The food was wonderful from Chef Jolie and her team. We had a few dietary restrictions that were easily accommodated which was wonderful. We even had a guest who elected for extra mashed potatoes instead of cake for dessert! I highly recommend!
Jolie and her team were absolutely incredible and the food was spectacular! We felt so thankful to have Low Country Quisine as our caterer as we navigated planning (and re-planning) a wedding during the pandemic. Jolie and team worked with us and truly felt like partners every step of the way. The food is AMAZING too! All of our guests were commenting all night about how delicious it was. Great depth of flavor and high quality ingredients. Jolie is super attentive to details as well. She asked for feedback and flavor preferences during the initial tasting and checked in often. Thank you LCQ for an amazing wedding!!
We scheduled tastings with several vendors, but knew right away that we’d choose Low Country Quisine after our first bite. Jolie had a table set for us and explained each of the food options we tasted. Every one was mouth watering!
She sat down with us after to get our feedback and together we wrote a proposal. There were plenty of menu choices and packages to choose from. Having the ability to do the rental package and staffing through them gave us peace of mind that it would be done right. Of course Colvin-19 created some changes in rentals and serving, but Jolie and her staff didn’t disappoint us. So many people raves about the food, especially the shrimp and grits and savory pot roast! The jalapeño cornbread and Georgia peach tea were also a bit hit with our guests.
We cannot rave enough about Low Country Quisine! I was extremely nervous to find a caterer because I am allergic to so much - gluten, dairy, and soy- but Jolie made me instantly feel at ease and gave us so many options. They also worked with our budget and made sure we had exactly what we wanted, so we did not have to compromise. People are still talking about the fabulous food at our wedding! Heck, I am still dreaming about our truffle fries and sliders. We cannot thank the team enough - everyone was so sweet and went above and beyond to make our experience one to remember.
Jolie, Kenisha & the entire staff were truly incredible! From the appetizers -- mini chicken & waffles, tomato soup w/grilled cheese shooters, to the main course anchored by -- grilled chicken & beef short rib with green beans & garlic mashed potatoes -- only to be topped by the jalapeño cornbread (which is still being talked about today!), Low Country Quisine made our daughter's reception a truly memorable experience. Of note -- there were zero leftovers!
Let me start by saying this… there were no leftovers. Everyone really enjoyed the food and the staff they provided were professional, attentive and polite. Low Country Quisine really provides an end-to-end service. From food, on-site prep, staff, bartender, cake cutting, servers, cleanup, plates, flatware rentals… everything! I had a couple slip ups in terms of my planning and foresight and they helped to remedy those smoothly and effectively. Things like, only ordering exactly one glass per guest… oops. Jolie and her team were quick to respond and were flexible as we adjusted things like timeline, guest count etc.
had Low Country Quisine cater my wedding. And the food was absolutely amazing! We had Fried Mac & Cheese, Buttermilk Pecan Fried Chicken, Braised Short Ribs, Rustic Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Sautéed Vegetables and Jalapeño Cornbread. We received so many compliments on how good the food tasted. Everyone kept asking who cooked the food?!?! It was definitely a hit! Especially the cornbread!! They were also nice to work with. They were able to work with our budget and helped us figure it out. Great customer service. Great food. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer! Oh the peach tea was the bomb!
Everything was perfect. The tasting session, the options available, the service, and the overall execution on our wedding day. Low Country provided plated service, bar tending, and cake cutting (including the individual to-go cake slicing and packing). We received a lot of compliments on the service at our wedding and are thankful we went with Low Country.
Jolie and her team were the best! I was planning my wedding from California and they accommodated 2 separate tastings with my parents. At the wedding, all of my guests raved about the southern food! The service and staff were great and had everything under control.
