Tamara Tessmer is the ultimate wedding coordinator! From the beginning she was more than gracious about giving me the destination wedding of my dreams within our budget and she knocked it out of the park!!
When the hurricane decided to try and derail my plans, Tamara was a driving force with reassurances , concessions, and options for our guests that truly elevated our experience! She went above and beyond what any other venue would do to make my wedding an amazing experience right from the start and never floundered or flinched during the hurricane! She gave me the confidence to push through and it was the best decision I’ve ever made!
Everything was first class! On an economy budget! The professionalism by her and the staff was impeccable! My guests were blown away by the delicious food and beverages provided at the welcome party and the wedding, not to mention the beautiful ceremony space! It was amazing!

A true Florida Fairytale - Margaritaville was the absolute perfect location for our wedding! Our guests can’t stop talking about how incredible the food was, as well as the atmosphere and the gorgeous backdrop. Lissette was absolutely incredible to work with and made the whole experience so smooth. Cannot possibly recommend this venue enough!!!
The Wedding Event staff was responsive and knowledgeable about various options for the ceremony, reception, and rehearsal dinner. They were transparent about the true costs of each venue, each menu, and additional items and services. The catering manager (Lissette) and staff were professional and attentive. The wedding coordinator (Michelle) assigned to our event knew exactly how to get everyone where they needed to be and when. When a few things needed changing at the last minute, they were able to facilitate solutions. The entire weekend went so smoothly because the Margaritaville event staff made sure it flowed.

I am going to preface my review by saying my husband and I are Italian from NY. So anyone who is familiar with NY/NJ Italian Weddings knows what I mean when I say we are used to big, over the top, weddings where EVERYTHING is included and they will make ANYTHING you want a reality.. We definitely wanted something different, but just noting this is not that kind of Wedding Venue.
When we first visited Margaritaville in 2020, we knew we could picture our wedding here. It was bright, brand new, airy, clean, and had so many Modern, Tropical, Romantic aspects that we loved.
Once we were engaged in 2022, we reached out to schedule a formal tour and learn more about the offerings. We met with a team member who is no longer there, booked our date and began the process.
With our Wedding being in May of 2024, and having had booked in August of 2022, we had almost two full years of planning - which can be daunting at times because there is only so much to accomplish and get done in certain timeframes.
After some miscommunication regarding the Catering Manager I initially booked with leaving her position (which was my biggest fear after seeing the past reviews), in came Lissette who was nothing but a pleasure to work with.
She was very understanding of my stress of having to get her up to speed on my vision and went above and beyond to make sure our day was everything I envisioned. She was always quick to respond and on the money.
She was always an advocate for us and worked hard to accomplish each and every one of my asks. We had a wonderful final walkthrough/tasting a few months prior to the wedding which left us with minimal finalizations to do ahead of the big day. All in all, I would recommend Margaritaville Orlando as a Wedding Venue and working with Lissette if possible.
The resort has several beautiful options for where you can hold your ceremony and reception. We opted for a ceremony outside with a Reception in the Compass Rose Ballroom. The ballroom was my least favorite thing about the resort. It is very beige and boring. But, I pulled together so many excellent vendors who transformed the space into a bright and colorful room full of romance.
I only have a few cons from my Wedding day that are no direct reflection of Lissette, but are worth noting as things to look out for:
- When booking, we were given one night stay in a suite for the night of the wedding. Since we wanted to get ready there, we had to book and pay for the night before, which would then be upgraded to a suite to match what the comp is. When I went to check into this room at 9am on Friday for my Saturday wedding (since I was already there staying in the Cottages) I was told my room would be ready soon! Which was music to my ears as I had a lot to transport up to the room before my 4:30pm rehearsal. Long story short, the day went by and there was never a room ready for me. When I called the front desk to question it, I was told I would have to wait til 4pm (which I understand to be standard, but I was told one thing, and another happened...) It took a couple of hours longer, but I finally got into the room around 3pm that day. With the amount of money we spent to have our Wedding there, and the amount of guests I had staying at the resort, I was very disheartened by the treatment from the staff at the desk that day. ---- But, the one bright side was the beautiful Champagne and Chocolate Covered Strawberries left in our suite after the wedding, with a beautiful card from Lissette -- again, she saved the day.
