I can't say enough amazing things about Paula and her team! From the moment we met her, everything about our wedding planning experience was seamless, stress-free, and enjoyable. Paula is an absolute pro—organized, detail-oriented, and always ahead of the game.
What really sets Paula apart, though, is how easy she is to talk to. She listens, understands exactly what you want, and then brings those dreams to life in ways that exceed expectations. We had a lot of special requests, and she handled everything with such grace and enthusiasm, always offering the best advice and creative solutions.
Our vendors absolutely loved working with Paula—she’s clearly well-respected in the industry, and that made everything run smoothly. It felt like we were all on the same page, and that made the whole planning process feel like a collaborative, enjoyable experience rather than a stressful one.
On the big day, Paula and her team were worth their weight in gold. Everything was executed perfectly, from the timeline to the tiniest details, and I could genuinely relax and enjoy every moment because I knew Paula had it all under control. After booking most of our vendors myself, I realized I would need assistance in planning the remaining details and coordinating everyone involved with my wedding. I reached out to Paula and was immediately excited to work with her! Both her and Lisa were warm, reassuring, and professional the entire lead up to the wedding - I felt that I was truly in good hands! They both had so many ideas on how to make our wedding personal and special and totally understood my design vision. I also appreciated how they always made sure we were getting our best value from our venue and vendors and spending our money where it counted. On the wedding day, both Paula and Lisa were there for us coordinating all of the vendors, setting up our gorgeous reception room, and solving last minute challenges. I am beyond thankful that I found the Marrero events team and do not know what I would have done without them! I would happily recommend Marrero events to anyone I know getting married in the Boston area!
Paula and her planners took such great care in planning our wedding. We had selected the majority of our vendors when we realized we needed a planner to make it all come together. Paula's confidence and competence took away all of my anxieties so I could enjoy the excitement. She was not afraid to stick up for our best interests and knew all of the tricks and tips to ensure we got the most of our venue, catering options, music, lighting - all of it. On the day of, she and her team ensured everything went smoothly. Could not recommend hiring Marrero Events enough to plan your wedding !
Paula and her team did superb job throughout the process. We decided to hold the event at our home. She walked us through the process upfront including the pros and cons. She presented experienced, professional vendors for my wife and daughter to select. She made multiple visits to our home, as needed, and throughout the process. She told us that it was her prime objective to make sure we did not have to worry about any detail on the day of the wedding. She was true to her word. She earned the ultimate seal of approval from my daughter, the bride, when at the end of the evening she remarked to me “best day of my life”. For a Dad, the best thing one can hear, and due in no small part, to the incredibly hard work of Paula and her team.
Paula was an absolute godsend for our big day. She managed expectations with us for about a year leading up to our event, coordinated all of the vendor relationships, and recommended great vendors for us. We had snags with the venue and Paula was on top of everything to keep them accountable and make sure everything would go smoothly. My wife and I are type-A people and Paula allowed us to relax and not feel nervous. Would recommend her and her team to anyone!
We knew we would be in good hands with Paula and team from the first conversation. Paula, Alison, and Lisa were all incredibly professional and knew how to make things happen - in the smartest and most cost effective ways - but also were just plain fun to plan with. They completely understood and internalized the vibe of the day that we wanted to create and helped execute a day that was more special and true to our hopes that we could ever have wished for. Paula is absolutely incredible at everything she does and is such a dream to work with. We would not have made through the wedding planning process without her. Our original date was in October 2020, which obviously wasn't feasible. She helped guide us through the tumult of changing our date, rebooking our vendors, and managing the guest list, among the many, many other things that go along with rescheduling a wedding. Paula was always available as soon as we needed anything, and was amazing at navigating some admittedly tricky family dynamics. She is exceptionally organized and professional, and is one of the warmest, kindest humans you will ever meet. Our entire wedding party and both families all fell in love with her. She also has amazing vendor recommendations and connections, so you won't go wrong with any of her suggestions. Simply put, Paula is the best and will make planning your wedding as stress-free as possible and a truly great experience.
