Gillian at Mankin mansion is phenomenal! The venue was a dream to get married at, you can tell that they know weddings! If it is in your budget I can not recommend the fireworks enough! They are a wonderful way to end the night!
Eric and I made a fantastic choice with Mankin Mansion. The moment we saw the venue at the Richmond Wedding Expo, we knew it was the one for us. While we explored other options, our hearts kept leading us back to Mankin Mansion. Our wedding was truly amazing, and everyone had a wonderful time. We are especially grateful to Hana and Aaron for their exceptional service. Thank you all for making our day so special.
We could not have asked for a better wedding experience! The venue is STUNNING, but the planning team is what really takes Mankin above and beyond! My husband and I were hesitant to have a big wedding due to the stress that comes with planning, but the Mankin team made it so easy! They paid attention to every tiny detail to make sure the day went smoothly for our guests. Many of our guests commented on how blown away they were by the Mankin team, and we couldn't agree more! We did not have a single thing to worry about on our big day and we are so grateful to Mankin for ensuring everything went off without a hitch. We are so thankful to Mankin for everything they did to make our celebration so memorable and exceeding our expectations for our wedding. If you're on the fence, book it! Mankin Mansion is a phenomenal venue. Take one step onto the expertly manicured grounds and you’ll instantly feel two things. First, a complete understanding as to why they rank amongst the top wedding venues in Richmond and are regular features in notable publications. And two, the staff and planning team are top-notch! Planning for your own wedding is such a special time in every bride/groom’s life and the vendors you choose go a long way in making that process either a smooth undertaking or a big headache. In the two years my husband and I worked with Mankin Mansion for our spring 24 wedding we always felt at ease about the planning process due to all of the support we received from our planning team. They are all amazing wedding professionals with extensive experience in planning and customer service. The day of my wedding I didn’t have a worry in the world because Mankin handled any and every thing, which allowed my husband and I to simply enjoy all our hard work and loved ones on our special day. Genuinely, we couldn’t have asked for a better venue. 5/5 stars!!
My husband, Clay, and I celebrated our wedding at Mankin Mansion last September, and it was the best decision we made in our planning process. As a wedding planner at MM, I was initially hesitant to get married at my workplace, but no other venue came close to what MM offers! My husband and I visited Mankin Mansion and we instantly knew that it was the perfect venue for us! We worked with Gillian over the next 2 (ish) years to create the perfect wedding and timeline for us. We loved how much was included in the packages and how easy they made everything. Gillian and her assistant Emily truly make you feel so cared about during the entire process. On our day it did rain but the team were absolute pros and made the whole transition inside so easy and didn’t ask or “bother” my husband or I with any detail related questions about any of the decor they had to find a new layout for. It was so nice being able to trust that they would be able to handle the new plan without stressing either one of us out. We absolutely love Mankin and would recommend it to anyone!! They are the experts and treat you like family!
This venue and the staff here made our wedding day an absolute DREAM. Our wedding would not have been nearly as wonderful if we didn't have Gillian, our planner with HMM. We felt supported throughout the entire journey, and then the actual event itself was beyond all expectations. We could ask Gillian any questions we had, and she gave thoughtful and honest answers. The on staff DJ was perfect too, we gave him a few ideas, but he really knocked it out of the park.
HMM has always been a special venue for my wife and myself. So, selecting Mankin as our venue was a no brainer. Every part of the property is beautiful and made our wedding day a dream come true. Planning with Leah and the Aisle Planner made things so much more comfortable. After planning, booking vendors, and creating a vision of your ceremony and reception, seeing it all come to life is so surreal and couldn't have been possible without the HMM Team. The accessories list Mankin offers is a very convenient way to add more decor/fun to your wedding day. Martin was fantastic and kept the dance floor busy all night long. We love HMM!
I had a feeling about HMM from the start, and when we visited back in May 2021 during the venue search I knew it was the place for our wedding. Their package is unbeatable in terms of what it includes, and Leah, the planner who comes with the venue is a dream. I wouldn't have been able to keep everything moving and organized without her, and she was essential on the day of when it came to sticking to our packed schedule and wrangling two huge families. Martin, the owner of the venue, DJ'd our reception and did an amazing job keeping the party going all night. If you want a truly magical venue with a seamless planning experience, look no further than Mankin Mansion!
I cannot rave enough about Mankin. There is so much included with their package that it was a no brainer, and they really care about their couples. We had to delay twice because of Covid and they were incredibly generous and considerate given how difficult of a time it must have been for the business. On the actual wedding day I felt like I did not have to worry about a single thing. Our wedding planner Leah that came with the venue was on top of every detail and made sure the whole day was everything we hoped it would be. Martin, one of the owners, also DJed for our wedding which was included in the package and did a fantastic job. 10/10 no regrets
This was the best decision my husband and I made. Everything was set up for us the day of. All we focused on was getting ready, and everything else fell into place. It was the most smooth, seamless wedding ever!! I am so thankful for the staff, but especially our coordinator Gillian! The DJ, Martin, was also amazing and played the best music based on the engagement of our guests. The last song he chose was the BEST way to end our wedding. We can’t stress how flawless the entire experience was, and how beautiful this venue is. Would highly recommend to everyone!
