BEWARE!
I went to Madeleine's for my wedding dress, 3 bridesmaids dress, and 5 groomsmen's tuxedos. Everything went VERY well with dress shopping, and the fitting experience was top notch! Kristin was sensitive to insecurities, understanding ...and very well knowledgeable about the dresses they had in stock, and were able to visualize wedding themes and colors that would go well together.
The one star portion of this review comes from my veil shopping experience. I tried on several veils, and fell in love with one. I was told that because it was the floor model, I could buy it for 60% off. I did, because I loved it so much! They took it from me, and wrapped it up in a box. I did not witness this wrapping, because I was getting out of my wedding dress.
I didn't open the box with my veil in it until 3 months before my wedding when I was discussing my hair with my hair stylist. It was then that I noticed my veil was NOT the veil that was wrapped up for me! The veil I received was not a Russian tulle birdcage, it was a heavy DARK ivory with LARGE, HEAVY floral designs on it, and didn't even have a finished edge. This was definitely not something I personally would have purchased. I sent a picture to my bridesmaids and my mother-in-law and they all agreed that that was not the veil we all fell in love with. My mother-in-law then sent me a picture of the veil I THOUGHT I purchased, and it indeed was the WRONG veil that I had received.
I called the shop right away, and they had me email them the picture of the correct veil and the picture of the veil I had received. There is a CLEAR difference and they even admitted so, however they told me that a mistake couldn't possibly have been made because I worked with a manager that day! They "couldn't identify" the veil that I fell in love with at their shop, and wouldn't allow a return of the WRONG veil. They offered me 40% off the purchase of a new veil, but I was stuck with a $180 loss. I was so heartbroken!
I went into the store to pick up my last bridesmaid's dress, and I spoke with Lauren who had an attitude from the start; I had began to explain the veil situation and right out of the gate she said, "Oh yes, I heard about this, I can't do anything about it." before I even finished speaking. She told me, word for word, "Well, this was still an expensive veil that you got an INCREDIBLE DEAL on, and you worked with another one of our managers who couldn't possibly have made a mistake, so I'm NOT going to take it back, I'll email you the designer name and you can try and sell it yourself." My husband was so appalled by the lack of quality customer service, he pulled the 5 tuxedo rentals we had with them and refuses to do any business with them going forward. What if this was a dress?!
Ladies, STEER CLEAR. Their customer service skills when correcting problems is disgusting. They have more care invested in their friends working with them than they do the customer.
I found the veil of my dreams elsewhere, and of course, was unable to sell the incredibly ugly veil I paid $180 for and wrongly received.