From the moment I first spoke with Paula Marrero I knew that she would be a perfect fit for my daughter and me. As I was thinking about all of the aspects of my daughter’s wedding that needed to be coordinated; everything from to out of town guests, the need for bus transportation for 200+ people and the rest, I was becoming anxious. Paula very calmly and patiently told me that my job was to let go. This was difficult for me to do as I am a former event planner myself. She stated that my role was to sit back, relax and enjoy watching my daughter get married and have the best day of her life. That is exactly what Paula allowed me to do!
With Paula and her staff, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Paula and her staff’s knowledge of the industry and connections made the planning of the wedding seamless. Her recommendations for choice of vendors were spot on. I knew that we had chosen the right planner because everyone in the industry with whom we spoke in the greater Boston area knew and respected Paula. Paula “took the reins” without hesitation and was not hesitant to jump right in if we hit a bump in the road due to this crazy pandemic.
From the minute we hired her to the moment the reception ended our job was to just enjoy ourselves and that is what we did. My daughter’s wedding was beautiful and something I and my family will remember for a lifetime. The entire process was made so much easier because of the knowledge, talent and creativity of Paula and her staff. Now my daughter and I consider Paula to be part of our family!

Paula was absolutely wonderful to work with. We had to postpone our original 2020 wedding date and during such a difficult time for everyone, she made it seamless. When our 2021 wedding came around she again took care of every detail and ensured everything was just as we wanted. I even changed my linen choice 4 days before the wedding and they were there waiting for me :) I can't recommend Paula enough. All of guests even commented on how well run our wedding day was!
Paula Marrero is the most exceptional outstanding wedding planner one could ever imagine. From spot-on recommendations to having connections, to doing what is right for the wedding party (and the parents of the bride and groom) without pushing unnecessary expenditures, Paula can plan spectacular events. She is well organized, an exceptional communicator, she takes ownership, and has exceptional recommendations. We would give her 10 stars if we could.

We worked with Marrero Events for almost a year leading up to our wedding date. There are so many good things about our experience working with Paula and Alison to possibly be able to enumerate here. Ever since our initial consultation, Paula understood us and our personalities perfectly, and tailored their service to our needs. They handled all of the nitty gritty stuff that we didn't need to know, but gave us full creative control over all the big picture decisions. And in some cases when they could tell we were struggling to make decisions, they helped exactly the right amount to guide us to a decision we were happy about and confident in.
On the day of, the event ran far more smoothly than we could even imagine possible. Due to rain, we unfortunately had to make the decision on the morning of to move the ceremony indoors. Alison made this transition perfectly seamlessly, getting the chairs and DJ and officiant and live streaming and all of our guests all ready indoors; we didn't have to lift a finger. And you would've thought we had been planning this beautiful indoor ceremony for months! It was also unexpectedly cold for a late spring day in Boston, and all of our female guests in dresses would have been freezing, if not for the Marrero Events team driving around town on the morning of to buy thick blankets for all of our guests.
Both in planning and in day-of coordination, Paula and Alison made our wedding day everything we wanted it to be and more. We couldn't be happier or more impressed with their service, and we would 100% recommend them to all couples!
I knew we were in good hands the first time I hired Marrero Events in 2016 so when my other daughter got engaged it was a no brainer. Paula and her team supported us through Covid-19 and moving our wedding date twice. She is a true professional and she is a kind person - the perfect combination in a planner. Paula and her team were absolutely amazing every step of the way!! After changing our wedding plan multiple times due to COVID, we decided to plan a small ceremony in our backyard on September 7th. We couldn’t have made it happen without Paula!
At first I was nervous to take on planning such a big event, but her personality instantly put me at ease. Paula was extremely helpful when finding new vendors, looking at the best ones for our specific needs, and even got the new caterers to recreate our original menu (we had already chosen one at our first venue), down to appetizers! We were also worried about planning a “pandemic wedding,” but Paula was very responsible in that aspect. She made sure that we had regulations in place to keep our guests safe.
She was always there to respond to all my questions (so many emails!) and make my wedding planning as stress free as possible. Our day was incredible! Paula paid attention to every detail, and it all came out beautifully. I wish I had another party to plan so I could work with Paula again, she’s the best!! We are so glad we trusted Marrero Events to plan our big day! Thank you, Paula!!
