Lucy Wu Floral Design

I chose Lucy Wu for our wedding at the New York Athletic Club because it was clear to me that she is extremely passionate about flowers and works incredibly hard to make sure someone’s wedding day is absolutely perfect. We had about 200 guests at our wedding, and Lucy created the most elegant, classy and full centerpieces for the reception and chuppah for the ceremony. After doing much research on New York florists, it became apparent that Lucy offers the best value in the city – she works very hard to fit your budget, and after setting a price range, she goes above and beyond to make sure the flowers on your wedding day look more high caliber than the flowers provided by the most expensive florists in town. From our very first meetings, Lucy spent hours with me to determine color themes and styles – she listens to what you want, but also provides meaningful feedback and suggestions based on her experience. She won’t let you make a bad decision. Our wedding was in October, and after conveying to her that I wanted a very autumn feel for the reception, she designed the most beautiful bright red orchid and mango calla lily centerpieces, giving the NYAC ballroom a very warm autumn feeling. I borrowed my friend’s chuppah, and Lucy’s team even picked up the huge structure from my apartment, brought it to the New York Athletic Club and decorated it with the most gorgeous white flowers. It looked lush and classy – it was the perfect amount of flowers for the ceremony. Our guests are tough critics when it comes to weddings – and we received endless praise of our incredible wedding flowers – everyone from extended family, friends and even our bosses. To sum up, Lucy not only gets the job done, but she gets it done well. I will be going to Lucy Wu for all of my flower needs for years and years to come.

I actually found Lucy through the Knot so, it's so appropriate that I come back to leave a review. She was absolutely amazing. From the intial consultation through the wedding day, I felt completely comfortable and she made my special day even more spectacular. One of my biggest fears in planning my wedding was the cost of flowers because I heard that the bill can get quite large. My wedding looked lush with flowers (ceremony and reception) and It was extremely affordable! My bouquet was the most beautful bouquet I have ever seen and my guests are still talking about it. If you are in NY (city or suburbs) and need flowers, call Lucy!

my fiance and i met with lucy several months ago for a consultation, during which she quickly demonstrated that she is a dream come true for bridezillas, and bridezillas only. she barely listened to what my fiance and i wanted. when i told her that we didn't want a sweetheart table because we were planning on sitting with our family during the reception, she quickly told me that we were to sit far away from all our guests the entire night and not make deep conversations with anyone-- the only thing we were to do was pose with them and look pretty for photos. really?! we tried to make it clear to her that what we wanted out of the wedding was not a celebration of ourselves, but rather a celebration of our loved ones who helped me get to where we are today-- truly happy and in love. but i don't think she heard any of it. just as she didn't hear us when we said we loved orchids and calla lilies-- she was dead set on peonies, because "it is the best." so if you are looking for what the industry perceives to be "the best," perhaps lucy will be a good florist for you. but if you want a down-to-earth event that is well-suited to you and your guests, look elsewhere. lastly, although i followed up with her twice after our consultation (because our photographer-- whom we love-- highly recommended her), lucy never delivered the quote that she promised. she wrote to me several times in a row promising that she would send it to me "in a few days," but never did. just as well. perhaps she sensed that we were on completely different pages, or perhaps she simply knew that she couldn't get us to agree to exorbitant bridezilla-pricing, but the way she handled it was extremely unprofessional.

I don't know where to begin. First, I couldn't have had the most beautiful wedding if it wasn't for Lucy. She is the owner and you work directly with her. She is so creative and helps you get the look that you are looking for while sticking with your budget. I interviewed many florists and all either ignored my budget completely or ignored what I wanted. Most of the venues in the NYC area are large and expensive companies. They do multiple wedding at the same time and you don't have the personalized attention. They also charge you so much for so little. All of these companies in the NYC area had the same generic ideas and wanted to charge me so much. Then I found Lucy Wu. She creatively worked with my budget to get exactly what I wanted, exactly what I wanted and more! She was so creative and came up with so many beautiful suggestions that made my wedding even more beautiful and elegant than what I imagined. She had so many creative ideas and suggestions that you can't find with other florists. My wedding wouldn't have been as amazing and beautiful without Lucy. She went above and beyond to help ensure that my wedding was beautiful and gave so much of her personal attention to make sure I was happy. I love her and owe her so much for making my wedding look absolutely beautiful.
