Mark Ficks

I consider us lucky for having found Mark Ficks to be our music man for our wedding and reception. On a beautiful late summer day, my fiance' and I had found our wedding + reception venue and we considered it a success. To celebrate, we took a leisurely drive around SW Michigan and stopped at whatever local breweries and wineries were along the way. Mark Ficks was at one of these locations, singing songs and playing his guitar under a four-post tent with his dad playing drums. He had the repertoire of songs we enjoy and he had a way with the crowd (who got up and danced on the open grass). We decided then and there that Mark Ficks was our music man for our wedding. Full disclosure, we did research other local popular wedding bands but they sounded too produced and just "too much." I reached out to Mark Ficks asking if he'd consider playing at our wedding and was delighted that he said "yes." He was wonderful to work with and I appreciated how enthusiastic and grateful he was to be our guy. We were also happy to find how affordable he was. As our wedding date neared we kept in close contact and on the wedding day he was setting up at the venue before I even arrived on scene. Mark Ficks played guitar for our ceremony + cocktail hour and then 3 other musicians joined him for our reception (bass, keyboard and drums). These 3 guys were just as excellent as Mark Ficks. For the ceremony, one of my friends sang a song and Mark accompanied her on guitar. It was just beautiful and he was stoked to do it! One of the things I really appreciated was his help choosing our songs for the ceremony. Because of his experience he helped us pick the songs he could play that would befit the mood we wanted at the ceremony. And then he and his band jammed out during our reception and it was a blast! The line-up he chose from ceremony-to-cocktail hour-to-reception was so great that he sent me the playlist so I could keep it in my memory box and recreate it. I would hire Mark Ficks all over again and not change a thing. And he's not just a wedding singer. If I needed to hire a band for any event, I would ask Mark to lead it. He just enjoys singing and play guitar and it shows!

Mark and his band did an amazing job. They were fun, professional, had a large variety of music and just super nice. We could have asked for a better band.

Mark was absolutely fabulous! We received so many compliments from guests about how wonderful he was. He was professional, timely and is extremely talented. He listed to all of our requests and helped make our ceremony perfect. I would highly recommend Mark to anyone looking for music for their big day!

While sipping wine at 12 Corners, we heard Mark Ficks for the first time. His music was beautiful, and we knew we wanted him to be a part of our wedding. In our original plan, Mark was going to play acoustically on a patio for our small wedding reception. As our wedding plans evolved, our vision and venue changed. Instead of a small patio reception, our wedding turned into a larger, barn wedding. Mark was extremely flexible about the change in plans and asked his band to accompany him. He quoted us a fair price for the evening and even volunteered to help us find a local violinist for the ceremony. From start to finish, Mark was responsive, enthusiastic, and went above and beyond to make our wedding a dreams come true. He met us at the venue a few months before the wedding so he could get a lay of the land, learned a handful of special songs we requested, allowed the minister to use his mic for the ceremony, and overall made sure the day was one we would never forget. We are grateful we found Mark and his band. 4 months later, people still rave about the awesome music. We would, and do, recommend Mark's talent to anyone looking for an acoustic singer or full band.