To be honest there aren't going to be enough words for how amazing my experience with Low Country Quisine was for our wedding. I had a very specific menu vision in mind and the entire LCQ team knocked it out of the park! We selected the shrimp and grits, and chicken/waffles for cocktail hour - I'm not normally a grits fan (my husband loves them) but I cannot stop telling him daily how I just want more shrimp and grits!! Our dinner was served family style and was chicken pot pie, pot roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, and mac-n-cheese. The service was amazing. My husband and I had a dedicated server, Lisa, for both cocktail hour and dinner. Lisa was so attentive and so sweet. She made sure that we ate and was constantly making sure we had water and drinks at all times!
The food for my wedding was very important to us and picking the right caterer was something I spent a lot of time and energy on. Jolie, Kenisha, Tomekia and the rest of the LCQ team made the entire experience so easy. Almost a month later and I'm still getting calls and texts about how amazing the food and service was.
If you want amazing food, great customer service, kind and knowledgeable staff, and having to not worry about anything during your event, then LCQ is the only place to go!
We learned about Low Country Quisine from Instagram.
The product (food) was amazing at our tasting and so was the staff. We chose everything that we tasted, with the exception of the Chicken and Waffles -- our favorite food pairing, but it wasn't to our liking so we scratched it from our menu. We found another item that we enjoyed. and selected it without tasting because we were told we would have to pay for an additional tasting. We declined and decided to blindly go with a replacement due to our previous experience with the product at our first tasting.
We made some adjustments along the way within the time allotted. The staff, specifically Kenisha and Tomekia, were great with working with us on finalizing our menu and making remaining payments. We ended up adding an additional entre to accommodate our non-seafood eaters.
THE ISSUES:
We included in our contract, specific details to set to the side 20 of each appetizer (we had 3) for the bridal party and our parents to have once we completed taking pictures. Unfortunately, this did not happen. The staff decided to bring what was left to the bridal suite, the groomsmen and bridesmaids munched on what was given. Our parents and siblings were served select appetizers and not ALL of them, per our contract.
My husband and I did not get to partake in enjoying our food, as it (untouched) was tossed by staff. We HEARD it was phenomenal. Our plates were placed in front of us after entering our reception and did our first dance literally as they sat our food down. We did not receive our food to-go, per our contract, for our room. We later learned that our parents were given to-go plates, but the staff neglected to give the bride and groom ours.
Our guests weren’t given options/variety of the appetizers. Many of our guests only tasted one and when they asked for others, they were met with a rather dismissive and condescending tone. Our expectation was that there would be a variety of our appetizers offered to each guest.
The mason jars the fruit was placed in—I had a family member who went to the dance floor and hadn’t touched hers, only to come back to staff attempting to remove it from the table. Once she advised she hadn’t touched it and wanted to ‘keep it’ a staff member insinuated it was being 'stolen' and made the following comment, ”that jar is MINE and you can’t have it!”
Our cake—the most disheartening piece of this entire ordeal, was tossed with the exception of the top layer. We got feedback from several guests, including our VIP guests, that they were offered one flavor and no option to have a different flavor. Their requests for another flavor were ignored by the staff. The remaining portions of our bottom 2 tiers was thrown in the trash. I saw it as we were leaving the venue - it was not individual slices that had been eaten off of. The cake was not purchased through LCQ.
Timing—guests were rushed through meals, food taken from tables prematurely (while they were on the dance floor), and treated like it was an assembly line and not given the time to truly enjoy their meal. What they were able to enjoy, they loved and that makes me happy but I am disgusted that they were treated.
Language Barrier—some of the staff didn’t speak English fluently.
We had high expectations for LCQ and just knew with the full service (bartender, staff to bust tables, servers, etc.) we'd get the best of the best, but that just didn't happen. I wish our experience could've turned out better.
Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how great the food was! Jolie and her team will work with you on creating the exact menu you’re looking for. Worth every dime.
Low Country Quisine was the BEST! The entire team was nothing less than amazing. Everybody was so friendly and professional. And the FOOD... the food was so good! I still have people talking about how much they loved the food. Jolie and Susy were always so helpful anytime I had a question during the planning process. Not once did I ever feel like I was bothering them with my questions that they’ve probably heard a thousand times. I will be forever grateful for Low Country Quisine, we are so glad we chose them to cater for our wedding!
