Established in 2010.
We opened Lovely Bride as a haven for brides who wanted a wedding dress shopping experience that felt fun and laid-back, while showcasing the coolest indie designers that weren't so 'available'. Fashion industry veteran, Lanie List, had experience building lifestyle brands, so she set out to create that Lovely Life, with Instagram-worthy shops, a blog about wedding fashion, and a loyal following of brides and brand fans we call #ourlovelies. Word spread about the new way we were doing bridal, which brought us a lot of attention, including love from smart women around the country who wanted a Lovely in their town. So Lanie decided to franchise Lovely, since she loved the idea of helping women get into business. Today, Lovely is a collective of 18 individually-owned bridal shops, run by entrepreneurial, hardworking women who care deeply about offering a personalized and locally-focused experience. onding to. I ended up finding my dress at Lovely Bride and am grateful for that. However, after I bought my dress (in May 2025) communication got really bad. I was originally told my dress would be in on December 17 and was never updated on the state of my order. My mom and sister came from out of state that weekend to pick up my dress and when I tried to call to get details on when I could get my dress, they never responded to my emails or were able to give me a verbal update on my dress. My dress ended up not coming until Mid-January. The morning of my appointment, they called and told me they double booked the studio and asked if I could move my appointment. When I refused, the staff were rude to me. I ended up getting my dress that day but it did ruin some of the fun of the moment.
If I could give zero stars, I would. I will preface my long review with; DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR DRESS AT LOVELY BRIDE DC.

I was told my dress would be ready for pickup in December 2025. In March 2026 they scheduled TWO appointments for me to pick up my dress, just to cancel on me the MORNING OF. It is now April 2026 and I still do not have my dress nor can they tell me where it is. I get married in June 2026. When I requested a full refund to be able to search for a new dress, Danielle, the store owner, went radio silent.
Communication throughout was consistently poor and reactive. I had to repeatedly follow up just to get basic updates, and timelines were vague, shifting, and never met. As my wedding approaches, the lack of transparency has been incredibly stressful.
Ultimately, Lovely Bride DC dragged me along, never having an idea where my dress was or when it would arrive (13 months after purchasing!!)
To say this is completely unacceptable is an understatement. No bride should ever have to experience this type of customer service especially coming from a BRIDAL BOUTIQUE. I get married in 6 weeks and have NO dress and they are taking zero accountability for the position they have put me in as I prepare for one of the biggest days of my life.
As I said, I beg you. Do not go here and do not purchase such an important piece of your wedding day from Lovely Bride DC.

ing, when it was ready. It was the wrong dress - cut incorrectly, an entirely different material and color. Laughable product compared to what she ordered. They insisted it was the same, despite hoarded of friends, family, and dressmakers unequivocally confirming it was not. They tried to get her off their hands to a tailor asap so the transaction would be complete. She did not accept (because it is NOT what she paid for) and we have been attempting to find an agreeable solution with the shop. They claimed the issue was being routed to higher management - in reality, they have gone completely cold. They have not responded to calls, voicemails; or emails for two months. What’s more? She also ordered a veil 10 months ago. It’s still not in, so now she has to find a new veil the week before our wedding.
They took made the dress incorrectly, didn’t make the veil, and now they have the dress, the veil, and our money with no effort to contact us again. Our wedding is in a week.
Our lawyer on retainer will be enthusiastically contacting them within the next few weeks.
Do yourself a favor and go to literally any other dress shop if you want to love your dress and have a stress free experience.

I understand having policies in place, but this felt extremely inflexible and disappointing, especially given the amount of notice provided. For a bridal boutique—where plans can change quickly—this lack of understanding left a really negative impression. I would not recommend based on this experience alone.

I was helped by Kierra who was absolutely amazing to work with, so much so that after my 3rd dress she actually asked if she could pick one out for me. I was lucky enough to have TWO bridal consultants work with me - one was newer so another stylist was working with her in tandem. They both seemed genuinely excited to pull the dresses I was interested in and there was no pressure to try on or show a dress that I didn't love. I felt super comfortable with them in the dressing room with me to help me into the dresses... and I definitely would not have been able to get into half of them without their help, lots of tulle to navigate! Once I narrowed it down to my top two dresses, they brought out a veil and accessories to give me the full picture. isappointing - everything was super traditional or they never had anything to try in my size and squeezing into a size 6 dress and just hoping it would look good in the right size just wasn’t my vibe. A couple of months in I was already so discouraged.
But Lovely Bride made me feel so at ease immediately - they had lots of modern options and LOTS of sizes to try. No one suggested that I would “maybe fit a smaller size at the wedding” but just helped me find beautiful dresses that looked on my body exactly as it was. Nothing felt pushy or rushed and in the end I found a perfect, unique dress at a price that I liked and actually felt GOOD at the end of it all.