-The ceremony space wasnt "locked down" until about 10 minutes before I walked down the aisle. All during my first look, hotel guests in bathing suits were trapsing through where we were. There were about 5 instances in 10 minutes where people almost stepped on my veil...
- In the age of social media, I did a lot of research to see past events at Margaritaville to gauge the things I did and didnt like, as well as put together my vision. One thing I had seen SEVERAL times online was the use of Cold Sparks in the HUGE ballroom. I booked a package that included these with my DJs, who also confirmed they had used them there before so it would be no problem. Well, the day of my wedding, it was a problem. They were told they couldnt set them up. Fortunately, I was so relaxed the day of my wedding and realized I had no say in things at this point, I let it go. From what I can gather, there is someone new in charge who is very by the book and fails to take into consideration that a little grace goes a long way when someone is planning the biggest day of their lives! It is not my fault that their practices were different then who came before them...I had dreamed of the pictures with the sparklers since the day I booked them two years ago, but fortunately, my DJ's and coordinator came up with an alternative so 2 of the 4 I had paid for could still be used at the exit.
- Overall, the food was good. Everyone had great things to say about our choices for the cocktail hour. There were some meals where the meat was either severely overcooked, undercooked, or in some cases, the fish had an extra fishy smell. But, our guests were all great and nobody mentioned any of these things until the next day.
- The one major thing I am very dissappointed in is Coffee Service never took place. Of my 116 guests, only 5 guests got coffee and that is because they explicetely asked for it. Shame on us for having fun on the dancefloor and not stopping to think we needed to check on this standard piece of any function. Again, our guests showed great kindness and didnt inform us of this til the next day.
- It was hotter than usual in Florida the week of my wedding, so ALL of the resort spaces were very hot the entire time. Hallways, bathrooms, the ballroom, the Foyer - there was nowhere to go for relief. I understand it takes a lot to cool down a space that big, but it was unbearable at times..
These few things definitely caused me some unnecessary stress and dissapointment on my Wedding day but the love we were surrounded by saved the day.
All in all, Margaritaville did a nice job. The venue is beautiful and most of the staff was pleasant and kind.
One huge pro of having your wedding here is they provide you with a Day of Coordinator - and in my case, Kelsey from Simply Enchanted Events was who was assigned. Kelsey and Lissette worked seamlessly together to make sure everything leading up to the day was perfect. There is definitely value in that offering so I must give credit there!
I truly can't say enough wonderful things about Lissette and Kelsey.
For any other NY/NJ brides who are familiar with those costs, just know there is in fact value in what you pay in the Tri-State Area. The cost savings in Florida is in the vendors, not the venue, as each asks comes with a price tag, and a hefty admin tax + sales tax (++).

When we first signed our contract, there was a ton of staffing changes which caused some hiccups in the beginning of our wedding planning. However, as the day got closer and Kelsey took over, all of our worries were laid to rest. The staff ensured that every detail was taken care of. Margaritaville was the perfect location for us since most of our guests were traveling and we had the convenience of hosting everything in one place. It was a wonderful setting with so many beautiful places for pictures.
The wait staff was extremely attentive and a lot of them spoke Spanish which was wonderful for our family. After the ceremony, the staff had even set up a smaller room for us to have the food from the cocktail hour before we went in to the reception. The food was all delicious but the biggest highlights (that we are still getting compliments from our guests about) were the cheeseburgers in paradise, the coconut shrimp, the coconut margaritas, and the rum punch.
Looking back at our wedding day, we are so happy we went with Margaritaville! Thank you, thank you, thank you to the staff that made our day better than we ever imagined!
