Luminous Events of New Orleans

Luminous Events was probably the most difficult of my eleven vendors to work with. I was planning my own wedding, and I had a day-of-coordinator. I do wonder if some of my difficulty with them was because they only want to work with a wedding planner, not the bride. They are pretty slow at emailing back, so communication was always a little bit of a challenge. We did have a walk-through at the reception venue to make sure the bar, bar-backs, stage fronts, and uplighting would work in the space. We discussed that we would be doing a large floral arrangement on top of the bar-backs like one of their instagram posts involving that bar-back set. They delivered all of our rentals on time, but they never mentioned that we would need to make sure to have our own board to put on top of the bar back for the floral arrangement to be possible. Therefore, when our florist arrived to put the (very pricey) installation we had planned on top of the barback, she couldn’t install it because she hadn’t been made aware she needed to bring her own board. When my day-of-coordinator called Luminous Events to see if maybe they had forgotten the board and could bring it, they were pretty short with her and unapologetic about the issue. The florist had to sort of wedge the installation on the top shelf of the bar back, and it ended up just looking sort of smashed and just overall not great. The rentals from Luminous Events were very pretty, but the biggest disappointment for me of the entire wedding was probably how bad the floral arrangement looked squished in that bar-back shelf because Luminous Events had not been clear in their communication during our planning process.

I absolutely loved working with luminous for my wedding day. They made everything absolutely perfect and my vision of my dream wedding come to life!!! They were so easy to work with and made me feel so secure with each choice I made! I would absolutely recommend using them!

Wow, wow. Our wedding at Latrobe's was absolutely goooooooorgeous and it's due in such a large part to Luminous Events! Lisa clearly knew the venue like the back of her hand and had wonderful suggestions. Our wedding was absolutely stunning with all the candlelight and it was truly worth every penny. Luminous Events came highly recommended from our venue and we could not have been happier with their service and our decorations! I planned our wedding long-distance and Lisa and her team made it so easy. They asked all of the right questions and worked with us on a proposal virtually. My wife and I got married last weekend at The Chicory in New Orleans, and Luminous made the entire venue look absolutely DREAMY! We had a vision in mind for our wedding, and Lisa and her team at Luminous exceeded all our expectations. All of our centerpieces, geometric lanterns, and ambiance blew away all of our guests. The biggest highlight for many were the floating tea candles above the reception area - it made the dance floor incredible. Lisa and her team went above and beyond to make sure every little detail was exactly how we wanted it. She knew the venue so well that she could even give us recommendations on number of items/ candles/etc to use in certain places. 11/10 would recommend!

Lisa and team were the only company to agree to make a wooden cross for us for our wedding date. Additionally, a week before the wedding they were flexible enough to allow us to tack on hedge walls and a photo sign for our big day. We are forever thankful for Luminous Events working with us during an unexpected crazy time with our COVID19 wedding.

• No words can describe how beautiful Luminous Events made our wedding. We first met Luminous Events at their office where we had a great initial discussion on how we wanted our wedding to look. The owner joked with my dad about never having a king cake and stated that he must get a king cake before we had our wedding in New Orleans (this was a destination wedding… and we did get my dad a king cake before the wedding). Their expertise really came in handy as they had so many great ideas and suggestions. Their selection of furniture and décor was unmatched. We had gorgeous lanterns lining the entrance and aisle of our wedding. They used a beautiful arch for the altar. They also supplied the prettiest pink couches that worked perfectly with our color scheme…and that’s only a few examples of everything they did. Overall, they made our dream wedding into a reality. We are confident that no one else could have done a better job than Luminous Events.

Luminous is providing candles/decor for my October 2020 wedding at Latrobes. Soon after I submitted a request for pricing, etc. from Lisa, she called me and talked to me about what I envisioned for the wedding. She is super approachable and excited to make your dreams a reality! She's also really happy to work within a budget--for example, I was honest about wanting to stick very close to the minimum $$ and not wanting to overwhelm the natural beauty of Latrobes with too much decor. She is happy to work within those specifications, and I know that the wedding this October will be gorgeous! She also works really well with my florist and the venue. Planning is going so smoothly thanks to a great team that works well together--I'm not stressed at all! Thanks, Lisa! (P.S. COVID-19 sucks!)

Caroline was incredible. I could barely articulate my wedding "vision", and what she was able to come up with was PERFECT! They helped us build a style and vision for the decor, and we were beyond happy with the results. They crushed it. The decor at our reception was beautiful and represented us so well. They found a way to incorporate the neon "cheers" sign at our venue too, which I really wanted and was a really fun touch. They are really responsive and easy to work with, and since I planned our wedding pretty much entirely on my own, this was a much appreciated bonus.

