About this vendor
Magnolia Grace Ranch is a stunning countryside wedding venue located in Leonard, TX. Karen Grandstaff and her husband, Rex, purchased the property in 2015, intending to host wedding celebrations. However, after Rex tragically passed, Karen changed the property's name as a tribute to her husband and decided to pursue her dream of managing a wedding venue.
Magnolia Grace Ranch sits on 15 acres of ranchland, offering plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for you and your loved ones to celebrate. The rustic farmhouse, which includes a 7,000-square-foot climate-controlled building, a 2,000-square-foot front porch, and a 1,500-square-foot rear porch, can accommodate up to 280 of your friends and family. Magnolia Grace Ranch has two stunning outdoor ceremony sites to choose from; one out by their lovely tree-lined pond and the other by the creek, up under the majestic canopy of tall trees. Both locations offer amazing views of the property and the surrounding hills and trees.
As well as a gorgeous event space, Magnolia Grace Ranch offers a diverse range of event items for you and your nearest and dearest. The on-site events team will provide and construct your altar and arches, along with audio equipment, chairs, drapery, lighting, linens, and tables. The Magnolia team has an open vendor policy and happily welcomes everyone to their property for the big day. They will provide you with a vendor list to help you make up your mind and can offer advice at every turn. You can contact the team today to find out more.