The entire team was spectacular! Everyone raved about the food and how professional everything looked. Working with Jolie and the team leading up to the wedding was easy and they took a lot of pressure off of us leading up to the event. Hire Low Country Quisine if you want your wedding menu to be one to remember!!!
Low Country Cuisine was phenomenal!! Everyone loved the food at the wedding and said it was nothing like wedding food! People who don't normally think they would like shrimp and grist loved it!! Jolie, Susy and team were a dream!!! One of the best decisions we made for our wedding!
Our food was amazing! Everyone loved it!!!
The Jacobsons
Jolie and Suzy were absolutely amazing! They took the time to come out to the venue with us twice to do a walk through, which was above and beyond what we expected, but it made us feel so confident that everything would go off without a hitch, and it did. All of the guests at the weddingcommented on the absolutely delicious food. I would highly recommend Low Country Quisine as the caterer for any event. Kudos Jolie and Suzy for an amazing job!
Jolie is a doll and was a pleasure to work with. She gave us a follow up tasting when we requested changes to the soup and to the signature 'mocktail' she designed for us.
Her staff is very friendly, as many people commented at the reception.
There was a bit of a lag in our buffet lines and in cutting the cake but nothing was a serious complaint.
Her food is delicious and I will be dropping by for her cupcakes anytime!
I wanted and upscale southern menu and Low Country Quisine delivered. My guest still ask me about the shrimp & grits we had during cocktail hour. Chef Jolie' and her team go above and beyond. Food, Service, and Presentation all are 5-star.
Jolie and crew made my daughter's wedding amazing! She tailored the food to meet our Boardwalk meets Carnival in Jamaca at the Texas Museum of Automotive History. Jerk Chicken bites, Shrimp and Grits, the list goes on!! Best food in Dallas!!!!
Wow, excellent food and excellent service. Jolie was impressive from the moment I met her until the wedding day. My family and friends were extremely impressed and I will definetly use her in the future. I would recommend Low Country Quisine to anyone who wants an excellent overall experience, you will not regret it. The peach tea and crab cakes was to die for. I can't wait to visit the new restaurant...... She went above and beyond my expectations.
A friend had a party in which LCQ was the caterer, I embarrassed myself with repeat visits to the buffet! There was NO other option as far as caterers go for my big day, and to me, the food is in the top 3 most important planning items. Not only is the food quality and absolutely delicious, but the staff is most accommodating and professional. Very rarely are excellent service and an excellent product paired, I give LCQ four thumbs up! -From me and Hubby!
Jolie at LCQ could have not been more personalble, professional and talented!! My guests could not stop talking about the food. It was amazing! The presentation was classy and elegant. I could not have asked for more!
I used Low Country Quisine to cater my wedding and it was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day! Except for saying yes to my husband:) The food was AH-MAZING. My guest are still talking about it... If you're looking for delicious, beautifully presented food, and good customer service call Jolie' of Low Country Quisine. She's personable, dependable, and willing to help you make your day special!
I recently used Low Country Quisine's services for my wedding and I am so happy that we did! My guest loved the food and the talk of the night was..." Who made the Peach Tea." Enjolik will impress you the moment you first meet her and she pays attention to all the small details. You are truly in for a treat when you book her for your occasion! I tried 5 other vendors before deciding on booking her and we were blessed to find someone who is passionate about making your day a special one. Good luck on your special day!
I stumbled upon LCQ at an event and fell in love with their food. Since our venue/restaurant for the wedding reception was already booked, we decided we could still be able to enjoy a dessert bar by LCQ. Everyone raved about the colorful fruit kabobs with chocolate sauce, the 3 different mini cupcakes, and the 2 lavish types of mini cheesecakes. I am definitely going to use them again...maybe when its time for, i don't know, a baby shower? ;)
