About this vendor
Located in Mount Vernon, WA, Maplehurst Farm is a historic venue that hosts weddings and other special occasions. Nestled in the scenic Skagit Valley, this property is only one hour north of downtown Seattle and 35 minutes south of downtown Bellingham. You can make this six-acre family estate and farm the setting for your dream country wedding.
Maplehurst Farm features landscaped gardens, an expansive grass field, and old-growth trees outdoors. It also has a 5,000-square-foot event barn and a 2,000-square-foot guest house. Additionally, the farm property features stunning views of Mount Baker, a famed historic mansion and arbor built in 1903. Richard & Pat Smith acquired the mansion in 1965, and had it moved it to the farm via barge on the Skagit River, along with the historic arbor and numerous trees. The Smiths lived at the farm for 43 before selling it in 2008 to their grandson Jeffrey Anderson and his fiancee Jessie Hayton. This couple married on the property and found it such a success that they were inspired to offer the estate to others for their weddings.
Maplehurst Farm can host up to 200 guests for your wedding celebrations. You can enjoy a grand entrance with old growth sugar maple trees, expansive gardens and lawns with views of the Skagit Valley and Mount Baker. The reception room offers ample seating for your occasion, including chandeliers and string lights. Jessie Anderson offers to schedule a tour for you to see these premises.

Venue was beautiful and they give you a lot of decorations, chairs, and tables to work with.
2 public bathrooms and 1 private was very helpful.
Perfect place for a wedding!
As a wedding DJ I see many venues and I love when I get hired to work here. The ceremony garden is cozy and only a short walk. The barn is large with tall ceiling which makes for great sound. I always get the opportunity to provide sparklers for the long driveway which makes for a great photo. I hope to be able to work here again! What is meant to be the most exciting day of your life is often the most stressful.
The flow of your wedding, the needs of the guests, and trying to stay on schedule all distract you from enjoying your big day. It may not seem like it, but the venue you choose greatly impacts your stress levels. Pick a good venue, and your wedding will run smoothly, pick a bad venue, and it will be chaos.
Maplehurst Farms is designed to simplify your wedding experience so that all you have to do is enjoy the ride.
We were skeptical at first about paying a big price tag for a venue. I always joked that I've never done this before—getting married, that is—and I didn't know what we needed, how much it should cost, and whether or not we were getting ripped off for the sake of "marriage" like so many other services you have to pay for.
We decided to get married at Maplehurst because it is a beautiful venue. Everything went off without a hitch and it was a perfect experience. All of our memories are of looking deeply into each others eyes, dancing under the lights. And we owe much of that to the amenities that the venue offers.
Everything at the venue is designed to make your wedding easier. They have countless decorations, furniture, and place-setting options that can be used to set up the barn for a uniquely beautiful reception that fits your style.
They have a guest house on location where you and your wedding party can stay for several nights leading up to the wedding day. This allowed us to stage food and decorations and it greatly simplified the logistics of the wedding day, letting us focus on getting ready and enjoying our champagne, rather than worrying about traffic and timing.
The best part of our wedding was having all of our friends and family celebrating together, and staying in the guest house with our wedding party was one of the highlights.
They have a great team of people who are there to serve and support you. They accommodated all of our questions and needs, helped us source local services like caterers and the makeup artist, and they cleaned up the venue after we were done.
The owner, Jessie, understands that this once in a lifetime experience can be stressful or beautiful — and everything about the venue and the services they provide is designed to make your day simple and special.
If you want your wedding to be an unforgettable experience with none of the hassle or stress, Maplehurst is the venue you should choose!
I couldn’t be happier with this venue. Not only did my cousin get married at it in 2018, her sister got married there in March of 2021, and my husband and I also did just a few weeks ago under the beautiful Maple trees that line the driveway. Not because it’s a family tradition, but because we LOVE the place that much. Not one of our 3 weddings looked the same. Not only do they offer SO MANY different backdrops for your ceremony the place decorates itself. From a beautiful wooden chandelier inside to barn, to beautiful landscaping, and the view of Mt. Baker in the back the venue is everything we dreamed of and more. They also have all the decorations you would need if you choose to use them from lanterns, cedar rounds, and all different size vases for every table, to wine barrels, candles, and even more cupcake/cake stands then you know what to do with. They provide you with time at the venue every month for planning purposes, along with so much more. I will always recommend this venue for any season! The hosts Jessie, and her husband do a incredible job of making sure you have everything you need for the rehearsal, and the day of. They we’re accommodating to us and what time we’d like to get there and leave, and always quick to respond if we emailed with any questions. Our day was perfect with much thanks to them!
