Having our wedding at Maple Shade was the BEST wedding related decision we made. My husband and I looked at several venues before finding Maple Shade. When we saw everything that M...
aple Shade had to offer, we were sold. Some of our favorite things were…
1. The unique space(s) — We LOVE the two tier barn, the patio outside the lower level, the beautiful ceremony space near the stone wall, the pond and all the way around it, all of the beautifully and thoughtfully decorated nooks and crannies throughout the lower level of the barn. The venue truly offered so many wonderful spaces. There are so many fun games— including foosball and pop a shot, a wonderful Photo Booth, lawn games, nooks that offer a little privacy, and the most perfect dance floor. (Having a dance floor near big open barn doors so you don’t overheat? Genius!)
2. The one stop shop services. During wedding planning, my husband and I were intimidated by the amount of work we were gong to have to take on. Decorating a venue space just wasn’t something that we were interested in doing (on top of EVERYTHING else!). Not only did Jay & Abby add custom touches, they took care of flowers, made sure everything was set perfectly, designed a beautiful table that shared our love story, and made sure everything was perfectly executed. The amazing Jay and Abby are pros. Trust their process. They know what they’re doing. Give feedback and don’t be afraid to call, they’re receptive.
3. Flexibility with vendors. Of course, Jay and Abby have a list of vendors that they love working with and who love working with them. That said— one other thing that sold us on this venue was that we could bring in pretty much anyone. We were able to buy our own alcohol which was huge on the cost savings (and we’re still enjoying some, 6 months later!). (We also could have brought in our own caterer, but we ended up going with Mark Salerno (a Maple Shade preferred vendor) who was exceptional.
4. Jay and Abby - Maple Shade isn’t something they clock into from 9-5, it’s their home. Jay and Abby are so central to the Delhi area. When you choose to support this wedding venue, your money is going towards supporting this wonderful local economy. For example, we had some left over wedding cake the day after our wedding which we weren’t particularly inclined to take back with up. Jay and Abby knew just who to donate all of the leftovers to. Everything Abby and Jay do they do with love, care, and integrity; supporting people who operate that way, just can’t be beat.
Overall,MY HUSBAND AND I HAD THE WEDDING OF OUR DREAMS AT MAPLE SHADE!!!!!!! We got incredibly lucky with the weather too which was amazing, but truly believe you just can’t beat this wedding venue— the Abby and Jay team, the gorgeous setting, the options for customization, and truly reasonably costs. Hands down we would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone!
My wife and I are beyond blessed to have chosen Maple Shade Farm for our wedding venue!
First of all, the location. Perfectly tucked away in the western Catskills, we fell in love...
as soon as we saw it. A beautiful rustic barn: upgraded, with all of the original charm. The stone walls of the orchard and beautiful pond. The sweeping meadow and picturesque hills rising up in the distance. Your photographer will be thanking you for picking such a great spot to capture your special day!
What really made Maple Shade stand out to us was how much was included. The barn has: a dining hall, dance floor, outdoor patio area, game room, full bar area, numerous seating areas, cozy corners and nooks to set up dessert, décor and favors. We thought it was so cool to have all those extra spaces, so your guests can have their pick of being closer to action on dance floor or grabbing a quieter corner to catch up on conversations. We booked Maple Shade for the entire weekend, holding a Friday Rehearsal Dinner as well as a Sunday Brunch the day after. It was an amazing deal, and most shocking, the cheapest venue that we looked at.
Second, the wonderful people that run Maple Shade: Abby and Jay Wilson. They were so kind, helpful and hardworking to make sure everything went perfect on our special day. Whether it was coordinating with the DJ and caterers, or guiding guests around the property, they did it all! Their professionalism and years of experience shone through, and they patiently answered all of our many, many questions to put our minds at ease. We loved how it was a family affair, with Abby and Jay and their kids all pitching in to help. They were so accommodating with whatever we needed: seating arrangements, picking of wedding arches, bus transportation, etc.
For us, we knew that wedding guests might not remember the table centerpieces. They might not remember the invitations or favors. But they will not forget the experience of Maple Shade Farm. Coming from New Jersey and NYC, Maple Shade was for many their first taste of the Catskills. And it did not disappoint, with many family and friends still telling us it was the best wedding they ever went to!
10/10 would recommend to anyone!!!
Yes! CHOOSE THIS VENUE!! You’ve found the right place!
We are finally getting around to posting our review about the most perfect wedding venue we could have imagined!
We saw Map...
le Shade November ‘22 when we were ‘shopping’ for a wedding venue; choosing it was a no brainer. The barn itself is unique and different than any others we have seen and it comes with everything. Dining area upstairs, separate from the cocktail hour, dancing, downstairs bar, lounge area, game room (this place has it all!). Long farm tables are gorgeous within themselves and need minimal decorations. And with the venue having SO MUCH on site, there was no need for us to order and prepare any other decor items like we would have needed at some of the ‘Blank Canvas’ barns we initially considered. The barn sits on acres and acres of land, giving you the option of where to have your ceremony, we chose right in front of the pond where our wedding party had a grand entrance from the large barn doors. MAGICAL!