She sent me different ideas with variation in price so I could pick what would work best with my budget. Caroline was such a pleasure to work with and she even came out on multiple occasions to the venue. I asked for firefly lights and firefly lights we got. They even installed this amazing light structure to hang terrariums over the dance floor. Austin and I couldn’t be more happy how it turned out. Thank you again and we highly recommend using Luminous for your events!

Lisa and Caroline were great! They built a beautiful mandap for our Hindu ceremony in conjunction with our florist and designed simple centerpieces with candles that matched our aesthetic and tied together our boho chic New Orleans venue with our Indian wedding. They were communicative, easy to work with, and gave great recommendations. They were also completely respectful of our budget and very flexible when creating their proposal. Finally, they were able to accommodate inclement weather that required us to alter our floor plan at the last minute.

Caroline was a pleasure to work with! She took my vision and ran with it! I loved that she provided different options and was able to easily add and remove them from what I can only describe as a "visual invoice?" We chose a transitioned warehouse space for our wedding and it was important to me to keep it's charm, but give it a little sparkle. Caroline's execution was spot on. My venue assured me I was in good hands and they were correct!

If I could give this company 10 stars I would!! They are amazing and made my ceremony and reception absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! My reception was in a blank tent with nothing in it but a concrete floor and they made it come to life with simple elegant touches! All my guests couldn’t stop complimenting how stunning all the decorations were! They were always willing to work with me and were able to capture my vision from just a phone conversation! They were willing to work with other vendors such as the florist to really create just the look I wanted. Lisa and Caroline were both so incredible to work with and I couldn’t have ask for my wedding to be in better hands! Hands down would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding!!

Weddings are always a stress but without a doubt, Luminous Events alleviated a lot of my work and fears. It is hard for brides to let go (and I am worse than most) but I truly was able to do that with this vendor because I had such a high level of trust in their work. From the onset and initial inquiries, there was always a great balance of professionalism and friendliness, which is what you want in a vendor. I loved meeting Lisa and Caroline and the rest of the team, and had such a relief to be able to turn the design over into their very capable hands. They are also very reasonable in their pricing - what you get in concept and beauty is far more valuable in the costs. Our guests were blown away with the lighting and décor, and it was definitely an area of the wedding planning / budget well spent. They were receptive to feedback while at the same time able to execute direction and give me specific recommendations. I would 100% book with Luminous Events.

There is something magical about working with Luminous! They made destination wedding planning in NOLA from California soooo easy! Caroline was amazing - she creates a vision board for you with the options of what they recommend! The vision board they create allows you to log on and visually see the pieces they have in their warehouse. Both of my wedding venues (Pharmacy Museum & Brennans) were courtyards and I wanted to add a chandelier to both venues! OH, SO BEAUTIFUL! They got my vision - the chandeliers were perfect. They recommended the most perfect pieces to leave the courtyards so iconic! Another amazing perk - is that they work well with all the venue coordinators - they make things happen! Caroline just called my Ashley at Brennans and made the best decision for all of us - so it was so much easier for me - the bride! Thank you Luminous - from your gorgeous gold floating candles, to the chandeliers, and most importantly your beautiful positive attitude to making wedding magic possible. Thank you for making our destination wedding - so magical for everyone who traveled from California! They all fell in love with NOLA - and that was the goal!

I highly recommend this vendor. If you have no idea what you want, you know exactly, or you fall somewhere in between, they're perfect. Caroline was our contact throughout this process and she couldn't have made it a better experience than she did. I barely had an idea of what I wanted. Caroline made me feel as comfortable as if I was talking to a friend rather than someone trying to secure my business. She met with my family and I as well as our florist (Herbivore Floral Designs) to talk out our ideas. Caroline took her time to go through picture after picture to get an understanding of what I liked when I had no idea myself. She listened to everyone's opinions, but made sure she ultimately brought focus back to me. She showed us the exact items in their warehouse that would be used so there were no doubts as to what it would look like. After the meeting, she sent us an itemized list of everything we had chosen. We met again to make the final decisions where she gladly made suggestions of items that could be omitted without affecting the vision should we need to for cost effectiveness. Caroline was readily available by phone or email for any questions or concerns we had and was prompt with her return correspondence. With something as special as your wedding, it's hard to have that blind trust in anything pertaining to it, but Luminous and Caroline made everything as easy, effortless, and breathtakingly gorgeous as possible. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful it all turned out.