Paula and her team were a superb choice for our wedding celebration and really pulled through to bring my vision to life! I am definitely a bride that focuses on the details and they made sure that each detail was delivered on! Isabelle was great with helping coordinate transportation logistics that can always be tricky and Edwin... there is nothing else to say other than A+ rockstar - he was there with me the entire day, always cool, calm & collected. Paula is clearly an experienced professional with many years under her belt! She knows how to take control, give direction and get the job done! It is clear other vendors respect her and her craft. Paula has assembled an A team all around, from both the staff to also the top notch vendors she works with. I know that my dream wedding would not have come to life if Paula's attention to detail was not overseeing and I am very thankful for that!
What can I say. Plain and simple our wedding could not have been possible without Paula and her team. My husband and I knew we needed help to make our special day happen, but I was also nervous about how to find a planner. I didnt want to find someone to help us who would just in a way add more stress and pressure to the process. By fate a family friend suggested Paula and we subsequently discovered how well we meshed. Paula is kind, efficient, and just a beautiful soul all around. She kept us on track, was there for advice, and made the process very easy, all while assuring us not to worry or stress, and keeping us excited for our big day. There were many times when I would panic and feel loads of anxiety, only to talk with Paula and leave the conversation relieved and assured everything was going as it should be. In the end our wedding was everything we could have every imagined. There was nothing left unthought of and Paula and her team, along with the other vendors left 0 worries for us. My husband and I were joking that we never felt so VIP and special in our lives. We cant recommend Paula enough!
Paula Marrero and the entire Marrero Event team are true professionals in every sense of the word. As the Mother of the Bride of an only daughter, I wanted to enjoy every moment of the wedding day and not spend it managing vendors and all the details. Paula and her team were instrumental in ensuring that everything was as near perfect as possible! Paula is lovely to work with as she listens before offering her sage advice and then will look for the solution until the issue is resolved. Paula’s relationships with vendors is stellar and she is able to navigate through situations with the greatest of ease! The wedding celebration was simply divine and our guests and most importantly, the bride and groom, enjoyed themselves thoroughly! We are still talking about it a month later! We are thankful and grateful to Paula and her team.
We are so thankful to Paula & Team for bringing our wedding to life! We especially appreciated her strong relationships with so many vendors in the area - there are endless choices in Boston when it comes to florists, band, photography, etc. and Paula steered us in the right direction for everything! Despite the logistics of a city wedding, my family and I were able to truly soak in every moment of our wedding weekend because Paula & team had it under control. Our wedding was more than we could have dreamed of and Marrero Events made it happen!
When my now-wife told me that she wanted to hire a wedding planner, my first thought was “what the hell do we need that for?” If you find that you are asking yourself that question, trust me, you need a wedding planner.
Once you recognize that you need a planner, make the right choice and hire Paula and Marrero Events.
First, Paula and her team take care of the unavoidable issues that will come up. I forgot my tux shirt and cuff links in the bride’s room – no problem. After arriving at the venue, we realized that we left the marriage license at her parent’s house – no problem. We got to the venue and noticed that the dance floor was a fraction of the size that it should have been – again, no problem. Every item that arose on the day of our wedding, Paula and her team took care of, allowing my wife and me to enjoy the moment and the party that we took a year putting together.
Second, Paula takes the time to get to know you and your spouse-to-be. She understands that there are different personalities coming into the equation, along with different traditions and cultures. She takes your vision as her own and helps you put together YOUR wedding, not A wedding.
Third, and I cannot stress this enough, she got my wife (who has the quintessential Type-A personality) to relax. I don’t care how laid back and relaxed a couple you are – everybody is going to feel stress leading up to the wedding. Leading up to our wedding, Paula forced my wife and her mother to relinquish control of certain projects. Both of them thanked her for doing so.
Paula and her team are willing to take the weight and stress of the wedding planning process completely off of your shoulders. And she will do so for an exceptionally fair price.

