sure the plans and aesthetic I had been fostering actually came to life. She contacted all the other vendors before hand to make sure they were on the same page and made sure the evening went smoothly. I HIGHLY recommend Peggy!!!!
My sister got married before me, and after her wedding, my sister and mom were so impressed that they told us that we needed to hire Peggy again because she was so helpful. We are so glad we hired her too!
Although we hired her as a day-of coordinator, she was involved in planning meetings with our venue prior to our wedding day. She asked questions that we never would have though of to ask, and really made sure that our vision was being met.
The day of the wedding she helped make sure every detail was being handled during the day. She also made sure that everything was neatly packed after the wedding. She really made sure our wedding was stress free.
She is highly professional and is wonderful to work with. We highly recommend using her services!
Peggy did a great job as our day of coordinator. We hired her about a few months out and she was such a support in the weeks leading up to the wedding. She helped me keep track of everything I still needed to figure out and made me feel much more confident heading into the big day.
Peggy coordinated with all our vendors and directed the flow the day of, including a last minute rain change (5 minutes before the ceremony started ) to a location that everyone agreed was even more beautiful than our original ceremony setting.
We did several large DIYs including all of our florals and we could not have pulled it off without Peggy. She and her assistant set up all of our bud vases and did a beautiful job decorating the tables and mantelpieces. We are so pleased with how it turned out. She also helped pack them all up at the end of the evening and clean-up was another thing that I was anxious about.
Peggy enabled us (my husband, our families, and me) to focus on celebrating. I cannot recommend her services enough.
Peggy was an amazing help and companion in designing the wedding and during the day of. We met with her countless times throughout the year. The wedding turned out great -- especially the food and the location, which she was intimately familiar with. If I were to make one minor critique, the schedule of the last hour or two of our wedding reception got a bit thrown off due to various hijinks. Not Peggy's fault at all, but maybe she could have moderated my wife's expectations about the precision of our schedule a bit more/wrangled our guests' "surprises" a bit more. Again, overall a fantastic helper, and would 100% hire again for my next large party!
Peggy was wonderful!!! And an absolute pleasure !!! I could not have asked for anyone better ! She made our wedding day ( and everything leading up to) run smooth and made sure I was calm and taken care of the entire day!!! ❤️
Peggy was incredible. Not only was she helpful and super skilled at her job, she calmed our fears and made sure we were always happy and content. Peggy provided useful feedback from the day we first hired her, and was indispensable on the wedding day.
Peggy was my fairy godmother. She made my wedding day absolutely perfect. In fact, it was Peggy that most of my guests commented on! That she was so on top of everything, that she and our florist made the space gorgeous, that she was so kind and attentive. She was so generous with her time and guidance. She was a calming presence, and I would not have been able to have the wedding I did without her. Hiring Peggy was the best decision I made.
Peggy was great to work with both before and during the wedding. She provided suggestions for selecting vendors and assisted with coordinating information and details between the vendors and the venue before and during the event.
On the day of the wedding, she and her assistant were incredibly helpful with setting up, cleaning up, and solving any glitches that arose. I think she has a literal Mary Poppins bag full of helpful things like bandaids and duct tape! She made sure that the bridal party had drinks and food, and overall allowed us to just relax and enjoy the day.
Hiring Peggy was a wonderful decision! We hired Peggy pre-pandemic, and she was helpful and always great to consult with as we were weighing out options and ultimately rescheduled.
Peggy joined the planning calls with our venue, and asked all the right questions we never would
have known to ask. Leading up to the wedding she worked with all of our vendors, and made sure they knew what to do when.
The day of our wedding is where Peggy and her team absolutely go over the top. They set up all of our decorations perfectly all while being present with us, and making sure we had what we needed all day. Her entire team was professional, efficient, and so sweet! Peggy and Chloe even helped fix my dress quickly between dinner and dessert! My mom is still blown away that when we went to get our stuff the next morning, everything was perfectly cleaned and packed up for us.

