Malmrose was my first appointment to find my wedding dress and Cate was my consultant, she was very sweet and chose exactly what I was looking for it, and I loved all of them but when I tried the last one I knew that was the ONE. All the ladies that work there are soo nice, sweet and helpful. I totally recommend Malmrose 100%.
As a plus-size bride, I was nervous to find my dream dress. The ladies at the shop made me feel beautiful and special! The shop is beautiful and takes great care of dresses. They have alterations available. I am so glad I went to Malmrose!
Malmrose Bridal made my entire wedding dress experience a dream. I came into my appointment with a vague vision for what I wanted, and my consultant helped me narrow down my ideas to find the perfect dress! They ordered the dress, helped me coordinate and complete alterations, set up cleaning and preservation after the wedding, and were unbelievably friendly and sweet every time I went in.
I made a VIP appointment with Malmrose Bridal and it was absolutely amazing. I was able to have the bridal shop to myself with my family/bridal party there. Alayna was my bridal consultant and she was so great. I had no idea what I wanted in a dress and she found THE perfect one and stayed within my budget. It was such a smooth and memorable experience I will always cherish. Afterwards they had yummy refreshments for me and everyone I brought with to the VIP appointment. The money I spent for the VIP appointment then went towards my dress. Alayna thank you so much for an amazing night!
I decided 3 weeks before my wedding I wanted a new dress. I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to find anything. My fiancé called Malmrose Bridal because we had driven past the store before. They said they could get me in that day and after he called we went to the store 30 minutes later. When I arrived everyone was so kind. Sydney made me feel so comfortable! She picked out a gorgeous gown that was exactly what I was looking for and I took the dress home the same day. I cannot thank the staff enough for welcoming me into the store and helping me find my dream dress!
I bought my wedding dress from here and absolutely loved it and the designer. However, my experience with the alterations person, Olga - while not directly affiliated with the shop was recommended to me by the shop - was rough. I was charged $675 up front for alterations. My dress did not need anything done that was out of the ordinary for a dress to be made modest. This story in full is incredibly long, but I am just over it and won’t go into all the details but do want to be informative and helpful for other brides. The shop and Olga didn’t seem to communicate well. Olga told me this up front charge was the only charge I would receive including any additional materials needed along the way - but I was charged for additional materials she got from the shop. I was supposed to only have 2-3 fittings and ended up with I think I counted 6. I had to take work off & drive 30-45 minutes one way each time. This was not due to any nit-picking on my part or additional requests. Each time I had a fitting almost nothing had been done and Olga had forgotten everything from the time before - one of which included using the wrong material for the wrong part of the dress. I was patient as she was very kind and I could tell she was doing her best, but when it came down to it my dress did not fit AT ALL for my bridal photos. On top of that, the workmanship of the other parts were subpar at best. When I came to Olga's house for a fitting to fix things AFTER my bridal photos were taken I saw her basement crammed full of dresses from the shop. I had to go to Olga multiple times after my bridals and one of those was when she realized she had cut the lining to the wrong size. I decided to give her one last go before going to someone else because I was trying to get my money's worth and she was very kind, so I was hoping that at some point it would be right. Before, what I had decided would be the last time I would try her, I took videos of myself in the dress while pointing out each thing that still hadn't been fixed. I told Olga about the videos and she was appreciative & had me send them to her after the appointment as a reference - this was a week and a half before wedding day. When I tried it on after getting it back that last time, sure enough, she had fixed one side of the shoulder where extra fabric was jetting out obscurely but not the other, the hem was still very poorly cut in the tulle, and while the dress would close, it did not fit and the elastic loops for the buttons stretched open any time I breathed out. I found someone who was able to fix some things, but because the lining was cut too small and we were now within the week of the wedding, she couldn't do much more to make it fit. So on my wedding day I felt self-conscious about the fact that my dress didn't quite fit, which also created more cleavage than I wanted because of the tightness, and never got that classic picture of me in my dress from the back to showcase the buttons and train. I notified the owner of the shop about the situation. She responded very sympathetic and was horrified by my experience. I had only notified her for the purpose of letting her know the person she was recommending her brides to for alterations was doing poorly. However, she stepped in and said she would talk to Olga and make sure I got all my money back. Long story short, that didn't happen and I got a partial refund of $250 even though I had contacted Olga and she agreed to $375.
I loved working with this shop! They helped me to know what to expect when I found "the" dress, they made sure to bring dresses within my budget, and my happiness as a bride was a priority. Mary even included the buttons needed for the alterations without charging us for them. I don't have a negative thing to say about my experience.
Anastasia was the best! She helped me get my dream dress and knew exactly what I wanted!!
Amy seemed really nice throughout my appointment and was helpful as I didn't know exactly what I wanted. The dress was more than I was hoping to spend but with the modifications she showed me it was the perfect dress.
UPDATE:
I feel like I've been swindled. I bought the dress almost a year ago but waited until closer to my wedding date to start working on the alterations (as is usually recommended). When I tried on the dress at the store it had quite a bit more poof then I wanted but Amy said I just needed to unpick some of the crinoline and she pulled back the crinoline to showed me how the dress would look once it was removed. I loved this look so I broke my budget to buy the dress. Unfortunately it isn't a simple alteration (just removing the crinoline) like Amy said it would be.
I live in a different state and brought the dress back to my home state with me so I wouldn't have to fly back and forth for fittings. I had some of the crinoline removed form the dress but it just has too much fabric and it folds funny with the crinoline removed. I found a couple different bridal seamstresses who looked at the dress and said that there was absolutely no way to get the look that Amy showed me without completely re-doing the dress (which would cost hundreds).