If you’re even considering a wedding planner, look no further! Words cannot even describe Paula and her team. The level of professionalism they exemplify is rare and I am so sad to have ended our planning process because I enjoyed it so much (Not many people can say that). Not only did Paula and her team make the process SO easy but by my wedding week, everyone was truly concerned that I wasn’t stressed out. Why be stressed when you have complete confidence that your wedding planner will execute your vision perfectly. Paula was the very best support, inner voice and guide throughout this special, yet potentially overwhelming process. The moment we first spoke on the phone two years ago, I knew we were going to work well together as she is a very knowledgeable, confident and a genuinely caring person. Paula and her team worked endlessly to make sure everything goes smoothly and because they are so organized; we always talk about plan As and plan Bs to plan ahead for things. FINALLY, what other wedding planner is willing to corset two white wedding dresses in 5 minutes and help with 4 total outfit changes in 1 day. I need not say more…you will not be disappointed with Marrero Events, I have truly gained a friend throughout the process and am so happy with the outcome so I am confident you will be as well. With the help and expertise of Paula Marrero, I achieved my goal as the Mother of the Bride. I wanted my daughter and her future husband to have the most spectacular wedding day with everything they wanted. It was evident throughout the weekend of their wedding that they were both extremely pleased.
I know this is what Paula does every day, but she treated us like we were the most important wedding she had ever done. She was also very patient with our need for perfection.
Throughout the process, her attention to detail, ideas and advice were priceless! Everything went off without a hitch. We could not have had a better Wedding Planner. Paula not only knows how to direct her clients through the process, but she is a blessing the day of the wedding. She is calm, collected, professional and knowledgeable. In a word....perfect!
I especially loved the vendors that Paula recommended. They were all terrific! The flowers were spectacular. The photographer and videographer captured absolutely everything we wanted. She has relationships with so many venues and vendors. That alone is priceless!
The final month was hectic with all of our last minute hotel room changes. Paula handled everything with such grace and professionalism.

Paula Marrero and her associates at Marrero Events lead the planning efforts for our wedding, which occurred at the Liberty Hotel in the Beacon Hill section of Boston, MA in August 2018. Based on our experience, I can state without reservations that Paula communicates a compelling vision, and is committed to meeting the expectations of the bride and groom. Overall, Paula has a highly developed wedding industry acumen and (very importantly) the soft skills required to foster collaboration with the bride, groom, vendors, and all associated wedding parties. In general, Paula Marrero and her associates at Marrero Events exceeded our expectations with their enduring enthusiasm, creativity, teamwork, flexibility, leadership, organization, initiative, motivation, integrity and accountability. If we have another event, we will certainly seek Paula Marrero’s expertise!

Paula and Isabelle were instrumental to the planning and successful execution of our wedding. From weekly phone calls to patiently responding to our worried emails at all hours, solving last minute problems (like when we realized a day before the wedding that we couldn’t use real candles) to thoughtfully corresponding with our vendors, Paula and Isabelle truly did it all. After choosing our venue, a small rental hall, we realized that we really had no idea how to plan a wedding on our own. Paula and Isabelle went above and beyond to make sure that we knew what we were doing and what we needed to accomplish week by week. Our venue presented its own set of challenges, as its small size and unique combination of indoor and outdoor space really put Paula and Isabelle’s creativity to the test- but they passed with flying colors! They were incredibly patient with us, a detail-oriented/nervous bride and a laid-back groom. The best way to describe it is that we felt like we had two fairy godmothers who seamlessly executed every detail of our wedding while we simply enjoyed our day together (down to the tiny details like Paula fixing the groom’s boutonniere just minutes before he walked into the church). We are so grateful to Paula and Isabelle for everything they did for us, and we highly recommend them to anyone who is seeking coordinators who are passionate, creative, thoughtful and patient throughout the wedding planning process.
Where to even begin! My husband and I spent hours researching venues from out of state and had more questions then answers! We called Paula thinking we were just going to ask some questions and continue on our searching! From the first 5 minutes of the call we knew we had to work with her. She answered all of our MILLIONS of questions and we felt like we had been talking with a friend we had known for years!
Paula made the best connections for us and our vendors, she was spot on with her recommendations and knew the types of vendors we would want to work with! Her staff is also amazingly professional and are all super quick to answer questions -- again we had a lot - and help us research anything we needed more information on!
