History
Established in 2010.
We opened Lovely Bride as a haven for brides who wanted a wedding dress shopping experience that felt fun and laid-back, while showcasing the coolest indie designers that weren't so 'available'. Fashion industry veteran, Lanie List, had experience building lifestyle brands, so she set out to create that Lovely Life, with Instagram-worthy shops, a blog about wedding fashion, and a loyal following of brides and brand fans we call #ourlovelies. Word spread about the new way we were doing bridal, which brought us a lot of attention, including love from smart women around the country who wanted a Lovely in their town. So Lanie decided to franchise Lovely, since she loved the idea of helping women get into business. Today, Lovely is a collective of 18 individually-owned bridal shops, run by entrepreneurial, hardworking women who care deeply about offering a personalized and locally-focused experience. By shopping at Lovely, you shop local, independent and women-owned. Good on you!

The Lovely Bride team was incredible. Had such a wonderful time with my friends at the salon. They also were so helpful in finding my perfect dress! They made sure I was adequately prepared for the session and helped me to narrow the many choices I had to a dress that also fit my budget. I would highly recommend to any bride as their team is so helpful!
I'm so happy that I bought my dress at Lovely Bride! My stylist, Jordan, was terrific; I never felt pushed or pressured to make a decision. I also really appreciated the guides with helpful advice that Lovely emailed me in advance of the appointment and after I purchased the dress; it really felt like they had thought through every aspect of the experience. I was a little skeptical of their requirement to review their inventory online and bookmark your favorites before the appointment, but it really did make the process much smoother. I would definitely recommend Lovely to other brides.
What a fabulous place to get your wedding dress! The people are so kind and welcoming. The dresses are absolutely stunning!! I am so lucky that the minute I tried on my dress it was an instant "This is the one!" Jillian was the lady who helped me, and she was so sweet! I felt and looked fabulous on our big day!
I had the most fun wedding dress shopping at Lovely Bride! My stylist Cortney was amazing and high energy from the minute she greeted us. We challenged her to bring out fun, whimsical, non-traditional gowns and boy did she deliver!! She encouraged me to try styles I never would have expected and to our surprise, pulled my dream dress immediately!! Cortney was absolutely 5 stars...the only reason I'm rating the overall experience a 4 is because it's definitely a no-frills bridal warehouse than a boutique showroom. No wine or champagne provided, small dressing spaces, and crowds of people in the lobby constantly rotating in and out. So overall, it didn't feel special or personalized like a boutique studio, BUT the stylists and the dresses were top notch!
Lovely Bride is exceptional all around. From the unique selection of dresses in a variety of sample sizes to the kind and attentive stylists, my whole shopping experience was perfect. I had many appointments in the NYC area and tried on dozens of dresses before finally saying "yes" to my dress (Ventura by Vagabond Bridal) at Lovely. I could not recommend them enough!
I found the dress of my dreams at Lovely Bride and the staff person who helped me during my visit was awesome. I'm rating them 4 stars as they didn't do anything "special" during the visit, though — it's a fairly busy bridal shop, so my appointment felt a bit standardized. They weren't allowing prosecco to be drank during the visit given that it may dirty the dresses — totally understandable — but it would be pretty low cost for them to give a small bottle of prosecco, or something similar, if you purchase their dress there as a token of gratitude.
I really loved my wedding dress shopping experience at Lovely Bride. My stylist was Jordan and I instantly felt at ease and comfortable working with her. She not only asked me about my wedding dress interests, but she also asked about me and my fiancé. I felt like she truly wanted to get to know me and had my best interest at heart. During my first appointment I narrowed it down to Elsie Flowy, from Made With Love Bridal. However I also really wanted to try on one of their newest dresses, Jaymes, that they had just launched at bridal fashion week a few weeks prior. Jordan managed to track down Jaymes and called me to let me know they had a sample in store. I ended up purchasing Elsie Flowy and I absolutely loved my dress. I felt so comfortable wearing it all day on my wedding day and I received so many glowing compliments on my dress.