I loved Maplehurst Farm! The location is absolutely stunning with views of Mt. Baker, a treelined driveway, lush garden, rustic reception barn, and gorgeous mansion. I had my wedding here during the summer and the venue was the perfect space! The garden was the perfect spot for the ceremony, and there was a wheat field growing in the back. There's plenty of places for photos and ample space to entertain guests. They even have a space for yard games and metal fire pits. The Maplehurst Farm staff were easy to work with, helpful, friendly and available on-site if need be. This venue is also great for a budget-friendly wedding, with tons of decor included in the price + all dining ware available for a budget-friendly flat rental rate. I also loved their Open Barn days; once a month you can visit the venue and plan, vision, and run through your wedding day. I absolutely loved this place and would recommend it to anyone!
This venue offers an amazing indoor and outdoor options for the perfect northwest wedding. Amazing gardens and tree lined driveway make for endless photo opportunities. Vintage home is an elegant backdrop for any event and even view of Mt. Baker from this quiet location. Endless opportunities to make your perfect event unique and memorable.
I cannot recommend Maplehurst enough for a wedding! We postponed twice during covid, and finally had our day, which was perfect. Jessie was helpful and responsive throughout, despite the ongoing uncertainties of covid, and made us completely at ease and confident that whatever restrictions might be in place, they would accommodate and adjust. We were lucky that things were fairly open when we finally had our wedding, and everything came together flawlessly. All the rest of our vendors had good experiences there as well. We live in Michigan and had many guests travel for the wedding, and the overwhelming response was that it was worth the drive from the airport, the rental car, the extra travel, etc. even for those who were not local because of how beautiful it is there (we considered a few venues closer to the airport but I'm so glad we went with Maplehurst). The location itself is stunning, and there are multiple areas around the farm and the house that allow for gorgeous photos. Simply put we could not have had a better venue or a more beautiful day. Highly recommend Maplehurst to anyone planning a wedding or event in the area!
Maplehurst Farm is a D R E A M!! Highly recommend Maplehurst Farm for your wedding or upcoming event. Jessie is such a pleasure to work with. She is so kind, patient, and accommodating. Almost everything you need is already onsite and included in the venue cost, it's such an affordable and extremely beautiful venue. I think they could charge more ;) but am so thankful for their pricing as-is because it was perfect for us. I will also say, Jessie is very very flexible too. We had a few items left behind the next day, and she didn't charge us any extra for leaving some of our items behind.
The venue also has a duplex guest house you can rent as well. We took full advantage of this for our out of town friends and family, and used this space for folks to get ready, and used as a babysitters space during our adults-only wedding.
I almost shifted to four stars, because if you have questions I recommend being extremely clear in your ask and making sure you have a very clear answer in response. At times when we had questions that required a 'yes' or 'no' answer, we would get a bit of a muddy response, and would have to clarify. But obviously not a big enough concern to change from five to four stars.
Overall, Maplehurst Farm/Jessie is the BEST. Such a versatile space for any weather conditions, beautiful spaces all over the property for photos and so so nice to have the owners onsite day of. I'm really hoping I get to go to more weddings at Maplehurst Farm in the future!
Highly recommend. We found Jessie to be patient, accommodating, and very clear in her communications. Covid twice delayed my daughter's wedding plans, and Jessie worked with us for well over a year to settle on a date that would work. We could not have been more pleased with the beautiful location, which included several options for the wedding ceremony, beautiful surroundings for photographs, places for children to play, places for groups to meet and talk without distraction, lawn games, seating for dinner and dancing. There was plenty in the way of supplies (plates, glasses, cutlery, tables, chairs, table and barn decorations, tables of various sizes, signage). Expectations were clearly spelled out, so we understood what was off limits (no hard liquor, music and the bar ending prior to the end of the party out of consideration for their neighbors) and what was acceptable. We heard many very positive comments from our guests, and walked away with nothing whatsoever clouding our memories of a wonderful event. A very positive experience in every way.
Maplehurst is amazing! The venue and location are so beautiful and on the day of your wedding, you get access to everything!! They also have so many extras at the venue that you can use including yard games, dishes, decorations and so much more! Also, all the furniture can be moved wherever you want it for your big day! Jessie was so great to work with even while living/planning my wedding in a different state and in the middle of covid she was able to answer all of our questions and we were always able to schedule a time to come see the venue whenever we were in town! She really does a great job at working with you and doing anything she can to make your day perfect! Also, I loved that we could have our dogs at the venue all day as they were part of our wedding! I would recommend Maplehurst to everyone!