We got married on one of the Boston Harbor Islands, which took quite a bit of logistics. I never felt an ounce of stress throughout the entire process because I had full confidence in Paula and her team. It was amazing to have them there on the day of because I could completely relax and take in all of the special moments of the day! And again, it felt like having a trusted friend by my side through the whole thing!
Hire Paula if you want to get the most out of your wedding day and the process leading up. She knows exactly what you need to get you from your clueless days of combing wedding websites to walking down the isle of your dream wedding! You will not regret anything about working with Marrero Events!
Having been a bridesmaid at least a dozen times, I knew that one of the most important things I wanted at my wedding was to be able to spend time with my family and friends who would be traveling from all over the country. Having Paula at our wedding made the whole day seem easier, more organized, and I didn't have to deal with a thing. I heard from many guests that Paula's team was gracious and attentive to their needs, going above and beyond their responsibility. I cannot recommend Paula enough.
Concern number one: My husband and I live outside of the state where our wedding was to be held.
Concern number two: We both work full time and travel extensively for our jobs.
Concern number three: Neither of us are the type who wanted to spend countless hours researching, returning emails and phone calls, answering a million questions about our wedding planning.
SOLUTION: Enter Paula Marrero and the Marrero Events team. I immediately felt relieved and comforted the very first time I spoke with Paula and completely put our trust in her from day one. My husband and I learned there is just so much involved in planning a wedding, even for someone like me who is familiar with planning and managing events. A wedding is just different. Enter Paula, and the Marrero Events Team.
I was new to Boston, needed suppliers, and someone to tell me what we needed and most importantly what to do.
Enter Paula. Paula is a real Pro. The wedding took just four months to plan, and Paula swooped down and saved my sanity. I can honestly say, I just let her take charge and enjoy the day and the party. I can't thank her enough. Everything went off like clockwork, and everyone said it was one of the best weddings they have ever been! So if you want to be confident of having a successful wedding day--Marrero Events should be your first call. They are worth their weight in gold.
Like another reviewer said, hiring Paula Marrero and the whole Marrero Events team was hands down the BEST decision we made in our wedding planning process. I truly don't know where to begin in expressing our gratitude for Paula and her team as our wedding would not have been complete without them. Paula made our wedding day so much more than we ever could have dreamed (it was absolutely perfect) and we feel so fortunate that we were able to work with her in planning the biggest day of our lives.
I knew I wanted Paula to be our planner from the moment I got on the phone with her (she is so kind, understanding, easy to talk to, I could go on and on about how wonderful of a person she is), but I never realized how truly instrumental she would be. Our wedding planning brought so much stress - from family dynamics, to vendor issues, to overall logistical challenges. Paula helped us navigate all of these, listened to us every step of the way, was our biggest advocate, and relieved all of our worries. She has incredible connections in the wedding industry and was able to put together a team of the best vendors, advised us on what we needed and didn't need, coordinated a seamless day-of timeline, and answered every single question we had and those we didn't even think to ask. She made time for all of my emails and phone calls, and made us feel like we were the only couple she was working with.
Behind Paula is also an incredible team. Everyone that we worked with at Marrero Events was so responsive and if you need anything, they are there to help you. I was very hands-on and controlling when it came to wedding planning, and one of the most valuable things Paula and her team brought to our wedding was reliability. I trusted Marrero Events completely and was able to leave everything in their hands with no hesitation. I was totally relaxed on wedding day, enjoyed every single moment with my new husband, and never had to worry about any issue (large or small) that may have popped up on wedding day, and that is without a doubt due to Paula and her team. We are so unbelievably grateful that Paula became our "wedding mom" and made our day absolutely perfect!
Hiring Paula was the best decision we made in planning our wedding. We had a hard-to-work-with situation where we lived across the country from the location of the wedding, and also only started planning with about 4 months of time before our wedding date. Paula took care of *everything* - not only did the entire event run completely smoothly, sight unseen, but we were blown away by every single vendor she suggested. From the venue itself to the caterer to the band to even the wedding cake, we got so many specific compliments and questions about how we found X or Y vendor from our guests well into the next month after our wedding was over. We could have counted one or two outstanding vendors as lucky, but when they were so consistently stellar across the board, it was so obvious that it was thanks to Paula's expertise and experience... there is absolutely no way we could have planned a wedding even half as good as this by ourselves. Paula walked us through every detail, handled every outside interaction, responded to every question and even anticipated so many that we didn't even know to ask... our guests wouldn't stop telling us how much fun they had at our wedding, but we think the two of us somehow were able to have the most fun of anyone there. ;) We still cannot believe just how perfect we truly felt the wedding turned out - you definitely won't regret hiring Paula for yours!
