g planners, we were looking for someone who was flawless in their attention to detail with a vision and an artistic gift that I do not have. Enter Mac & B. The first time we met with Christine and Carri I became absolutely infatuated, and over a year later I am still awe-inspired by them. I should share that I am not the type who had their wedding planned out from a young age and had no clue on where to start. Fortunately, none of that mattered with the expertise and hand holding through each and every step by Mac & B.
As someone who has a lot going on, Christine went above and beyond for us, taking away all of the stress that comes with the planning process. Fully trusting and being comfortable with your planner is so invaluable, which you will recognize immediately if you get the opportunity to work with Mac & B.
Guest experience is paramount, and was our number one priority. We can confidently say that the wedding exceeded all of our expectations and that of our guests - and we attribute this fully to Christine, Mac & B and the crème de la crème vendors they assembled. Christine, being as thoughtful as she is and knowing my social anxiety with the guest experience, surprised us with professional break dancers to bring even more hype to the reception and dance floor. Guests and ourselves loved this fun surprise, which is just one example of many personalized details Mac & B will pay attention to and bring to the table!
On a more sentimental note - during one of our first meetings, Christine was aware of our affinity for travelling and shared about her world travels (making Mac & B ideal for any destination wedding). She gifted us a golden oyster shell jewellery dish - symbolic that the world is our oyster. This was deeply meaningful to us, an item that showed us her genuine self and that our relationship would be more than just planner and a bride/groom. She showed me time and time again that she believed in me that I started to believe in myself. I never imagined our wedding planner to have such a profound impact on my life. Christine and Carri were so thoughtful throughout the entire process and genuinely cared about us as a couple and individually.
To conclude, right before I walked down the aisle, I shared a beautiful moment with Christine that I will always cherish. It was the culmination of all her hard work, our friendship formed and the masterpiece of a wedding she created. She will always hold a special place in my heart. We are forever indebted and love love love that we were able to befriend and partner with Mac & B. You will be making the best decision of your life by working with them!

Christine was a maestro when it came to interlacing all of the vendors and logistics for a flawless and elegant wedding with no hiccups or miscues. A true master of her craft. She took an immense amount of stress off of us and our busy schedules during the planning process, and kept such positivity and kindness throughout each step. She kept our spirits high during stressful times in the process and made us feel comfortable knowing we could fully rely on her. She knew how and when to best communicate with vendors, always putting our interests first while ensuring we did not miss a beat. She also kept finances in mind and put us first in every decision she made or option she presented.
Perhaps what is most impressive is that in less than a year, Christine was able to take three Pinterest pins provided to her, and a very generic description of how we envisioned our perfect wedding, and construct a masterpiece beyond our wildest dreams. Our number one request was that we have a wonderful guest experience and people enjoy themselves, and Mac & B delivered well beyond what we had expected. Mac and B was put on our radar from a friend who used them for her wedding. From the start Amy had it all laid out for us; when to start looking for something, and when to make a decisions by. We were not from the area, which made this a destination wedding for us. What we loved is that she didn’t take over the process, but more so helped us bring our vision to life. We’re the type of couple that enjoys researching an area, and finding the best deals. Amy helped us by guiding us to the right vendors in our budget, and to who she knew would do the best job executing our design requests (aka florals, rentals, photography etc).
The day of Amy was a godsend/boss lady fairy-godmother. She handled all the little, and big things the day of that would of completely taken us away from the moment. I can not stress this enough, that we did not have one thing to do the day of other than show up for our first look. Which we did at precisely 2:15pm thanks to our detailed timeline created by Amy. We were able to be completely in the moment, and that’s priceless.
More than once I was asked why I was such a chill bride, and why wasn’t I freaking out more. It was because we had so much trust in Amy. And here’s a true example as to why. The week of the wedding, we arrived to Charleston and that’s when the Corona Virus news started to escalate. 48 hours prior to the wedding around 30 people canceled. We called Amy and she told us to not worry about a thing, so we didn’t. Alone, we would of spiraled and lost sight of the day. With Amy, she told us not to worry, so we didn’t. That’s how much we trusted her.

The weather made a turn for the worst on our wedding day (Arctic Blast that is soooo rare in the south) and she basically redesigned our entire outdoor wedding into an indoor wedding/reception within 3 hours. We had no idea what anything would look like until we showed up and it was absolutely beautiful. The guests are still commenting on how much fun and how beautiful it was. We let Amy take the lead on the design and she did such a great job adding her creative touch to make it extra special... even customized ketchup packets for the groom - ha! Amy can make just about anything happen (except weather) :-) I highly recommend Mac and B. They are a true joy to work with and really go above and beyond to make weddings extra special.