Luminous brought to life a romantic WONDERLAND for our wedding. They listened to my vision and executed in a more spectacular way than I could have ever imagined. In addition to the reception dripping in beautiful candle light, Luminous provided the champagne walls for the reception entrance (OMG 10/10 would recommend for a grand and fun entrance that gets the party started) AND a beautiful neon sign + wooden backdrop for the band. I would give them 100 stars if I could - Luminous is the best in the business!

A little over a month ago, my husband and I got married at Race + Religious. Though the venue is truly beautiful on its own, Luminous Events made it absolutely magical. And working with the Luminous team was pretty magical too. We initially met with Caroline in August, just four months prior to our wedding day, and she was extremely personable. She really took the stress out of lighting/décor planning and made it FUN! We gave her a general idea of the aesthetic/ambiance we were going for, and she presented several décor options that perfectly met our expectations. She even created a wish list of our favorite items for my [now] husband and me to review on our own. We left knowing we were in good hands. Several weeks later, my husband and I stumbled upon some lanterns that we absolutely fell in love with. Luminous not only agreed to hang a seemingly endless supply of their lights but also incorporated our own special pieces... No challenge deterred them. On the day of the wedding, they managed to string light strand upon light strand, hang lanterns and bubbles galore, and arrange an abundance of candles--to name just a few things--in the blink of an eye. The amount of work they did in such a small amount of time is nothing short of amazing; in fact the work they did in general was nothing short of amazing. Looking at photos of their work from our wedding day still takes my breath away. Bottom line: Their work is phenomenal. Working with Caroline was a dream. And it wasn't until after the planning phase was over that I got to meet the rest of the Luminous team... but I have to say that they are so sweet, they will melt your heart. You can truly tell that they love what they do, and it shows in their work. And isn't love what we should celebrate most in this industry?

Luminous Events created the atmosphere of our dreams. Everything was stunning from the lanterns down the aisle of the church to all of the beautiful details at the theater. Luminous events was such a wonderful vendor to work with! My wedding was November 3, 2018 at Il Mercato and they made the space look incrediable. Candles everywhere made the most magical setting!! Also, we rented the green velvet couch and chairs to sit in front of the fire place and it looked incrediable! For our DJ backdrop, Luminous actually used green hedge walls and turned them metallic gold with floating selves and candles. It was all so perfect!

We had a GREAT experience working with Caroline and the rest of the Luminous team. Our wedding was at Stella Plantation in Nov. Heading into our wedding day, we still weren't sure if we would have the ceremony outside or inside, given temperamental weather. Caroline called us the day before and offered to do lighting inside and outside so that we could push our decision until the wedding day! They did all this at no additional cost:-) Overall, they are thorough professionals who demonstrate flexibility and excellence in all they do. I'd recommend them to future couples in a heartbeat.

The VERY first thing that brought a tear to my eye on my wedding day was the moment I opened the reception doors to see the absolute PERFECTION inside. Luminous Events brought my dream to LIFE!!! Caroline and Luminous Events helped create an elegant and timeless look for our Royal Sonesta wedding ceremony and reception. We walked into their showroom with plans to pull a wedding together in one month with no firm idea of look or theme (I won't say clueless as I had browsed their Instagram page). When we walked out, I finally had a sense that we could pull this off. They helped coordinate a group meeting with the florist which I think was awesome and I could not picture effectively planning a wedding any other way. Caroline was patient (and more patient), helpful and creative. She paid attention to our budget and really went above and beyond in helping us stay in budget. We had multiple floor plan changes and Caroline took them in stride. On the day of the wedding, we had to change from a courtyard ceremony to an indoor ceremony and the design change was executed flawlessly without any added stress to us as the couple and I could have not been more pleased. Set up and take down were included in pricing and there were no unexpected costs. They were a true pleasure to work with and I can truly recommend their services without any reservations.

Luminous created the exact glow-y look and feeling I had hoped for in both the dinner and reception spaces at my wedding! It was so fun to work with Lisa, and I knew I wanted to hire her immediately after our first meeting where she showed off all her wonderful inventory and seemed genuinely excited about her job!