Paula and her team were lifesavers and I can't recommend them highly enough! It was during our food tasting with our caterer when we were asked if we considered a wedding coordinator. Up to that point, we hadn't but we could see the value of having someone on site the day of our wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly so we quickly did some research. We interviewed four planners and after our first call with Paula, we knew she was the one we wanted to work with. She stood out heads and shoulders above the others and we clicked with her instantly on the phone. Throughout the process, she was so organized, reassuring and willing to help with every little detail. She has tons of connections in the industry and was always able to make excellent suggestions or recommendations when asked. On the day of our wedding, we were able to enjoy it worry free because we knew we had the A team running point on the details. We loved our wedding and we largely attribute it to Paula and team. We hired Marrero Weddings and Events as the planners for our daughter's wedding and they were terrific. Paula and her staff were the opposite of pushy - they gently guided us through the whole process of planning our wedding and only stepped in to take over when we wanted them to. Every vendor they recommended was absolutely superb, and for the few vendors we picked on our own, they worked with them seamlessly. They were extremely responsive to our emails and helped us with everything from finding a spot for the rehearsal dinner that could accommodate our big families to figuring out how to get our dog to the venue so he could walk down the aisle! She not only managed virtually every logistical aspect of the event, but she helped hugely in navigating the emotional and psychological rollercoaster surrounding the planning of a wedding, and exponentially reduced the overall stress level.
Paula is also one of the hardest working, and most professional people I've ever done business with. She was chief advocate, coordinator, negotiator, friend, and shrink all rolled into one! One doesn't fully grasp the magnitude of the multi-faceted coordination and attention to detail involved in planning a successful wedding, until you're in it. We were so grateful to have had Paula's years of knowledge and expertise guiding us, especially since there are no do-overs with a wedding! Plus, she knows just about everything there is to know about finding the best vendors that match one's style and budget. Every one she had us work with was perfectly suited. She completely understood my daughter and her husband's vision, was super responsive and very flexible. She allowed those of us involved with the planning to breath much easier. The proof is in the pudding, and all our guests said it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to, even weeks after the event. Paula helped us to plan an absolutely magical wedding! Paula Marrero makes the magic happen. She begins with an amazing network of connections and she will work with you to make sure your experience with each vendor is the absolute best. We had a number of things lined up before we hired Paula but we felt secure in all of our decisions because Paula was always honest about whom you could count on for what. Would the band overwhelm our 130-person wedding (‘absolutely not”); would the photographer be worth the money (“1000%”)? All true. By the time late fall rolled around, all of our vendors were secured and three months out Paula (and Isabelle) kicked into high gear. Every meeting was a run-through of the big day, but the goal was never to put pressure on us; it was more to firm up the design of the day, put a handful of priority items on our to-do list, and move on. I never felt I had to keep the whole project, or the big picture, in my head. That was in Paula’s job and in her head. And little by little things just got done. As amazing as all this was, I can’t say enough about Paula’s “day of” handling of the wedding -- her quiet command of every detail, her spectacular, loving care for my daughter, her thoughtfulness about my elderly mother-in-law, her sensitive family management skills, her astonishing energy level from morning to night. She seemed to be everywhere at once – but she was QUIETLY ubiquitous. The only bad part? Saying good-bye at the end. A number of my friends were surprised that I hired a wedding planner. I’m very organized and can-do. But it was the best investment we made. It took the burden out of the work. It allowed me and my daughter to have fun together. So it wasn’t just the wedding that was amazing – and it truly was a beautiful, magical wedding – but the lead-up to it was actually also wonderful. It doesn’t get better than that.