I booked my ceremony and reception with Margaritaville Resort Orlando 14 months in advance. I had lots of questions at the beginning of the planning process, but it was very hard to reach anyone in the events department. To make a long story short, I was making phone calls and emails for months with no response. There were about 6 months left before my wedding when I was finally able to reach someone. It turns out that my wedding coordinator had left the hotel, and no one ever reached out to me regarding the change. The lack of communication was unprofessional. Luckily my new wedding coordinator Lissette was very responsive, helpful, and overall lovely to work with. My wedding planner Manuela, who was subcontracted by Margaritaville, was also amazing. Both of these ladies made sure every detail was taken care of and to my liking. The venue itself has a classy beach vibe. Everyone who attended was very satisfied with the meal choices, drink options, and delicious cake (included with my package). It was a rocky start, but the end product was a wedding of my dreams.
My husband and I had our reception here in April, 2023. Ashley Poulin was our wedding coordinator, she was very patient with us. We were not the only couple on her calendar and she was able to respond in a timely manner.
The price per person is all inclusive (food, cake, drinks, etc.), depending on the package you choose. We also stayed on property, the rooms were so nice and the property is stunning. Margaritaville is a pretty penny, but worth every cent.
When I originally booked Margaritaville in September 2021 up until May 2022, I have been in contact with many different sales/catering managers there which stressed me out. When I had a question about tables or tastings, I would be directed to the newest manager and they would have no idea what wedding was happening when. I started second guessing my venue choice until Ashley came in. She was great to work with and answered all of my questions and made sure I wasn't stressing too much. She helped throughout the planning process and was there day of which was a huge plus! Booking MRO was the best decision ever! From the staff at the front desk to the servers working my wedding were outstanding! Everyone was so nice and happy to be there! 1000/10 recommend this venue to couples!!

We booked Margaritaville for our 2022 October Wedding in March 2021. From the original Events Manager we booked with we were passed around quite a few times and communication was lacking. We had one person (Jacob) that kept trying make us change our plans to something that would be easier for him but was not what we wanted. We honestly weren’t sure what to expect when our day rolled around. It got to the point where we were super defeated and just wanted the wedding to be over and whatever happened happened.
Then enter the angel that is Kelsey O’Conner. We told her our frustrations with everything (and one) we had had to that point and that we simply just weren’t excited. She COMPLETELY turned things around and exceeded our expectations. She was quick to respond- put out fires before we knew there were fires, and made our day the best ever. She even had to deal with my type A mom who can be a bit overwhelming and held her own in a nice professional way (which is saying something!) Margaritaville has an absolute treasure with Kelsey. Our Wedding was HUGE (and we even had a wedding crasher that Margaritaville dealt with for us) and all of our guests talked about how wonderful everything was from the atmosphere to the food. We had a lot of out of town guests that stayed both in the hotel and at the cottages and said it was one of the best vacations They’ve had in a long time.
i was beyond excited for my wedding here. however, they switched my coordinator person 7 times & everyone on their event staff quit. communication was HORRIBLE! 5 days before the wedding things still were not correct & i was trying to get them fixed. they also showed edited pics of the venue & i was highly upset & disappointed when i got there. we had a lot of issues the morning of the wedding too, but my dad handled it & then they finally gave us everything promised & more. i asked multiple times about the honeymoon suite & they called the night before the wedding saying we had the suite that night & the next night. it was too late to use it the first night as we both already had other places to stay. they also would not close down the one side of the pool during the ceremony so people were standing in the back ground at the pool watching the wedding. someone also walked RIGHT behind us & photobombed our first kiss. the whole thing was very unorganized & we paid way to much to be treated the way i was. not once did they offer a discount or anything for not communicating with me. i went the WHOLE month before the wedding without speaking to a single person there.
i will say, my photographer is a amazing & so our pictures look beautiful thanks to her editing skills getting the people & unwanted stuff out of the background. we did receive a lot of compliments on the food & the guests experience, despite the stress & issues we had to deal with to get it how it was supposed to be, we’ll close to it anyways.
I just recently got married here on March 20, 2022, at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. 50 Person Wedding.