I was told by a friend years ago that having a day of event coordinator was a must for a wedding. I'm a very organized person so, when my daughter decided to get married in her back yard, I thought I could handle it. Boy, was I wrong. As we got into the planning I realized that my organizational skills would only take me so far and I needed help. I needed someone who has organized a wedding. I spoke with Peggy on the phone and i felt we immediately clicked. She was friendly, helpful and gave us just the right amount of suggestions without trying to hijack our plans. She talked me off the ledge a couple of times when I started to panic. If I texted a question to her, she got back to me within five minutes. She had the ability to look at the setting and think out of the box to help us decorate. She led our rehearsal and helped to calm us down. She gently walked us through all the steps the day of the wedding without being intrusive. Both families really liked her.
When my son gets married we will definitely contact Peggy for help again.
I have so many amazing things to say about Peggy. I originally chose Peggy pre-COVID when were having an event with 160+ people to be our day-of coordinator, however, our plans had changed and we switched to a different venue with about 50 people. Peggy was so helpful in making sure we remembered all the important details of our day before it happened and was so incredibly helpful on the day of. If it weren't for Peggy, my wedding day would have been ruined by one staff member at the venue we chose who was acting as the "venue coordinator". Peggy was SO incredibly professional having to work with the coordinator at the venue that was again SO rude to her, at times yelled at her, and made her feel unwelcomed. Peggy continued to have my best interest in mind to ensure my day was perfect despite the issues she faced. I cannot recommend her enough, seriously! During the meal, she continued to check in on my husband and me and even walked around to every table to get drinks for my guests. She made our day run so smoothly and I was so thankful to have her on my side!!! You will not regret choosing Peggy!
Peggy helped us not just plan our original wedding plan pre-covid, but also swooped in to help our "Plan B" wedding when it became clear that we could not use our original venue on our desired wedding day. Throughout the whole process, Peggy was a reassuring presence. She helped us find venues in our original search, vendors that were fantastic and gave us a general timeline for when to have certain milestones in planning. When it came time to change our plans, she helped us settle on what we were going to do, as it was important for us to keep the same day for the ceremony. She was instrumental in setting up and organizing our guests and arrangements (during a tropical storm no less!) for our socially distant backyard wedding. She put our parents minds at ease and offered helpful suggestions that we hadn't considered. Overall, Peggy is pleasant, caring, resourceful, and a very hard worker. She's very experienced at what she does and we would highly recommend her.
Peggy was amazing!!! If I could give more than five stars I would in a heartbeat. From the moment I reached out to Peggy she was beyond professional and was such a huge help throughout all the wedding planning. I was able to contact her via email, phone, text, etc. and Peggy would respond promptly. My wedding day was amazing and I have Peggy to thank for everything going as smoothly as it did :)

If I could give Peggy 10 stars, I would. We used her as mainly a day of coordinator, but she honestly was so much more. She gave us lots of helpful hints and tips, gave great advice about our vendors, and was overall just an essential part of our day. What can I say - Peggy is the best!!!!! We were married on 12/8 and Peggy made the day extremely seamless for us. Our venue required us to set up and clean up on our own and the last thing I wanted to do is worry about the minutiae on our big day - this led us to Peggy. She was a pro! From the moment we had our first conversation, I was put immediately at ease. From vendor recommendations to calming my nerves when there was snow in the forecast, she was worth every penny. In terms of decoration, we left her to her own creative juices and the venue looked absolutely amazing - even better than my imagination. Additionally, she made sure our night kept moving and that we were always taken care of. Peggy you are a dream! If you are looking for someone to help you navigate your wedding day - Peggy is your gal.
Peggy was honestly my second mother throughout the wedding process. She told me from the get-go that she bases what she does on the bride. I didn't need as much help in the beginning stages, so she would just check in and I would keep her in the loop.
As things got closer, Peggy was my sanity. She came to meetings at the venue, asked questions we didn't think of. confirmed with all of my vendors, and was kind and thoughtful throughout the entire process.
On my wedding day, Peggy made sure everything was set at the church and the venue. Kept everyone calm and on schedule, picked up the flowers for us, and checked in on me throughout the entire day.
My dad was hesitant in getting a wedding planner, but after it was all said and done- he said "getting Peggy was a good idea".
I am so grateful to Peggy and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a wedding planner.

Hiring Peggy was the best move I ever could’ve made! Her calm as well as great ideas made my wedding stress free. I wasn’t sure it was in the budget for me to have a wedding planner, but I decided to go stretch my budget and she was the most valuable vendor of the day. Peggy is very attentive and overall such a great person! We enjoyed our experience with Love on a Shoe String and would absolutely recommend her services!

