Not to mention, the way she decorated the ceremony and reception areas was absolutely gorgeous! Overall, CT wedding group helped to make our wedding planning process smooth and low stress. We booked our date just shy of two years out from the wedding date. Based on our timeframe, they gave us goals for when we should have certain vendors booked and specific tasks completed. Throughout that time, they met with us to discuss how things were going and answer any questions we had along they way. I was always impressed by how responsive they were to any questions/requests I sent via email. I would not hesitate to SUPER strongly recommend the Lyman Orchards venue and working with CT Wedding Group to anyone getting married!

Nicole made not just us, but our entire family, feel at home making sure every one’s needs were met. Our day went off without any hitches and we honestly can’t even think of a single thing that occurred that we were not happy with. She made sure we ate, drank, and most importantly took in every moment of our special day. Our guests have done nothing but rave to us all month long about our wedding. From the scenery of the venue, to the tent, to the food, to the drinks-we have heard nothing but positive compliments. As a more unorganized bride (lol) they kept the process stress free, helped guide me every step of the way, and made the process fun! Jenna was our day of coordinator, along with Lexi, and they were FANTASTIC. From the moment we met Jenna we were super comfortable with her, she felt more like a friend than a wedding coordinator. She kept the day running smoothly, which allowed us to just enjoy the day and not worry about logistics. We are so thankful to her and the whole team. Now for the venue: we have had countless people compliment us on the food and outdoor open atmosphere. We did the golf package during cocktail hour which was a huge hit, so I recommend that. The decor was spot on (all set up by CT wedding group with little responsibility on our part). For any summer brides out there, we got married August 20 and it was 87 and sunny during the day and by the time our cocktail hour started at 5:30 it was breezy and comfortable up on the hill, and with their fans they provide. I know our day would have been great regardless of weather - but even so I spent ~2 years unnecessarily stressing about weather so if this can appease one summer bride I’ll be happy, it was not too hot at all! :)

At times, we did feel there was some lack of transparency and additional fees that popped up, including ceremony chairs which was probably the most surprising, but I’m sure the experience would be similar with any other wedding venue/group and we would just recommend reading all the fine details for anyone you book. Overall, we would definitely recommend them for an amazing wedding experience and a day that you will be happy with! :)

Everyone talks about how on their wedding day they never get to enjoy the food because they are too busy. We didn't have that problem as Nicole made sure we had own our time together during part of cocktail hour so we could eat and sit back and enjoy the moment with each other. She took care of any tiny detail that day so we didn't have to worry about anything and could just focus on having the best time celebrating with our friends and family. If you choose CT Wedding Group you will not be disappointed!

We've never been the kind of couple who put much thought into what our wedding would look and be like, so we stepped into the process totally clueless. We viewed a ton of venues prior, but nothing was as breathtaking as the view at Lyman Orchards, and the folks at CWG were so honest and communicative from day 1 so we knew we'd be in good hands. When we made the tough decision to postpone because of covid, CWG helped us go from feeling like it was the end of the world to feeling totally at ease and at peace with that decision. Now for actual wedding day! Nicole was our day of coordinator and made sure we were always well fed, with our fav drinks in hand, and took care of every tiny timing detail so we could actually enjoy our day and be present. Every single guest we spoke to after the wedding said it was the most fun, most beautiful, and most delicious food they've ever experienced at a wedding! Since all our vendors were ones who worked extensively with CWG in the past at all their venues, there was a real sense of trust and a close-knit family/community energy. Although wedding day itself was the first time we were meeting a lot of the vendors, it felt like we had known each other for years (since I guess we had, via email lol). The feeling of getting to enjoy our own wedding day and just totally revel in such a fun, lighthearted, grateful energy is something we never could've expected and is totally priceless. My husband and I both come from customer service/hospitality careers, and CWG is the REAL DEAL. Even though I always rely on other people's reviews, I never actually take the time to leave my own. But wowowowow seriously - choosing to have our wedding at Lyman Orchards was the BEST decision we ever made. And it's rare that we ever agree on something ;)

ur home and Lyman's was the first result. I didn't even know you could get married there but I was sold from the first moment. Lyman's has always held a special place in my heart from my childhood, and my husband and I even had our first date in the orchard. How perfect right? Not only did we have the perfect venue but the team that we'd be working with along the way was perfection. We felt important and prioritized since our first meeting. When Covid forced us to postpone our June 2020 wedding to July 2021, the staff was quick to respond, ease our worries, and get everything in order and transferred for us. I was convinced that we'd have to hold our wedding on a weekday because of this venue's popularity but the universe came together and somehow managed to give us multiple Saturdays to choose from! The planning team was so helpful throughout our wedding journey, checking in every so often and reminding us about decisions that needed to be made. They were prompt with responses and always polite and thorough with their communications. The all-inclusive nature of this group makes wedding planning feel like a breeze. It will always have its stressful moments but having a team who always had an answer and made it feel like no big deal always made me feel better. Fast forward to our wedding day and the few days leading up - Jenna and Autumn were the most incredible team we could have imagined working with. They were so cool and relaxed while also making sure everything was taken care of the way we envisioned. No thought or idea of ours was dismissed or overlooked. When we arrived at the venue I nearly cried just seeing our visions come to life. They made sure we ate (!!!), our glasses were always full, and the "what's next" chats were consistent and clear. We felt like royalty. The night really does go by faster than you could ever expect, and the post-wedding blues are real, only because I could relive that night over and over and never get tired of it. I can't thank or give enough credit to Jenna, Autumn, and the rest of the planning team who we worked with over the past 2.5 years. After everything we went through with postponing, we had the perfect night and it finally all felt worth it.