As the mother of a very busy bride, I was overwhelmed initially with all of the details involved with hosting a wedding at Elm Bank in Wellesley. While the venue itself is stunning, hosting an event there means contracting with outside vendors for every aspect of the affair. How lucky we were that the event manager suggested we contact Paula. She had coordinated many events at this venue in the past, and we were told she'd be perfect to help with my daughter's wedding. From the first meeting we saw that Paula knew every detail that had to be considered, and she was thorough in gathering information from the bride and groom to understand their vision of the event. Every vendor she recommended was a great fit- professional, talented, and a pleasure to work with-in fact, it was necessary only to visit with the first vendor in each category to make our selection. As the wedding day approached, Paula was methodical in our weekly phone conferences, going through a timeline which involved every aspect of the event from the day before to the day after the wedding. Speaking with other mothers who bemoaned all the details, schedule mishaps, etc, I found myself frequently silently thanking Paula for her guidance. The end result of her hard work was a "magical" wedding (as noted by many of the guests), with fantastic coordination of the transportation, entertainers, caterers, florist, etc to make the bride and groom's vision come true. And, equally important, the bride and her mother (Type A+ people who at times were impatient with slight delays in returned emails), were absolutely calm and thoroughly enjoyed the event, while our event planner, and truly our cherished friend now, saw to it that the affair was simply perfect.

Paula and her team made our wedding day absolutely magical! We had high expectations after she helped plan my sister's wedding the previous year, and she absolutely delivered. In particular, she helped manage (and think of!) the decor details that made it spectacular (we were literally wowed walking into the tent), and handled all the details of wrangling different vendors. Day-of, I was fully at peace knowing that everything would be covered, and she shielded me from all the last minute hassles (of which I'm sure there are always some). As the MOB, finding Paula was the best gift I could have given myself! Paula is a marvelous master of ceremonies! Immediately upon initial contact, we had established a fantastic professional --and personal-- rapport [that is in fact continuing to this day]. She and her team are remarkably organized and efficient - from the outset to the dirty details. Our wedding, held at the Liberty Hotel in Boston, would not have been the fabulous affair it was if it were not for Paula. She really knows her craft, and helped us facilitate many of the details we would not have even considered on our own.

I'm not a wedding girl. I love weddings and love and the commitment of it all but let's just say I'm not the girl that secretly planned her wedding since I was 10. I got engaged in August 2014 and after all the initial excitement I realized how behind the curve I was in planning what I'm told should be a dream day. My father recommended hiring a wedding coordinator and I figured why not at least check it out?
It was like Paula and her team knew what we would want before we did but - and this is key - she never said as much. Paula may have opinions about what is best - and she'll share them and make recommendations - but in the end she is very respectful that all decisions are ultimately the couple's to make.
She also has amazing contacts and I highly recommend you rely on her expertise when it comes to vendor selection. We gave Paula our overall budget and, in listening closely to what was important to us, she chose vendors who fell within our budget. One example of this is that I was OBSESSED with talking about the flowers and the feel of the wedding. For whatever reason the flowers were how I was able to express how I envisioned the wedding day to be. She therefore allotted a good portion of the budget towards floral design. She also listened to the fact that, for me, discussing lighting options (uplighting, downlighting, mood lighting) made me want to fall sleep. So she just handled it for us. She talked with the DJ and that was that. We never had to think about it. But come wedding day I had the minimum amount of uplighting to create the maximum classy, candlelit feeling she knew I would want.
If your on the fence about hiring a wedding coordinator, just do it. Whatever money you spend you will save in aggravation and second-guessing. Consider it a present to you and your future spouse so that you can just focus on being happy and loving each other while Paula and her wonderful team handle the irritating, stressful, boring, and/or sensitive details.
Paula Marrero is a wedding planner extraordinaire. She has many years of experience, which makes her guidance both practical and balanced, as well as gave us access to other wonderful vendors. She is direct and candid with her advice, which when you're planning a potentially stressful event, is indepensible. Where to begin with how amazing Marrero Events was!?