Wedding planning can be stressful, but Peggy provided us with lots of great advice from her years of experience and she was always willing to listen to our questions and concerns. Peggy is quite simply the best! She helped us plan our son's wedding welcome/rehearsal dinner party. She was a master at transportation, coordinating vendors, sound advice, putting together gift bags and last minute curves! Peggy listened to us and gave us a party that was exactly as we envisioned. Her husband even picked up our friends who arrived late and missed the bus transportation. Our son and daughter in law were so happy as were we. Peggy is worth every penny and a genuinely nice and caring person!
Peggy Hecksher, aside from being a wonderful day of coordinator, is a wonderful person. She was so supportive, kind, creative, and professional. My husband and I cannot say enough about her abilities and commitment to her brides and grooms. She is a woman who truly loves what she does and it shows in her work. Peggy was out in the rain making sure our vision came to life. She decorated our entire venue! She was attentive through out the planning process and the day of our wedding. Peggy made sure my husband and I always had drinks and time to enjoy our reception. Peggy is a wealth of knowledge and experience and is so willing to share her ideas She was always a phone call, email, or text away. I would highly recommend Love on a Shoe String for a day of coordinator. You will not be let down in the slightest.
Our wedding had it all. International intrigue (we were overseas and had to do everything by phone and email with Peggy), family drama (which Peggy helped us figure out the best ways to handle), a difficult wedding venue manager (that Peggy managed to win over and get her to work better with us), last minute drama (we had to find a bartender last minute after the venue we chose changed plans on us), tons of special requests (people coming from out of town looking for babysitting services, elderly relatives will special needs, and dietary restrictions that were less than standard), a small venue for the ceremony (about 30 people), a big venue for the party (almost 200 people), and a pretty disorganised bride and groom. Despite all of the challenges, Peggy was a pro through and through. She never made us feel stressed, kept us on topic, kept balls rolling in terms of the planning, troubleshooted (troubleshot?) issues as they came up, and on the day of we had not a single care in the world! Peggy was there every step of the way - making sure microphones went to the right people for the speeches, even helping a friend who ripped his pants and needed a last minute sewing fix, and helping us make sure the undrunk (undrank?) alcohol at the end of the night didn't disappear so that they next day we could return it for a refund. Really, I'm not sure how we would have made this day work without her.
And that's just the start. Peggy has a tremendous network of professionals that she works with. She really helped us cut through the clutter of options and connect with great people for flowers, photography, make-up, the bus (to shuttle us from the hotel to the party venue), bartenders. She doesn't work on a commission with them, they are just people who are excellent at what they do that she's met over the years and continues to work with because of their high standards.

Peggy was amazing. We hired her with about a month to go before our big day, and in no time at all she was helping us figure out all the last minute decisions I couldn't handle, and being an all-around lovely person to work with.
She was always very responsive to questions, no matter how dumb I thought they were, and she put my mind at ease on the day of that things were happening on time, and with my vision in mind the whole time. And my guests loved having her around.
If I ever getting married again (knock on wood) I would jump on the opportunity to work with Peggy.

Peg was awesome! She made sure the centerpieces and decorations were where they were supposed to be and ran the schedule for the day like clockwork. I loved her own little decorating touches also. She was very helpful giving the bride and groom a third person to talk to about their event. Peg was very familiar with our venue (The Old Mill in Rose Valley) and came recommended. We hired her as a day of planner and we were able to call her anytime with questions prior to the event. So glad I chose her! It was so nice getting hair and makeup done at the hotel while Peggy was setting up at the venue. Totally worth the price. Would not hesitate to choose her again!

Look no further than Peggy at Love on a Shoe String. Initially, I was skeptical about hiring any planner thinking I'd be able to execute an elaborate wedding in 5 weeks, but I'm glad my husband (yay!) and I went with our gut after speaking with Peggy and got her involved. Hiring her was the single best decision we could've made, as it lead to other great decisions that led to a flawlessly executed ceremony and reception. Peggy has charm; she is organized, is attentive, will vouch for your interests with vendors, will be available via phone (and texts and email). You'll realize the value of her work as your big day nears: she'll put you at ease because you'll know that she is working diligently with anyone and everyone involved: the florist, the musicians, the venue, etc. During the day of the ceremony, Peggy (and her terrific and attentive husband Otto) will be invaluable...she'll be hands-on, but not intrusive; she'll take your directions and execute your desires quickly, surreptitiously, and effectively; she'll be as involved as little or as much as you want. Peggy also has impeccable taste: her ideas brought us elegant elements to our wedding: from an area rug where we tied the knot to gorgeous floral arrangements to unique place cards. My husband and I trusted Peggy with one of the biggest days of our lives and we're glad we did! Peggy: we did it! You're the best!