The space, the people, the peace of mind. My fiancé and I were planning our Richmond wedding from afar. As many of you know, there are a thousand details, and it can be difficult to just trust your team with so much, but Mankin went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was nothing short of magical. I was a bride with them in April of 2022, our rehearsal marked the second time that I had ever stepped foot at our venue. That is how much you can trust them, and how incredible a team they are. The grounds have so much to offer. One of the reasons we chose the location is because of the privacy. We had the entire grounds just for us and our wedding guests. Our guests commented that there was something for everyone. We had lawn games, the hedge maze was a huge hit, as was the fire pit. I cannot commend Leah highly enough. She worked seamlessly with all of our vendors and the rest of our team.

Historic Mankin Mansion exceeded our expectations and made our wedding day a perfect one for the books. The setting is gorgeous every which way you turn, Martin killed it DJing from start to finish and the many included amenities and decor offerings made planning the little details simple. Our wedding coordinator Gillian is a literal angel and incredible at what she does. She truly made our experience with HMM exceptional. The planning support was so streamlined and organized, making planning from a year out to the days leading up as stress-free as wedding plan can be. You can't go wrong with this venue!
I LOVED having our wedding here. Gillian was absolutely amazing - I remember finishing the sparkler exit and her being there and I got really sad and said I'm really going to miss you! She was the absolute best - and made sure everything went great. A wedding is literally one of the best days of your life and you want people that truly care to be helping/around you. The venue is perfect as is - I could literally go on and on, because words doesn't even do the justice. Don't sleep on this venue it is absolutely the best & you will have the best people around you helping/preparing you for the big day!
My husband made the BEST choice ever by choosing HMM as our wedding venue. There is so many wonderful things to say about how our day was extra special due to the kindness, professionalism, and organization of this planning team. Let's start with the planning team. Gillian is absolutely amazing. She made sure that my husband and I lead the decisions with her expert lens right beside us the entire time. For someone who was more on the "organizational/type A" ish type of bride, she was excellent at making sure our details and big picture were captured. When it was time to select wedding vendors she provided a great resource list, and made sure to stay in contact with them as well to make sure everyone was on the same page. We were matched perfectly with a DJ there, and even the financial department was incredibly nice and professional. Next is the venue itself....wow...there is so much to say. This venue is stunning. There are so many hidden gems throughout the venue that are perfect eye catchers for you and your guest, and for pictures. We decided to use the indoor ceremony space and again it was beautiful. I love that they have several complimentary accessory packages that way most main wedding things you may need, they probably already have (i.e., candle holders, easels, welcome signs, seating chart easel, votives, fireworks, chargers, linens, cake/cupcake stands, getaway car etc). Lastly, the customer service was amazing. Every time we had a meeting at the venue we were met with amazing customer service that left my husband and I feeling amazing and excited each time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Getting married at Mankin Mansion was the best choice I made in the entire wedding planning process. The space is beautiful, the planning team is incredible, and they made our day run so perfectly.
We picked Mankin because we wanted an all in one experience, to make our lives easier, and to make it easy for our guests, and they delivered. From the first meeting to our grand exit, as a bride, I knew the entire time that our special day was in great hands.
First of all, Mankin Mansion is simply beautiful. The grounds are amazing, and beautiful year round. And they fully customized our ceremony and reception in the gallery and tent to make it really come together. And the BRIDAL SUITE is to die for. Having a beautiful private space to get ready with my mom and bridesmaids made me feel like a queen. Pictures do not do this venue justice.
Second, the planning team is unmatched. Leah is outstanding. She made it all come together perfectly. She kept me on track with planning, coordinated between all of the vendors to make sure everyone knew just what to do, She made me feel like I was the only wedding she was planning the entire time! And on the day of the wedding, she seamlessly maintained the flow of the day. She even bustled my dress for me outside in 20 degree weather. I wish I had a Leah for real life.
Plus, having the music team available through the venue was so great because it was just one less thing to worry about. All the equipment is there, and they are fully involved in the ceremony and reception planning, so there was no hiccups or confusion.
There just aren’t enough words to describe how happy I am with how perfect our wedding turned out and it is all thanks to the team at HMM. They made sure every detail was handled and made it so that my husband and I were fully present with our friends and family on the happiest days of our lives.
I cannot say enough amazing things about the beautiful venue, but it’s really the team that makes Mankin so special. They are MORE than impressive. They are the ne plus ultra of the wedding industry. I have been a professional wedding planner for several years now, and Mankin Mansion is by far one of the best venues I have had the pleasure to work with. I selected them as the venue for my own wedding because it is gorgeous, offers tremendous value, and has an incredible staff. All of our guests still tell me how beautiful it was! Martin and Gillian were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The overnight cottages for our guests were an incredible edition and really let guests enjoy the night to the fullest. The luxury getaway car was a great touch. Martin's son was our driver and he was delightful. It was the best wedding that I could have possibly planned because the team at Mankin Mansion are true industry professionals!
