I bought my wedding dress from here and absolutely loved it and the designer. However, my experience with the alterations person, Olga - while not directly affiliated with the shop was recommended to me by the shop - was rough. I was charged $6...75 up front for alterations. My dress did not need anything done that was out of the ordinary for a dress to be made modest. This story in full is incredibly long, but I am just over it and won’t go into all the details but do want to be informative and helpful for other brides. The shop and Olga didn’t seem to communicate well. Olga told me this up front charge was the only charge I would receive including any additional materials needed along the way - but I was charged for additional materials she got from the shop. I was supposed to only have 2-3 fittings and ended up with I think I counted 6. I had to take work off & drive 30-45 minutes one way each time. This was not due to any nit-picking on my part or additional requests. Each time I had a fitting almost nothing had been done and Olga had forgotten everything from the time before - one of which included using the wrong material for the wrong part of the dress. I was patient as she was very kind and I could tell she was doing her best, but when it came down to it my dress did not fit AT ALL for my bridal photos. On top of that, the workmanship of the other parts were subpar at best. When I came to Olga's house for a fitting to fix things AFTER my bridal photos were taken I saw her basement crammed full of dresses from the shop. I had to go to Olga multiple times after my bridals and one of those was when she realized she had cut the lining to the wrong size. I decided to give her one last go before going to someone else because I was trying to get my money's worth and she was very kind, so I was hoping that at some point it would be right. Before, what I had decided would be the last time I would try her, I took videos of myself in the dress while pointing out each thing that still hadn't been fixed. I told Olga about the videos and she was appreciative & had me send them to her after the appointment as a reference - this was a week and a half before wedding day. When I tried it on after getting it back that last time, sure enough, she had fixed one side of the shoulder where extra fabric was jetting out obscurely but not the other, the hem was still very poorly cut in the tulle, and while the dress would close, it did not fit and the elastic loops for the buttons stretched open any time I breathed out. I found someone who was able to fix some things, but because the lining was cut too small and we were now within the week of the wedding, she couldn't do much more to make it fit. So on my wedding day I felt self-conscious about the fact that my dress didn't quite fit, which also created more cleavage than I wanted because of the tightness, and never got that classic picture of me in my dress from the back to showcase the buttons and train. I notified the owner of the shop about the situation. She responded very sympathetic and was horrified by my experience. I had only notified her for the purpose of letting her know the person she was recommending her brides to for alterations was doing poorly. However, she stepped in and said she would talk to Olga and make sure I got all my money back. Long story short, that didn't happen and I got a partial refund of $250 even though I had contacted Olga and she agreed to $375.