wedding to 9/3/2021. The Barns gave us such an incredibly hard time about postponing it and they didn't even want us to change anything. The length of time to even get a response from the venue was incredibly long. I would have to text and email them to get a response, and even once had to post on their Facebook in order to get a call back. Mr. Jennings then had us cancel our wedding for 9/4, and re-schedule it for 9/3 but with lots of new fees and upcharges like charging $4,000 more for the site fee, which increased the price from $6,000 to $10,000 just to use the space, and increasing the per plate amount from $139.95 to $159.95. Originally Mr. Jennings said this was due to the fact that the wedding was now taking place in a new year, but we would not have postponed our wedding if corona virus didn't hit. I also reached out to CT wedding group to ensure that if legally we could only have 100 guests that we would be charged for 100 guests not our minimum count of 150 - they couldn’t give me a straight answer on that and after speaking to another couple it turned out they were being charged their minimum no matter the regulation. After a lot of consideration, we decided to cancel our wedding because a destination wedding in another state during corona virus was not the right move for us or our families. We had already paid $18,125.00. We gave seven months' notice of the cancellation. Mr. Jennings offered us $1,000.00 back, which is insulting when you've paid so much money. One couple we've been talking to is a military veteran who was being deployed before her wedding, and CT Wedding Group refused to return her money. Are other couples struggling with the same issues? The customer service has been terrible, and considering there is a pandemic going on, you would think that a huge venue like CT Wedding Group with multiple wedding sites would treat their couples with respect and understand what a hard decision it is to postpone or cancel your wedding. Luckily, we have since rebooked with a great vendor on Long Island, who is also part of a larger wedding group - and they're offering full refunds to their couples if they are unable to get married during the pandemic. That is the mark of great customer service, and a wedding venue I would recommend to my family and friends, not a group that takes advantage of people while they're planning the best day of their lives

This venue was great because they provide almost everything; the food, set-up, event planners, etc. If you do not want to spend time booking your own caterers, picking out silverware, etc, this place is great because it saves you a lot of time. However if you want to be more hands on, they are fine with that too. The planning team answers all emails quickly and are available by the phone as well. They provide reminders of things you need to do each month and help keep everything organized. On the wedding day, you also have an Event Coordinator who helps keep everything running smoothly. This is so great because they know the ins-and outs of everything--as opposed to hiring someone who is not familiar with the venue to come in and coordinate the day. Allie was so calm, organized and kind and I felt I could completely trust her and relax! 2) Venue: The ceremony took place in an open field with a stunning backdrop of CT. If you visit and just look at the tent, it may not seem like the most beautiful place ever. However, you need to use your imagination with how it looks filled up with decoration. It again has a gorgeous backdrop, and a lawn area for cocktail hour. We decorated the tent ceiling with one of the options they provided and added flowers and everyone said it looked magical, enchanting, gorgeous, etc. 3)Food: So I honestly didn't even think about the food, but everyone was raving about it. To sum it up someone said "I did not expect much from the food, since usually at wedding it's made in bulk and is mediocre. But this food was amazing, the best i've had at a wedding, I would pay for this at a restaurant." Also since my sister also had a wedding at their sister venue, they gifted me a pretzel bar at the end of the night which was amazing! 4) Price: It was an extremely reasonable per person price for the venue--especially taking into consideration you get an entire wedding planning team from the day you book with them I highly recommend!

Now let’s talk actual food and venue, I mean come on the Orchards has the most Breath taking views, and so much to offer. Anything from an outdoor ceremony, golf pro who comes while everyone hits some golf balls, the longest package and outdoor games was a total hit! The food was top notch so thank you chef! Guests are told lme ting about how Delicious and original all the food was, especially that desert bar! Guests said the bartender was fast, attentive, and fun! I honestly xant day enough good things! Our wedding day is still talked about, people rememberer the staff, the food, and just how much fun it was. I couldn’t have had such a perfect, fun filled day filled with such memories and love with the team and this exquisite venue!