It wasn't hard to fall in love with Maplehurst when my fiance and I first stepped foot on its grounds in 2019. However, like many couples, we were forced to rethink our wedding due to the pandemic and were extremely disheartened with how Maplehurst handled this unforeseen global crisis. When we started to realize our wedding would look entirely different than planned, we began to reach out to Maplehurst, who - not only was unresponsive for some time - but then kept holding on to the fact that our wedding will be fine, over and over, stalling, and not offering any sort of concrete plan in the midst of the pandemic. This was incredibly difficult to deal with since my fiance and I have family and friends all over the world (I'm from Chicago with family in Poland, England, and Norway...and, my Maid of Honor currently lives in Spain), and it was critical we plan ahead. We're also certain they held several events in the midst of the pandemic when it was prohibited, putting the health of their guests at risk. What's most disheartening is how they were setting demands and sticking to what they thought was best, putting their views on us while our special day getting uprooted. We ended up getting a lawyer and I can fairly estimate that my fiance spent 20+ hours of his own time in what was probably 7-8 rounds of communication with our lawyer and Maplehurst, after which Maplehurst finally agreed to return payment minus the deposit. Why they made this so difficult was hard to understand too since they had a clause in their contract stating that if an unforeseeable crisis occurs, the customer is eligible for a full refund. I should also add that in the middle of this, they offered us the option to reschedule to unfavorable dates (i.e. Monday- Wednesday) in 2021 when we paid for a prime Saturday date to begin with. I honestly loved their venue, and envisioned my wedding there, but I can say with full confidence that they had zero plan when other vendors were so flexible and understanding, offering concrete solutions that were fair to us and them. In addition, all of our other vendors returned 100% of our payments plus deposits. At a time when we were supposed to happy, Maplehurst made planning unbearable and cumbersome. They did not - by any means - put the customer first and were selfish in their intentions. The way they treated us did in no way translate as professional or empathetic, which is why I can confidently say that if you want to be taken care of on your most special of days, think twice before booking at Maplehurst.
"We can't postpone your wedding because of some germs." That is what we were told when we asked to reschedule our September 2020 wedding in June of 2020. More on that in a moment. Here is my reasoning for why the owners of Maplehurst Farm have no business being in the wedding industry. A. Zero empathy. B. Terrible communications. C. Continued to encourage couples to have their weddings at their property despite state recommendations against it during the COVID-19 pandemic. D. Lied about their ability to hold gatherings and have food served during the pandemic. E. Showed a disregard for the safety of guests to their property. F. Had no plan for dealing with the pandemic causing couples to change their own plans almost daily. G. Didn’t know their own payment deadlines, asked for money early. H. Took up hours (literally months) of our time trying to ensure we could have a safe wedding. I. Forced us to hire a lawyer to receive a refund. Each of these points is further explained in the following lengthy and completely true review. In short, I’d rather get married in the middle of a busy freeway than ever have to deal with the owners of this venue.
Please see full review on Google.
In short, our desire to postpone our wedding was out of pure necessity in an effort to prevent the possibility of our loved ones getting sick and possibly dying, something the venue owners seemed to not care about as long as they made a buck. There are much better people in the wedding and hospitality business throughout Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom County. I fully recommend you use any of them.
We got married October 26, 2019 at Maplehurst Farm! It was such a beautiful and perfect day. I absolutely loved the vintage plates and other decorations they provide. We chose Maplehurst because of the history and sentimental feeling it had. Plus the view is one of the best! In the Bridal suite, there are old pictures of the owners family on their wedding day. So sweet! We ended up using that idea and had old wedding pictures of our families as part of our decor. Our guests loved it! We had our ceremony through the Maple trees and it was a DREAM! The leaves were perfect and added pretty colors to our pictures. I highly suggest getting married in the Fall. We also rented the guest house which was great for extra parking and having another spot to get ready at. The owners were very kind and laid back. I highly recommend this venue! It was a wonderful experience and a day we will never forget.
Did not experience good customer service. Communication could be improved and the owner can be very rude, rather than understanding. Venue is beautiful though - not my type of preferred professional relationship but minus having to deal with the owner, the venue can host beautiful weddings.
Jessie knows her stuff and will make you feel completely at ease. I loved her so much, I am writing this review after having visited Maplehurst to tour the site as my potential wedding venue!
Jessie answered our questions thoughtfully and showed us the practicalities of the barn— so helpful when you are starting to plan!!).
Her love for the site (including the house) is absolutely infectious. She’s honest, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind— I felt calm and confident with her support!
Maplehurst itself is a GORGEOUS venue— the barn actually feels like a barn (this is definitely a plus!), but has all of the windows and modern little touches to give you the elegance you want AND connect you with the outdoors and the beauty of the surrounding land. Trees abound at this location, and during May (which is when my fiancé and I toured the grounds), there are gorgeous flowers and rich greens everywhere.
