My name is Luciana, and this is Luxe & Luna. A full service event design and styling studio located on the Virginia Eastern Shore, and servicing luxury destinations across the Coast.
First, and foremost, I am a details person.
I’m all about the sweet, little nods hiding inside of intentional, well thought out design. I believe your event interiors should feel cozy and inviting, like a dinner party at home, and that the quiet details speak the loudest.
I live for the challenge of dreaming up fresh, fun ideas with every new design plan, and I make it my personal business to tell your story authentically, stylishly, and in a way your closest friends and family will recognize as a personal reflection of you. Just swankier ;)
I am selective when allocating spending and I work hard to ensure we are capitalizing on as many opportunities to make a statement, as "the budget" allows. Because, #YOLO .

As of posting this review, my fiancé and I have terminated our relationship with Luxe and Luna.
I had two major issues with Luciana. However, I do not have enough room to write about both in detail. In summary, the first issue almost cost us an extra $1500 in rental furniture due to Luciana's oversight and the only reason it was caught was because I had a feeling that things were not adding up so I contacted the vendor myself. The second issue was the rental decor. In order to finish the design of our wedding we needed to acquire additional décor, Luciana found the items needed and let us know that the amount would be $1385 to obtain these items & paid to her. There were a set of plates in the décor that I loved and considered just buying for myself. I found these plates online and realized that we were paying Luciana the full purchase price. I emailed Luciana to confirm the process with the idea that maybe I had been confused and we were actually buying these items or maybe it was only the plates we were paying full price for. Luciana responded that we were paying full price because she also includes “total cost to acquire the pieces, storage fees to process and store items prior to the event, and delivery, set-up and breakdown of the pieces on the wedding weekend.”. This was odd because 1.) the set-up of décor, organizing and packing of décor is already included in her standard services of the wedding package we purchased, so we should not be charged again, but also 2.) I had been under the assumption that renting items with all the associated fees is cheaper than purchasing. I used the example of the furniture rental company to explain my point. She stated that she is in fact “not a rental company with a warehouse and a multi-piece inventory to manage and promote” and that the total cost will be the same whether rented through her or purchased outright by me. For further clarification, I reiterated that the model she is proposing to us gives us two options, either we “rent” the décor through her for full purchase price and she keeps it after the wedding (in effect buying décor items for her) or we buy the décor ourselves and keep it after the wedding. I also expressed that I felt her use of the word “rent” was misleading because either way we are buying items…it is just a difference of who keeps them. She insisted that we had different understanding of how renting works and that the major difference is who is responsible for the pieces. We agreed to go ahead and source the items ourselves. That way we could shop for deals, cut costs and keep the items since we have to pay full price either way.
I no longer felt confident working with Luciana and wanted to terminate the relationship. I felt that we were paying too much money to have to check behind our wedding planner. In addition to the named issues, I felt Luciana had acted unprofessionally at times. A few instances of note; 1.) arriving to our first meeting at the venue late without notice, 2.) she showed up to the walkthrough with design plans that I had never seen before and it felt like she took control of the entire walkthrough 3.) when we would ask for clarification on certain things it would generally be met with annoyance, i.e. “we’ve talked about this like four or five times” (which was not the case). I felt like I was building her business instead designing my wedding.
I’ve sat on this review for awhile but I feel I need to give an honest review of my experience. I hired Luciana in 2019 to help plan my wedding for 2020. I had interviewed a few planners but her design plans really appealed to me as I am a visual person. She seemed to understand my overall vision (although she did seem unprepared) and I felt very confident after our first meeting, although I did have some reservations as she was newer to the wedding industry. However, I made it clear that I had a vision and just needed some assistance to put it into action so we hired her. We scheduled our second meeting which I thought was a design meeting so I could help show her what I really wanted. She had a complete design plan already made. I felt super uncomfortable because I felt I had not given her enough information yet so the design plan was not what I wanted. It had colors I didn’t even want and did not fit into the overall style we had discussed before. Following this meeting I began to communicate what needed to be changed to that plan. However, she sent her plan to my florist who then based their own plan based on hers.
Overall, the experience was unprofessional and I felt walked over the whole time as she also continued to push her own style onto my wedding. When I wanted to change some of my rentals she was very slow to change anything and insisted it was the rental companies fault (I do not know because she did not include me in any communication which I wanted). She appeared to get defensive and upset if I even tried to talk to vendors myself. During our tasting with the caterer she also attempted to hold her own meeting with me at their office when we were done which was very rude. She also repeatedly asked me about adding a second bar which I had explained to her I did not want as I have family in recovery and did not want alcohol all over the place. She continued to push vendors she liked or had worked with, even when their styles were not at all what I wanted (modern and bohemian instead of fairytale and elegant).