I called and emailed the store to see if they could give me some suggestions/recommendations on what I could do to get the dress to look the way Amy showed me. The store was nice to call me back to discuss the dress and I spoke with the owner Mary who said that since their seamstresses didn't do the alterations and the dress was out of state there wasn't a lot they could do. After talking for about an hour she agreed that it sounded like there was a misunderstanding between Amy and I. Mary said that because alterations had been made to the dress (the bustle had been put in and as well as the shoulder lift they recommended) that they might have problems reselling it but said that she wanted to make it right so that I could mail the dress back to them and she'd have her alteration people take a look at it and see what they could offer me for the dress. I realize that I wouldn't get the full amount I paid for the dress back but I appreciated the gesture to make it right as I was clearly deceived with how the dress could look. Unfortunately the very next day I received an email from Mary saying she had changed her mind and that it would be impossible for them to resell the dress (although she said yesterday that they have the exact same dress in the store and the alterations done are alterations that they recommend).
You might think I just misunderstood Amy. After visiting several bridal seamstresses, I thought maybe I did too. But I asked all of my sisters and friends that were with me when I bought the dress, and they all agree that Amy was saying I could easily make the dress look like it did when she pulled it back.
I feel like I was completely swindled. Although Mary said the consultants don't work on commission it feels like they just wanted the sale and now that time has passed they don't care that what they said was wrong - they have their money. I DO NOT recommend this dress shop to anyone as I don't feel like they can be trusted. They'll tell you that impossible alterations can be made to a dress that and then make other promises which they will go back on.
I absolutely LOVED my wedding dress from Malmrose! I had a really difficult time finding a dress, I live in PHX and I had found a dress at a boutique that then went bankrupt. I thought I'd never find another dress I loved as much, but when I was visiting a friend she suggested we look together. The ladies at Malmrose nailed the look I was going for and honestly the dress I got was so much better, it was meant to be! They were patient and took the time to understand my vision and they brought it to life. Thank you!!!
Don’t go here unless you want to feel presurred into buying an expensive dress. It’s not even worth your time going here.
absolutely horrible! The owners of this dress shop are not honest people! They will do ANYTHING to make an extra buck! And do not stick to there word. If you go here, make sure you thoroughly check the dress!! They don’t care if they send you away with a rip in your dress. I will be buying ANOTHER wedding dress from someone else. And I will always tell people never to go here.
I ended up winning their Bridal Suite at a Bridal show, and I AM SOOO GLAD I DID. I got to bring up to 15 of my friends/family to come into their store after hours and shop for a dress. They had some food and drinks set up for us, as well as cute little chalk boards so that my entourage could rate the dresses I had tried. They let us choose music to play. They were all extremely friendly and welcoming. It was a world of difference in comparison with some other bridal shops around Utah. I didn't feel judged for not wanting anything super traditional. They took their time and really listened to what I wanted, what my style is and what flatters my body the best. It only took four try-ons and on the fourth I FOUND MY WEDDING DRESS! I am extremely happy with it in every way, they were mindful of my budget, and I just had a great time. They have so many great designers and employees. If you go anywhere to shop for a dress, PLEASE go here. You won't regret it.
I seriously had the best experience at Malmrose Bridal and found the perfect dress!! Highly recommend buying your dress here!
Everyone there is so so sweet and very genuine. They listen, really listen! And they'll spend all the time getting to know you.
In a nut shell this is what should have been different and what needs to change to make this dress store work.
1. Less pressure to buy and say this is the dress. More privacy to talk to your party and talk about concerns.
2. Be able to take a picture of the dress because I wouldn’t have bought it if I had the chance to look at it later and decide and know the dress isn't my style nor looked that great.
3. The owner was fake and passive aggressive after I bought the dress. And blamed me for the mistake that their communication caused.
4. Don’t say you can make something that you cannot make in the time that it is needed.
5. Don’t over charge me for something just because your the owner and you can.
6. If there is an unhappy customer try to compromise to make both parties happy.
7. Better communication with seamstress and owner so fabric can be available in the right color and in a time adequate to get the project finished,
I am NOT HAPPY with my dress and I will be BUYING A NEW one for my wedding in a month. A STRESSFUL time to have added stress by a unpleasant NOT FUN memory and event.
And I want to know why on this facebook page I cannot read the 1 star review. Was it deleted by the page? All these 5 stars seam sketchy.
I give the 5 starts to the actually dresses and the sales ladies at the store.
1 star to the actual store, store owner, customer service and the whole experience.
I absolutely loved this place! I went in with a few must have things for my dress & Sophia nailed it! She made sure my family & I were welcomed & comfortable! Her fun personality & knowledge
made the experience all the better!
Worst experience ever!! Do not advise buying from this bitter woman's shop!
Amazing! I went in with a pretty specific idea of what I wanted in mind. They nailed it! I didn't feel pressure to buy and they were so helpful and friendly. Every dress in the store was beautiful and everyone (bride or staff) was so happy. I would highly recommend them!
So amazing! Fun, caring staff that really makes you feel special. I didn't have a clue what I wanted and was there hours past close and didn't even realize. On top of that I didn't feel pressure to buy, I felt like they cared about me not the sale.
Absolutely love this place. So friendly and amazing selection. I was worried about the selection cause it's smaller but it had more selection, prettier dresses and better prices than the bigger stores. Go here!!!