Unfortunately, our experience with Magnolia Grace Ranch did not go as expected, and I want to share this to help other couples make an informed decision.
We placed a $1,000 deposi...
t based on the information given during our tour. Shortly after, we began noticing differences between what we were told and what was actually included, with several items being quoted as add-ons that we had understood to be part of the package.
There also seemed to be some internal miscommunication. During our visit, we were told that certain promotions are not always fully shared with staff, which made it difficult to get consistent answers. As we reviewed the package, items were described as included but then clarified as add-ons when we asked follow-up questions.
The biggest concern for us was décor. I specifically asked what ‘simple décor’ included and what flower options were available, and was told multiple times that we could choose what we wanted. After placing the deposit, we were later informed that only white flowers and greenery were included.
When I explained I wanted something very simple, cylinder vases with a single rose, I was told I could either bring in my own florals or get a quote from a recommended florist. I was also told that if we brought our own flowers, we would need to provide our own vases as well. Even then, it sounded like we would still need to work through their florist, and there would be additional arrangement fees for setup. This was confusing, especially since décor was originally presented as part of the package.
Since these inconsistencies came up on the first day of planning, we didn’t feel confident moving forward. Unfortunately, we were not able to receive a refund of our deposit.
After reading other reviews, it also seems that similar concerns are not always acknowledged, which added to our hesitation.
My advice to future couples is to make sure every detail is clearly outlined in writing before booking, especially regarding what is included versus what is considered an add-on.
This is only a fraction of my experience, but I fear a longer review would lose readers. If you have five seconds, I would recommend choosing another venue. If you have a few more ...
minutes, here’s why.
I contracted with Magnolia Grace Ranch for an all-inclusive wedding package in 2024 and ultimately canceled due to ongoing issues with vendor coordination, payment delays, and lack of accountability.
The owner frequently stated that she “plans weddings all the time” and emphasized that this was only my first wedding, implying she knew best. However, her actions did not reflect those assurances. Vendors were repeatedly described as “booked” despite having no contracts, no deposits, and in some cases no awareness of my wedding date. Several vendors experienced significant payment delays, including one who waited over 30 days and another nearly 3 months. One vendor even received a bounced check.
When I asked for clarification on costs, the amounts I was told did not consistently align with vendor invoices or actual payments. For example, I was told a DJ had been paid one amount, while the check reflected a lower payment. When I raised concerns, I was told my wedding was “too far away” to be a priority. In one escalation meeting, when we raised some questions she even said I don’t have my notebook on this and could not answer nor seemed to have remembered the things we had told her before.
During this process, I also became aware of other brides who had challenges with this venue but chose not to speak up. In my personal experience and opinion, some seemed hesitant to speak publicly due to concerns about potential repercussions. It’s why I’m writing this AFTER my wedding has passed.
I’m sharing this so future couples can protect themselves. Don’t make the same mistake we did.
If I could give them negative stars, I would. We booked this venue around a year after they opened in 2019 for our wedding in early 2021. The venue itself is beautiful. Because we ...
had so much time to pay it off, we paid off the wedding in September 2020. Obviously in this time, the pandemic happened and our guest list dwindled because no one felt safe coming. We ultimately had 37 people come, but paid for 100. We asked if the additional money we paid the venue could get used in bigger bouquets, different vendors, etc. They said no. They pocketed a LOT of extra money siting that “theyve had such bad business losses from others cancelling” that they “needed” our money to keep open. Bad. Business. The venue is beautiful, we had a great day, but they basically stole money from us. Would not recommend.
We had our wedding this past weekend at Magnolia Grace Ranch and it was perfect, everything I dreamed of. They have 2 ceremony sites, one in front of the pond and one in the trees....
This area often gets bad weather, so the arch structure by the pond was recently blown away. However, Sherry and Charmin let me know ahead of time that they had many other arches to choose from which worked out better than the original IMO. The inside reception area is huge, and decorated beautifully with chandeliers, French doors, and a beautiful fireplace mantle with giant windows around it. Table linens are included in the price, as well as a closet full of extra greenery, signs, etc. the bridal and groom suites are spacious and full of fun activities as well. We are so glad we chose MGR to host our special day, highly recommend this venue!
This venue is beautiful and has plenty of space. We like the venue however the ownership is not great. We booked the venue because we feel in love with the outside steeple with the...
cross above. However, three weeks before our wedding there was a severe storm which blew the entire structure away. This obviously was not the venue’s fault, but they did not tell us until four days before our wedding. I was devastated as that left absolutely no time to make other arrangements. Everyone we told was appalled as well and told us to get a refund, but I felt bad as it is a small business. Unfortunately, the troubles did not end there. The venue owner told us that linens were included in the price. That is true however not for a sweetheart table… we found three days before our wedding we would get an additional bill for the tablecloth rental of $17. Seemed super tacky to us considering they withheld the structure blowing over. Then during the wedding day, the owner was ridiculously unprofessional. We had a wedding planner (with her assistant) as well as parents and a decent size wedding party. I was about to do my first touch with my husband, like I was hiding behind a wall with my maid of honor while the photographers were setting mu husband up in place and this is the moment the owner comes over to talk to me. She asked if we had any alcohol in the bridal suite and said when the bartender arrived, we would need to give it to him? Like okay she could have told any other person including our wedding coordinator, but she came to me before a huge moment. I was so annoyed and put off. Then as we were saying goodbye to our guests she came over and told us we need to put the lawn games away. First of all, we didn’t take them out? They were out when we got there so not sure why it was our responsibility to put them away especially while we are saying goodbye to our guests but sure. Our pregnant wedding coordinator was out there moving all the games inside so we could say goodbye. She could have asked a groomsman or literally anyone else but she came up to me yet again. I do not recommend this venue. There are plenty of other ones owned by people who will be considerate and be mindful of timing. (The owner was also disrespectful to our vendors.)

about helping me and my needs. These women truly care about others and it isn’t just a wedding venue. I couldn’t have been more happy with how my wedding day went. Leading up to the wedding Sherry and Karen helped me with everything I needed and made it so much more smooth for me. (Because every bride needs to have some extra peace for there wedding day) the venue was also perfect. I love the design, is was super clean, it felt comfortable, I didn’t have a single issue, and it was just an amazing day! Sherry helped me so much leading up to the wedding day and it’s honestly so nice to have somebody that actually cares and wants to help. I could go on and on about how much I loved this venue and it was a PERFECT wedding venue! So grateful for Magnolia Grace Ranch!!

wed up and the tables and chairs were set to the way I had it in AllSeated at the 10 day mark before the wedding. The owners of this venue are awesome ladies and so easy to work with! I can’t wait to see this venue blossom even more.

as that they include in their pricing and do not upcharge you. It is beautiful, nestled out in the country with so much open space. I believe we are going to get married under the tree canopy by the river. The pond ceremony is also very pretty and that is still in the running. WE ARE SO EXCITED TO BE HAVING OUR WEDDING HERE!