We had the wedding of our dreams at HMM! They make the planning process so easy with their team of professionals. We knew from the moment we first visited the Historic Mankin Mansion that this was "our venue." HMM's grounds are gorgeous year-round and is constantly maintained to ensure it is photogenic from every angle. To be honest, it does not feel like you're in Richmond or Virginia when you're there—that's the best part! Historic Mankin Mansion is so unique as a venue, especially for weddings in Virginia where so many couples get married at the vineyards over and over again. HMM is special and was the best to work with. The team is small AND mighty! The owners, Paula and Martin, are with you throughout the process and know how to plan for and execute weddings. Their planners are just as amazing! We worked with Gillian and Lauren and they made us feel loved and respected and cared for throughout the many months we spent planning for our wedding... IT WAS PERFECT! We knew that our wedding was "a dream wedding" and now that we're married, we look back and can still say it was a dream that came true. The entire team is detail-oriented and cares about every moment. As a well experienced team, they share such wonderful insight and ideas for you and are candid—which meant a lot to us. Trust us when we say you want to work with a team that cares about you enough to give you candid feedback and suggestions ... they are experts at what they do!
We truly enjoyed every moment of the process and could not be happier with how our wedding weekend went at HMM. Everything was perfect! Our family and friends are still raving about everything weeks later and continue to share how much they loved our venue, the team, the grounds, and how much fun we had celebrating together. This is truly the best wedding venue in Virginia. We looked at a couple of venues online before coming to the mansion, but as soon as we visited, we had to lock it down. From the beginning, HMM had the most warmest welcome and answered any questions we had. The largest plus for us was how all-inclusive it is. My husband and I live very busy schedules and we loved how organized HMM was. From the DJ, transportation, decor, easy communication between vendors, and an incredible planning team, HMM really thought of it all.
Our wedding planner, Gillian was a delight to work with. She and the HMM staff made sure to schedule meetings throughout the planning process to keep us on task, provides an easy website to help with checklists and seating charts, and was incredible beyond words on the wedding day. We truly did not have to worry about anything going wrong on the day of because we had full trust in the HMM team!
This venue is beautiful inside and out and has so much charm! We cannot recommend it enough!
I don't even know where to start with this venue. My fiance & I had been looking for a venue where we could hold our micro wedding for months!- we met with Martin & we were so impressed that he treated us just like other people that would be having a large wedding... which we had problems with with other venues we had looked at. The venue is sooo stunning & has so many places for nice pictures & videos, but what I have to mention is the coordinator that helped us. Gillian was AMAZING & was my most favorite part of the Mankin Mansion. She helped us every step of the way & I can truly not say enough good things about her & this establishment. She took all my stress away during the planning process & she made my wedding day go so smoothly. Gillian, you are the best!! I highly recommend having a wedding or event here, I would get married all over again & not change a single thing!!
I came across this venue after visiting various venues and mentioning to a friend my concern in planning my own wedding and all the hidden/additional costs. A good wedding planner can be costly. My friend recommended looking for an all inclusive wedding venue, which is how this place came up.
And while this was a bit of a drive for us (2 hours), I was eager to check it out as the pictures made this place look beautiful and unique. When we arrived, we were stunned at the beauty, uniqueness and just how serene this place was. The pictures truly don't do the place justice.
Martin explained to us the process and what was included. I mentioned I was concerned because we were from out of town and that could effect my ability to find and visit vendors. Martin assured me they could assist me by recommending vendors they have worked with in the past.
They give you access to a site with everything you could possibly need leading up to your big day. It includes a checklist with recommended completion dates to keep you on track, set up list, event time line, guest list, seating chart and so much more. The venue comes with a wedding planner, DJ, and various accessories. The place is so beautiful you really don't need to spend on florals or additional accessories, but can should you wish to.
I was assigned Gillian at first before working with Leah. Honestly both were amazing and really know what they are doing. I had various meetings with them to keep me on track. They also are so responsive whether you call or e-mail, and are great at sending you follow-up e-mails after every meeting to make it clear what I needed to do/summarize important talking points discussed during our meetings.
I'm not going to lie, with everything I had going on outside of wedding planning I had a lot going on and unfortunately procrastinated a bit on a lot of the wedding planning. Not a problem because Leah helped keep me on track. She was a tremendous help. I didn't realize how much help I would need with music selection, but Martin helped guide us with the music selection and offered many helpful tips and recommendations. He knows his stuff!
The day of my wedding was the most magical and perfect day. Everything went so smoothly. Leah, Gillian and Martin were all on site to keep everything on track. Martin knew how to keep the party on the dance floor. I cannot tell you how many of my guests came up to me to tell me they now understood why I planned a wedding 2 hours away, and just how serene and beautiful the venue was.
I cannot tell you how amazing and professional this HMM team is. If you are hesitant in booking, I say book now. You won't regret it and they book quick.

HMM is the most perfect venue you can find in Richmond. All of my guest were impressed with the area and some even mentioned how they were shocked the tent had AC/ Heat and real doors.