Enough about the venue, although we hope this paints an accurate picture! Everything you could need is there!!
More importantly, Jay and Abby Wilson (owners of Maple Shade) are absolute rockstars. From our first visit and follow up phone call, we knew working together would be a breeze. They were helpful in our initial planning stages, helping us plan different details, offering extremely helpful advice. Wedding day they were like conductors of an orchestra, making sure everyone and everything were in place and running according to plan. It was PERFECT!
And when uncontrollable things don’t go to plan, they had us covered!
On our wedding day in late July, there was a high percentage of rain expected only during the time of our ceremony; Jay and Abby made the call that morning to put up a tent and made all the adjustments needed without causing bride and groom any extra stress… THANK GOD they did - it literally monsooned during the ceremony, like nothing we've seen before at an outdoor wedding! (Just a fluke storm rolling though).
They reminded us that as a bride and groom getting married at their venue, they make the same decisions for us and our guests that they would make for their own children. They are kind and caring and so fun, and certainly know how to run a wedding venue. We respected, trusted and appreciated all their knowledge and hard work. It’s definitely not their first rodeo!
As we will continue to call this day "the best day ever," we are very grateful to Jay and Abby for all of their help, attention to detail, and their ability to see and understand our vision for the most perfect wedding we could have imagined.
Ps- they made a few recommendations for supplementary vendors (catering, DJ, bartenders) and all their recommendations were also HOME RUNS! It was such a smooth operation.
This is the perfect place. It is beautiful inside and out. Amy is a master with decor and Jay gets done what needs to get done. I heard no issues during the whole night. Jay went a...
nd picked up extra soda because we were running out. Drizzling day and inside it out was a moment to moment decision. Jay and I talked, said let’s do this, and we were in for outside between showers. You just can’t find that anyplace else. My 88 year young mom told me that Amy knew what she needed before she even knew she needed it. And from her that is the highest of all compliments. Every single aspect of the experience was better than I could have expected.
(We did not use maple shade as a venue for our event, however..)
My new fiancé and I visited Maple Shade Farm today, as a possible wedding venue for 2024. And although we decided ...
not to hire, we absolutely loved being able to visit this venue.
My partner and I are looking for a November 2024 wedding date. Maple Shade closes its venue after September (rightfully so, it gets pretty cold here in NY!) however, if we were having a summer wedding we would have absolutely booked with them!
The husband-owner Jay, who we met with today, is hands down one of the nicest people we've ever met! Jay took us for a tour around the venue, gave us a lot of great information about the site, and we could tell that Jay not only loves his business/job but that he truly puts so much care into it, too. Jay was very upfront that Maple Shade is all about the Couple, what they're looking for, and that they go above and beyond to make sure that happens. Jay told us "your like our kids for that day!!" Which was one of the sweetest things my fiancé and I have heard! Jay gave off such a warm, friendly, welcoming vibe. We did not get to meet his other half today, his wife, however how she speaks of her was adorable. You can tell they Both love what they do! He really gives you hope that amazing people truly do work in the wedding business!
Outside of Jay, this venue was just
... spectacular. This was 100% your "hometown humble barn" type feel. Very welcoming, cozy, and friendly, with a lot of really special little nooks to sit, relax, and unwind. We truly, truly loved this special little gem of a venue!
There wasn't a single thing we would have changed about this venue, were sad to be missing out on Maple Shade, but we have no doubt this place is perfect. The pictures do not do justice to how just truly very very special this venue is! It was really such a wonderful place to see with our own eyes!
The decor & all the little antique things that this venue provides is just seriously out of this world! We loved the old vibe it gave and how honestly it was basically already decorated in the perfect rustic barn vibe! They really have gone above and beyond with the decor and setting the "rustic, barn, farm" wedding vibe. We just absolutely loved it!
Thank you again, Jay, for showing us around! It is something we will keep in our hearts! And we hope all the best for all the future couples to come!
Our wedding at Maple Shade truly was a dream come true. The owners, Jay and Abby, were an absolute joy to work with and made our wedding vision come to life in a way that far excee...
ded our expectations. They made sure that every need and concern was taken care of, even made sure our elderly guests could get around the venue comfortably and safely! We’re beyond grateful for them and this incredible venue!
We had looked at a few other venues before we stumbled upon Maple Shade Farm. As soon as we got there we knew this was the venue for us! Jay and Abby made sure our wedding day was ...
above and beyond our expectations. All of our guests were in awe with the venue, from the authentic barn, the amazing flowers, to the vintage decor. This is definitely a one of a kind venue!
Jay and Abby were so helpful with planning and execution, and made the process much easier with their knowledge/expertise. They are both so friendly and never hesitated to help us ...
or answer questions along the way. The venue is a beautiful setting, and we still receive compliments from guests!

