VERY DISAPPOINTED! As soon as Denise received my deposit she disappeared! I have been trying to reach her since March 5 by phone, email and certified letter with absolutely no response. As a bride and nurse, this is a very difficult time for me and I would have expected my wedding planner to assist me with postponing my May wedding, but she is nowhere to be found! There are hundreds of other wedding planners here in Charleston, SC, save yourself time and money and DO NOT book with Lowcountry Event Design.
Denise is absolutely amazing! She is reliable, prompt, friendly, organized, and fun. As a previous event industry professional I could not have picked a more perfect planner for our special day! From rentals to design, she does it all. I recommend her and her team for anyone’s special day! I am so happy I chose her to be apart of our special day. So so so great!!
So, I am not the type of person that usually writes reviews but in this case I felt like I needed to share my/our experience. Initially we hired Lowcountry Event Design for all of our flowers, some decorations and lighting. It wasn’t long into our contract that I realized I was a little more in over my head than I had thought. I reached out to Denise and she immediately put my mind at ease. We decided to hire them for coordination and setting up/cleaning up our wedding. Best decision ever by the way! Each time I had a question or concern she was right there with an answer, I felt like she was truly a part of the wedding and wanted us to have a perfect day. Through everything I feel like I made a million changes and edits but Denise didn’t miss a beat or give me a hard time. Let me tell you, my wedding flowers we’re GORGEOUS!! Beyond my dreams. She took my random thoughts, crazy Pinterest ideas and wrapped them all together into the most perfect arrangements. Our guests raved at how beautiful everything turned out. The staff at Lowcountry Event Design were very easy to work with. They were efficient and friendly. Everything was just perfect. Just like they said, they were the first ones there and the last ones to leave, and we had “no worries”. Which I think is one of Denise’s signature phrases- ya know like Chic-Fil-A’s “my pleasure”. Our wedding went off without any glitches, everything was on time, even a few of my vendors have commented on how pleasant Denise was to work with. I am astounded at how perfectly everything came together. I wish we could re-live our day over and over. Thank you Denise and staff for the hard work you put in preparing our wedding! We LOVE y’all!!
I’m not sure where to begin, but our experience with Lowcountry Event Design was beyond words! Denise was incredibly attentive, resourceful, and organized throughout the entire planning process, as was her entire team.
They kept us on track on our wedding day and alleviated so much stress. We truly were able to enjoy everything because we had them. During the rehearsal Denise took the reigns and made sure everyone knew where they should be and what they should be doing. She even made it fun for our little attendants! She has a kind personality that makes you feel like family.
On our wedding day I knew I had nothing to worry about because Denise was “on-it”. Every little detail was perfect, every step of the way I felt comfortable, happy and relaxed. I couldn’t have asked for a better planner and I am beyond grateful that we had Denise and her team helping us throughout the entire process.
I would absolutely recommend Denise and her team to anyone!
We hired Lowcountry Event Design for our wedding florals and decorating. Denise was the first vendor I spoke with that I felt comfortable with after our initial consultation. She understood my very specific vision and was a complete doll through the entire process. Denise and her team did an extraordinary job at my wedding and we are still getting compliments on how beautiful everything was. Each and every thing that was on my wish list was exactly like I wanted. She made sure everything was classy and elegant yet stayed in our budget. The flowers in my bouquet smelled so good! We sent a few of the arrangements home with family and they were such great quality that they lasted for almost 2 weeks after the wedding! We are very glad we chose them and wouldn’t hesitate if we needed flowers in the future.
Hiring a wedding planner was a very difficult decision for us. I am very much a do-it-yourself kind of girl, and was unsure if a wedding planner was something that we reaaallly needed. Plus, finding someone you can trust with such an important day seemed like an unrealistic goal. That was until we were referred to Denise & O with Lowcountry Event Design. Denise is not only professional, trendy and uber organized but she’s also very friendly and sweet. She was quick to respond to any questions we had. If I could go back and start it all over again I would definitely not hesitate in contacting and hiring Denise as my planner. If you are looking for someone you can trust and put you at ease then you should absolutely hire her! Denise goes above and beyond for her clients and we quickly realized how much she loves what she does and how passionate she is about helping couples plan beautiful weddings! We loved having her and Orpria be part of our wedding! We highly recommend Lowcountry Event Design.