It also rained on my wedding day and the fact that there's an indoor option that's equally as beautiful as outside is amazing.
My overall experience was amazing and if I had to do it over again I would still choose HMM. A lot of praise goes to Gillian though, she is an amazing person and made my planning so easy; especially since I was planning from out of state. She was accommodating and was on top of EVERYTHING. I honestly feel like I didn't do much work.
Almost immediately after we got out of our car to tour the space, we knew Historic Mankin Mansion was the perfect venue for us. Our coordinator, Gillian Zehr, was just astonishing – she is personable and friendly, but SO on top of every detail (both big and small) that made our ceremony and reception special. We’ve been receiving nonstop compliments from our friends and family about how gorgeous the venue was. The grounds are meticulously landscaped and well maintained and provided us with so many options for taking photos. On a more practical note, Mankin provided all the tables and chairs needed for both a ceremony and reception and offers a huge inventory of miscellaneous décor – table numbers, cake stands and cutters, etc. We opted to also rent tablecloths through them at a very reasonable charge.
Planning a wedding during a global pandemic was not easy, but Gillian and the rest of the Mankin team were phenomenal to work with! We truly just had to show up and everything was taken care of. Martin (the venue owner and DJ) did a fantastic job with the music selection during the reception – the dance floor was packed, and everyone had a blast. From start to finish, they were incredibly responsive to emails and calls throughout our planning process and made every moment of planning enjoyable and stress free. We truly cannot imagine what our wedding day would’ve been like without their hard work and assistance and I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Historic Mankin Mansion was a dream venue and we highly recommend it! Every time we visited for a planning meeting, we were in awe of its beauty, especially the gardens. If I had to summarize the vibe of the venue, I would say garden party, with Great Gatsby glamor. We initially heard about HMM in our search for a wedding venue that allowed dogs to be a part of your wedding, which, they do! It made our day so much more special and fun to have our dogs there. The most amazing aspect about this venue, however, is all that is included: a wedding coordinator/planner, DJ, all the tables/chairs, and lots of décor, to name some of the bigger things. These are all huge items on your planning checklist that you get to cross off all at once. Additionally, packages include a hotel block (the hotel is only five mins away) with a free shuttle to/from the hotel. To not have to worry about guests drinking and driving is massive. Also, the bridal party getting ready room is stunning, and the groomsmen getting ready room has TVs, a pool table, foosball, and other games, which is a nice/fun touch for your day. This is a maybe silly detail but was important to me- another thing I absolutely loved about HMM is that you do not have to settle for a yucky backup space if you have rainy weather because their indoor ceremony space is just as stunning as the gardens. The entire HMM team was delightful to work with and the planning team thinks of EVERY detail in the planning process- you can can just show up the day of your wedding, know that everything is well taken care of, and savor the day!!
The Historic Mankin Mansion is the best kept secret in the Commonwealth!! From the first time that I arrived unannounced to look at the venue in anticipation of our daughter's wedding, Gillian Zehr (who became our wedding coordinator) treated me with kindness and answered my every question. Martin and his team have built an amazing all inclusive wedding venue, but as good as the grounds and physical plant are, the staff and team are the stars of the show. Our wedding coordinator, Gillian Zehr, was an angel sent from heaven. This lady is an absolute professional in every way. She was ultra responsive and communicative, she literally thought of everything, she is kind, a good listener, and nothing rattles her. This lady took so much much pressure and stress off of our family, because we knew that she always had everything under control. I have been in the business world for over 30 years, and Gillian is one of the best that I have ever dealt with. Book this venue NOW, because their calendar fills up fast....and now I know why!! Bravo and thank you so much!!
We chose this venue initially when we lived across the country for the convenience that SO much is done for you/included. We ended up moving back closer but in the end I am still glad we chose such an all inclusive venue. I've never planned a wedding before and they walk you through each and every step to ensure things are done. I had zero questions or hesitations about the wedding leading up to it because they prepare you so well. Leah, my planner, was AMAZING. The day of she got us drinks, held them during photos, helped me with my bustle when it wouldn't cooperate, and made us feel so comfortable. I also have received comments from each of our guests about how beautiful the venue was. There are so many places for guests to be, inside and out which came in handy with COVID, to be able to spread out. I honestly have too many good things to say about the venue and it hands down is worth every single penny. We had a smaller budget and chose to spend most on the venue and it was WORTH IT. Again, everything is either done for you or they help you significantly with it all. I would give it 20 stars if I could :)
This is one of the most unique venues you will find. The indoor options are just as good as the outdoor and the landscaping is pristine. The attention paid to detail extends far beyond just the esthetics of the venue. The staff works hard to make sure that every step of the big day is seamless and exactly how you want it. My wife and I were so happy with how our wedding day turned out and we have received countless compliments for choosing this venue!