f us feel comfortable , the food was really good and served right on time with a well coached wait staff! We never felt nervous because the owners were so prepared and knowledgeable! Great venue!
We first came to visit Maple Shade Farm in the off season. Though the barn and grounds were covered in snow, the property and Jay and Abby radiated warmth and we knew instantly tha...
t this was going to be our wedding venue.
Over the next 15 months we were in regular communication with Jay and Abby and they were always available for a quick chat and to talk us through any questions we had. A wedding is a funny thing in that you're only supposed to do it once so you have to rely on people with experience to help you through it and for us that was Jay and Abby.
The price was very reasonable and having access to their wonderful recommended vendors was truly the icing on the cake. From transportation to catering to bar services they offer access to a truly crack team who are not only experts in their dedicated field but friendly and flexible to boot.
From our gorgeous ceremony underneath a custom arbor and surrounded by Abby's beautiful flowers to our delicious plated dinner to our absolutely rocking party (late night hours at no additional cost is such an amazing perk!) our wedding at Maple Shade truly fulfilled the idea that your wedding day should be the best day of your life!
Jay and Abby helped us customize everything down to the smallest detail, even going so far as to set up a lovely tribute table to our cats. We are both fantasy nerds and so all along we asked Abby to help us decorate with an eye toward the whimsical stories we love so much and they executed it to a T. Our wedding at Maple Shade was truly a Fairytale!
Our wedding was everything we could have hoped for and more because of Maple Shade Farm!! The owners, Jay and Abby, are also the day of coordinators and have hearts of GOLD! They t...
ruly treated us like family from the second we met them. They did everything in their power to make sure our day was exactly how we wanted it, from the ceremony location, to florals, to personalizing the decor to make it feel like us. Even when we did have a couple hiccups due to timing issues, Jay and Abby made quick adjustments to keep our guests happy. They are down to earth, flexible, understanding, and they're always adding improvements to make the barn even more fantastic.
So many of our guests have told us how much FUN they had the venue! Our ceremony was outside, dinner was in the upstairs part of the barn and the reception was in the bottom. Having everything all at one location but also having a few changes of scenery helped keep things interesting and new for our guests. If you're worried about elderly friends/family and the maneuverability of the barn, don't worry -- Jay can personally escort them in a golf cart around the property (and even inside the barn)! Throughout the night we saw guests playing lawn games, hanging out by the s'mores pit, dancing, and catching up with friends on one of the many amazing sitting areas they have in the barn. We wanted our wedding to have something for everyone, and Maple Shade was the perfect place for it.
I can't say enough good things about Maple Shade. And honestly the photos do NOT do this place justice! If you have any incline to book this venue, please go see it in person and experience it for yourself!
Our son and daughter-in-law were married at Maple Shade Farm in June 2022 and we could not have been happier with how well everything went.
Maple Shade Farm is an incredibly beaut...
iful, comfortable and spacious wedding venue. We had three separate settings for our wedding and reception. The wedding ceremony took place in a shaded courtyard in front of the barn. The dinner was served on the upper floor of the barn. The wedding reception took place on the bottom floor of the barn and on the patio and lawns behind the barn. During the reception, there was a huge amount of outdoor space where guests could go to recreate or escape. In the afternoon, our guests played cornhole, bocce and Jenga. During the evening, some watched the sunset over the pond and some sat by the campfire. In the middle of the reception, when the band was playing, the bottom floor of the barn was large enough that there were many comfortable nooks and crannies far enough from the band where people could sit and chat easily. And, there was plenty of room for people to dance. At some weddings, you might get trapped at an assigned seat, but, at Maple Shade, throughout the afternoon and evening, you can enjoy a wide variety of beautiful spaces. Many of our guests told us that, at our reception, the open setting made it much easier for them to meet and to talk with other guests.
Jay and Abby helped us choose and coordinate all of the different services needed for the wedding. They went above and beyond in helping us find, negotiate and communicate with all of the services we needed for the wedding—catering, bartending, baking, etc. All the vendors they recommended provided exceptional service.
Abby did an amazing job on the flowers and on the decorations. She also added many individual touches to reflect the couple that was being married that day. We had been to Maple Shade for other events, and it is always an impressive space, but the barn really gets transformed for a wedding.
During the event, Jay and Abby were extremely present and were always ready to help with any questions or concerns or needs.
After the wedding, we heard nothing but praise for the venue from our guests who had come from all over the country. Actually, there was also some jealousy that we had access to such a great wedding venue so close to home.
Maple Shade provides a broad, varied and beautiful setting for a wedding. Jay and Abby are extremely resourceful and flexible, and they helped us create a wedding that was unique, moving, fun and memorable.