Denise and the staff at Lowcountry Events Design are the best thing that can happen to you if you are planning a wedding. My husband and I live in Illinois and both have demanding careers that consume much of our time and energy. We could have not pulled off our destination wedding without Denise. From our first meeting we instinctively knew that we had to book them . She was incredibly professional throughout the entire process, very polite, thoughtful and gave superb advice. She helped us create every element including booking the best vendors, organizing each moment, and ensuring that each tiny request we had was implemented. When we arrived in Charleston Denise and the staff provided us and our guests with personal attention. There were even surprises for us in our room from the company upon arrival. I’ve never experienced a company or employee for that matter that cared as much about what they do as Denise and the staff. Our wedding week was amazing, everything was as planned, and the most gorgeous day I could have hoped for. We will absolutely be sending our newly engaged friends and family your way! 💕
Do NOT book this company for your wedding! I made that awful mistake back in the fall and 1 week before my wedding I regretted it. I booked this vendor for cafe lighting for my wedding back in November and paid the 50% deposit. Back then Denise seemed very nice and professional. It wasn't until 2 weeks before my wedding the rest of the balance was due and all of a sudden Denise was MIA. I emailed her many times, called everyday, and left multiple voicemails for 8 consecutive days. Not once did I receive a response or a call back until I posted on a local bridal facebook post asking if anyone else had hired her. Once I called out Denise and Lowcountry Event design on facebook then they finally responded 5 days before my wedding. Making excuses saying there was change in management, Denise no longer with the company but is still the owner if that makes sense? But no, that doesn't make sense. How can the owner of a company fail to respond to a booked client for services?? Unacceptable. And no bride should have to go through that, especially not the week of her wedding. Then they said they were still doing my cafe lighting but then wanted another $200. After that I told them I no longer needed their services and would like a full refund. It's been 3 weeks now and still haven't gotten a response for my refund for the deposit money. Shocker! Brides, do not book this company!!!! Denise might've been great a few years ago but her company sucks now!
Thank ya'll so much! I am so thankful we had y'all on our planning adventure! Denise and D were our planning team and they were beyond awesome. We stuck together through everything and it really paid off! They are honest and helpful in every way. Planning all the little things was not my thing, but talking with them just a few times I could really feel they knew what we wanted. I kinda wish that I hadn't already booked other services before finding them because their team made everything easy peasy. We just showed up... and had the party of a lifetime. Every single person on their team was constantly checking on us to make sure we had anything and everything we needed the whole night. My hubby even had them surprise me with the sweetest gifts waiting in our room. They promised a flawless stress free day and oh boy did they deliver!
Awful fake company! BEWARE! Their house is now on the market in the sc area.. looks like they are collecting deposits and skipping town! Anyone on this site that is in the same situation as us please feel free to reach out as we will be pursing legal actions and its helps to build a case when you show a trend not just one situation. THE KNOT NEEDS to take her off their list of providers so this does not happen to anyone else! STAY AWAY !
I hired Denise back in August 2017 and everything seemed to be going great. We connected pretty quickly which made me feel confident in her ability. She told me she would be sending a package with vendor information and it never came in the mail. When I asked her about it she said it must have gotten lost so she would send another one with a tracking number and she would email me with some vendor information. I never received the email or the second package. When it came time to finalize the venue contract she worked really hard all day making sure the paper work was sent and the deposit paid. After that I never heard from her and that was October 31st. I assumed it was the holidays and let it pass. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt when I didn't hear a reply in November and gave the month of December a break as well. I tried reaching out again in January to no reply. I went a little over board and checked the company facebook page and saw she posted in January. This really upset me so I searched her personal page and she was able to post on there as well. I find that if you are capable of posting on social media then you are capable of reply to emails AND texts. I sent an urgent email in February with concerns and also did not receive a reply. I have now decided she is no longer capable of working with me and has voided our contract. I doubt at this point she is even replying to message and inquiries here but if she does I wouldn't even consider her. She owes me the deposit back and I am willing to take legal action to receive it. This is a warning to ANYONE considering her or has already hired her and in the same situation!
DO NOT HIRE! I made the mistake of hiring Lowcountry Event Design for my upcoming wedding in June 2018. I hired Denise and her team for my wedding in July of 2017 and by August I stopped hearing from her. At first everything seemed great, my fiance and I met with her and she seemed to have a good plan and then it all went downhill. I asked a simple question about hotel room blocks for my guests and never received a response. I sent multiple e-mails, calls and texts and finally I got a generic e-mail from her company in October that Denise had been in an accident but would be back within 2-3 weeks. Clearly that did not happen and that was the last I heard from anyone. I have continued to e-mailed, call, texted and even went as far as sending the company a Facebook messaged but NOTHING! I paid a large deposit to have Lowcountry help me and have been not treated professionally at all. There are plenty of qualified and amazing planners in the Charleston area and I would NOT recommend using Lowcountry Event Design for your wedding.