The venue sets the tone for your wedding. Mankin is classy and serene, well organized and professional from beginning to end. We had an absolutely perfect wedding day at Mankin Mansion. We really wanted a low stress experience and this venue made that possible. Working with Gillian was a JOY. She understood our vision and gave us numerous suggestions and advice to make things perfect. If we had to do it all over again, we'd pick Mankin every time. It was the best decision we made.
As a wedding videographer, I'm always hoping for a GORGEOUS venue to film when it comes to wedding day. The Historic Mankin Mansion did NOT disappoint! Not only were the grounds PERFECT for the film, the staff was professional and extremely helpful to me the entire wedding day. Despite the rain moving the wedding indoors and grounding my drone flight, the day was beautiful and everyone still had a great time!
Mankin Mansion was the perfect venue for our wedding, and I would recommend it ro anyone looking for a fun space and a great team. When we were looking for a space, we wanted a spot where we really felt we could host a celebration with all our friends and family. With its tent, patio, gardens, indoor area, and more, Mankin was that spot for a great time. It was the most expensive spot we looked at, but ulitimately we decided to book because we loved the venue and so many things like the DJ, coordinating services, and decorations were included. This was the right choice! Even though we paid more money upfront, we saved money in the long run with all the services Mankin provided. They also were so incredibly easy to work with and we avoided a lot of the nightmares other couples experienced due to COVID. We had to rebook twice, and the venue with so flexible and supportive as we tried to figure out our best options. Our coordinator Gillian was absolutely fantastic, along with the rest of the Mankin team who supported her day of, and she made everything flow so smoothly so we did not have to worry about the little details day of and just have fun. Their DJ also did a fantastic job. My husband has very particular tastes about music and was worried about whether or not the music would align with our vision, but Martin hit it out of the park. We had a beautiful wedding that everyone enjoyed thanks to the Mankin team.
We just celebrated our wedding at the Historic Mankin Mansion and we have to let everyone know how absolutely fabulous it was. Our coordinator, Gillian, was beyond amazing! I had always heard great things about Mankin and loved seeing wedding photos from couples who had chosen this as their venue.
When we toured Mankin in hopes of working with them as our wedding venue, we absolutely knew they were the right choice. From their incredible team to beautiful location, they provide the best service and make each couple feel incredibly special. Having our wedding at Mankin was the best decision we could have made. They ran everything like a well-oiled machine and literally not one thing went "wrong" on my big day (which is a big deal coming from a Type A bride!). Another perk of this venue is a Day Of planner that comes with your package which was a huge asset to our big day. We had the pleasure of working with Lauren. She was so organized and made my wedding dreams come true! Highly recommend working with this team and having your wedding at Mankin!
Mankin was the best decision I made surrounding my wedding (other than my hubby)! They were so easy to work with, even during rescheduling everything due to COVID. Everything is taken care of for you, and the planners go above and beyond to make your day perfect. Martin is a fantastic DJ. Gillian was a pleasure to work with and answered all of my questions and gave us great suggestions. SO thankful we decided to have our wedding here.
The minute my (now) husband sent me photos from The Historic Mankin Mansion after we got engaged, I knew we HAD to get married there. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, the staff is super helpful, and our wedding experience was just perfect. They really take care of everything from start to finish so you can truly enjoy your special day. I can't recommend them enough!
Mankin Mansion was the perfect venue for our wedding. Not only are the grounds, buildings, and decor absolutely stunning, but the price of renting the venue also included a wedding planner who helped walk us through the details every step of the way throughout the entire planning process - not just the day-of. They also have some rooms on the premises for up to 16 guests. My husband and I stayed the night along with our wedding party and we are so glad we did. The rooms are beautiful and it was so nice to be able to crash right there after a long day of celebrations! They also provided a breakfast the next morning that was delicious. I couldn't recommend Mankin highly enough - if I could give more stars I would. Shoutout to Leila and all the other staff who helped us execute the perfect day in spite of the changes we made due to COVID-19. You all are the best!
Amazing venue, everything was perfect! Really accommodating with all of COVID stuff and allowed me to move my wedding to another Saturday.

We got married May 2019 and I have left many reviews on multiple sites about how amazing they are. If you want a staff that really cares about your big day and go above and beyond to make sure your day is perfect look no further. Not only is it the most beautiful wedding site in Richmond it is easily the best staff to work with. We had a perfect wedding with no problems. The only minor hiccup was my suit lost a button and Maddy (who is the best employee) found needle and thread for me and got me fixed up on the spot. Trust me you could do worst but you cannot do better then Historic Mankin Mansion
If you are looking for an "all-inclusive" wedding venue, look no further. The Historic Mankin Mansion was amazing and better than we could have ever dreamed for our fall wedding! We actually booked within two weeks of getting engaged because it really did seem like the best value in the Richmond area. I would recommend that you book ASAP if you are interested because the popular dates really do get snatched up quickly. We ended up getting married on the Sunday before Veterans Day and got lucky with a sunny, 65-degree day for our outdoor ceremony. It was perfect!