venue was. Abby and Jay know how to coordinate and execute a wedding that every guest and couple won't forget. They were so helpful and understanding when the pandemic made us postpone a year. While it does take a lot of coordination and moving pieces - they will help you through each step if you need it. Once the wedding weekend hit, they made sure all the stress was gone and magical feeling of the wedding weekend was always present. When we arrived to drop off all our goodies on Thursday afternoon from when we picked them up on Sunday afternoon - we felt like we had been friends with them for years. Take a visit to see them and experience the all the feels for yourself - words truly can't express how cool of a place it is!

Abby and Jay Wilson are visionaries and can make your wedding day dreams come true! No request seems to big and they add without mention the smallest, appropriate details that you didn't even know you wanted or needed (ask my husband about his Scotch Bar set up by Mr Wilson, thank you Jay)!
There is a wonderful connection when you start your MSF journey, you are convinced the farm is YOURS and it is truly a pleasure to work with both Jay and Abby to make it so. They integrate themselves into the experience from start to finish; setting dates, suggestions as to vendors to use, flowers, decorations, grounds, table layout, trinkets and antiques to utilize, outdoor games, the pond, fire pit, the spectacular photo ops, space for relaxation, the dancing, the dining areas, the views, all culminate in the perfect wedding day, and as importantly the evening!
We highly recommend Maple Shade Farms for those who are looking for a truly customized, unique experience, all while be surrounding by the beautiful Catskill Mountains, gorgeous all year round.
Maple Shade Farm (MSF) was the first and only venue we visited when searching for our perfect location to say “I Do”. It did not take long from the moment we pulled onto property, ...
where the beautiful historic barn nestled in the Catskills lives, to realize our search was over. Although we toured MSF in the middle of winter, we could instantly picture our fall fairytale wedding. The heart of this beautiful venue is Jay and Abby; they are truly the definition of a dynamic duo. Despite the numerous texts, calls, and emails Jay and Abby were always there to provide reassurance, offer ideas/suggestions, and never made us feel like a bother. Jay and Abby made our vision come to life and far exceeded our expectations. Our guests were in awe and left speechless with the beauty of the day. MSF will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

n we pulled up that this was the place. Maple Shade is a perfect barn setting with beautiful views, making all of our rustic dreams come true. Jay and Abby were a pleasure to work with right from the start and helped our vision come to life. When issues arose with our caterer, Jay and Abby quickly stepped into action and helped in any way that they possibly could. Without them, our day wouldn't have been what it was. We highly recommend Maple Shade Farm to anyone looking for a barn venue as it has everything that you could want, including fireworks, sparklers, florals, and more!

with vintage items (the typewriter is my favorite!) and the grounds are a photographer’s dream (there are even chickens who like to be a part of first looks). I can’t wait to shoot another wedding at the Farm, and see what other fun finds Abigail surprises us with!

y special people who are amazing at what they do. We were supposed to get married June 2019 and it was effortlessly rescheduled for the following year without any difficulty or stress. Every step of the way Jay and Abby had our backs and offered real solutions. When our DJ fell through, within minutes they booked another one for us. When the welcome BBQ location fell through, without a thought they offered their property. Guests are still talking about the beautiful the location/property was and all the fun they had at our wedding. We feel very grateful to have found Maple Shade Farm and Jay and Abby. We will look back at our wedding weekend with nothing but joy and gratitude. We couldn't recommend Maple Shade enough.

in with the pandemic that hit us right after we secured all our vendors.
Jay and Abby were the perfect people to help us through all our wedding planning and anxieties throughout the months leading up to it. They were realistic, but had a 'can-do' attitude that really helped us through the planning process while keeping the event covid friendly. If it weren't for their connections and resourcefulness, we would have had to postpone our wedding day. They helped spearhead last minute tenting, heating, and finding new servers since our original caterer could no longer commit to staffing the wedding. Jay and Abby went absolutely above and beyond expectations.
We loved Maple Shade Farm from the moment we stepped foot into the barn and saw the large plot of land they had. The outdoor space allowed us to set up a tent for outdoor dining with social distancing. We were able to have our cocktail hour outside, and with beautiful views that our guests were able to enjoy.
Maple Shade Farm is far more than just a wedding venue. With it, we had Jay and Abby who were able to provide us wedding planning, florals, rustic tables and chairs, antique decorations, day of coordination, and complete peace of mind. They set everything up on the day of including all decorations. All we had to do was drop off any personal touches such as personal photos and party favors. We trusted them whole heartedly with our day and they surpassed all expectations.
Maple Shade Farm hosts the Taste of the Catskills annually, and we cannot wait to come and start a tradition of coming back to the farm!