I cannot recommend Lovely Bride enough to any brides. Each stylist I worked with during my visits made myself and my party feel comfortable and were incredibly attentive. The shop does a fantastic job of making your experience feel very intimate. There are very few parties shopping at the same time so you are able to try dresses on and contemplate without feeling rushed or hectic. They have a beautiful, wide variety of dresses to accommodate anyone’s style and tastes. They also have a great selection of bridal accessories to complete your look. My stylist at my initial visit made be feel comfortable in my own skin and beautiful in each dress. She worked so efficiently, that the third dress I tried on, was the one! I would highly recommend Lovely Bride!
I LOVED my dress from Lovely and my entire shopping experience with Heather. I was nervous, thought I wanted one thing and came out with something completely different but SO much more "me". I received so many compliments that it was the most perfect dress for me. I danced all night and was comfortable and confident the entire time. Thanks to your entire team for making this such a lovely part of my special day (see what I did there?!)!!! I will continue to rave about my experience and send many others your way!
The best dress shopping experience! It was the first and only place I visited. Loved the portal to be able to browse and favorite styles ahead of time so we had a good starting point. We got to be in a private booth/room area and our stylist was so fun and helpful. Eventually we asked what she would recommend after seeing me in a few and her selection was totally different than what I originally thought I wanted and it ended up being the one! She was spot on. So happy with my dress and veil I purchased from Lovely Bride and thankful to the team for a memorable day!
I had such a good time shopping for dresses here! I was wearing a dress that in my heart I knew was the one (I had come back three times to wear it) and yet I was having such a hard time saying yes because there was another I was deciding between. The woman who helped me gently talked me through what I was feeling and helped me realize what it was I truly wanted and ultimately led to me saying yes! Everyone there is so sweet and genuinely wants you to find the right one.
I LOVED dress shopping at Lovely Bride and purchased a gorgeous dress here! I really liked how this store doesn’t overload you with a million options. We had Theresa as our consultant, and she got us closer and closer to a winner with every dress. She was so incredibly good at asking specific questions to find out what components of the dress were working and not working, and the dress I ultimately picked combined so many little elements that I loved. The process was easy and relaxed, not rushed, and felt very personalized and private. I would say that Lovely Bride will be most useful for you if you’ve had a few appointments already and sort of know your preferences, it is not an ideal place for trying on a ton of different options as a first pass. But once you’re ready to find the right one and make a decision, this store is perfect. The dress arrived right on time with what they estimated and was packaged neatly. I would highly recommend you try Lovely Bride for wedding dress shopping!!
My dress was absolutely gorgeous and truly one of a kind. For brides who are looking for that modern bridal look — look no further than Lovely Bride. You get designer gowns custom made for you at a price point that just makes sense. The fitting was nice — absolutely no pressure to buy AND my stylist is the one who picked out my dress! It wasn’t even on my list! Highly recommend!
When you book your appointment and get asked what stylist you would like, pick Jess. I hate all the glitzy stuff so I was super nervous to dress shop in the first place. Jess made me feel comfortable in my own skin and then quite literally hand picked my wedding dress for me. If I didn’t have her to feel my vibe and give me direction I don’t know if I would have had that easy of a time finding what fit my curvy body. To put it into perspective the second dress I tried on (that first one she personally picked) ended up being my absolute favorite and worth every cent. Then she threw on some removable sleeves (so cool she even thought to do that) and it was like omg this is it!!!! I have my dream wedding dress. Highly recommend this shop.
So happy I found my dress here! Super unique and beautiful styles for boho brides. Everyone was so sweet, accommodating and helpful! The only downfall was that they don’t do alterations there. But overall a wonderful experience and would highly recommend!