I have to start by saying I am a very type-A personality. It takes a special soul to be able to understand my thought processes and deal with my compulsions. Denise and her team are those special souls. The very first time we communicated through email we connected. Denise is kind and thoughtful. She's incredibly detailed and cares about the things that are important to you! My husband and I are forever thankful for all of the help they were, from planning, during the wedding, and even afterwards. I will never forget her holding my hand and praying with me before I walked in to the venue <3.Everything was absolutely perfect. Thank you for ensuring that our wedding was exactly the way we had hoped, and more. Thank you for the gorgeous flowers, the special surprises, and being not only my planner but a friend. You are a true gem! If you're on the fence about booking a planner, don't be... hire Lowcountry Event Design... seriously do it... like yesterday!
First off...Denise is so amazing!
Our wedding was in May of this year. My (now) husband and I were living in Alabama trying to plan our Charleston wedding... while I was in nursing school... and all of my family living in NC where we were planning/making most of our wedding decorations by hand... that was all a nightmare on its own!!
Denise was so patient with me and all of my worried emails! We purchased the "month of" package because I had planned all of the vendors, etc myself. Can I just say... that having Denise there to take charge of everything so that neither I or my family would have to worry about a thing was such a blessing!! When it came down to wedding week and we were all in Charleston, I was so at peace! How many brides can say that (haha)!?
Also...our wedding was outside and it rained the entire morning into the afternoon. We had to arrange everything last minute... but Denise had back up plans already in place! It was like we had planned it to rain all along!
It was also VERY convenient that she had her own rental equipment/decor. We ended up needing a few extra tables and some other stuff last minute, and it was so nice not to have to look up another vendor or sign another contract! That was a huge plus!!
Denise took care of it all, from setting up all of our homemade decorations, to making sure Ben and I actually sat down to eat our food during the reception (which probably never would have happened!)! Denise thought of everything!! She was always so sweet, always responded very quickly to my emails, made sure everyone was where they needed to be and stayed on schedule, and she took soooo much stress off of us so that we could actually enjoy our big day! I can't thank her enough for helping our wedding day to be absolutely perfect! I couldn't have done it without her!
Simply amazing! Where do I begin?! We started planning our Charleston destination wedding and I quickly became overwhelmed. From the moment I emailed Lowcountry Event Design and I got a response from Denise my heart and mind were at ease. We hired them for complete planning ( thank goodness) and they actually did our flowers and rentals too which saved so much headache. She took my scattered ideas and created the most magical day for my husband and I and our family & friends. We got fab referrals to vendors from Denise which was a godsend being out of state. Honest, trustworthy, and kind hearted absolutely describe her- and team. They worked with our schedule and were our go- tos on the ground in Charleston through the year long planning. Her team was super professional and made my wedding Pinterest board come to life. Her assistant was sweet too. The day they worked tirelessly , I still am in awe looking at the photos of just what they were able to accomplish! Denise is a master at being able to multitask- like I mean doing 15 things at once and not breaking a sweat and continuing to smile her calming smile. She even bustled my dress when my mph couldn't figure it out and changed my shoes.. what!! I am forever thankful for their hard work, vision and calm demeanor. Thank you for making our wedding the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! We couldn't have done it without you!
I can't wait to have the opportunity to work with Denise further. Before she even knew me she willing to lend things to me and help in anyway. She has such a good heart! Thank you Denise.
Words can't express how appreciative I am of Denise! She's so incredibly bubbly and outgoing and knew what to say at any given moment to keep me calm. Hands down the best wedding planner!
Denise and her team were an absolute joy to work with! I was completely overwhelmed with planning our wedding but Denise jumped right in, calmed me down and truly helped us have the wedding of our dreams. Her vendor suggestions were on point, we could not have asked for a better group of people! Oh my gosh, her RENTALS- saved us a ton of money and she even found us vintage furniture that fit exactly how I had hoped but couldn't figure out. LED designed, and delivered our flowers, wow is all I can say, I actually cried ( happy tears) when they arrived because they were so much more gorgeous than I had expected. The staff was super professional and Denise and her assistant were right by our sides for anything we needed. Her smiling face was there comforting me the entire day/night and for that I am most grateful. I don't know what I would have done without Denise and her A Team of amazing folks! Thank you thank you thank you for making everything we wanted could me true!!