Things that came in our package: personal coordinator (we love you Lauren!), Aisle Planner program with a full checklist and super easy option to create a seating chart, DJ, covered tent with French chandeliers and cool up lighting, tables, gold chiavari chairs, complimentary accessories (the coordinator literally made all but one of our signs), window frames with ribbon for easy table assignments, cake stand and serving tools, the Bentley getaway car ride, etc. I could keep going because we got so much from our investment at HMM and if you're on a budget like we were, it WILL save you money!
The meetings we had with our coordinator were really well spaced out and helpful, so we were stayed on the same page. She did such a great job and many guests commented on how well our wedding flowed. We loved that HMM allowed us to customize our ceremony so much. Both our dogs (a smaller Maltipoo and a medium-sized Austrailian Cattle Dog) were both in the wedding and we had the latter pet trained to hit a bell that signaled the French doors to open for me to walk through & down the aisle with my dad. It was incredible.
Another hit on our wedding night? Martin as our DJ! He even got my 85-year-old Vietnamese grandmother up and dancing. The way he mixed the music was genius. A bride-to-be at the wedding literally texted me the next morning and said, "The dance floor was LIT. I would love to see your playlist at some point." The best part was we only briefly discussed what genres of music we preferred and offered a few song suggestions, so Martin really did all of the work.
When it got hot and sweaty on the dance floor, our guests had a great space to go outside to cool off. We opted to get fire pits (which HMM made sure to keep lit throughout the evening) and put candles along a wall outside. So it really did look magical.
We also saved money on our open bar because we just got a day-of ABC license and all our alcohol in bulk at Costco (liquor at the store in Washington, DC). We also ended up returning all of the alcohol that wasn't opened, which was like an unexpected bonus.
Lastly, our night ended with a sparkler sendoff and such a fun ride in the Bentley with Paula to our hotel. We could not be more thankful to everyone at HMM who made sure we had the best day!
This venue is amazing! There are so many little nooks to take great pictures and the landscaping is perfect 24/7. The staff is incredible. We met with Martin for our tour and were hooked! Madison, our planner, was amazing and so patient and accommodating during the planning process. We loved using the Aisle Planner tool that they provided to help us stay on track with planning. Amazing team. Amazing service. Amazing venue!
If you are looking for the perfect venue in Richmond, you have found it. Not only is the property "architectural digest" beautiful, we are beyond happy with all the services provided by Historic Mankin Mansion. When you sign up, you are provided with easy to use software that organizes your life while planning. Then they schedule a number of meetings to keep you on track providing deadlines to help you manage an overwhelming process.
We had a TON of out of town guests (50+ hotel rooms) and the fact that they work with Hilton who provides free shuttles to and from the venue was a big sell for us, especially since we had an open bar. Madison, was amazing to work with, she is so sweet and helpful and patient and attentive. On the day of she was EXTREMELY on top of things. I felt completely confident in her and was so happy that she was taking care of everything. The place runs like a well oiled machine.
Martin was our DJ and he did a fabulous job helping us narrow down music (we had way too long of a list lol). He also made excellent suggestions for the ceremony and pre-ceremony that our guests loved. Martin was also who we initially met with on our first visit, it was a rainy cold day in January (and still beautiful there) - he explained that they have 100 complementary umbrellas in case of rain. I mean c'mon, THEY THINK OF EVERYTHING!!
The location is like being in your own world. The gardens on site are exquisitely kept. EVERY SINGLE TIME we visited prior to the wedding there was someone maintaining the grounds. The landscaping and architecture is so picturesque we opted not to decorate the ceremony area because truthfully it didn't need anything other than the flower beds and trees that were already there. On the day of our wedding the property was complete perfection. When the sun went down the lighting throughout the property made everything whimsical and magical.
The Mankin mansion staff is absolutely amazing, my day was perfect and nothing went wrong (that I know of)! Lauren was amazing to work with and the owners Paula and Martin are so sweet. I HIGHLY recommend this venue to get married at, the rain option for the ceremony is absolutely breathtaking as well.
From the very first moment I stepped foot at the Historic Mankin Mansion, I knew it was the perfect wedding venue for me! We booked the full week weekend package and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!! Everything was so perfect and flawless and stress-free because of this venue. From having a wedding coordinator built in to the package (shout out to Lauren!) to providing cottages for up to 16 overnight guests, they really have thought of everything and give you a lot of bang for your buck! At our very first meeting to tour the venue, we were greeted by Martin (one of the owners with his wife Paula) and offered heart shaped cookies and beverages. That alone shows that they go the extra mile to make you feel special and cared for during your time on their property. They do such a great job planning and coordinating with you and your vendors, on the wedding day you pretty much just have to show up and let them run the show! Lauren, Madison, Martin, Paula and the entire team truly made us feel welcome, loved, cared for and completely at ease during the planning phases and the entire wedding weekend. I swear when I needed a straw during the wedding night they found me a straw within 2 seconds! Their level of professionalism and customer service is high quality and our guests couldn’t stop raving about how amazing the venue was! If you’re getting married you should really consider this as a top contender for your special day!!