Ever since I got engaged, I had my eye on Lovely Bride and I am SO glad I found my wedding dress here! They have the most beautiful designers from around the world. My dress was the Eames dress from Chosen by One Day and I felt absolutely radiant in it. From start to finish, it was so easy to communicate with the staff and they were available to address any questions I had about my dress, tailors, and the cleaning process. It was easy to make an appointment online and they made the experience of choosing my dress feel so personalized and special. They were flexible, understanding, and very professional throughout. If you are looking for your wedding dress, look no further than Lovely Bride to find your perfect gown.
Really cute boutique, great options, great staff, friendly, made my dreaded wedding dress shopping a breeze.
[Before I begin, know that all of the samples you try on here will be filthy. It is a huge turn off.]
For context, like many other brides, I rescheduled my wedding 3 times due to covid and had bought another (waaaay too expensive) dress at Saks before lockdown. After 18 months of riding the postponement wave, I needed a dress for a different season entirely, so I decided to try and sell my unworn, unaltered Reem Acra and went back to Lovely, where I had previously visited and been helped by Kelsey. She was super nice and helpful the first time, but when I came back a year later, she was ultra brusque. Understandable, as I hadn't bought from her the first go-round. I didn't mind and knew what I wanted, so I didn't need outstanding customer service in that second appointment and was unfazed by this. I have worked in customer service, and truly, not every interaction can or needs to be completely sunny and outstanding.
Two things DID rub me the wrong way.
1) She gave me pretty convincing, terrible advice on how to sell my first gown and made me feel like it would be extremely easy. I finally got married last week and am still in possession of the first gown. It is stunning, it is pristine, it is perfect for a spring or summer wedding, but I can't seem to GIVE it away. Unless you list your gown for $1.00 online, it seems it will sit there forever, which I was not made aware of. So I felt like that was a touch disingenuous and geared toward making the sale of my second dress.
2) I don't know if it is common practice to order a gown that feels WAY too big so it can be taken in just right, but the size she ordered for me was enormous and cost another $1,500 to alter (which felt especially annoying after the first dress debacle and also the fact Kelsey had estimated in the hundreds of dollars for alterations). Their go-to seamstress at Sew Elegant was extremely kind and, like Kelsey, reassured me she'd altered that dress perfectly a million times. But - long story short - alterations came down to the wire (they seem pretty over-booked), and after 3 fittings it wasn't right, so I didn't get to try it on again until my wedding day. When I put it on, my heart totally sank. It was just not remotely correct, looked way different than it was supposed to, and every time I saw myself, I was devastated and uncomfortable and self-conscious. I felt this way for the ENTIRE night, and was so sad once the pictures started rolling out, because it was obvious I was preoccupied and distracted by my dress. I had been working toward that wedding for a loooong time and spent a lot of money to have it not just turn out “meh,” but actually make me detest all of my wedding pictures and consume so much of my energy.
I bought my dress from the Pasadena location and had a great experience. They were so patient with me trying on as many dresses as I wanted and pulling lots of options, some that I wouldn't have picked myself but ended up really liking. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because they had me order my dress way too big. I know this is a common practice in the bridal industry but my dress had a completely lace bodice that had to be taken apart by hand by my seamstress so it cost me a lot of extra $$ in alterations. Don't be afraid to size down if your measurements are on the borderline of 2 sizes, I wish I had.
I had an appointment yesterday in NYC and unfortunately this experience was absolutely awful. Upon entering, I was hardly greeted. I took a seat in the waiting area on a dirty couch with dirty floors and then the lady, Kelsey, who was working the front desk/answering the phones (the one who hardly greeted us), said she would be helping us out. She brought my 2 guests and me into a room, asked a bit about what I was looking for and what the budget was. When I said my wedding date, she made me feel extremely anxious by saying "in the wedding world, that's like tomorrow". I had been to 2 other stores prior to this and neither said anything about my 7-8 month timeframe. In fact, my wedding planner and NONE of my other vendors seem to think this timeframe is a problem.