with a plunge neckline. I tried them and told her what I was looking for specifically. She asked me if I was willing to go up to $2650, I did and she showed me one more dress which didn’t look great on me. After which she said “you may want to try ‘say yes for less’ in Maryland as per your budget”. I asked if they had any samples that I could look at and she said none that would be to my liking and she walked away into her office. My bridesmaids and I were appalled by her behavior. I work as a manager in a consulting firm and I know what customer service is, this isn’t it. Also, the consultant didn’t so much as ask if we wanted some water. We brought our own tiny bottles of rosés to the store and she said weren’t allowed to drink it. We obviously complied to the policy but I wish the store had communicated that via email or on their website. So future brides please don’t bring your own beverages and I wish you good luck finding your dress and hopefully a better experience.

I told Lovely Bride I wanted lace, long sleeves, and a long train for my January winter wedding. The dress I had a feeling would be it, however, was a high neckline, deep open back, crepe dress with NO lace in sight. I tried the specific dress on first thing and that was it. I still tried on all of the other lace dresses that better matched what I thought I would always wear, but when you know you know! I was so appreciative of the Lovely Bride team for trusting my gut and not putting me in anything I wasn’t comfortable in. My appointment was perfect, I walked away with my dream gown ordered, and I felt like my wedding day was coming to life. Lovely Bride was also very communicative and accurate in estimating when my dress would be ready for pickup. My wedding was over a year from the date I actually found my dress, and I can attest to the fact that I loved it as much on my wedding day (if not more) than I did on that day over a year earlier when I tried on the sample size for the first time. Her little enthusiasm left me feeling like every dress was a complete disappointment. Also, I wasn’t allowed to look through any of the dresses on my own. She promised the last grouping of dresses would have been ones I selected. Instead Erin couldn’t have gotten me out of there so quickly and completely skipped it. I think it's hard to know what will look good on you, but they pick out three dresses from the beginning and let you decide what you like and what features about the dress you like or hate and keep narrowing down from there. Lesley helped me on my first visit — I had one dress in mind so she suggested to try that one on, would then pull a few other styles so I could get a feel for what I liked/didn’t like, and then after that I was able to walk around to pull a few more dresses that caught my eye. Lesley was so helpful and made me feel so comfortable and confident when trying on the dresses to find which one was best for me. Katie helped me on my second appointment and on the day I picked up my wedding and she was just amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and was open to any/all questions I had and genuinely wanted to get to know more about me/my wedding/my wedding planning process. My entire experience working with Lovely was so amazing — I would absolutely recommend this boutique to anyone searching for their wedding dress. d in, I fell in love with the shop! Not only were the gowns displayed beautifully and on the coolest iron clothing racks, the décor and overall vibe in the shop was just perfect. Katie was beyond professional and so kind and patient with me as this was the first shop I had been to. Katie did not rush me at all during the appointment and I even arrived late because of traffic! I had come into the shop with a dress in mind already and I was so happy that the shop had so many quality options, just in case I had reconsidered my original pick. Katie even discussed adding buttons to my dress which made me EVEN happier with my dress!! Then we discussed veil options and I was elated with he final look! osed to join me got caught in traffic - she only arrived five minutes before the appointment ended, but Danielle generously assured me she would let us stay as late as we needed to come to our decision. When I arrived, Danielle quickly picked out a handful of gowns for me to try based on the info in my appointment reservation. By the second dress, I pretty much had my answer. So we had a solid 45 minutes to just...... hang out and wait for my late family member. Danielle did an incredible job of filling the time and making me feel comfortable and welcome. The gowns are on display for you to browse, not hidden in some back room, and they're all tagged with their designer, name, and price, which seems rare. The level of attention I felt I was offered was truly above and beyond here. The gowns themselves are stocked in a range of sizes that seems sensible - I'm tiny and felt good in their samples, but they also carry plus sizes of many dresses in-store. The dresses themselves are all of remarkable quality in a wide range of styles, and the price points are reasonable and proportionate. Just awesome. Thank you, Danielle, and thank you Lovely Bride!