When we decided to have an outdoor wedding, our wedding coordinator said she had just the right company to transform our yard into a magical, romantic, beautiful venue. Boy! was she right. Lisa, Jason, and the entire team from Luminous came and immediately caught our vision for a lovely outdoor spring wedding. From the candles surrounding the pool, the uplighting in the tent and entrance, to a million flickering candles, our guests were blown away. We loved using Luminous Events for our wedding! We were impressed from start to finish. Once we sent them our ideas/vision board they created a comprehensive plan for the design and decor of our ceremony and reception. They had so many options and were able to do absolutely anything. Lisa was great - we were nervous to have a destination wedding in New Orleans, but when we met with her we immediately felt confident she would make our venue look perfect. The lights at our wedding reception were so magical and unique. She definitely made our vision come to life - one of my favorite parts was the candle garden that she put in the fireplace (where we were married in front of). It was gorgeous and seriously enhanced the space, made the vibe romantic. Lighting was a big part of why our reception was perfect, thanks to Luminous.

Simply amazing. We decided not to use a florist for our wedding, and went with rose petals and candle lit lanterns. Lisa was incredible! When we met with her, she had a ton of lanterns to choose from and even emailed us pictures along with our proposal. She was so easy to work with and you can tell she is doing what she loves. Originally, they were booked up for my weekend and could not accept my business, but a cancellation or change opened them up to me, and I immediately booked them. And I'm glad I did! I had a fabulous time conversing with Lisa LaFrance about our plans for our wedding. That woman knows candles! Our venue looked fabulous with their handiwork sparkling throughout the ceremony and reception. I loved working with them. High recommend!

I cannot say enough about this incredible candle vendor. I never dreamed I would need a specific person for this part of my wedding, but WOW am I glad I did and even more so glad I chose Lisa and the folks at Luminous. She outdid herself completely. Wow! Wow! Wow! Lisa and Jason from Luminous Events are decor geniuses! Our ceremony and reception were stunning because of the ideas and hardwork that these two put it in to it. Our dream was to have a wedding like no other seen before and they made it happen. Chandeliers, candelabras, draping, a custom built Edison light structure, the works. Lisa listened to our ideas and created the most beautiful setting we (and our guests) have ever seen. I cannot recommend them enough. They were responsive, creative and a sheer joy to work with. Lisa and Natalie at Luminous are amazing. They really know their stuff and was able to guide me to making the best choices as well as put together the most beautiful night ever! We planned the wedding from afar and they were so easy to work with. Thanks for everything!

You cannot go wrong using Luminous Events to add beauty and elegance to your wedding! They created a wonderful, romantic feel for our ceremony and reception and made our venue look even more beautiful than I had even imagined. Our guests were blown away by the lighting plan that Lisa came up with for us! And did I mention that they are the BEST to work with? So creative, professional and Lisa is great at understanding the style you are going for and making it come to life!

Luminous Events was very easy to work with and they set up the ceremony room at Latrobe's just how I imagined it! Everything was perfect. Checks were being sent from out of town and there was some issues with receiving but Luminous Events was very understanding and worked with us! Highly recommend!

I loved the selection Luminous had for lighting choices. It wasn't all old school classics (of course those were on point) they also had new, trendy items to choose from as well. Everyone I worked with was so helpful and always available to answer any question I had. They also worked well with my other vendors (especially our florist). I really appreciate that!! We rented lighting options only for the reception at Latrobe's and it added so much to an already spectacular venue!! I was blown away!!

Lisa and Jason of Luminous Events are fabulous to work with. They spend so much of their OWN time making sure that everything goes well--instead of just hiring an outsider to take care of it, they do much of it themselves. The lighting at my wedding was amazing and we got numerous compliments from guests. They can make anything happen!!

We used Luminous Events for our wedding in July, and we were very pleased with everything they provided! I initially met with Lisa and went over options and what I liked. She sent me a proposal with pricing for different options and insipration photos. After we decided what we wanted, we met with her again at the venue, and when we showed up to the reception venue the night of thr wedding, everything was perfect! We did quite a bit of lighting (ceiling, wall behind band, table setting vandles/vases), and I really think it made the venue look extra special. Strongly receommend!!

My daughter was married in February 2014. The ceremony and reception were held at Latrobe's. Luminous Events made the venue look so amazing! The courtyard, where the ceremony was held, had hanging globes with candles near the "altar". This section of the venue was described by a guest as a "fairy tale". The candles in the windowsills and tables added the romantic aura that made the whole evening very romantic!

