This vendor is absolutely amazing. He krpt the party going, and the photo booth was magical for everyone. Would HIGHLY recommend tgis company for any event.
Mike was awesome! So much fun! He chose great music! He wasn’t trying to be the center of attention! Perfect amount of talking and music! He and his wife were a great team!!
I loved working with DJ Brian! He did a great job, the wedding was wonderful. Mike was also great to work with except for a month-long hiatus where he didn't get back to my emails or voicemail. I believe it was an unintentional error, that hopefully he's working to remedy so that it never happens again. Otherwise, the event planning was easy using their online platform. Again, we loved our DJ on the day-of. He asked great questions, and made sure he knew what we wanted ahead of time when we talked on the phone. Mike was also very helpful during my initial outreach when I explained to him the non-traditional wedding-feel we were going for. They were both flexible as the event evolved. Brian was very sweet, and even offered to get us a refill on water since our sweetheart table was next to the DJ table!
I can't speak highly of Mike. He did my sister's wedding 6 years ago, and now my wedding 3 weeks ago. He makes the process so easy and FUN. He did a great job. Worth every penny!
You've found your DJ!!! Headache after headache searching for a reasonably priced DJ , Mike Obara of Magic Mike Entertainment reached out to us offering his services. I cannot tell you how thankful I am for that and him!. He made the process effortless. He was friendly, accommodating and beyond helpful and insightful. On our 3/19/16 wedding, Mikes DJ'ing services blew us away! He was worth every penny spent. Our guest were dancing, having a blast and loving the playlist! We are still receiving compliments on Mikes great personality and how truly great our reception was and we owe that all to Mike and his awesome talents. We also hired Amanda Obara Photography for our wedding day and we are beyond happy with both of their services. What a power couple these two are.
He goes by DJ Mike O'bara, and he was on time, everything was spot on, the Love Story was absolutlely amazing!he was engaging with the giving away of the centerpieces.
I found Mike via http://djmikeobara.com and bought into the concept of if you pay more (~1k) you will get a good DJ with some emcee skills. While I have no doubt Mike is a great DJ, he's the guy I met with, corresponded with, and chose for my wedding, the actual day of my wedding some guy from another company entirely showed up (turns out he's an 80's karaoke DJ for bars). At no point during the last year did I have any clue anyone but Mike would show up for my wedding, I even asked what he wanted for dinner!
Sadly his client planning form broke at some point early in the year and erased all our selections and was not recoverable so I had to rebuild everything in a spreadsheet based off memory of what we had put in during the previous six months. That was a minor issue though, tech problems happen. I tried to set up a meeting with Mike a few weeks out from the wedding but the closer it got to the wedding date my emails were more and more ignored and required more and more attempts just to get simple answers. That should have been a red flag, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
What upset me was arriving to my wedding and someone I'd never met before was there. According to the venue he arrived 20 minutes before I was due to walk down the aisle and was scrambling to set up. His equipment was poor, it was not able to transition, so each song transition was like hitting a brick wall at 60mph, he didn't know who anyone was or any of the time line for the day. My Man of Honor had to run around and get people's names and their order of announcement for the DJ. Fortunately our venue was on the ball and from that point on communicated the timeline. Our Best Man and Man of Honor had to go stand in the corner with a corded mic to give their speeches because he had no wireless mic. He played all bad 80's music and only a fraction of the songs we had on our play lists. We never got to make our thank-you speech. He didn't announce the opening of dessert. Our parents' wedding songs were played during dinner. Our anniversary dance song was not announced, just played randomly. And the cherry on top? For the last song of the evening he played Call Me Maybe. Seriously, at my wedding. Not even a generic slow song.
It saddens me to give this review, I thought I'd be writing something very different. My other vendors were spectacular, and the wedding was flawless aside from this one part, which made it all the more glaring.
