I should have known from the very beginning when we couldn’t even get ahold of the venue for a tour that they were going to be awful to work with. But, we were in a time crunch and running out of options that were available for our date.
After the tour, everything seemed great. They talked about how they provided a wedding planner who would do everything, they were going to waive certain fees like having outside catering because of how soon the wedding was, etc. Everything sounded great. The planner was quick to reach out, but after that first phone call, nothing happened, even though they are supposed to set up all your vendors, decor, everything. So, I ended up having to plan an entire wedding on my own, unlike the full service packages that are advertised on their website.
I had vendors calling and texting me even the day of the wedding asking questions because the planner had still not reached out or they couldn’t get ahold of them. Not to mention, I was approached by the owner asking for $1500 more, over what we were supposed to pay as listed on our contract. Very unprofessional. Thank goodness our day still ended up being gorgeous because of having an event planner in our wedding party who wasn’t afraid to step in and get things done. Otherwise it would have been a disaster. I could go on but won’t. Save yourself the time and headache and don’t book this place for a wedding.
The grounds at Maple Grove made for the most beautiful wedding backdrop! Since our wedding was in early October the greenery was still alive and made for beautiful photo's. Tim (the owner) was very responsive any time I contacted him.
Had my wedding at Maple grove in September. The venue is beautiful but the staff is just awful. The day of my wedding was a nightmare. Everything went wrong. Last minute additional charges, equipment malfunction, not enough chairs, and changing the time the reception was over. What made it worst is the manager was no where in sight, did not respond to my coordinator emails, phone calls, or text. I left home in tears. I watched my big day turned into a nightmare. I felt taken advantage of and my dream wedding was certainly ruined. So be aware beautiful venue not so beautiful experience. Lack of understanding, communication, and overall awful service for such an important day. I regret booking them for my big day sincerely.
Our wedding was perfect at Maple Grove Farm. The outdoor ceremony, the cocktail hour in front of the fountain, and reception in the barn....everything was beautiful. The planner made sure everything was just like I wanted. They help you the whole time to pick out linens and centerpieces. I couldn't have asked for a better venue.
We picked this venue for several reasons. The grounds and facilities are beautiful. We had our ceremony and reception at the same place. We had indoor options in case of rain. We picked a package that included the Baker, caterer, rentals, and coordinator. At the end of the day it was a beautiful wedding.
Everyone at my wedding told me that my wedding was the BEST they had ever been too! The venue is beautiful! Tim was great at being there when I needed him, answering all of my questions, and is a super sweet guy. For my total cost I got: white ceremony+reception chairs, all tables, the ceremony spot, reception venue, use of the lot for photos and decorating, bartender, and use of my OWN caterer. He is very flexible and will help you come up with whatever you need! Compared to the other places in the Memphis area, this is your best bet. The price is great, the people are awesome, and it's very inclusive!
The grounds and the reception barn were absolutely gorgeous. But my overall experience was pretty bad because of the owner. Leading up to my event he became more and more difficult to get a hold of and would not do anything more then just holding the event on the property. For example, there was an ipod hookup at the ceremony site (out by a pond) and he refused to even have one of his workers push play on the ipod. My brother-in-law was going to have to miss enjoying the wedding in order to run the music. It ended up raining and we had to move the ceremony indoors. Thank goodness because the owner was MIA (he didn't even answer his cell phone when his employees were calling) and the ipod cord was no where around. If it would not have rained we would not have had music for our ceremony. This was only one example of my disappointment in the owner.
We had many problems working with Maple Grove from the beginning, they double booked us, only allowed us so much time, and were just difficult to work with. But in the end I'm still glad we had it there because it was absolutely beautiful!