Disaster is an understatement. My wedding was stunning, do not get me wrong, but you know why that is? Because of my incredible day-of-coordinator Samantha Follmer as well as the ambiance of the venue itself. This is how it started; Kasey Bussell sold the venue she made us feel so confident in our decision with signing here. She was sweet, down-to-earth, had years of experience, and just made us feel like we were her main priority. Three to four months go by, Kasey sends out a beautiful resignation email due to family matters - to all her clients to reassure them she will only find the best talent to take over her role. Kasey hired a woman named Kristie who had worked for Disney events for numerous years. Again, I reached out to her and explained my wedding vision. But, only about a month in, Kristie resigns leaving my wedding with only 6 months left to yet another venue coordinator. No one reached out to me to let me know Kristie left. I called around and finally, someone told me that a man named Jacob was to take over my wedding now. He was not on top of it at all. Every single time I called him he would always say, “remind me of your wedding again, I don’t have your file in front of me,” Very shortly after, Jacob left/got fired. Two weeks before my wedding! No venue coordinator. Rose Pope (Jacob’s Boss) took over my wedding two weeks before my big day. Even after countless phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings with Jacob, Rose Pope had no clue what my wedding entailed. So once again, I had to re-explain every detail again! The worst part was during my wedding reception (the last hour) they called me over (The Bride) to sign papers acknowledging the total cost of the wedding! DURING MY WEDDING. On the last hour of my special day, they wanted me to sign papers! If you ask me, it was a huge red flag to call over the bride at the very end of the night after a few drinks to sign some papers in the dark. It was so disrespectful and disturbing to me. The venue food was good but again, they ran out of food during my cocktail hour so numerous of my guests could not eat even though we paid for the number of total guests to have passed hors d'oeuvres. Rose did everything she could to not be involved and made the minimum possible effort. If we did not hire a day-of coordinator, the whole wedding would have failed in Rose’s hands. In the final two weeks before my wedding, Rose would go multiple days without responding to calls or emails, often requiring me to follow up 2-3 times. In meeting with Rose with my family during the rehearsal, rose made a short appearance but her lack of a sense of urgency or any reassurance was immediately apparent. When we questioned her about things that were supposed to be in order, Rose responded in a disrespectful manner that left us all shocked afterwards, which even more so lowered our confidence in Rose’s ability to handle everything.
Rose did not show up for even one minute during my whole wedding. The reception room and open bar were paid for until 10pm. They started breaking down the bar at 9:40pm and no one was allowed to drink anymore. Overall, please do not book this event space, they really dropped the ball on every aspect of my wedding weekend. I spent countless hours and thousands of dollars getting stressed out, disappointed the whole weekend of my wedding and even during my reception.
This resort made my prefect wedding dreams comes true. We were in the Compass Rose Ballroom, and the food the ambiance were all prefect. They had plenty of staff in hand to make sure our guests were well taken care of. They were even able to set aside a Yichud Room for us to seclude in after our ceremony, with a selection of our appetizers and a bottle of champagne for us to sip on while why calmed down from the ceremony. Our suit we stayed in we gorgeous and they were able to make everything we asked for happen. I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Margaritaville resort in Orlando as a wedding venue!
We got married here January 2022 and it was truly amazing. The venue is beautiful and the convenience of not having to pick food vendors, center pieces, decor etc is so nice. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Jessica, the event coordinator, is prompt with communication and makes you feel heard. The staff who catered to us throughout the weekend were so great.
I am a wedding planner and recently had the pleasure of working a wedding here. It was a Christmas themed wedding and had lots of moving parts involved. The hotel staff was so accommodating and helped in whatever it was i needed to make the brides vision a reality. In part of the planning process, they always answered emails right away and also fit the dietary needs of the wedding guests even though certain things were not on the menu. I hope I get to work another wedding here soon!
This venue is truly beautiful! My husband and I were blown away by how well the Margaritaville team put everything together for us. We knew this was the place we wanted to get married since we first walked in. They made planning the wedding process as stress free as possible and would highly recommend them for your wedding!