After that, Kelsey pulled some dresses for me and closed the curtain, handed the dress to me and told me to "come out when ready". Having only tried on wedding dresses the day prior and early that day, this was not something I am used to. It's not like I was trying on a pair of jeans! These are a unique article of clothing and something worth quite a bit of money, so I expected some assistance. After I came out in the dress, she clipped me and then immediately RAN out of the room. It was like she wanted nothing to do with me and my guests. She didn't tell us anything about the dress, explain the style, designer, etc. This went on for all the dresses I tried. At the 2 other stores I had been to, the consultants asked for feedback, told us about the fabric/materials/detailing and more. In addition, they asked questions about me, my fiance, our wedding, location to get to know me and my style and vibe more. Overall Kelsey was flat and lacked animation. In fact, she seems completely disinterested in me and the experience.
Something else to note is that all of the dresses tried on at Lovely Bride were much dirtier, both on the outside and inside than the other places I had been to. It's actually a shame that my experience was so poor at Lovely Bride because there were some beautiful dresses, but I would never purchase something here due to the disappointing experience. My appointment lasted only 45 minutes, whereas everywhere else I went was 90 minutes. It seemed like Kelsey was rushing me out and her last question when we left was "where to next?"
I don't enjoy writing reviews like this, but I was so upset and discouraged after leaving Lovely Bride and would hate for another bride to experience this.
Lovely Bride was recommended to me by a friend & I’m so happy that I listened! Lovely had such a beautiful collection of wedding dresses. Their stylist were attentive and never pushy. I found my dress at Lovely in 2019 for my original wedding in 2020 but due to COVID had to postpone. The dress still fit even after we postponed. I received so many compliments! I felt amazing in the dress. It was comfortable and easy to dance in. I also got my accessories such as my veil and head piece at Lovely. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to get my dress at Lovely!
I had a wonderful experience at Lovely Bride NYC in early May 2021. HUGE thank you to my consultant, Debra, was kind, caring, and listened to all of my requests and concerns thoroughly. After trying on my wishlist gowns without finding the one, she was able to pull more gowns that she thought I'd like - and I found the perfect dress. The salon was beautiful and relaxing, and we finished our appointment in a timely manner without feeling rushed at all. If you're looking for a wide array of gown styles with a smaller boutique experience, Lovely Bride is a great option.
My time at lovely bride this past weekend was amazing! I highly recommend taking advantage of the look book you’ll get via email, so you can plan ahead to see which dresses you definitely want to try on when you arrive. I had a good feeling about a dress and it ended up being the one. My stylist was also wonderful and recommended a few designers she thought I’d like based on my style, for shoes and accessories. I ended up finding the perfect shoes for my wedding that same day as well, because of her! Cannot recommend lovely bride enough :)
Kelsey was amazing. She knew exactly what dresses to pick and was not pushy at all. Definitely one of the main reasons I got my dress.
I had the best experience at Lovely Bride! I was so anxious going in and worried I wouldn’t find a dress, but I wound up picking the one! Lindsey was amazing! Super nice, helpful and patient. She pulled at least 10 dresses for me to try on and did not rush me at all. She also took a bunch of amazing photos of me in the dress! Really went above and beyond. So excited to be a Lovely!
I came into Lovely Bride at the end of June 2020, I'm so upset about my experience that I'm writing a review now, nearly 7 months later. My appointment was with Hannah who I had told that my budget was $3,500. I needed a dress of the rack because my wedding date was scheduled only a few months after this appt (pandemic caused). After trying on a few dresses *all of which Hannah knew the exact price of* I fell in love with Milla Nova's Emri dress and was considering buying it then and there. To my surprise, Hannah told me that she did not know the how much the Emri Dress cost and called the manager over to consult. They whispered back and forth, which I thought was off. Hannah and her manager let me know that the dress (off the rack) would cost my exact budget - $3,500. I decided to call around to different stores and see how much the dress was sold for elsewhere, they all said $2200 (some said $2300 or $2400). I asked several stores what the price was for off the rack, several said $1100. There were several stores in NYC that had the dress listed at $2200 so the NYC rent excuse is null here. Lovely Bride knew I was desperate for a dress so they took advantage and tried to up charge me by $2,400. The place is cute, it has trendy dresses, but if you go please make sure you look at the tag of your dress when you try on and take picture of it (they will never follow up in email like they say, believe me, press them for the name of the dress you love). Following your appointment do what I did and call around to make sure Lovely Bride isn't trying to scam you like they did me.