opportunities (plus being the above and beyond kind of guy Jay is, he personally took the bride and groom and photographers to all of the hard to reach but best spots for pictures). The barn itself is appointed creatively and cohesively, unique vignettes throughout, all curated thoughtfully with vintage curiosities, lighting fixtures, and furniture. Items that we could have spend big money and time to rent (like bars, furniture, vintage props, dessert stands), were included… and because all of these items were selected or constructed by Jay and Abby, they matched the wedding day aesthetic perfectly. Abby also created all of the floral elements for the wedding including bouquets, boutonnieres, ceremony floral, cocktail arrangements, and beautiful, ethereal tablescapes for guest dining tables incorporating elements unique to the bride and groom, so the space felt customized and personalized to them. During the planning process, Jay & Abby had a solution or a suggestion for everything… they are very connected to the wonderful local communities of Oneonta/Delhi and were so helpful in recommending fantastic local vendors… they even helped arrange a late night pizza delivery and a surprise fireworks show! Abby and Jay have a passion for taking exceptional care of their couples, their guests AND their vendors (THANK YOU!) and go to great lengths to make sure every client experiences the best of Maple Shade Farm in a way that is perfect for them. Thank you, Jay and Abby, for making me feel so welcome and for taking such great care of our bride and groom.

y and Abby Wilson (owners) to our first site visit, we knew this place was special. Jay and Abby do so much more than just host your special event. They can help plan, decorate, organize and make sure your day/weekend is the most amazing. Plus by the end of your wedding you will feel like Jay and Abby are family. Abby did our flowers and decorations and made my wife’s Pinterest dreams come true! They are so accommodating and help to make the wedding planning stress, not stressful at all. So much can be done on this property, to a simple wedding or to the most extravagant event ever. We had fire works, a chef from NYC caterer, DJ, band, dessert table, espresso station, gelato station, after party pizza, full bar and the best setting ever. My wife and I are still getting calls from friends and family about how much of a great time everyone had. It was truly unforgettable and we look forward to book other events here so we can celebrate and relive our special day!

he pond, had cocktail hour outside near the barn, dinner in the barn followed by dancing, desserts, and drinking! To quote one of my relatives visiting Canada, "Are all American weddings this much fun?!" The attention to detail that Jay and Abby put into our day was outstanding. They gave us a great resource document with options for various vendors and accommodations in the area. Jay helped us with all of the logistics, coordinating caterer, photographer, band, etc. Abby went above and beyond with our flowers, decorations, styling, and overall just bringing our vision to life. (some of this was additional services we opted to pay for-- but totally worth it!) We pretty much gave them an idea of what we wanted, things we like, some pinterest board inspiration and then handed them the reigns and we were blown away by what we got in return. Jay and Abby just want to have fun, make sure you have fun and get the wedding of your dreams. They are passionate about they do and that clearly comes through.

they do and are so easy and FUN to work with. Abby was beyond perfect with flower arrangements and went above and beyond with decorating, and Jay took all the stress away from dealing with venders & rentals. Our family was hesitant about that “Farm Wedding” idea…. but everyone was stunned when they saw how classy/rustic the farm was set up and how laid back but organized it was! We even had a whisky & cigar bar set up. How cool is that?! I can go on and on, but in a nut shell...highly recommend this venue, and we wouldn’t take back a thing. Thank you Jay and Abby for such a memorable year!!
Maple Shade Farm was the perfect setting for our wedding. The combination of the rustic old barn, scenic backdrop, and new features that had been recently added (like a nice deck) ...
made for an amazing wedding. Most importantly, the owners (Jay and Abby) were an absolute pleasure to work with. They made the entire process from when we first booked 2 year prior, through the wedding day absolutely smooth and stress free for my wife and I. They know how their property flows and what may work best, but they also ensured that our vision became reality. Abby was masterful with her eye for the decorations. The result was an epic wedding, which many guests have reported back as the most fun they have ever had at a wedding and the location seemed universally loved as well. I highly recommend Maple Shade Farm for any out there who are in the market for a great venue.
Jay and Abby are absolutely phenomenal. From recommending an awesome team to the fine details they do it all. We had a hiccup with catering a couple months before the wedding and t...
hey helped to get a new caterer and put your mind at ease about everything. Abby did an amazing job with floral arrangements and decorations and Jay was very accommodating to our scheduling needs. The venue itself is spectacular from the views to the way the event flows. I could not have asked for a better venue and couple to make our day perfect. They know what they are doing and make the day yours, no cookie cutters here.
We worked with Abby at Maple Shade Farm for our decor and we absolutely LOVE what she put together. We did a Victorian-inspired garden party theme and Abby immediately understood o...
ur vision and was able to select the most beautiful pieces to create a totally unique look. Vanessa and Floyd worked on the set-up and they were so lovely to work with. Vanessa knew just what to do, and together they magically turned our park venue into a scene from "Downton Abbey". Our guests are still complimenting us on how beautiful everything looked! I remember looking around that day and thinking it looked like we stepped back in time, and that is in great part due to the beautiful decor and all of the special little touches from Maple Shade Farm. Thank you!!