I can't say enough good things about Denise from Lowcountry Event Design. We hired LED for our rentals and for planning and day of. For one, we moved our wedding date twice after we signed our contract, and she worked with us without skipping a beat. We changed our color scheme multiple times from start of weddin planning to actual wedding day. Denise rolled with everything we threw at her, and she made us feel like everything was going to be ok - and everything turned out actually spectacular. She threw in a multitude of decoration and other wedding day items that we didn't consider or just forgot (like a card box). We got a lot of bang for our buck and it allowed to stay in budget without having to sacrifice anything in our wedding. She was a joy to work with - profesional, competent, organized, and a welcomed friend to the bride and groom on the wedding day. I would recommend her and LED to any couple, in a heartbeat.
I cannot thank Denise & her team enough for everything! From helping us with the long list of rentals needed to being our “Day of Coordinator” and keeping all of us sane on the big day. She was simply AMAZING, and so was her team. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better team to be by my/our side! She helped my mom and I pick out and find all of the rental items, and then went ABOVE & BEYOND on the actual day of the wedding. I can’t stress enough just how grateful I am to have had her there that day! Denise and her team were prompt and professional, yet friendly and easygoing – which helped keep me (all of us) calm – thank God! My husband and I could not believe how much she was doing for us that day – from making sure the timeline was being followed effectively and efficiently, to making sure our drinks were always full – and all with the biggest smile on her face! Again, she was simply amazing…and we cannot thank her enough for making it the best day of our lives.
Denise is absolutely amazing to work with! We used LED for all our rentals as well as day of coordination. Denise was so helpful and responsive from the very beginning! She was so patient with me changing and adding things to our rental list- and really helped me to find all the perfect items to help complete my vision. On the day of the wedding she had absolutely everything under control and helped to calm me down anytime I started to get worried about something. Every detail was perfect and the entire night went even better than we could have hoped for- thanks to her! We cannot thank her enough for everything!
Denise was unbelievable to work with for our wedding rentals. She was consistently flexible with our ever-changing list of rentals. She patiently tolerated the many edits we made over the months, and even surprised us with rentals we had to remove due to budget concerns! When we attempted to remove a key ceremony piece, she quickly talked us out of it; now we are forever grateful as it was an integral part of our wedding day! Her team was prompt and efficient, and everything was set up perfectly. We felt like we received a truly personal experience that may not have been received from the larger rental companies. We are extremely grateful to Denise and her team.
Planning our destination wedding would have not been the same had we not had Lowcountry Event's team on our side. We cannot thank Denise and her staff enough! Being more than 1000 miles away made it difficult for us to attend meetings, but Denise jumped in, attended in our place and referred us to remarkable vendors. Our wedding was gorgeous and everything we wanted plus more. My wife and I were able to relax and actually enjoy the celebrations knowing everything was taken care of. Saying "thank-you" is not enough! If you are hesitant on hiring a wedding planner, don't be. Denise is one of a kind.
Denise and her crew were fabulous! We used Denise as our coordinator and also for all of our rentals. Everyone was very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Denise to anyone! Our day was perfect and Denise handled any concerns without batting an eye - she was AMAZING!!
I've worked with a ton of wedding and event planners. The great ones make it all look really easy. Denise @ Lowcountry Event Design did just that during an event I was a part of. She was professional, directing vendors and staff with ease. I personally saw her check in with vendors throughout the night to make sure they had what they needed. She took amazing care of the bride as well. The ability to juggle everything a wedding day throws at you and still retain a personable, friendly attitude is not easy, but Denise handled it all perfectly. There's really no reason to plan your wedding or event alone when you have people like Denise that can help make it a smashing success!
I worked along side Lowcountry Event Design at a wedding recently (as the photographer) and they were great! Organized, detail oriented and dedicated! I hope to work with them again soon!
Denise with Lowcountry Event Design made my wedding more than I could have imagined. She is so thoughtful, the extra details and added touches still amaze me as I look through pictures. They have some awesome rental prices- I was able to save a ton of money by renting everything with them. Even her staff was easy to work with. You will not be disappointed - best coordinator in South Carolina right here!!
Denise did a fantastic job help planning my wedding!!! She told me from the beginning she loves being on a mission and she proved it by planning our big day in under 3 months! Denise planned out a budget for us and recommended great vendors. With her other business Lowcountry Craft Shack, she even made personalized corn hole boards for my husband's wedding gift. Everything came together so beautifully on our big day and she was at the venue bright and early to start setting up. All the decor and display is exactly what we had discussed and what I had visioned. Denise and her team were very professional and a delight to work with. There's not enough thank you's I can say to express how happy we are with our wedding day.