From the planning, to the DJ, to the day of, Mankin handled all aspects of our July 6th wedding with professionalism and class. The venue is so incredibly beautiful, and wonderfully kept! Our June wedding at Mankin Mansion was nothing short of perfect. We were blessed with a beautiful 80 degree day, which allowed us to truly take advantage of all that the venue has to offer. The grounds were so lush and green, and the flowers were all in bloom. We kept the doors of the tent opened, which encouraged our guests to wander back and forth between the dance floor and the twinkle lights and cocktail tables outside.
Madison and her team made the day run so smoothly. Leading up to the event, she asked thoughtful questions and made sure that we had thought through all of the little details. She successfully wrangled our fun-loving bridal party and ensured that they knew exactly where they needed to be. We appreciated her ability to keep us on schedule but also allow us to enjoy the moment. She also did a great job of coordinating with our vendors and allowing us to focus on our friends and families. Martin, the DJ, kept the dance floor packed all night. He seamlessly incorporated all our off-the-wall requests with songs that were sure to keep the crowd engaged.
As a natural planner, I also appreciated all of the tools and resources that Mankin provided us throughout the planning process. It was helpful to have a website where I could upload/edit information, keep track of the "to-dos" I needed to accomplish and plan my seating arrangements.
All and all, we loved the venue and would highly recommend it to future brides and grooms!
Wow! Everything about this venue was perfect. It is gorgeous, and while we didn’t need it, it was important to me that the rain plan was as stunning as the outdoor ceremony location. It was incredibly helpful to have the planner/day of coordinator included, and the team made everything so easy and seamless in the months leading up to the wedding all the way through the day after. Madison was an absolute delight to work with! She is incredibly knowledgeable and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. Our day was magical and stress free because she took care of everything before we could even think about it. I cannot thank Madison and the team at Mankin Mansion for making everything so smooth and easy for us!
Unfortunately we were unable to make our target dates work out, but this venue was gorgeous! The owners are extremely organized and professional. We were greeted so warmly (and with wine!) and even after we realized we weren’t going to be able to align the dates, Martin offered us additional resources to assist us in our venue search. When we first started looking for a venue in Richmond, we were leaning more toward an urban venue. Nothing we saw was quite right though, so we decided to give Historic Mankin Mansion a try. From the moment we stepped foot on the grounds we just knew it was perfect. First of all, the whole property is just beautiful from start to finish, and there are so many intricate details sprinkled throughout. Then there's the staff. Mankin is worth it just for the coordination alone. They are friendly, experienced, knowledgeable, and so great to work with. You can tell that they eat, sleep, and breathe weddings because they know all the right questions to ask and have truly seen it all. We worked mostly with Katie and Anna, and they orchestrated the whole day beautifully. Seriously, nothing went wrong, not one thing! Anna kept us on track, she made sure everyone knew where to be and when, and was unflappable the whole day. We were planning to get married outside but the day of the rehearsal it was calling for rain, so we practiced inside. Then the day of the wedding it was sunny, so she gathered the whole party for a run-through so we could have the outdoor ceremony we wanted and it went perfectly. We also loved how inclusive Mankin's package is: you get the grounds, tables, chairs, DJ and the coordination in one flat rate.
We had the perfect day, our guests had a blast, and we really do owe it all to the team at Mankin.
Historic Mankin Mansion is the whole package. In addition to being the most stunning property I’ve ever witnessed, their team is knowledgable, experienced, and always ready to help a bride in need. Booking with HMM was truly the best decision we made in our whole wedding planning process. We not only got access to all of the beautiful grounds, but we were provided with a planner, DJ, and table and chair rentals included. (This is among all of the additional add-ons for upgrades—we did the fire pits, which were awesome!)
I know the HMM team deals with multiple weddings at one time and even multiple per weekend, but my now-husband and I always felt like VIPs from our very first meeting. There’s nothing like being greeted with a glass of red wine to plan a wedding after a long day at work!
The wedding day itself went off without a hitch as far as I know. If something didn’t go as planned, I was and am blissfully unaware because everything ran so smoothly. The staff was extremely accommodating to our crazy family of Western New Yorkers and Salvadorans, and I’ve heard from multiple guests (both in English and Spanish!) that they felt like they were at home during our wedding. Kudos to the Mankin team (we worked with Katie and she was AMAZING!) and especially to Paula and Martin Ramirez—they have done a magnificent job with the property and their commitment to excellence is evident in everything that they do.
My husband and I are so grateful for all of the hard work that went into our wedding, and we feel as if we are a part of the HMM family. Thank you for all that you’ve done for us—we are so very appreciative of it!
It was a perfect day at the Mankin Mansion, made even more so by the supporting staff who made the day go by without a hitch. They include a DJ and Planner into the total price, and Katie our planner was amazing! She made our day seamless and stress-free. On the DJ side, we didn't have a lot of desire to manage all the music and communicating this with him and he was able to put together a list of music that got everyone off their seats. The staff here is great and the value is tremendous for what you get.