Maple Shade is a very special place. Stunning views, a unique venue and a team of people that will bring all of your wedding fantasies to life. The venue is surrounded by sweeping ...
hills with a pond in the back, offering so much in terms of visual beauty. We can go on and on about the venue itself, but we really want to focus on the people. Specifically, Jay and Abbey—the owners of Maple Shade. First, both Jay and Abbey are absolute pros—we cannot emphasize this enough. Every single detail of our wedding was carefully thought through and crafted by this incredible duo. Trust them! The process for bringing this to life could not have been more seamless. We chatted with Abbey a handful of times leading up to the wedding to give her a sense of what we were looking for and she shared back ideas on how to make it uniquely ours. Abbey delivered on everything we asked (even a balloon wall for our photo backdrop!). On the day of the wedding, Jay and Abbey are like wizards orchestrating everything behind the scenes. They have their eye on everyone—from guests’ needs to catering staff and band. If ever anything popped up, Jay and Abbey were on it. Beyond all of this, they are just simply wonderful people. For Jay and Abbey, our wedding day was not simply transactional. They were truly invested and put so much love and care into every single detail to make absolute sure it was everything we wanted. They poured themselves into our day, and they didn’t have to. These two wonderful people go above and beyond because they care. Our wedding meant something to them, and you cannot put a price on that. At the end of our reception, when the last buses headed out, we shared one last drink and dance with Jay and Abbey, followed by a 4-person bear hug and a few tears. There’s no one these two. I hope you have the pleasure of experiencing this kind of love and care from your wedding team. And you will if you choose this magical place.
What can we say? If we could give more than 5 stars, we would.
Of all the moving parts that go into making a wedding happen, securing the location was not just the most important...
decision, but also the first of many (which we found out). We shopped around over several months before deciding on Maple Shade. Struck with the beauty of the farm and the friendliness of Jay and Abby, we it was a no-brainer. When you drive up the side of the farm (If you haven't yet been), toward the top, the surrounding mountains just hit you. We basically decided on Maple Shade right then and there.
Once we set our date, we worked with Abby and Jay to get all of the details in order, of which there were many. To their credit, and with our gratitude, they were instrumental in helping make the day the best we could ever imagine. Everything from working with our DJ to make the music, ceremony, and speeches perfect, to Abby preparing the perfect flowers, to even helping make us 200 little jars of jam as a parting gift for our guests. We even had quite a few kids at our wedding. Solution? They basically set up a kid carnival on the property with a couple babysitters. And it worked wonderfully.
So to that, and with much love and appreciation, we highly recommend Maple Shade Farm!
Jay and Abbey are wonderful! Maple shade farms is wonderful! This is truly a unique venue. I promise you our guests are sincere when they say this was the best wedding ever or top ...
5 and it did not cost a fortune. The barn, upstairs and down, the grounds and tent, the pond and mountains in the background! It's real, it's picturesque, it is perfect. Also, use their suggested vendors (especially Elena) everyone was amazing. They also made it so easy to plan. On Sunday we cried - not cause it was over - were so happy to have it behind us with the stress and because it went perfect - but because it was sad to not have reason to work with them! Please go up and see it and u will know what we are saying!
I could go on and on about this place but I will be concise:
We had a Friday night party and the wedding there. Both were perfect. The grounds are amazing, the barn amazing - down...
stairs for the party and upstairs for dinner. You can't imagine what jay and abbey make it look like - the little and not so little touches!
Jay and Abbey are amazing to work with. They are so friendly, so genuine and they know what hey are doing. Use their vendor selections too - multiple options - go Elena on the catering! The only issue we had was a small one with the buses and surprise, we did not use their suggestions because I waited too long! We also held the after party there until about 130. So much fun!
I promise you that when our guests say this was the best wedding ever or this is a top 5 wedding, they are sincere. And it was relatively - jay and Abbey did so much of the work. Go see this place, meet them and you will know. Oh and listen to their suggestions!
Our wedding at Maple Shade Farm was everything we could have hoped it would be. I can't say enough about Jay and Abby. They're a force; not only did they ensure that all aspects of...
our wedding go smoothly, but their down-to-earth, calming personalities made us feel completely at ease. It should also be said that as two gay men, it was very important for my husband and I to find a wedding venue that made us feel safe and comfortable. Jay and Abby could not have been more welcoming, and really made us feel like they were a part of our family. Booking an event at Maple Shade Farm (which, by the way, is GORGEOUS) means having the privilege to work with two of the most capable, confident, and intuitive people in the industry.
When my son and his fiancé booked this stunningly beautiful venue for their wedding, they said that the warmth, professionalism and dedication of the owners, Abby and Jay Wilson, m...
ade them feel very confident and excited about choosing Maple Shade Farm.
Neither of our families live in the area and I was a bit concerned about logistics, but with guidance from Abby and Jay, the boys planned the wedding of their dreams.
And both of our families would agree that every detail of the entire event was JUST PERFECT!!!
Jay and Abby were always available to answer questions (even from the mothers of the grooms!) with patience and good humor. It's clear that they love what they do, and they were able to offer invaluable suggestions and support when needed. But mostly, they helped our sons create a day that was so filled with JOY!!! There was NO stress, even with a huge guest list and sit-down dinner, everyone was having a wonderful time.