We also wanted to be able to enjoy our engagement without the stress of wedding planning. We hired Mac & B for full-service wedding planning for our March 2019 wedding and so incredibly happy with our decision. I worked with Carri for the first 6 months finalizing all our vendors and then spent the next 6 months with Amy designing our wedding. wedding planner, we were a little nervous about who we chose to help us through the process. My fiance and I lived 2 hours away from Charleston and our parents lived very far away. As soon as I spoke with Amy and Carrie on the phone, I knew that Mac and B was who I wanted to work with. They were personable, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. They were also sensitive to financial constraints, and remained flexible and receptive to planning adjustments. Throughout the entire process, Amy was always available to help, responsive to questions and extremely knowledgeable about wedding ideas and options. She was quick to respond to my emails and messages and was always on top of things which made it easy for us to relax since we were planning from afar. From our first meeting in person with her, to the rehearsal and the wedding day, Amy did a fantastic job. She listened to every detail of our vision and created the most perfect wedding day. n to Charleston once before our wedding. We spoke to many event planning companies to select our own wedding planner and Amy immediately stood out as the absolute best option.
Amy is super creative, optimistic, kind, and truly hears her clients. From start to finish she was clear in communicating what we could expect throughout the process. She was realistic in giving us options that would fit in our budget and went above and beyond to make sure our vision for our wedding was realized. Amy was also incredibly responsive throughout the year leading up to the wedding. I don't think she ever took longer than an hour to respond to an email or a question. Truly incredible. We felt so at peace going into the wedding weekend because we knew she had everything covered.
As far as décor goes, Amy took every vague idea we had and brought it to life, only ten times better than what we could have imagined. When we walked in the room on our wedding day, before the ceremony, our jaws literally dropped. We knew it would be amazing because Amy had created renderings, but we didn't know just how stunning it was all going to look. Every last detail was perfect. She truly transformed the space into something from a magazine! I can't tell you how incredible it looked!
Beyond just the décor, Amy made sure that everything ran smoothly throughout the day. In fact, a few of our guests even pointed out how "on it" she was and how impressed they were with the team. At one point, we went to the rooftop to take some photos and one clasp on my dress snapped! Someone texted Amy and she was waiting for us at the elevator when we got downstairs with several pin options to fix the clasp before I went back out. I mean COME ON!!!!!!
We could not recommend the Mac and B team and Amy more. She made everything so easy and beautiful but also made the year of planning leading up to the wedding so enjoyable, which is so so so important. We are SO grateful!!!!!!!

dn't give us the time of day after we mentioned our budget, which, I should add, wasn't even that small!-- we were recommended Mac & B by a local photographer, and they turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. They were completely understanding of and welcoming to our budget, and came up with a price for day-of coordination, plus "takeover" planning two months our, that perfectly fit our needs, and was even a little bit less than what we had been anticipating (how rarely that happens in the wedding planning process!). Anyway, CHRISTINE WAS AMAZING. We worked primarily with her, and she always made my my mom and I fee so calm and confident about everything. She's incredibly organized and thoughtful, and she always seemed to have all the time in the world to answer our endless questions (which I am sure was not actually the case, which makes that even more impressive). She gave us so many perfect vendor recommendations and also tons of great advice (even on the best length of sparkler!) and pointed out some stuff we needed to consider but hadn't though of. Whatever we wanted to do, she worked to make it happen, and if what we wanted wasn't possible, she found an excellent alternative solution. Plus, she was just so fun to hang out with!
To sum: if you want a sensible (ie not totally drinking the Kool Aid of the overheating Charleston wedding planning industry/scene), organized, budget-friendly wedding planner who will make you feel 100% confident on your wedding day that everything is in excellent hands, hire Mac & B!

Several months before the big day, Christine and Carri had conference calls with me, and one month before the wedding, we had a walk through of our venue with my husband and me to make sure a floor plan and timeline were set for the destination wedding. In addition to directing vendors on the day of the event, Christine and Carri even trekked to the ceremony’s rehearsal at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist [in the pouring rain!] to show their support for us. Mac & B also helped arrange decor items and took pictures & short videos throughout the rehearsal and wedding reception. Christine and Carri’s eye for detail and professionalism ensured that the reception ran seamlessly. Christine and Carri treated our wedding event with the same care and attention as they would their own weddings. I live in Panama, not the city in Florida but the one in the country of Panama, Central America. When I received the news of my son´s wedding -in Charleston- can´t deny some butter...
flies started flying in my stomach. Great news! Great venue! But... how was I to organize, coordinate and deliver a rehearsal dinner without missing the party altogether?
On the other hand, it is customary in Panama to set up a "dessert table" for the wedding reception and again... how can the mother of the groom complete this task without having to arrive at the reception wearing an apron?
Well... this is where Christine and Carri came in. And boy did they come in and deliver!
Christine was referred to me by the bride´s family and I met her briefly during a visit a made to Charleston about one month prior to the wedding. Even though it was during the weekend Christine was more than helpful in taking me to the rehearsal dinner venue, going over the plans and just promising to be there for us when "wedding time came".
And sure enough wedding time came and Christine and Carri were there. They were there to help me and my family helpers set up tables and decorations, to supervise that all the rentals arrived and were set up according to plan, to go over "the rehearsal itself", and to pick up at the closing of the event.
Next day was the big event. I arrived at the venue with my husband and son (groom), and oh, of course! with AAALLLL the desserts. At lightning speed I gave Christine and Carri the instructions on how to set them up when it was time (some desserts required refrigeration). Left to get ready and when I came back everything was PERFECT, absolutely perfect. I wish i could show you pictures here.
But this was not all Christine was doing. She was also supervising set up of the ceremony props, signature book, programs; she was rounding up and keeping groomsmen in good order, she was making sure everybody that had to be somewhere was somewhere; she took pictures of the event, lots of pictures; and all this with a smile on her face.
I am sure the bride and her parents have their own magnificent review about Mac and B Events, its impossible not to have it. For anyone who wants to be another guest in their own party this is the people you need.
PS. and to top it all Christine is fully bilingual so Spanish speaking potential clients... go for it!