Lovely bride is sick! I found my dress here. They have the most modern selection of dresses and it’s very unique and welcoming from the minute you walk in. My consultant Kelsey was great and really efficient and pulled a few things I would have never picked for myself but ended up loving. The thing that sets Lovely Bride apart from more traditional salons is the type of dresses they carry here. They’re incredibly well curated & stylish. The ONLY thing that gave me pause is that they require you to pay in full (some salons offer payment plans) - but still a great experience. Can’t wait for my dress to come.
Had a great experience at the NYC store with Lindsey. She found the PERFECT dress...and it wasn't one I came into see. She was accessible and helpful at every turn.
I worked with Kelsey for my first round, and Heather for my follow up appointment. Absolutely AMAZING experience with the both of them! They listened to exactly what I wanted, were so helpful, and..gave me my DREAM wedding dress! Couldn't be more excited to say "I do!" and so thankful for LovelyBride for making this happen!
Nicole was an absolute DREAM stylist! She listened to every word I said and pulled the most beautiful dresses. Ultimately I showed her a picture of a dress I saw on their Instagram and it was FATE! The NYC location had just purchased the dress and it arrived earlier that week. It was my dream dress and Nicole knew it but never made me feel pressured or rushed me out of the salon. Nicole even graciously gave me a week+ to think on it and when I booked my second appointment to buy it we had the best time! She made that day THE most special wedding planning day.
If you are a NJ bride, not looking for your "typical NJ" dress, I highly, highly recommend Lovely Bride NYC!
Erica was just amazing! She made me try all the dresses I selected in my wishlist, she understood right away what I wanted and after 10 dresses she found MY dress. I fell in love right away! I went back after a week and I was still in love with it! Thank you Erica
I absolutely loved my experience wedding dress shopping here. The staff was so helpful, and Anesha was so great at creating a confident and safe environment to buy my dress in. I felt like they honored all of the COVID safety precautions while still allowing for a fun dress try-on experience. Thank you guys so much!!
Just purchased my dress here today! Had a truly LOVELY experience. Kelsey was absolutely wonderful for both of my appointments and so easy to talk to, in person and through email. She responded quickly no matter the time. She was kind, never pushy, and made me feel great about the whole experience. I couldn't recommend this place more.
I had the most amazing experience at Lovely Bride NYC! Lindsay was my stylist and she was so helpful, considerate and provided her honest opinion which I really appreciated! She helped me feel calm and relaxed during the appointment and pulled my favorite dresses ahead of time. She truly listened to my style preferences but also helped to expand them by suggesting new styles that aligned with my taste. I would highly recommend!
I was excited to go to Lovely Bride but didn't have the best experience. Ten minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, the doors to the store were still locked and no one was answering the phone. During the appointment, none of the dresses from my Wishlist were prepared so I had to search my email to get the names of the dresses. It seems like some brides get phone consults before their appointment (I didn't). I tried calling and emailing prior to my appointment to confirm but couldn't get through to anyone, except an email response back the night before requesting I fill out a questionnaire which I had already filled out. Overall, although they were friendly at the actual appointment, the lack of preparedness and communication took away from the experience and I would be too nervous to purchase a dress from this salon.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kelsey at Lovely Bride NYC. From the minute we walked in, she made us feel at home, stress free and at ease. She didn’t overwhelm me with a million dresses. Kelsey was genuine and not pushy. She listened and observed and within 45 min I had said yes to my dress. Amazing experience even during COVID. :) thank you Kelsey!!! You’re a gem.
