I had the most wonderful experience at Martellen's! They came highly recommended, and I see why! The shop is adorable, and the dresses are beautiful! Karen was so helpful and kind. I ended up finding the perfect dress! I would highly recommend Martellen's! :)

Martellen's was the first shop I visited while searching for my wedding gown, and it was a perfect 10/10 experience! I traveled from the city to meet my mom in the suburbs, and the trip was well worth it. The shop is bright and inviting, with a beautiful selection of gowns from various designers, all in great condition. MaryBeth, the owner, and her team were incredibly warm and welcoming. After sharing a few inspiration photos, MaryBeth picked out the first dress I tried on, and I absolutely fell in love with it! I can't thank Martellen's enough for such a comfortable and memorable experience. Highly recommend!

I purchased my dress from Martellen's per the recommendation of many friends and insight from people online. They made the purchasing experience so much fun. They allowed me to bring a few ladies from my bridal party and we had our own room as I tried on various dresses. The dress I purchased was absolutely stunning and I received so many compliments! I also purchased a jean jacket with my last name on it which was perfect for my bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, and pictures on our wedding day. The whole team was so nice and response. I also used the seamstress for my alterations and she was the absolute best! An added perk is they are located in downtown Lemont so every time I went in we made a fun day of it with my bridal party or significant other.

I initially chose this shop because they carried a Maggie Sotero gown that I wanted to try on. I was able to make an appointment and bring a few guests. Karen helped me at this first appointment. She knows what she is doing! She pulled the dress I came in to try and a few others. After watching my reactions, she pulled another Maggie Sotero gown and told me to try it on. It was the one, and Karen knew it before I even knew it. I did not need to try on any other or look at any other shops. Karen styled it by adding a belt, earrings, and a veil. They all looked perfect with the dress, so I did not need to look for accessories. She even had a suggestion for how to bustle the train. Mary Beth and Karen were so kind. Every time I came in to the shop for fittings, they remembered me. I was never actually worried about my dress because I knew it was in good hands. My dress had a very long train, which I wore as is for my ceremony. We were able to alter my dress for the reception so the train was actually hidden underneath, maintaining the dress shape. They also gave me recommendations for preserving my beautiful dress. I highly recommend Martellen’s Bridal.

Karen and the ladies at this beautiful boutique did a marvelous job! Karen helped pull dresses based on my vision, and helped me narrow it down until I found the perfect dress! Everyone was so helpful and easy to work with! Would recommend them in a heartbeat!

I had the absolute best experience at Martellen's! Mary Beth and her team listened to my wedding dress vision and pulled the best dresses for me to try on. I had such a fun day trying on dresses and ended up falling in love with the perfect dress! After saying "yes to the dress", the process of dress ordering and alterations was seamless and very easy! Everything was clearly communicated to me and arrived with plenty of time prior to my big day. Thank you Martellen's for everything you did to make my wedding dress experience so perfect! This is a fantastic bridal shop. They are nothing but open and honest and truly want what's best for the bride. When they didn't have the dress I thought I wanted close to my size it was hard to tell if I'd actually like it. They called around to other shops and encouraged me to find a place where I could find it. They were able to ship the dress in for me in a closer size to try on before making a decision. They've been super flexible with me and honest. The owner and one of employees both helped me through the process and were so kind and never pushy which I appreciated. Outstanding experience!

I had a perfect experience at Martellens! Karen was an absolutely wonderful stylist. She was so patient and warm. I felt beautiful in every dress I tried on, and each dress she brought be got better, and closer to what I wanted until she found my perfect dress! I’d recommend Martellens to every bride!

Adorable shop with a wonderful selection and nice people. I don't think they could've found a more perfect gown for me. It was unique, within my price range, and I've never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day in it.

After postponing due to COVID, I had some strong doubts about my original wedding dress (which was previously purchased at a different dress shop). It needed lots of alterations, and even then, I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. So I went dress shopping again to find a different dress. After going to nearly every dress shop in West Michigan (some of them twice) and not having any luck, I ended up traveling back to near my hometown in Illinois to dress shop. The consultant that I worked with was so helpful and kind! She listened to what I was envisioning, what I liked, what I didn't like, and she respected my budget by only showing me dresses that were within my range and that would arrive before my July 2022 wedding. I found my dress at Martellens, and they helped me customize it to exactly what I was looking for! They sent me occasional status updates, and also texted me photos when it arrived. They were also able to accommodate my need for dress fitting appointments in the evening, since I drove in from Michigan. I strongly recommend them for purchasing a dress!

Could not recommend this place more! Martellen's is an adorable bridal shop in the little suburb of Lemont. If you're someone who likes a nice atmosphere (because I am), this bridal shop is cute, cozy, relaxing (because dress shopping is fun but can be stressful!), and they have so many beautiful options. I found their pricing to be much more reasonable than a lot of the other dress shops in the Chicago suburbs. The staff were beyond helpful and made the process enjoyable and easy. Karen helped me out and she had so much fun with us, was uplifting, and helped me find my dream dress. They did my altering there as well which was really nice not to have to find another place to do it. Would definitely recommend this place!