Working with Peggy was amazing from beginning to end, and I wholeheartedly recommend working with her. I didn't know exactly what I was looking for in a coordinator, but after our initial conversation, I felt more at ease about all the last minute details going on. She was great at reaching out to make sure things were going according to schedule, and asked all the questions I hadn't even thought about. When we met earlier for our final venue walk through, she found us a warm and dry place to meet when unexpected rain made our initial plan of outside the venue didn't work out.
For the day of the wedding, she and her assistant showed up and took control, allowing us both to relax and get ready. Everything moved smoothly, even when we decided the morning of to make some changes to our dances. During the entire day, they were both extremely helpful, and our day went perfectly.
Peggy was easily the best investment we made for our wedding. After finding out only a few weeks before our wedding that our venue coordinator wouldn't take care of day-of tasks like decorating, working with vendors, transitioning our place card table to a dessert table, etc., we hired Peggy of Love on a Shoestring. Though we came to her at the last minute and she typically works with brides and grooms throughout the planning process, she met with us to get up to speed on our plans, gave us great advice on some important questions we had, and made us feel very at ease. On our wedding day, Peggy professionally worked with all of our vendors to ensure that everything went smoothly, expertly decorated our venue for us (despite unexpected rain and changed plans because of it!) and went so far as to pack up a van with our belongings at the end of the night (our venue required we remove everything from the building by 11 p.m.) She even recruited her husband, Otto, to lend extra help. She was excellent at handling all of the typical wedding-day stresses that come up and went above and beyond our expectations, and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a day-of event coordinator or wedding planner.
I'm so sad the wedding's over and I won't be meeting up with Peggy anymore. She's not only really smart but also seriously one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Peggy had great ideas throughout the planning and helped me save money on some vendors. Most importantly, she had impeccable taste and great common sense, two priceless qualities you want in your day-of planner, since she's the one setting up the show while you're getting ready. Do yourself a favor and hire Peggy and Love on a Shoe String. A the mother of the bride I cannot recommend her highly enough. Everyone commented how calm I was through the whole process and I give Peggy all the credit. She was such a help the entire time, from suggesting vendors to just talking me off the ledge when my daughter and I had differing opinions, In the wedding day when problems arose (and there will be problems) she just handles them calmly and quickly, My daughter and I trusted her to make sure the venue was beautiful even though she couldn't get in until 3 hours before the reception started. You would have thought she had 2 days to pull it together. Everything was wonderful and my daughter and I had a wonderful day!

On the day of the wedding, I was incredibly grateful to her as she took over everything and didn't let me worry about any of it. Peggy is outstanding! She is like the mother I actually wanted at my wedding! From the stress in the beginning of planning to the day of the wedding craziness, Peggy was there as my therapist, my helpful suggester and just a great friend to rely on! She made sure I had the best vendors and everyone was on time and knew their schedule. Thanks again Peggy!!
Out of all the things I spent money on Peggy was the BEST. She really brought my whole day together- She helped me stay organized and reviewed all my ideas with me- helping to guide me into making them into a reality. I was very set on planning most of my wedding with detail and was on a budget but I could not have done it with the coordination of Peggy. She was so great in sharing her experience of what was possible and helped me figure out all my details. She had great recommendations for me when I was stuck and was there all day the day of to pull it together. Her assistant was incredible and they both made sure it was the best possible day for me. She is SO kind, comfortable to work wth and an excellent communicator. I would work with Peggy on any event in the future if she had availability. Everyone raved about the reception and I think they were telling the truth since we had to basically escort people out! Not possible without her!