If I had to break it down there were really three thing: Excellent Vendor Sourcing and Coordination, Day of Magic and EQ (Emotional Quotient)
Working with Courtney, she took into consideration our budgets (of course) when recommending vendors, but also our personalities. For example, my husband is generally shy and hates having his photo taken. Courtney made sure to recommend someone who offered everything we wanted and who was also that very calm and unobtrusive to fit my husband's dislike of pictures. When I first met with her recommended florist, the florist began to almost read my mind when I described what I wanted. She tracked down every single detail, and made sure that everything seemed to appear on time like clockwork. Keep in mind on this front, that Courtney worked with my husband to plan our rehearsal dinner and rehearsal dinner vendors at no additional charge to the wedding planning package we purchased.
For the day of my wedding, it was literally like Disney magic. Everywhere I went, everyone I talked to, flowers magically appeared, vendors arrived and went and I didn't need to know about anything that happened. I had someone fall sick during my wedding, someone fall down stairs at my wedding and I never had to know. Courtney magic'd it away. She also made sure that every piece of the wedding timeline was like clockwork. When that crazy aunt latched on to me and toasts had to happen soon, Courtney appeared from nowhere, managed that aunt everybody has and I was able to escape to do what I needed to do :) My brother said that watching Courtney manage people sternly but politely was like watching a star running back weave through defense to the end line. Long story short, I didn't have to do anything but enjoy my day! And let's be real, that's all a girl wants on her wedding day.
Lastly, it's really important to note those intangible things that Courtney brought to the process. She navigated difficult family situations, and helped advise me on what to do. I was the first person I knew to get married, and Courtney really helped coach me through the process. And most of all, she encouraged me to sit down and think about myself. You'll find that can be really difficult during the wedding planning process, but she really made sure that when I looked back on my wedding day I saw all the little pops of my own personality she encouraged me to incorporate. She really challenged me to be thoughtful about my big day, and I appreciate that most of all!
All in all, if you are looking to hire Courtney or Paula for your event, I really can't say enough great things about them and their team. Absolutely the best choice I made in my wedding planning process!
We absolutely loved working with Paula. From the first conversation, to the package of food from the reception that she left in our room the night of the wedding, every interaction was a pleasure. She managed difficult family situations, bride stress, and helped us find budget friendly vendors. She helped us get creative an worked with us on our "out of the box" ideas to give out wedding a unique and personal feel. I loved Paula's personality. She had our best interest first and foremost in her mind. This can easily get lost when there are so many opinions about how the wedding should be. I felt protected from that by Paula. We REALLY miss her!!!! I would give her 10000 starts if I could. I had been referred to Marrerro Events about 3 months before my wedding to help with the last details and the day of schedule, let me just say I wish I had Paula Marrerro and Courtney Graham from day one. Paula and her team are by far the absolute best in the business! She took my ideas of what I wanted and brought them to life ten times over. I honestly can say that without Marrerro Events my wedding would have been a disaster. Paula swooped right in and took over making sure that everything was just as perfect as I envisioned. We highly recommend Courtney at Marrero Events. She handled every detail effectively, with a minimum of fuss. The wedding ran smoothly because of her. She was aware of a million small details that we were not, and she took care of them efficiently. For example, she got the flowers for the wedding party from the florist to both the bridesmaids at the hotel and the groomsmen, some at their houses, some met her at the venue. And we did not have to worry about any of that - you WANT to have someone handle that and the other thousand details so you don't have to.
Courtney was fun to work with and a pleasure to be around. You want to like the person who is helping you with all the details on your wedding day, and she's not only a great person but organized and effective.
Paula and her tam saved my wedding. Just weeks before the wedding we had a major problem and in less than 8 weeks I had to replay our entire wedding from across the country. I found Paula and she instantly became my wedding fairy. She called in all her contacts and was able to get everything re-planned for us. We started over completely, new vendors, new location, new invitations, the only things that didn't change for us were the bride and groom and the church, I would have lot my mind if it weren't for Paula and how calm she was and how organized. Paula is amazing. I was a bride planning a wedding in Boston and living in Salt Lake City. Paula was my eyes and ears for everything. She recommened top notch vendors who made our day so beautiful. Talk about someone who can keep things going and on time particularly with Nigerians who are known to be late to everything. I am so glad we hired her because she made our day exactly how I envisioned it and more. I really miss our scheduled Thursday calls to go over everything now that the wedding is over. Working with Paula was amazing.