The ladies at Martellen’s are absolutely amazing!!! When first trying on dresses the team was so patient, showing me every style of dress until I found the perfect one!! The alterations were beautifully done and the dress fit perfectly- even adding a gorgeous bow on the back of the dress that received so many compliments on our wedding day!! This shop is so great to work with!

I loved working with the team at Martellen's to find my wedding dress and veil! Two of my cousins recommended Martellen's to me because of their positive experiences purchasing their wedding dresses there. I was able to make an appointment the same week I initially called to inquire about availability. Everything about planning a wedding stressed me out, but my experience at Martellen's wasn't stressful at all. I didn't know exactly what kind of dress I wanted, but Missy was wonderful to work with. She really listened to me when I was struggling to articulate what I might be looking for and helped me analyze the different dresses I was trying on to narrow the selection to what I truly wanted. I tried on numerous beautiful dresses in my search. Missy was patient, kind, and calming, and assured me that I didn't need to make a decision in the moment if I wasn't ready yet, that it was ok to sleep on it. Mary Ellen helped me select my veil at a later appointment and was very patient while I struggled to make a decision. I had my dress altered through Martellen's and the seamstress I worked with did a wonderful job. My dress fit perfectly for my wedding and the whole look was everything I hoped it would be. I would highly recommend Martellen's to anyone looking for a great selection of quality dresses and a great in-house seamstress!

I was lucky enough to walk up to Martellen's and have my dress in the window, giving me a major dream-come-true moment, which is something I'll never forget. I had a phenomenal experience at Martellen's. They have a beautiful selection of dresses, individualized customer service, and quality in house alterations.

Martellen’s was recommended to me by a good friend/coworker. I had not gone to any other bridal shops before and definitely didn’t have to after my experience here. The ladies at Martellen's were so helpful as we shopped for our dresses. We came in with an idea of what we both liked, and we both left with dresses that we LOVED! And they made the whole experience so much fun. We wanted to shop together without seeing each other in the dresses, so they helped us alternate coming out of the dressing rooms. When we had our favorite dresses at the end of our appointment, they even helped us come out blindfolded so that our families could see us both in our dresses next to each other!

If you are looking for a bridal gown in the Chicago-land area, I cannot recommend Martellen's enough! The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I had some anxiety about trying on dresses and they took it all away and were incredibly helpful. I got my gown from there and alterations done through their seamstress as well. I cannot recommend them enough!

In short - definitely check out Martellen’s! Maybe get your alterations done elsewhere though. They have beautiful dresses and a wonderful staff. I went dress shopping to three different boutiques in October 2020 for my dress with my mom and two maids of honor during COVID and Martellen's was by far my favorite experience. The team there were all so nice and helpful and they understood my vision so well. They picked all of the dresses because of COVID but they ALL matched my style so well I didn't mind at all. I will say I am a size 12 in wedding dresses and I got a strapless, A-line gown. The one I had tried on in the store was many sizes bigger, so they clipped the back together. There was a small crease at my hips that they told me was inevitable because of my body shape, but it was so unnoticeable that I didn’t care. However, when I got my actual dress delivered and tried it on, the crease went all the way around my entire waist. I do have big hips, but I wasn’t expecting the whole dress to be creased because of my hips. (Measurements: B-36 W-31 H-42) I was a little upset and so I had to make an extra alteration appointment to try and get it fixed. I did my alterations here in-store, and I am not sure if I recommend it. They did eventually fix the majority of the problem by the wedding day so that is good news, but I was just a bit shocked because it looked pretty different from when I had tried it on. So I am still recommending you go, but just be aware that if you have bigger hips, this strapless, A-line style may sit a little differently than you think. My bustle also was in a weird spot on my butt and I wish it was raised to the start of my hips to have more of a smooth transition, but they had pre-hemmed my dress when I had initially ordered it which meant it could only be raised to a certain height. My dress also was really tight around my chest and the clasp popped on my wedding day. I had to spend a lot of time asking bridesmaids to safety-pin it together because with semi-slight movements it would pop again. I would maybe recommend either making it a tad looser or adding in a second silver clasp in alterations. I still wouldn’t have changed anything about buying the dress that I got from this shop, because I really did like the staff and the experience at Martellen’s. Maybe just go somewhere else for alterations and you’ll be good to go!

Beautiful boutique!! I just got my wedding dress from them last weekend. Karen and Mary Ellen were a dream! I had an idea of what I was looking for and a firm price point and boy did they deliver. It was a complete stress free appointment we laughed, we cried, we found the ONE. They listened carefully and thoughtfully to what I wanted and I walked away in a dress I never even thought about and it’s perfect. Thanks again ladies!!

I went into find my dress and like any Bride was nervous/excited. Mary Beth was calm and had a wide selection of styles for me to try on. The 2nd dress I tried on was the one! Thank you for helping me find my dream dress - my groom was so surprised and kept saying how beautiful i was all night. It was perfect

I love Martellen’s!! My sister found her dream dress there last year so I knew I had to go to find mine. We both worked with Missy who is an amazing consultant and truly cares about finding her brides the perfect dress. Off of only a few details I provided of what I liked, she was able to pick winner after winner and I found my dress! The best thing about Martellen’s is how supportive and body positive the staff is. I had emailed ahead of time to make sure there would be samples I, a size 12, would be able to put on my body. My experience was awesome and never at any time did I feel uncomfortable with my body. I appreciate the large selection of sample sizes as well as the compassion and enthusiasm of the consultants! I can’t recommend this salon more.

