Still to this day, our guests are saying it's the best food they have EVER had at a wedding! We know we are biased, but we couldn't agree more! Main and Market also baked our wedding cake and let us tell you- it was amazing! Each of the 4 tiers was a different flavor with a different filling and all of them were equally super tasty- and the cake looked gorgeous! Not only were the food/cake exceptional, but the service was outstanding. Julie, who we worked with throughout the entire process, was THE best. She is so knowledgeable about the catering industry and she was so accommodating with the menu selections. We never doubted for a second that the food would be anything less than perfect because Julie was so organized and confident. Julie and the entire team made sure everyone was taken care of at the wedding and they were constantly checking in to make sure we had enough to eat, drink, etc. They were an absolutely dream to work with and we highly recommend that you book Main and Market for your wedding day- you will not regret it! :)

thing. They were the only caterer that didn’t seem put off by our no-meat wedding, they had so many amazing food options none of our guests noticed the meat was missing! Debra, our Coordinator, fielded a million questions from me in the months leading up to the wedding, always in a friendly and professional way. The day of service was the most impressive. We had a strong chance of thunderstorms for an outdoor wedding, so M&M set up for plan A and plan B, and ultimately made the call 30 minutes before the ceremony. Which I’m so glad because it turned out to be a beautiful day! The staff was so attentive. They made sure the groomsmen had water while waiting for the ceremony, they brought appetizers down to the beach during the reception while the bridal party was taking pictures. During dinner, they checked in on us to make sure we had wine or champagne and water. And at the end of the night, they gathered everything (including items in the bridal suite) and loaded them into our cars for us. They also sent us home with the top tier of our wedding cake. The food was amazing. So many guests were thrilled with the food, particularly the variety of gourmet cupcakes. Overall an amazing experience, almost makes us want to do it again!

During the tasting, she was knowledgable and extremely hospitable. She listened to all our ideas and concerns. She was extremely helpful and offered us many different food options. I felt as if our caterer was also our friendly host and greatly enjoyed our time at Main and Market. The atmosphere was clean, warm, and inviting. Nanette had many great ideas both to save money and what to expect the day of. We had two more tastings before the wedding. One for my husband, who came from Minnesota and the other to clarify what we wanted to add. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely! We went home with full bellies, even though it was just supposed to be samples. The day of the wedding, the staff couldn’t have been better! They were all extremely hospitable, hard working, well dressed, and well mannered. My husband asked for ginger ale at least two times at the sweetheart table and it was there in a snap. We still get compliments on how good the food was. We also added an ice cream bar and mini pecan pies a month before the wedding, and they had it there with no problem! My husband, mother, father and I highly recommend this caterer and Main & Market to anyone! They did such a fantastic job and hope to use them again in the future! Meanwhile, we are thoroughly enjoying their restaurant and all there delicious food and hospitality there.

ully as we were able to get a couple different flavors of cupcake and this way people could take the kind they wanted! We also had small cupcake boxes for them to take home if they wanted them later! ( This was not provided by the bakery, nor was the cupcake stand). We had mini desserts as well for people to pick up and grab and these were a huge hit! The only reason I got to try anything was because after we cut our cake they wrapped up our small cake for us to take home, everything else was gone! Food was wonderful and not expensive for what you're getting! Would recommend!

c. I felt some pressure to add extra things to our proposal although I made them aware of the budget. Aside from that, the food is excellent and the desserts were also good. They are 2 blocks from Quiet WAters Park where the wedding & reception was held which made it very convenient. They are also one of the only caterers that actually cooked the food on-site instead of cooking it first then transporting it to the reception which was a big plus for me! Quality of service was definitely worth the reasonable pricing.

My husband is a chef, and he and Kailey came up with a delicious menu that was in season for the fall, appealed to everyone, but yet wasn't the standard boring wedding food. They also did our cake, which was not only beautiful but absolutely delicious! I don't have any complaints. They were somewhat on the pricey side, but honestly I felt it was worth every dime.

The serving staff are extremely good at the jobs and are on top of everyone's needs immediately. They were excellent about seeing to every dietary and allergy concern we had among all our wedding guests, in these cases more than happy to make up special entrees for those guests who required them. They saw that our other on-site vendors were well-fed as well, and in a manner that did not disrupt the flow of the evening. We received several highly-competent and professional bartenders from them as well. One, Eric, had a nearly photographic memory, it seemed, and would remember every guest's preferred drink, often having them made as those guests got to the front of the bar line. Free champagne was provided for the bride and bridesmaids as they spent the day getting ready for the event that afternoon, and they happily included free lemonade and iced tea for all of our guests throughout the event (on a particularly hot June day, this was amazing). Our day-of coordinator, Nanette, was fantastic as well. She ensured that while the photos were being taken, the serving staff regularly came by with trays of all of our hors d'oeuvres choices, as well as seeing that we always had one of our signature cocktails in hand. All of this service of course, wouldn't mean much if the food wasn't good. Happily, anyone who knows Annapolis should already be aware of The Main Ingredient's stellar reputation as one of the finest cafes in town. Their bakery is also quite legendary and we were bowled over by both the taste and presentation of our wedding cake, which was beautifully designed. It should also be noted that as we were catering clients, the wedding cake was offered at half price with free delivery. We could continue to exhaust superlatives about The Main Ingredient, but we'll leave you with this: if you're planning a wedding anywhere near Annapolis, MD, The Main Ingredient is without a doubt the smartest choice you could make for a vendor.

Rachel was so helpful the couple of weeks before with making sure they had all of our decorations and making sure I was calm!! The food couldn't have been better!! Will definitely use them again!!!!

planning, they were usually quick to respond to my requests and helpful with coordination of events, which was important since I did not have a professional wedding planner. Being the best in town and fairly expensive, by my book at least, I had high expectations of them. They greeted our guests quickly and were friendly throughout our reception, and did a great job helping us package up decorations at the end of the night. Unexpected items: the bartender was inexperienced and fumbled over drinks causing a constant line at the bar, because of the quantity of food served (100 guests) the main course was somewhat dried out and much less impressive than when we tried it at the restaurant (maybe I should have expected this), the side dish was not something we had been able to taste in advance and it wasn't very good so it wasn't eaten by many of our guests or us. They served the cake during the first dances and did not loop back around, so the bride did not get a piece of her own wedding cake. We did order the cake through them as well, and it was wonderful when I got to try the leftovers the next day. Overall, the Main Ingredient was a huge help to me because they coordinated with me for planning the timeline of the reception and setup the tables and chairs in our empty banquet hall. I did not find many other caterers in town who would help me with this, and I wasn't able to do it all myself.

reat and the desserts were a huge hit. We particularly loved the Thai Chicken Salad, and Marzipan Strawberry hourderves. They also were able to recreate a favorite dish of mine that I had years before. Also, when we had a crisis with the flowers for our centerpieces, Jenny was there to save the day with the perfect solution.

We met with Main Ingredient staff a few times, and they even had us meet with our baker who sketched out a design of our cake, which helped us refine our vision. We wanted a very simple, elegant cake and that is what they delivered. Our cake turned out exactly as we envisioned and planned with Main Ingredient. It was amazing, and our guests also said that it was the best cake they have ever tasted. In addition, some of our guests thought it was fondant until they tried it because it was so well frosted. We cannot wait to try it again for our 1 year anniversary! We were highly impressed with Main Ingredient's customer service and their cake design and taste. It was a perfect cake for our wedding day!