I am sad to say that I was very disappointed by the services Peggy provided for our wedding. We hired Peggy to be our wedding day coordinator and prior to the wedding she was great and assured us everything would go smoothly. Unfortunately this was not the case as there were a number of things I had trusted Peggy to handle on our wedding day, which were not accomplished. For example, she packed up our belongings and there were a few sentimental items that we did not get back, the timeline I prepared did not go as we discussed, tables were not situated as discussed, transportation was misguided, etc. Our wedding day was beautiful and of course I realize not everything will go exactly as planned; however, I expect more to go as planned than not when paying someone $1,625.00 to pay attention to such details. If I had to do it again, I would not hire Love on a Shoe String.
I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Peggy. I knew from our first phone call that she was going to be great to work with, but Peggy completely exceeded my expectations. From months before our wedding all the way up to the big day, Peggy went above and beyond to make our wedding everything we imagined and so much more. She is is highly experienced and professional, but also so warm and personable. Peggy was always communicative, responsive, on time, organized, supportive, kind and patient as we worked through the details. We met with Peggy several times before the wedding and she always made a point to address our needs, preferences, questions and concerns - her preparedness and attention to detail made the entire process so easy for us. We had to change our venue midway through the planning process and also had to make several last minute changes right before our wedding day, and Peggy remained as calm and collected as ever. She also did a great job communicating with our other vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page. On wedding weekend Peggy was ready to roll! She facilitated our entire rehearsal at the venue and she made sure that we had no worries on wedding day. Peggy was so dedicated to making sure everything turned out the way we hoped it would - she even helped my family breakdown all of the decor we brought to the venue after the wedding was over. One of the things that I loved most about working with Peggy is her selflessness - her priority was always to make sure that we were happy, relaxed and present so that we could experience our wedding without having to worry about a single thing. She was with us every step of the way and I found myself referring to her as our "lifesaver" on many occasions - I really don't know what we would have done without her. Her positive and energetic demeanor made it so easy to work with throughout the entire planning process and up until the big day. She is extremely helpful, calm, sweet, organized and caring who treats you as if you were family. We had some big ideas for my daughter’s wedding at The Stone Barn and it became clear that it would be impossible to pull it off without help. We originally met Peggy when she worked at The Stone Barn. When I saw that she had begun her own business, we asked her to be our “day of” wedding coordinator.
We met with Peggy about 5 months before the wedding to reconnect and go over our ideas. She understood our needs, she embraced the Oktoberfest Wedding theme and provided all of the encouragement and support we would need right up through the wedding weekend.
I thought a “day of” coordinator would be limited in participation. However, Peggy was with us when we met with the Stone Barn to go over menu selections and details. She provided suggestions when our baker suddenly went out of business and she contacted all of the vendors to confirm details. Peggy was a constant support for my daughter and me – available by phone and email. When the hairstylist had emergency surgery and my daughter needed a trial with a new stylist, Peggy drove to the salon to make sure that my daughter was in good hands.
Somehow, Peggy was able to execute our vision for the most amazing and unique wedding celebration. It did not matter that the church was nearly an hour away from the reception venue – she was in both places and made sure that every detail was attended to. When I walked into the Stone Barn before the cocktail hour, I was stunned. EVERY detail was perfect. Peggy oversaw everything from the time we arrived until well after we left. She was ready and able to respond to any question or emergency with professionalism, courtesy and, most of all, with genuine warmth. She gave me the best of both worlds – I was able to be both party planner and mother of the bride. Peggy is a gem – it was an absolute pleasure working with her. And I could never have made it without her.
Our wedding was 99% DIY, but we needed someone to help us pull it all together on the day of the wedding. That's where Peggy came in. She was essential to the success of the day -- coordinating vendors, setting up, and attending to us throughout the day. Couldn't have done it without her!
Peggy Hecksher was our wedding coordinator for our daughter's wedding in August of 2010. When I first called her we were able to meet with her that same day. She is very personable and she listens to your desires of your special day. When we arrived at our venue for the reception, Peggy had a room ready for my daughter and her husband and their bridal party for them to refresh a little before the reception started. She saw to every detail of the reception from guest needs to the menu we had chosen. She also made my day more enjoyable because when my husband and I walked into the reception we could greet guests and enjoy the reception as parents of the Bride. She coordinated everything with our DJ and our Photographers so we didn't have any worries when things were going to occur, such as first dance, first kiss.