Adam and I did not have to worry about a thing with Lindsay in charge. Lindsay was great about checking in with us and with making sure our family and friends' questions were answered promptly and taken care of. She made sure everything ran smoothly and took the burden off of Adam and I so we could just enjoy the day. We received several compliments from guests and family specifically about how cordial, professional, and on-top-of-her-game Lindsay was at the reception. We received so many compliments from our guests on the decor, food and the overall atmosphere. Family and friends raved about the food! We were worried about family and friends with food allergies, but the staff from CT Wedding Group was UNBELIEVABLE for several reasons; First, Mary-Beth was wonderful with being in-touch with the team who made sure those plates for guests with special food needs were kept separate and contaminant-free. Secondly, Lindsay did an amazing job checking in with each of our guests at the Wedding (also making sure I had plenty of gluten free options for dinner, etc). On top of it all, the wait staff and bartenders were excellent and so professional. They made sure all of our guests were well taken care of - and even made up plates for those who had to leave early. The decor was picture perfect, Lindsay and Mary-Beth really brought to life the ideas we discussed with them at our final meeting several days before the wedding. Using the ideas and accessories we brought, they crafted together the tables for name tags, gifts, and pictures of our families, which were above and beyond our expectations. They truly have expertise in decorations and creativity and really incorporated the elements of our theme. We couldn't have been more happy. Thank you all for helping us have an amazing wedding

Lindsay was our day of coordinator, and she too, was fabulous. I can't imagine our wedding day without Mary-Beth and Lindsay there to oversee and make sure everything went as planned. We have received SO MANY compliments from our guests about our day, including many people who have said it was "perfect" and the "best wedding ever." Everything truly was amazing - the food was incredible, the tent looked better than I could have imagined, and everything was truly just so well run. We are so grateful for the ways that CT Wedding Group, Mary-Beth and Lindsay went above and beyond to make our day perfect - from Mary-Beth letting us ship umbrellas to her office due to a last minute rain forecast, arranging for warm coffee for our guests at the last minute during our ceremony due to unexpectedly cool temperatures, to always making sure we had a drink in our hands and food to eat...honestly, "above and beyond" doesn't do them justice. The team covered every detail, big or small, and always had smiles on their faces. There are so many delicious options that it was hard to choose. I love that so much of the food used comes from local farms. We chose a pie package instead of the custom wedding cake. We chose a few flavors, and at the end of the night we were given the extra pieces to go home with. I knew the decorations would be amazing, but I was still shocked when I saw it all put together. It was simply breathtaking. Lyman Orchards far exceeded every expectation that we had, in making our wedding so perfectly unique.

Wedding Planning: The eleven month time lapse from the first time we contacted Mary-Beth McDowell until our wedding day, there were literally dozens upon dozens of emails, questions posed and decisions to be made about how to personalize our special day. Calling me a detail-oriented bride may be an understatement, but Mary-Beth, Tracy Pessina and their team of professionals were always available to discuss details small and large. Their communication was timely, professional, efficient and always reassuring. No matter what the challenge or worry of the moment, they were patient, calm and very clear in how best to support our vision for the day. Mary-Beth would not hesitate to jump in with her own opinions and gently steer us in the right directions when we were possibly making a bad choice. We always felt confident in her recommendations; we knew we were in good hands. Food: No matter what I say here, words will fall short of the praise that Steve Lisitano, Executive Chef and the rest of the team at Pavilion Catering deserve. At the summer tasting, in the dead of winter, Steve came over to talk to us about the menu options, what was available for tasting and which plates he simply didn’t want to prepare in the winter because it wouldn’t do justice to the vision for the dish based on the freshness of produce available at the end of the summer. Just hearing the way Steve talked about his menu offerings, my foodie husband and I instantly felt relief, trusting that the food would be amazing… We just didn’t realize HOW amazing! Also, an important note, Pavilion Catering was beyond accommodating for the various food allergies of our guests, ensuring that every single person felt taken care of. This makes an Italian Bride very happy! Lyman Orchards: While I know I cannot give credit to CT Wedding Group for our amazing weather, although Mary-Beth is a meteorologist, the grounds of Lyman Orchards would be beautiful no matter how hot it was. Simply picturesque for both the ceremony and reception locations; the expansive farms also made for amazing photos prior to. CT Wedding Group again went above and beyond, guiding us around the property to ensure that we got all of the photos we were after. Did I mention that our property guide was Jonathan Jennings, the company’s COO? I don’t know about you, but I’ve never known another COO to jump in and help the team like Jonathan did for us on our wedding day – literally driving us around in golf carts. He pleasantly accommodated all of our location desires, even those more extreme photos that we were after. He even made suggestions to add to our list. He drove us up to the highest point in Middlefield at sundown to capitalize on the breathing taking view and gorgeous natural light. I cannot wait for our photos!! While Lyman Orchards was the perfect backdrop for our wedding, they work with other venues as well. Simply put, I recommend CT Wedding Group for any bride or groom. If I had more than five stars to give, I happily would!

used an apple pie for our "pie cutting" and photos. They were amazing!!! I could have eaten one of each flavor by myself! For any one who wants to try something other than wedding cake I recommend pie! Especially from Lymans