Maplehurst is such a good place to start a new chapter of life. From the grounds to the barn to the owners/wedding coordinator, Maplehurst feels wholesome and just plain GOOD.
Overall, Maplehurst Farm was a beautiful venue for our wedding. We were able to take advantage of the wide variety of places for photos, fun furniture, décor and mismatched china to make our day truly unique. The space provides plenty of opportunities to personalize your day. For 150 people, the ceremony and reception spaces were a perfect fit. We did have some challenges with communication with the venue; delayed response times, vague answers, misinformation or sometimes no answer at all.
Additionally, if you plan on having your ceremony on the grass lawn, do take the time of year into consideration. There is no guarantee that the grass at and around the ceremony space will be green for a late summer/early fall wedding, and the dead grass is noticeable in photos. We felt that Maplehurst Farm was a beautiful venue however there is room to improve in communicating with couples and maintaining the lawn of the main ceremony space.
Such a beautiful property with amazing hosts! Jessie made our special day so stress free and was willing to help with anything we needed. Will forever recommend Maplehurst Farms!
Jessie was the best, so communicative and kind and always had the answer to my questions. I can't tell you how many times throughout the night and even now, 2 weeks later, people have commented on the property. We had the time of our lives and I can't wait to see how beautiful everything looks in photos :)
We got married at Maplehurst Farm on September 8th and it was everything we had hoped for. The venue is beautiful and completely fit our rustic style. One of the perks is everything is already on site except linens. The venue rental includes tables, chairs, all dishes and cutlery and they have display tables and items, a food prep and serving area and a beautiful barn with lights already strung from the ceiling. They also include troughs for drinks, marshmallow roasting sticks with a fire pit and adirondack chairs, as well as a separate suites for the bridesmaids/bride and groomsmen/groom to get ready. We also fell in love with Maplehurst because we could have the wedding outside and then have space for people to mingle and play yard games after the ceremony. It also has an awesome play house for the kiddos, as well as lots of room for them to run around. The barn has large garage doors that can be left open to get fresh air and natural light and Maplehurst provides bartenders to serve your beer and wine. Our day there was perfect and we even brought our dog to hang out for the day and she was able to run around the farm for most of the morning and also during the reception. Jeff and Jessica, the owners, are a pleasure to work with and were so helpful and receptive to all of my questions leading up to the wedding. I'm so glad we came across Maplehurst and were able to have our special day at such a beautiful and perfect venue.
Only went on a tour but the grounds are gorgeous, the host is very friendly and the space is very functional. The mix and match table settings are cute especially for those looking for a rustic feel. Was more than we were looking to spend on the space costs and was a bit out of the way for us but would definitely recommend
Incredible venue! Maplehurst farm is a dreamy location with beautiful gardens, a breathtaking maple tree line driveway, and a rustic barn perfect for your wedding celebration! The grooms cottage and bridal suite provide private spaces to prepare and relax. They really have it all! I can't tell you how many of my wedding guests said that it was their dream wedding venue and they hope to get married there too. Owners Jeffrey and Jessie Anderson are super friendly and helpful. Not to mention they have a guesthouse next door you can reserve for anyone who wants to be able to walk to the venue. Book a tour, you won't be sorry you checked it out!
Maplehurst Farm is the most beautiful wedding and reception venue! The owner Jessie is extremely helpful with planning and answering any questions that come up during the process. Definitely hire their bartenders and cleanup crew.
I loved the venue, they included so many decor objects and furniture that it really helped the budget and made decorating easy and way less stressful.
However, I chose the venue based on some decor that was in the main barn when I toured. By my wedding date, they had moved these items and instead left me with a very unsightly blank white wall. I was disappointed, and felt that I didn't get what I signed up for. I did ask if the items could be moved back in to the room, and was told no.
They make you use their bartender, who is one of the proprietors. They don't tell you this upfront.
Good price, not good service- I would recommend this venue to someone on a budget. Still loved my event!
I had originally booked Hidden Meadows as my wedding venue, but when I took one look at Maplehurst Farm, I made the switch. The owner Jessie is extremely nice and helpful. With the rental of this venue, you get use ALL of their adorable decor, china, silverware, tables, chairs, patio heaters, moveable firpit, s'mores sticks, etc for FREE. You don't have to pay an extra cent to use anything and everything. The grounds is absolutely beautiful, especially the tunnel of trees covering the driveway. Then, you see the inside of the barn and it blows you away. As a wedding photographer myself, I have seen a lot of venues, and Maplehurst is by far one of the best venues I have ever been to!
The setting and grounds are beautiful. The recent renovations and upgrades include indoor restrooms and beautiful French doors in the barn! The grounds are beautifully kept and all the dished etc. are so beautifully kept for your use. The perfect weather didn't hurt anything either!