When making the decision for the Mankin Mansion, my wife couldn't take the initial tour and view the venue, leaving it all on me to select the perfect venue. Mankin encompassed everything we wanted at a reasonable price for us. There is an extraordinary amount of charm bundled into this place. Our guests loved this place and we will always remember this amazing day. If you are on the fence, look no further, stop by and talk to the staff and experience the venue that is the Historic Mankin Mansion. It is Richmond charm at it's finest. You'll love it just as much as we did for our wedding 7/30/17.
The team and space at the mankin mansion are top notch. This venue is a hidden gem! Katie & Anna were soo helpful throughout the process, very responsive, flexible, and very accommodating. Our guests could not stop raving about how awesome the venue was. With all the different architecture, pristine landscaping, and lighting/decor there is no shortage of wow factor here. We had planned to have our ceremony outside but due to chilly temperature we moved inside and we couldn't have been happier with the beautiful second site.
My husband and I got married at Historic Mankin Mansion this past April and it was hands down the best day of our lives. Everything was so wonderful with the help of the Mankin Mansion staff and our planner which was provided through the venue, Katie. We had several meetings with Katie before the big day and she did a great job of communicating with me when I had questions in a timely manner. She also did a great job communicating with my other vendors and confirming all of the details so I didn't have to worry about it. Because of the Mankin Mansion staff, I truly had nothing to worry about on my wedding day other then focusing on having the best day with friends, family, and of course my husband. Our whole wedding party and immediate family also stayed at the mansion the night of our wedding and I am so glad we made the decision to do so. All of the accommodations were fabulous and I have heard so many positive comments from our wedding party. We also had breakfast at the mansion the next morning and it was delicious and a great way to end our experience. This is such a lovely venue with really great staff- I would not change a thing if I could do it all over again. Highly, highly recommended!
Mankin Mansion did an amazing job with the whole wedding process. From the planning and working out the little questions, through the day of coordination. The care taken in every step was all we could have asked for. We were so happy with how the day turned out and how we never had any stress or qualms with Mankin Mansion. The staff was always professional and made our day feel like it was everything it was supposed to be. We stayed at Historic Mankin Mansion from Friday through Sunday and it made the whole weekend stress free (not to mention the massages). The man cave was perfect for the groomsmen in the hours leading up to the ceremony and the rooms where the whole bridal party stayed the weekend were beautiful. We used Mankin's preferred vendors and it made it that much easier, using someone that they have a relationship with immensely lessened the questions that came our way. Guests cannot stop raving about how beautiful the grounds were and how much fun they had. We wish we could do it all over again with Mankin Mansion.
We had our ceremony and reception at the Historic Mankin Mansion and loved how everything turned out! We picked this venue for many reasons including a top notch DJ, a beautiful setting that didn't need a ton of decorations/embellishments, separate space options for the ceremony and reception, an included day-of coordinator, an experienced event team, and a TON of included rentals (like chairs, tables, A/V, tent, dance floor, etc). The price originally made us hesitate, but by the time we factored in all the things that were included, we realized it was a great choice! We met with our planner, Katie, a couple times leading up to the wedding and she helped us stay on track with wedding "to-dos". The most beneficial meeting was the final walk through the week of the wedding - you bring all your decor and that way you can totally unload all your mental notes about where you want things, how you want things displayed, etc. You also sit down and talk through every detail of the rehearsal and wedding day. For us, that meeting was Tuesday before our Saturday wedding and helped me let go of a lot of wedding stress knowing Katie was now handling all that. Katie also did a great job the day of. She kept our timeline on track without making the day feel rushed or strained, which I'm sure is a hard job! Our DJ, Martin, was phenomenal. He read the crowd perfectly and everyone keeps raving about how awesome the music was. We had a packed dance floor all night! I would absolutely recommend having your wedding at the Historic Mankin Mansion. Planning a wedding is a wonderful, but unbelievably stressful process. Knowing that we could lean on their tried and true expertise and knowing that they wouldn't let us miss something, was a huge asset.

Our day was so organized from the beginning with several planning meetings, a day-of timeline, to down to the minute organization by Katie and the staff of Mankin Mansion. I don't even have to mention how BEAUTIFUL the venue is and made our wedding just perfect. We had the wonderful DJ Martin who helped our guests have a great time on the dance floor. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing and Mankin Mansion made our wedding day perfect!

It's unique and just breathtaking during the day and into the night with lots lightning. The service is exceptional. I was able to just show up on my wedding day and everything was perfect.
It was love after first sight on our first visit to Mankin! Once we made the decision to get married there, it was as though everything began to fall in place. Having Kate as our fabulous coordinator, was priceless. She offered full support including quick turnaround on emails, recommendation on vendors, and ensuring that my husband and I had every T crossed and I dotted. When I first visited Mankin Mansion, I was blown away at how gorgeous the grounds were. I could not stop thinking about the venue, so I knew that was the location for us. Every time I visited the site, I saw a new feature. There are so many places to take pictures with all the unique details. When I began the planning process, the venue include a wedding planner to assist with all our needs. Kate was amazing and quickly responded to all my emails. The day of could not have gone more perfect. I highly recommend Mankin mansion! It truly is the most perfect venue and has the best staff!