Luminous Events provides a wonderful service for brides. We used Luminous to provide table decorations and some ceremony decorations as well. I had a set budget for this but our total exceeded our budget by 1/3 (even removing a lot of things from my wish list). Lisa tries to work with you to fit in your budget but I found it very difficult unless you are willing to shell out at least 2K. Communication with Luminous is also sort of difficult as they always have an "Out of Office" reply on their email. I didn't receive much pre planning attention from Luminous (not sure if that was because I was an OOT bride). Overall Luminous is a nice service for candle decorations but be willing to really open your wallet and constantly try to contact them. The actual wedding day service is great but the managerial side of the business hasn't scaled well with their popularity.

From the moment I met Lisa, she made it very clear she completely understood my vision and helped me with even more ideas of greatness!! Luminous events helped bring my vision of glam and sparkle to life!! When I say that my reception decor took my breathe away, it REALLY took my breathe away!! I could hardly speak when I saw what our team of vendors created. I am so thankful for Luminous Events, their kindness, attention to detail, team work, and genuine compassion for what they do. My husband and I had a destination wedding in New Orleans in 2013. We found Luminous events on our venues preferred vendor list. From the moment they sent us their package of pictures of different options we were in love. Lighting was so important in our venue and Luminous really did an amazing job. We never had to worry about a thing & Lisa was so easy to work with. They were able to create a lovely atmosphere and keep us under budget. We would not have changed a thing.

These people are visionaries and make any venue so romantic. They give professional proposals and many options. Their staff if spectacular. I am giving their names to so many planning brides and hope that they can have the same wonderful worry free experience.

I was married last weekend at The Chicory and I am THRILLED that I chose to work with Lisa from Luminous Events. I never even got to see them the day of my wedding to thank them for making the space GLOW but seriously .. it was GLOWING. I knew that flowers weren't going to play a huge part at my reception but I knew I wanted it to be romantic .. dimly lit and whimsical. I had explained to her what I was looking for but didn't have much of an idea how to execute it. But that was no problem for her. She showed me some photos, I told her what I liked and didn't like and she went from there. She was BEYOND helpful and always answered all my questions and concerns. Then to see the final outcome .. it was BREATHTAKING. The ceremony had candles down the aisle with rose petals that just looked dreamy. It was perfect. There were candles EVERYWHERE and the whole place just felt warm. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how perfect the lighting was and that is all thanks to Luminous Events. It was everything. :-)

Her pieces were unique. I love her mansanita branches and the round glass candle holders hanging from it. Her gold mercury votives were a delight! She is a pleasure to work with and will really light up your wedding day!!

I cannot say enough in gratitude and praise for Lisa and Jason at Luminous events! From the beginning Lisa was easy to work with. She has great ideas and followed our mantra that "less is more." Many decorators I looked into were pushy with what "They do". I truly felt like we collaborated on the decoration. The cost was excellent dollar for effect. We especially loved the outdoor string lights that were strung over an area of the reception location. Originally, these lights were supposed to be outside, but due to forecast rain, we had to implement a rain plan with a tent. This area became the ceremony area. Lisa and Jason were able to take the original plans and improvise with just two days notice. When you have so many other things to worry about, this certainly took the worry away. The end result was an incredibly beautiful ceremony area under a tent with all the candles and the string lights. I highly recommend Luminous Events for their creativity, value and diligence.

Lighting was an important part of the wedding for me. I put it higher on my priority list than florals because I just love how lighting looks at our reception site, The Chicory. Lisa did not disappoint. We made custom beads for all of our guests to wear but didn't have any idea how to display them. Lisa had some gorgeous wire trees she set up at the entrance and hung the beads from. They looked like Mardi Gras trees. I loved it! I also loved the small candelabras she placed over the dance floor. It was such a small touch that added a lot of elegance to the space. Lisa was such a joy to work with!

All I can say is WOW!!! I used Luminous Events of New Orleans for our wedding in New Orleans on August 3rd! I am still receiving so many compliments of how breathtaking the room was. Lisa, Jason and their staff are AMAZING!!! I gave them the overall inspiration of what I was looking to achieve, and let them run with it... I wanted to be surprised when I walked into the venue, once again, all I can say is... WOW, absolutely BREATH taking!!! They went above and beyond my expectations!! They really know how to make any room look stunning!! They definitely know what they are doing, and helped to make our wedding decor stress-free and BEAUTIFUL!!! Lisa and Jason were always available for any questions, and I feel they truly care for their brides. My advice is to let these professionals have total creative freedom of your wedding... they definitely know how to make a wedding truly LUMINOUS!!!! I cannot say thank you enough to this company!!! I wish I could rate them higher than 5 stars!!! Book them TODAY!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!