Lovely Bride was such a magical experience. With dresses that deviated from the norm (I was so sick of seeing the same dresses everywhere) and consultants who truly know what they're doing- I'm so glad I shopped here and was able to say Yes to the Dress :) Thank you especially to Julia!!!
Lovely Bride was such a wonderful experience! Lindsay was the perfect stylist! She was a such a pleasure to speak with, along with being extremely helpful and knowledgeable in her expertise. Her bubbly personality made it easier and effortlessly to say yes to the dress! Thanks again!
Just bought my dress here tonight. And it was all thanks to Debra. She was so patient and honest. You could tell that she actually put thought into each of the dresses that she pulled for you. Then when I narrowed it down to two dresses, she was a saint and let me try them on back to back at least five times. The salon was beautiful, but Debra really made the experience great!
Lovely bride was amazing!! I found my dress there a couple weeks ago! Due to COVID, we had the salon to ourselves which was so nice! The lady who worked with me picked out incredible dresses and was so great to work with.
I had the best experience at Lovely. I worked with Lindsey, who was a dream. I wanted to be friends with her and put her in my pocket to take her with me by the end of our appt. She listened to my preferences but also used her judgement to pull things I hadn't chosen. I found my dress on the third try with her. I had been two RK and Kleinfeld, and felt rushed and like the end goal was selling a dress not making me happy. I left lovely with a dress and feeling so happy about myself and my choice. Yay!
Hannah B was the absolute BEST. Hands down. Lovely was the third bridal salon I visited. At the two previous salons I kept find bits and pieces of what I like, but neither could put a full dress together. I described everything I was looking for to Hannah and I could just see her mind working and scanning Lovely's inventory in her head. Her third pick was exactly what I had been trying to find. From the band detail across the waist to the skirt add on to bring forward that whimsical vibe for the ceremony. I truly could not be more thrilled with her expertise, kindness and all around fabulous demeanor during my appointment. Would recommended 10/10.
We absolutely loved Lovely Bride ! My daughter found the perfect wedding dress & Julia was just wonderful! She helped my daughter find the most breathtakingly beautiful dress - she knew exactly what would compliment her shape & was soo gifted . ❤️ Outstanding service. We highly recommend it & definitely request Julia !
I had the most surreal experience at Lovely Bride. They really get to know you personally and professionally, so that they can properly help you. My first experience crying out of pure happiness while looking for a dress (this was the fourth place I went to) was at Lovely Bride. 10/10 Recommend to any of my loved ones! Thank you for being lovely!
I can not say enough wonderful things about Lovely Bride! My stylist Cecilia was amazing. She was so kind, patient and truly listened to what I was trying to describe even though I was all over the place! My sister and I had so much fun and were pretty positive we found the dress.
When we came 2 days later with my family and decide the dress was the one (!), Cecilia made the process effortless. She handled my overly excited crowd with ease and I appreciated how she let my family have some time to play with veils and accessories even though my appointment had been over long before.
Buying a wedding dress can be a roller coaster, but feeling comfortable with your salon is half the battle. I can’t wait to come back when my dress is in!!
I had the greatest time with Nicole at Lovely Bride NYC! She is the warmest, kindest friend to all brides who went above and beyond to make sure my dream dress was truly a DREAM COME TRUE! Grateful for her! And the entire group of Lovelies! Now, for the hardest part: to wait for the dress!
If you're looking for an intimate and personal experience, come to Lovely Bride! I made an appointment after falling in love with a small dress designer and found it was the only local location that carried it. My mom was skeptical of a newer salon that does not do it's own alterations, but she agrees that their service is five stores and the store is stunning. We loved that we had a private space to try on gowns and take photos, and then got to take "the dress" into the open atrium to make a final decision and really have a WOW moment. It's also nice to manage appointments online. Highly recommend!