I wish there was a place to share photos because the transformation of the barn into a wonderland of twinkling lights and elegance was breath-taking. I cannot imagine a more memorable occasion than their very special wedding at Maple Shade Farm. Thank you!!!
We really enjoyed having our wedding at Maple Shade Farm. It lived up to our every expectation for a Old Country Style wedding. Ours, in particular, had a bit of an "Old West" twis...
t to it and Jay and Abbie were able to help up achieving our vision of that theme. The barn is absolutely beautiful! All our guests remarked on how lovely the setting was.
“In Jay and Abby we trust" was a line my wife and I used on a weekly basis leading up to our wedding and we suggest you do the same. We got married on August 5th and it was everyt...
hing we hoped for and more, and we owe it all to Jay and Abby. Maple Shade was everything we dreamed it would be, it was not only beautiful, but inviting and the PERFECT place to throw an epic wedding! To say Jay & Abby are attentive is an understatement, in the weeks leading up to our wedding they were there to answer our questions and then to help "talk us off a ledge" when the wedding stress started to get to us. They listened to our ideas and then built off them when it came to decorations, flowers, ceremony site, etc and really brought our vision of our wedding to reality and went above and beyond!! What truly makes MSF special is Jay and Abby. The warmth they bring in every interaction you have with them in addition to the obvious love they have for what they do and the couples they do it for, really creates something completely magical. This is not your cookie cutter venue, to even call it a venue would diminish just how special this place is. We absolutely loved working with them and wish we could do it all over again!! One piece of advice, whatever date they have open, take it! We moved our wedding up two months because of how much we fell in love with this place. 1,000 stars!!
We knew we would get married at Maple Shade as soon as we stepped foot on the farm. The landscape is so unique and breathtaking. The owners, Abby and Jay do a wonderful job helping...
to make your vision/dreams come true. I was having such a hard time expressing exactly what I wanted and somehow they were able to interpret a years worth of emails, Pinterest boards and about 1,000 text messages to create the perfect wedding day for us. Our guests were walking around the entire day/night ooh-ing and ahh-ing about every square inch of the barn. We used Elena and Co. catering which came recommended by MSF and she was absolutely amazing. Abby did all of the flowers for us and made a bouquet for me that should have been featured in a bridal magazine. The week following our wedding we received innumerous phone calls from our guests telling us that our wedding was the most unique and beautiful wedding they had ever been to. If I could go back and do it all over again I would pick Maple Shade 500 times over.
We are so happy with our decision to choose Maple Shade Farm as our wedding venue! We planned our wedding from the west coast and from the moment we had our first video tour of th...
e property, we knew that MSF was the most perfect, magical location and that Jay and Abby would put so much heart into making our wedding day special! The venue itself is perfect! We loved being able to have the ceremony outside by the pond, take photos by the trees, enjoy the gorgeous dining room with beautifully handmade farmhouse tables, and let loose on the very large and fun reception space. We knew with planning long distance we wanted a space that felt unique, but didn't want to have to bring in the decor ourselves. MSF is brilliantly decorated and Abby really takes the time to get to know your style and help decorate accordingly. We opted to go with a subtle travel theme and showed up to our wedding day with globes and vintage suitcases sweetly decorating the space. As much as the venue is truly magical, it was working with Jay and Abby that really made our wedding so special. Our wedding day was not without some hiccups (it poured right before the wedding) but everything was handled behind the scenes without us having to stress out at all. What you might not realize about MSF is that along with a beautiful wedding venue, you are getting expert planners and (let’s be honest) therapists in Jay and Abby. Every time we called with a question or concern, we were given thought out answers and advice. Jay was so instrumental in helping us plan everything from so far away! Not being local to the area we also looked to them for recommendations for most of our vendors and they never steered us in the wrong direction. We also used Abby for our flowers. She was happy to work within our budget and brilliantly turned our Pinterest board vision into a reality. We can’t say enough good things about Maple Shade Farm and Jay and Abby. We would recommend couples that are looking to have a unique wedding in the Catskills get married here in a heartbeat!

ple Shade Farm. It's old charm and rustic accents are perfect. The rolling hills in the backdrop make for amazing scenery.
Jay and Abby are wonderful and help through every step of the way. Abby's vision and decorations were perfect. Their list of vendors are fabulous. We went with all suggestions they gave to us. Everyone complimented our food, dj, photographer, and venue.
We live in the area but had a lot of out of town guests who all raved about the venue saying, "it was one of the best weddings they had been to." You will not regret booking with Jay and Abby.
Having our wedding at Maple Shade Farm was the best decision we could have made. We knew we wanted to have our wedding there the first time we visited. We had our own ideas abou...
t how our wedding should be and Jay and Abby took those ideas to another level. Everything was so beautiful. It was literally the best day of our lives! They surprised us with a vintage truck parked by the barn. Such a nice touch! The grounds are so well taken care of and the views are absolutely stunning. Literally the coolest barn I have ever seen. I can't say enough about our experience. Jay and Abby are so great to work with and I am truly happy that we discovered this gem of a place to have our special day. Highly recommended!!!