Best place for a wedding! We received so many compliments on the resort, all of the staff, and those that worked the wedding reception. The food was phenomenal and the wedding coordinators did a FANTASTIC job in every area. The resort itself is so beautiful that we hardly needed any decor.
Margaritaville was a venue that completely exceeded our expectations! We got a hotel AND cottage block discount for all of our guests that were staying in a hotel/cottage for our wedding. The lobby, the landscaping, the cottages, and the venue were just BREATHTAKINGLY beautiful. The catering, alcohol, and the linens were all handled through Margaritaville and it was so easy! We originally started working with Kacey but when she had to leave due to unforeseen circumstances, Grace stepped in for Kacey and completely WOWed us. Kacey and Grace were super helpful, very knowledgeable, very kind, and knew how to get the job done!!! Our requests were handled in a timely manner and we got everything we could have possibly dreamed of! Grace was there for me more than I ever expected the day of the wedding and did everything in her power to make sure everything ran smoothly and everything was up to par. Margaritaville was a BEAUTIFUL venue inside and out and I definitely recommend having it here for your fairytale wedding!!

Kasey made the entire process from viewing the venue during a pandemic, planning, and my 1,000 questions such an enjoyable and easy process. We had our wedding here and it was absolutely perfect!!! Kasey was amazing to work with and she coordinated the day and our vendors perfectly! The reception space was set up exactly how I had envisioned. The food and drinks were fabulous! All of our guests have gone on and on about how much fun they had. The vendors we hired from the preferred vendor list were excellent (DJ and florist). I would recommend this venue to anyone. It was the perfect combination of fun, vibrant tropical and upscale.
I highly recommend Kasey and the Margaritaville Resort in Orlando. We were a last minute cruise wedding that was cancelled and had to scramble to find a place for our wedding reception. Kasey was prompt and very helpful with planning and made sure everything was taken care of. Highly recommend!!
Absolutely beautiful resort with so many options! I could not have imagined my wedding anywhere else!! It was beautiful!! The property is also so stunning for pictures everywhere!! Our dinner was inside euphoria! We originally were going to be outside on the balcony.. but weather was a little chilly and Kasey just instantly helped me out and gave us a private spot inside! Our wedding was only us and 9 guests, but when I entered the restaurant the whole place was cheering!! The staff.. the kitchen.. even the band!! They were hands down the best!! Couldn’t be happier!!!! Thank you so so so much!! Memory of a lifetime!! We will be back!!
Due to covid and travel restrictions, we changed our wedding from an international travel destination to a state side travel destination 5 weeks before our wedding date. We dove in blind and only relied on pictures and reviews and we are so thankful we did. We planned everything virtually and Kasey made it extremely easy with FaceTime calls and walk thru’s. The resort was everything and more! Our group of 70 was able to easily book a room or cottage how they wanted. Several had many favorite staff by the end of the trip.
From hiring vendors to the in house staff everything was more than we imagined.
Margaritaville Resort Orlando is the most amazing wedding venue! My fiancé and I got married here on January 23, 2021. We fell in love with this venue right away, as soon as you step into Margaritaville you are transported to paradise, The smell of Mother Ocean is sprayed in the lobby, the margarita glasses hanging from the ceiling producing light, and the amazing beach like atmosphere is breathtaking. We worked with Kasey who is a dream and was there every step of the way, I couldn't have asked for a better planner to help me make this day more magical. My wedding photographer was able to take effortlessly beautiful photos because the property is so gorgeous. I would defiantly recommend looking into this venue before making any decisions. We love Margaritaville Resort Orlando !!!
Our wedding at Margaritaville Resort Orlando was beyond our wildest dreams!!! Kasey was such an incredible coordinator, she always made us feel like a top priority and answered all of our questions, no matter how small! The event staff also did such an incredible job making sure our wedding went off without a hitch. I would recommend this venue to ANYONE looking to have a fun, safe, atmosphere. Even with COVID-19 happening, MRO was careful to follow all guidelines put in place and thanks to them we were able to have the wedding of our dreams! Thank you for everything!!