Lovely Bride has the perfect balance of unique and classic dresses and service could not be better. Highly recommend to everyone!
It's so hard to search through the internet and figure out which boutiques will be worth the trip and which will not. Lovely Bride is worth it.
I worked with Nicole and she was, hands down, the best associate I've worked with since I started trying dresses. I was looking for something a little out of the box and she got a sense of what I wanted right away. She was not afraid to throw out ideas to me but understood when I wasn't feeling a particular style as much as well. She took tons of photos and knew to get a video to show the movement of the dress that I liked the best.
The selection of dresses there was also wonderful, a very nice collection of modern, bohemian, and a touch of traditional. Their price point is also excellent. Every dress I tried on felt well made and made with quality material.
Overall, I can't recommend Lovely Bride enough.
Lovely bride was such a great spot with a range of dresses and designers. They have dresses ranging from indie and boho to simple elegant and traditional! I would recommend any bride to try this store. Pro tip in New York try to go during the day during the week, nighttime and weekends are really crowded and busy. It’s a much a better experience during the day!
Had the absolute pleasure of working with Nicole during my appointment. She made me feel so comfortable and really gave great advice when it came to finding a dress that fit my body type. My whole family loved her so much we invited her to brunch after, haha, she was just such a gem. I feel so fortunate to have had the experience I did! Would 1,000% recommend to anyone!
Everything about my experience with Lovely Bride was wonderful! I went the first time and had a favorite - of course after a couple of more shopping adventures, I came back to Lovely Bride and thought I found the dress... well, then I tried on the next one and that was 'the one.' I worked with two fantastic ladies who wanted nothing more than to find something that made me feel like "me" and confident, beautiful, and elegant - I ended up purchasing Goldie by Dear Hart, a dress that I saw on the hanger and said - no way, but then put on and LOVED! Can't tell you how many compliments I got on my classicly cut, but super unique dress. I never would have even tried this dress if the Lovely Bride consultant I worked with hadn't recommended, I "just try it." Highly recommend Lovely Bride - their products are gorgeous and their staff and service are unbeatable!
Where do I begin? Since my first trip to try on dresses, I knew I would have trouble finding ‘the one’. Not because I had no idea what I wanted, but because I had too much of an idea what I wanted... and when you have a picture in your head of an article of clothing you wish you could find, we all know you don’t find it. My first trip to Lovely NYC was my 6th stop on the journey to find my dress, and I met my wonderful consultant, Nicole. I went in thinking Made With Love would be my designer, and tried on a ton of GORGEOUS MWL gowns... two of which I left thinking about, but ultimately didn’t have that ‘this is the one’ feeling about. Fast forward 5 appointments later... continuing to find dresses I loved but that didn’t feel like ‘the one’, I made another appointment at Lovely to explore other designers. I chose to go back for a second time because out of all the 10 other consultants I worked with along the way, I didn’t find any who made me feel as at ease and supported through the process as Nicole did. I’m happy to say that at my second visit to Lovely, and the last of my ELEVEN dress shopping trips, I found ‘the dress’. The dress I have been imagining in my head, convinced that I won’t find anywhere, had just arrived at the shop and was hanging in front of me. Nicole’s patience, support, bubbly/ encouraging personality, and genuine desire to help me find my dream dress was unmatched. If you are looking for a bridal salon and consultant who genuinely care about you finding your perfect dress, make an appointment at Lovely immediately! Thank you Lovely Bride and Nicole, I cannot wait to wear my dress down the aisle and feel like the best version of myself I could have ever dreamed of!
If possible, work with Hannah at Lovely Bride!! All of the ladies are absolutely wonderful, but Hannah really went above and beyond for me.