My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams at Maple Shade Farm. The venue is unique and unlike anything I've seen elsewhere on the market. If I remember correctly the barn is r...
estored from the 1800s but maintains all it's rustic, original character with minor tweeks and updates to accommodate event services (ex: one of the stalls used for animals was turned into a bar, a small service kitchen was added..etc).
With all it's rustic and raw charm, the barn needs very little in terms of decorations. String lights are already installed throughout the whole venue and the owners (Jay & Abby) have an impressive collection of antiques and accessories for you to personalize the space to your desire.
The venue offers everything you would dream of in a Catskill wedding: beautifully manicured lawns, rustic charm, a constant bonfire that burns through the night, rolling hills surrounding the space and seclusion for you and your party. I can't rave enough about this place. It is a hidden gem and we feel so lucky to be a part of the history the barn holds.
Jay and Abby could not have been better hosts. Their organization, style and guidance throughout the whole wedding process was impeccable. The barn is incredible but THEY are the key ingredient that made our experience absolutely perfect. Anyone who has the opportunity to share their wedding with them is very lucky.
P.S. - On top of hosting the wedding of they year Abby also did our flowers! She is very talented in design and did a perfect job understanding my vision for the bouquets and venue. I highly suggest working with her!!!
When we were still doing an online research of various venues in the Catskills, Maple Shade Farm stood out as the one we liked the most even just based on the pictures, reviews, lo...
cation, etc. Unfortunately, when we initially contacted Abby and Jay, the venue was fully booked for the months we were considering for the wedding (and not surprisingly, as we were to later find out!), but since we were doing some scouting in the area, we decided to stop by and look at it anyways... And our minds were blown away! Set against the backdrop of mountains was everything we had envisioned: an old rustic yet elegant-looking barn, beautiful nature, low-key and cozy vibe, lots of space both inside and outside to let imagination run wild, and even an occasional handsome peacock making his way to the pond :) However, what makes this place stand out even more are the owners - Abby and Jay, - who kindly offered to open one of their generally unavailable weekends for our dream wedding exactly in the time-frame we were hoping for! Talk about flexibility! They both are extremely easygoing, laid back, yet professional and on point. Abby is the creative mind of the duo and she put a lot of effort and time into understanding and then manifesting our colorful, bohemian wedding. They also provide a list of local vendors they have worked with and recommend, and we ended up working with some of them as well. Whenever times got stressful, Abby and Jay were there to ensure everything was under control and were there to take care of any "hiccups" along the way. The wedding went fabulously and smoothly, and a lot of it had to do with Abby and Jay's oversight and supervision. Abby can make any, and I mean ANY bride's dream come true! Looking back at the day we went to look at the place for the firs time, we now know it was meant to be. We highly, HIGHLY recommend Maple Shade Farm :)
When my husband and I set out in search of a wedding venue, Maple Shade Farm was the first and only place we looked at. It surpassed all of my expectations and was a truly a dream ...
location. Once we met the owners of this amazing venue we knew we were in good hands. Throughout the year of planning Jay and Abby Wilson went above and beyond to help make our day special and unique to us. Not being from the area was a concern of ours, but they were so professional and always answered our phone calls and emails with enthusiasm! They each have a special gift that made it an absolute pleasure to work with them. They are both so calming, supportive, and helpful. Abby did a beautiful job on my flowers and came up with creative and stunning ways to execute my vision for decor. Jay helped the day run so smoothly. We can truly never thank them enough for all they did. Maple Shade Farm is a magical venue that I would highly recommend to anyone in search of a rustic, barn venue in the Catskills. Choosing to have our wedding at Maple Shade Farm was the best decision we made in the whole wedding planning process (aside from marrying each other in the first place). It's not j...
ust because of the beautiful setting or the unique two-level barn. It's because when you get married at Maple Shade Farm, you get Jay and Abby, who make it their business to make your wedding exactly what you have in mind. You want a different bar for your outdoor cocktail hour? They will make it from scratch with two days to go. You want chicken nuggets at midnight? They will make chicken nuggets happen. They make it their mission to understand your vision and help you accomplish it. They helped us figure out flowers, table runners, cocktail tables, extra lighting, you name it. And they were very open to working with all of the other vendors we brought in. We had so many people come up to us and tell us that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to, and so much of that had to do with the amazing setting, nestled in the Catskill Mountains, the cozy and beautiful barn and the warmth you feel when you step onto the property. We had a lot of kids at our wedding, and they loved running around the pond and checking out the peacock, and their parents danced and danced the night away. It was an incredibly memorable day and we are so glad we chose to do it there, and so grateful to have made new friends in Jay and Abby.