Margaritaville is an extremely beautiful location and was always our first choice for our wedding venue. What put this venue over the top includes the affordability, prompt feedback and service. Kasey is able to accommodate any request you may have. I recommend this venue to any newly engaged couple who likes the tropical feel, amazing menu choices and open bar. Kasey is able to make planning a wedding feel easy and assuring. We highly recommend this venue!
My wedding was a dream come true! Not only is the resort beautiful, but Kasey is a wedding rockstar! She helped plan our wedding in two months during a pandemic. It ended up raining on the day of our wedding, but Kasey thought of a creative way to keep my ceremony outdoors and covered. The pictures were amazing! During the reception, the staff was so attentive and helpful. They even took good care of us at the pool the following day! We truly had the best experience at Margaritaville! I will be recommending this venue to all of my friends!
This resort truly saved the day for my couple! They had been displaced by a venue closing and then with their venue not being reopened after the covid shut down. Not only did the resort save the day and give them a spectacular location, but matched their original pricing. The best part, this resort was much more my couples style. It was just perfect for them. They had an amazing day and everything was just perfect!!
We are so happy we chose to get married at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. It is a beautiful place and the staff are top notch. We were assigned a wedding planner (Kasey Bussell) who helped with everything. I kind of expected the planner Margaritaville assigned for us to limit help to just resort related items, but she guided me through all of the steps for the big day (she suggested DJ's, helped us pick our officiant, get our marriage license, among several other things!). A handful of our guests have special dietary needs and Kasey and the chef had everything handled. The plates all looked beautiful and tasted just as good as they looked. Of course Covid changed our wedding but Kasey was in constant communication with us. Sometimes it was even multiple times in a week! We ended up having a much smaller wedding than first planned and Margaritaville Resort Orlando was very accommodating throughout the entire experience. Everyone who joined us stayed at the resort and they also enjoyed every moment of it! We spent a lot of time at the pool. The pool staff were so friendly and we loved our pool side cabanas! It was truly an amazing experience and now we are looking forward to renewing our vows at the wedding we originally planned (next year at Margaritaville Resort Orlando of course)!
The resort is absolutely beautiful with the Key West vibe. The staff is amazing and extremely accommodating. We just attended the Grand Tasting Event, which is included in the contract, to sample the various hors d'oeuvres and entrees. We felt extremely pampered! There was attention to presentation of each dish, and the selections were delicious. We cannot wait until our April wedding.
My wedding was beautiful. Thankful to Kasey and her team for taking care of every detail. The food was delicious, my appreciation to the kitchen staff and the waiters so helpful and friendly. The pastry, Catharina, very creative, thanks for my cake. Everyone loved the bartender, Christian, for his good humor and careful attention. We are very pleased. thanks everyone!
We held our wedding on Feb 22, 2020 at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. This ended up being the perfect place for a wedding. The wedding was held on the event lawn with the cocktail hour outdoors. The weather was beautiful and the wedding was at 5:00 so we got amazing sunset pictures. The reception was held indoors in the Rose Compass Ballroom. We had Surf and Turf that was absolutely delicious, the guests raved about the food and service. It is hard to get the meals all perfect for a party of 110 but they managed to do that. What is really great about this place is most of the guests stayed in the cottages on the property so when all festivities were over they could just walk back to their cottage or hotel room. We also held the rehearsal dinner. I would highly recommend this place for all events. As an added bonus it is about 2 miles to the Animal Kingdom. Most of the guests that came to the wedding also enjoyed a day or two at Disney!
Margaritaville was the most incredible place for us to get married! Trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic was not easy. 35 days before our wedding day, our other venue fell through. In those 35 days, Kasey and the whole staff were nothing but incredible! They did anything and everything we needed before and while we were there. The location was stunning and everything was perfect. Absolutely get married here!
We had our wedding here in October of 2019. We were one of the first weddings to take place at the resort and everything was great! Our planner Sonja was always on top of everything and always made sure every detail was taken care of! Definitely a great spot if you are looking for that key west vibe.
