Makeup by January

I will admit being Asian and of a slightly darker complexion than the girls in January portfolio I was hesitant to book her, but I'm so glad I did and I had nothing to worry about! January is exceptional at her job, she was efficient, friendly, communicative and prompt. Everything you want in a makeup artist and more she's got! She is so experienced and made me feel so comfortable in the chair. She never made me feel rushed even though my timeline for the day was tight, her and her assistant, Megan, did an exceptional job accommodating to make sure everyone was done on time. We can't thank January enough for helping all of us feel beautiful on the big day!

I can not say enough good things about my entire experience with January. From the communication, to my trial, to the day of- she was amazing. My trial with her was so fun! She did a full look, then had me message her a few days later with any notes I had or if I wanted anything a little different for the big day. I loved that she gave me tips on skin care leading up to my wedding as well. While our day of schedule was falling into place, January was so responsive as I asked her questions/clarifications on what she may need the day of. Both her and her assistant arrived right on time (even a little early which I loved) on our big day. Both of them took their time and listened to every girls request all while finishing with time to spare. They brought all their supplies and made the whole process so easy. January was truly such a joy to work with and I’m so glad she was who we picked for makeup. I would definitely recommend booking her for your big day!!!

January - as you can see from the SEVERAL other reviews on The Knot - is AMAZING! She was over prepared and flexible to the needs of my bridal party. My mom has trouble getting in high seats (January has a Director' Chair so she doesn't strain her back!) but January flexed for my mom's makeup so that she could stand and sit on the arm of the couch. It meant so much to me (and my mom) that January did this! Further, my makeup turned out AMAZING! I consider myself full glam - sparkle, dark smoky eye, big lashes (think Angelina from Jersey Shore, lol) - and January delivered my look to perfection! I HIGHLY highly recommend doing a trial to make sure that everything turns out perfect for the big day. It's a small added cost but it helped me figure out that I did not like the lashes that we used during my trial and January was able to shop for some fuller lashes than we used so that I loved my makeup for my big day. If you have the pleasure of needing January to bring a second artist, her partner-in-crime is so fun, too! They both did such great work that my girls are STILL talking about how good their makeup looked (my guests made comments to us, too!). I had eight bridesmaids and two of them used January, which is how I found her. One of the previous brides said as soon as she walked in the hotel room, "My favorite days are the ones that start with January doing my makeup." BOOK HER TODAY! :)

January was so easy and great to work with! She really listened to exactly how I wanted my makeup done and made me feel so beautiful! My makeup looked amazing the entire night! I highly recommend January to make you look and feel your best on your big day!

I cannot say enough about how amazing January is! She did my makeup for my wedding and I have never felt more beautiful in my life. My makeup lasted all day, even through all the crying (sorry January! I know you said no tears!) and sweating. Not only was January super professional and maintained AMAZING communication, she has the best vibes and will be part of the party. Thank you for making my day so special!

January was absolutely incredible to work with! I absolutely loved my wedding makeup and it lasted all day. She made my wedding party look stunning as well as MOB & MOG. January and her assistant managed time so well especially with 10 people for makeup services. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would pick January time and time again 🤍

January was so personable and fun to work with. She did both my wife and my makeup and she completely listened to what each of us envisioned (which were two totally different looks) and delivered exactly what we each hoped for. We had 11 bridesmaids and two moms get their makeup done. She brought someone to help and together they made amazing and efficient work of the group, all while January took extra time to make my wife and I feel special and pampered on our big day! The makeup looked phenomenal long into the night and turned out so well in pictures. We highly recommend her!

January was amazing! She was kind and easy to work with. January is so knowledgeable in her craft. She took my style/look and enhanced it for the big day. I LOVED how she made me feel and look. Would highly recommend!

January was the makeup artist for my wedding, she did 4 bridesmaids and myself. If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would! She was willing to drive an hour to our venue and be there at 7am, she promptly set up and wasted no time in getting started, she made sure everyone felt beautiful and handled any special requests, and she made sure we were finished on time. She’s not only an amazing makeup artist, she’s a genuinely kind and wonderful person. I will definitely be recommending her to anyone who needs professional makeup done!
