Cara North is the most amazing, professional, organized, caring, and thoughtful wedding planner - she was the HERO of our wedding. Cara was brought in to our wedding just 5 weeks prior to our date. In a moment of panic, many of our vendors told us to call Cara and they were absolutely right! Cara came in and got straight to business, kicking off our planning with a thorough lunch where we talked through her timeline and other organized materials. Her calm demeanor and absolute mastery of every detail immediately put us at ease. In her first 48 hours on the job, she successfully sourced the exact colorful linens we were looking for (despite us being told that they were impossible to find). At every turn, Cara saved the day. I had the most amazing wedding day, without an ounce of stress or anxiety, and I give Cara a ton of credit for that. Not only did she put me at ease, but you could tell that all of the other vendors felt comfortable that whatever came up "Cara was on it" or "Cara took care of it already." Despite putting out multple last minute fires, she always had a smile on her face and was a pleasure to work with every day. Cara's expertise and experience comes through in everything she touches. I can't say enough about how organized, responsive, and thougthful she was during what could have been a very stressful time for us - coming in just a month before our 240+ person wedding at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. Cara saved our wedding and personally gave me the ability to sit back and relax on one of the biggest days of my life. If you don't believe me, Cara was so impressive that one of my bridesmaids who recently got engaged immediately asked her if she was available to plan her wedding. Your wedding planner is one of the most important decisions of the planning process - and Cara is the best!
Working with Cara was such an incredible experience! My partner and I got married last April, and we were one of many couples that had to postpone our wedding due to Covid. Cara took care of everything and made everything ran smoothly. She also took the time to really get to know me and my partner and figure out a look for our wedding that was true to us. Can't recommend her enough!
Cara is the best wedding planner you could imagine! She helped us navigate postponing our wedding by a year due to COVID and handled all the logistics and communications with vendors. She also put together an amazing vendor team for our big day and brought our vision to life, all while staying mindful of our budget. Our wedding day was literally perfect thanks to Cara. She even added on a few surprises for us like bringing out parasols for guests because the day was particularly sunny. My husband and I were able to relax and enjoy ourselves on our wedding day all thanks to Cara and her team. If you want an amazing wedding planner who will think of every detail, get things done effortlessly, and be a joy to work with the entire time, look no further than Cara and Luxe Events!!
Cara was absolutely phenomenal! For this COVID bride planning her second wedding, I decided to hire a wedding planner to take the reins and make my vision a reality. Cara did just that. The design was incredible. Her professionalism was amazing. My family was raving after the wedding that they have never seen a better wedding planner/coordinator. I cannot reccomend Luxe Special Events enough!
I have so many amazing things to say about Cara and cannot recommend her enough. She went above and beyond for my husband and I, and truly made our wedding the most special day. Cara is exceptionally diligent, has amazing attention to detail and truly has the most impeccable taste. My husband and I could only make a couple of trips to San Diego before our wedding day and she took our vision and executed it flawlessly. Even 6 months after our wedding guests are still commenting on what a beautiful day it was. We are so grateful to Cara and Luxe Events for everything they did to make our wedding day absolutely perfect.
I wish I could give Cara more stars but hindsight is 20/20. I hired Cara to make my life less stressful and because I’m not the creative type. I was hoping that is where Cara could help me with the wedding planning process. My main issues:
- she did not save us any money (don’t be fooled by the “industry discounts” she says will save a ton of money that only take off fractions on the dollar)
- the paper goods. Absolute disaster. Probably the only part I had specifically imagined that I gave specific instructions on but she and a “specialist” could not materialize.
- my final seating chart my fiancé and I spent hours on was wrong. Two tables specifically were seated completely wrong the day of the wedding. Absolute lapse of attention to detail. In my eyes this was a huge oversight.
I debated a long time about writing a negative review but seeing that all of Cara’s reviews are five stars left me perplexed. Does she just have something against me because I was not completely happy? Perhaps.. but that’s what I hired her for.
Even though I had the most perfect day there were still details I noticed that I thought would have been taken care of by Cara that she fell short on.
From our initial meeting with Cara, we knew we had to have her! Luxe Events was recommended by our photographer and we setup an in person meeting to go over the details and see if we all clicked.

Her upbeat energy, confidence and professionalism was so exciting for us! She was just as excited about our big day as we were!!
We went over all the details and the many lists of what I had already done versus what was left; we decided due to all that we had already completed, hiring Luxe Events for "Month of Planning" made more sense.