Hannah listened to exactly what I was looking for, and asked a lot of questions about my personal style -- she went so far as to dig through the shop archives to find a past season dress that really was spot on in terms of what I was looking for -- it really was such a tough decision between that dress and the one I ultimately chose, which is something I would have NEVER considered -- and it was perfect!!! Hannah you are INCREDIBLE!
When I was looking for a dress, I didn’t really know what I wanted other than I knew I did NOT want a princess, tulle and flowers everywhere-type dress. This salon had much more simple, elegant, a little on the alternative side-type dresses. The staff were super helpful, I must have tried on 20 or more dresses in a 2-hour period. The staff definitely got a sense for what I liked and would help try to pick dresses that made the most sense. I was super happy with my choice. The dress arrived a little sooner than expected which was great and I was able to pick it up, try it on again and ask questions about alterations. If you don’t want to look like a cupcake on your wedding day, go here!!
I cannot thank Lovely Bride enough! After striking out at a few other salons in NYC, I was nervous I was not going to find "the dress". I was very specific in what I was looking for and not only did my consultant understand my vision, but she went above and beyond to help my vision come to life! I ended up with a Louvienne dress - a brand I had never heard of! If you are looking for a chill, fun, romantic boutique - this is your place. Selection is excellent and service is fantastic. It was the most relaxed I felt at any bridal salon I visited in the city.
I loved my time at Lovely Bride NYC! Emily was so sweet and Kelsey offered excellent "wild card" dresses - one of which ended up being "The One!" If you are looking for a fun, feminine, glamorous, instagram-worthy bridal boutique - look no further. The stores are intimate and have a great selection and excellent attendants. I was able to try on a variety of sizes and styles. I highly recommend Lovely Bride!
My family and I were not treated very kindly by Kelsey when I went to pick up my purchased dress and try on accessories (I did however have a great experience with Hannah on my first apt. She's lovely!). It was very obvious that Kelsey didn't care/couldn't be bothered. She barely helped me into my dress and though I had corresponded over email with the shop about the accessories I wanted to try on (veils, capes, etc.) and was told they would be available she claimed most of them were not and didn't even double check. It was very clear that she wanted to rush the appointment. I had to ask "can I please try this veil here" on or "this hair piece"? She offered no suggestions and often wandered off. In the end I decided to order a veil from my designer that was not available in store, but was told could be ordered. I was quoted a price $100 more expensive than the designer's price on her website and was told she would have to email to see it was even available in a few days and would get back to me. I had serious doubts she would remember to so I went home and ordered the veil myself online! Finally, returning to the dressing room early I asked to try on a dress for my welcome party (that again, I confirmed just days prior was available and in my accessories appointment notes) and was told I only have 5 minutes left in my appointment (sounds about the right time a girl needs to try it on, right?). No surprise at all, but Kelsey said it wasn't available. I pushed back and she claimed that maybe the dress was no longer available in store. LIES. My family and I were able to laugh about the absurdity of the experience after, but it was definitely disappointing that picking up my dress and having an accessories appointment, which should have been a no-stress joyous occasion was a real downer. Management, please coach your employees better and remember that a customer is important even after a sale is made! There was a missed opportunity to make more sales and in general, this left a bad, final impression of the shop. Brides, take note!
I had such a nice experience at Lovely Bride. My consultant Cecelia was super sweet and helpful and helped me find THE one :). While the collection isn’t the biggest, I had a great time and found the perfect dress for me.
Don't say yes to the dress at Lovely Bride. They simply don't stand behind their services so don't put your dreams at risk. We tried really hard not to write a negative review but rather than accomodating us in any way they simply insisted that they could not have made a mistake. The $1200 alteration fee on the bodice alone was either because my daughter had lost weight or that Boston based tailor, AllFit, gouged us. The fact is that they unnecessarily upsized the bodice, charging us $200 to do so. They carefully reminded us that we should check the fine print--that fit issues were NOT their responsibility. Life is just too short to do business with a company that doesn't stand behind its services. Take your business somewhere else.