The tipping point was a meeting with a lighting company. While at the meeting she tried to take over and show what she wanted although it was not what we had talked about. She even went as far as to tell me what I liked looked “cheap”. The lighting representative had to remind her that it was up to the couple. So overall, I felt completely disrespected during this whole stage of wedding planning and felt as if she constantly judged my decisions. During our time working together I felt like I had to fight for the wedding I wanted. The best decision I made was to terminate our working relationship and pick another planner who respected my decisions.
We don't know where we would have been without her for the entire wedding planning process! From the very beginning she helped bring my very specific vision for our wedding day to life. Luciana has an amazing style and aesthetic and helped with every detail to make our Charlottesville wedding come together beautifully. Our wedding weekend was touch and go due to pouring rain in the days leading up to the event, but Luciana handled everything - even a last minute tent cancellation so that our dream al fresco dinner was able to happen. It was so amazing having her handle all of that while wedding weekend festivities were going on. Luciana is an amazing person that truly values her couples and she made us feel very special throughout the entire process. We could not recommend her more!
I couldn't have better things to say about working with Luciana. Throughout the planning process she was attentive, organized and resourceful.
I had no stress on my big day and she executed our wedding vision perfectly! She kept me on track for our big day. She had a checklist and we had several phone conversations and text. I live in MD and my wedding too place back home in Virginia so I am glad I was able to put my trust in her! By the time the big day came I was stress free and I just had to get dress and show up. My big day was amazing!!!
She helped me with every detail for my bid day! I couldn't have asked for a better planner, and am so glad that we picked Luxe and Luna to help us with planning our big day!
I would recommend Luciana and her team! Please look no further for an excellent wedding planner. I can't wait for my best friend to get married next so I can work with her again !!!

She was so fun and organized, she really made our wedding day run seamlessly and she also helped me stay focused, since Pinterest can be so overwhelming. We can't thank her enough for going above and beyond, staying later than expected, and helping with the smallest of details! You will get five star service from Luciana and her team! Luciana did an amazing job as my wedding day of coordinator. She was very responsive to my emails and texts and such a pleasure to work with. All of the details I envisioned for my day were realized and I couldn't have been more pleased. I also appreciated her stylistic suggestions for decor - I got so many compliments on the altar she recommended. In retrospect, I probably should've just hired her as a full wedding planner because planning your own wedding is stressful! Thanks, Luciana!
In planning my wedding, I hadn't considered hiring a wedding planner until I won a month of planning from Luxe and Luna Couture Events. Luciana handled everything so smoothly so there was absolutely nothing to worry about! If I had to go back and plan everything again, I would choose Luxe and Luna again and recommend anyone else planning any event to do the same.
I have hired Luciana to design and coordinate every single one of my social events since I met her in 2009 and every time she out does herself. I'm always impressed with her styling, ideas and overall professionalism. I am 100% type A and not once have I ever felt the need to micromanage. She's assertive, responsive and so much fun to be around!
Luciana with Luxe & Luna Couture Events is a superhero! I’m not sure if anything went wrong at my wedding or not but no one ever told me about it. It was the best day of my life. She was always on time, always available when I needed her to answer questions, direct guests and just make sure everyone was having a good time. I did most of the planning myself and hired Luciana as my day of coordinator, but if I had a do over I would have made her my full planner. It would have made much more sense in the long run and I could’ve enjoyed the journey a little more. I was fortunate enough to have lots of friends and family helping but it would have been nice to have a professional opinion at times. If you’re not already, definitely consider investing in a planner, it’s money well spent.
We cannot say enough wonderful things about Luciana and Luxe and Luna Couture Events! I was given small tasks along the way, but she kept me on track and I literally just "showed up" to the most magical evening of my entire life! Luciana is a gifted, creative, organized professional! Will use her for all my life events!
For months I debated whether or not to hire a wedding planner. It simply wasn’t in the budget. It wasn’t until I was 6 months into planning and I literally felt like I was about to lose it that I finally caved and started researching local planners. I found Luxe & Luna through Facebook and I can’t even tell you how happy I am that I did! Luciana was reasonably priced and the examples of her work were amazing! I was so impressed with her work ethic and organizational process. Every i was dotted, t was crossed and all I had to do was sit back and enjoy my special day the way it was meant to be!