Fast forward to wedding month and she came on at the best time possible!! Took over, handled all timelines, vendors, etc. If there was any details or me needing feedback- she was on it! For me to have zero stress on "how will it all work?!", she was the best investment for our wedding day.
Before I even thought about something needed on the day of; Cara already had it handled or read my mind immediately! She is extremely gifted at what she does. I can't sing her praises enough!
I felt like we really connected and I truly trusted her that whole day. It's really something special to have that extra "touch" and she certainly has it.
I had so many compliments from family and friends about her as well! She was a real blessing to us!
She was a complete joy to have and lead us through our wedding day!!
Cara is the BEST. No, seriously, she is. If you need a wedding coordinator who is professional, kind, and a pleasure to work with, look no further! We hired Cara to provide month-of coordinator services for our recent wedding and she was OUTSTANDING. She is very organized and knows her stuff. Our wedding day went off without a hitch. Everything was on time, moved smoothly and if there was a problem, no one knew about it. Cara made our wedding the most perfect day I could have ever imagined. I'm sad my wedding is over because I no longer have the pleasure of working with my incredible team and Cara. Thank you, Cara and Luxe!
Cara was the most amazing coordinator! She was very professional, gave us some space, very organized and worked REALLY well with all our vendors.

I have put off writing this review until all the other vendors were done, because I know I'm going to get emotional, and run out of superlatives - lol. We hired Luxe after our venue manager provided us with a short list of recommendations. I felt like the planner/coordinator was going to set the tone for the entire wedding, and I had some trepidation about making the right choice. More than anything else, I wanted to feel confident in their abilities, and I wanted responsiveness to my questions and concerns. Cara and Jenny provided me with all this in spades, and so, SO much more.
From the first meeting, to the goodbye at the wedding, they were absolutely MAGNIFICENT. For the entire planning process, I felt like I was their only client, and we were genuinely treated like friends, not customers. They were SO incredibly well organized, helpful, encouraging, creative, and flexible throughout the entire process. There was not a single day or decision where I felt out-of-sync with them. They knew when to guide me, and they were 100% on board when I wanted to lead. They always gave quick and comprehensive responses when I contacted them (which was often!), and often went above and beyond - handling things that were not in the contract. They were extraordinarily knowledgeable, and knew their vendors and available products front-to-back. They worked very hard to understand "us" - what we liked, what we didn't, what we were drawn to, what inspired us, and it was extremely evident on our wedding day that their process works.
When the wedding day arrived, it was just...jaw dropping. It was nothing I ever, EVER could have imagined, or been able to put together on my own. The elements and feel were so unique, and so "us," it was just visually stunning from start to finish. Our guests RAVED about it - I have never seen so many Facebook/Instagram pictures of decor, table settings, hedge walls, etc. from a wedding. The whole day went seamlessly - they took 1,000 moving parts and pulled off a fantastic event without a hitch. Having planners/coordinators who were so well liked by the venue was a huge benefit as well.
Now that the wedding is over, I'm honestly bummed that I'm not working with them anymore. They took something that would/should have been an incredibly stressful process, and made it so fun and enjoyable with their creativity, positivity, and professionalism. I honestly cannot imagine ANYONE else being able to give us the first-class wedding and planning experience we had. If you’re still reading this and not calling them right now, you are already missing out on your perfect wedding experience!
I wish 10 stars was an option. These girls are SO good at what they do. I had a destination wedding and they took every bit of stress out of planning and nailed my "vision" down to every little detail. Jenny pulled together the designs perfectly and always helped me make decisions. Cara was so on top of it during our wedding day and there wasn't anything she hadn't asked ahead of time. They truly care about the people they work with and made all of our requests a reality!
We hired Luxe to help plan our entire wedding. Every detail was taken care of and the result was the sophisticated and fun wedding we had dreamed about. Not only were our guests impressed, so were all the vendors. Cara took the stress out of planning and Jenny had the vision to create a beautiful setting.
Jenny and Cara of Luxe Events created a seamless event, and my husband and I were able to enjoy every moment of our spectacular wedding and reception.
Their attention to detail made everything go like clockwork on our two-day event, and was marveled on by both our families and our guests.
Jenny helped with the planning from initial concept through final tear-down after the reception; she introduced us to the venue of our dreams, a genius florist, and helped with every other vendor along the way. She negotiated contracts, and was able to save significant amounts with several vendors.
They have packages available which range from full coordination services (including design), month-of-services, and a la carte services, which makes it more approachable if you're not certain how much planning guidance you need.
I wouldn't want to have done this without Luxe; they gave me the wedding of my dreams.