I could not have asked for a better experience than the one I had while shopping for my wedding dress at Martellens! Mary Beth was amazing to work with from day one. She was patient, kind, and so accommodating. Every employee in the whole boutique had your best interest at heart and would stop what they were doing to share kind words with brides and their families. I cannot recommend Martellens enough! I am so thankful to have had this experience there and to have been able to say yes to the dress!

I found my Sottero & Midgley dress at Martellen's and love it so much. The boutique has a great selection of beautiful gowns, and it also has a very nice selection of mother of the bride/groom gowns. My mom found her dress there, and it is beautiful. When I first when and tried on wedding dresses, the ladies at Martellen's were very helpful and helped me select several beautiful gowns for me to try on. They did not pressure me into purchasing a gown in any way, and they also helped me find a beautiful veil that matches my dress perfectly. Mary Beth was always very friendly and helpful at my fittings, and Mary Ellen is always extremely nice too. I would strongly recommend visiting Martellen's to find your perfect wedding dress!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I was searching for a dress for a few weeks with no luck and was starting to feel defeated. I called Martellens and expressed my frustration and we discussed what I was looking for and how they could help. When I had my appointment, Mary Ellen was so patient and easy to work with. I never felt rushed or pushed into making a decision. The staff and so sweet and I found multiple dresses at this location that fit my style and budget. Go here!!

I have had many friends that bought their wedding dresses from Martellen's and loved it, so I knew that I wanted to check it out for my dress! They have a great selection of dresses in a $1000-2500 budget which was perfect for me. Mary Ellen and the rest of the Martellen's crew were very helpful in the selection process. I am VERY indecisive so it took 3 visits back before I could commit to THE dress (...my family had almost given up on me haha, but Mary Ellen was still as patient as ever!) Alterations also turned out great and even with the most intricate lace, shortening my dress turned out beautifully! Martellen's will go above and beyond for you to make your dress everything you've dreamed and I can barely put into words what this meant for me during wedding planning. I would highly recommend choosing Martellen's for your bridal salon.

Where do I start? Martellan's is THE place to go to, to have the ULTIMATE Bridal experience. I was VERY nervous to start dressing shopping because of my size (I don't have the perfect body) but Mary Beth, made me feel so pretty & comfortable during this process. MY dress is absolutely beautiful, "fits like a glove." The Martellan's girls made this whole process easy for me: from the initial appointment, to my alterations to the pick up/steam date- everything went FLAWLESS. I am sad that I was only able to wear it for one day. OH! I cannot forget about y gorgeous veil- gosh i LOVE everything about this whole experience. Thank you SO much. Can I give Martellan's 100 stars? On my first trip to Martellan's, Melissa was helping me and she was phenomenal. I was timid and unsure of what I wanted, but she quickly and efficiently tried to figure it out with me. I tried on over 13 dresses and ultimately ended up saying yes to one of them. Much to my dismay, it wasnt THE one. I was devastated and worried I'd have to keep that one, and at first it didnt seem promising. Mary Ellen was SO patient and attentive with me as I shared this with her. She immediately contacted the designer's rep to see what could be done. The rep and Mary Ellen made a dream come true and was able to cancel my order in the knick of time before the dress went into production. PHEW! Martellan's welcomed me back for another opportunity to find MY dress. Beth did an amazing job on my second visit to make sure the dresses I was trying on really fit my (newly realized) requirements. She was very patient and attentive.. and I found MY dress, and happily said yes to it! I'm thankful and grateful to the entire team at Martellan's as I recognize I was not the easiest bride to deal with with my indecisive and unsure-ness. Even the other women working in the shop were helping, and it's thanks to the entire team involved on the first and the second visit that I found my dream dress for my dream wedding. 100 stars across the board for staff, dress selection range, quality dress material and as I cant say it enough- impeccable customer service. Of the hundreds upon hundreds of brides they service, during my visit they made me feel like I was the only one that mattered. Thank you Melissa, Beth, and especially Mary Ellen along with the rest of the team. You ladies ROCK and I cant wait for my dress to come in!

Martellen's was amazing. I absolutely loved my dress and the women at the shop were so friendly, flexible, and easy to work with. They had a nice selection of gorgeous dresses in the $1000-$3000 range and the salon itself was very cute and private. I actually ended up buying the first dress I tried on at this shop, just in white as opposed to champagne. From trying on dresses to alterations and final steaming, Martellen's made my dress buying experience absolutely wonderful.

My experience with Martellens was nothing short of amazing. Bonnie was so patient with me during my appointment and all the other ladies there were so kind as well. I found my dream dress with them and could not have been happier. I did all of my alterations with them and each time I came in I always had a personalized visit, was never rushed, and felt like my seamstress made the dress herself. My mom also found her MOB dress at the boutique and was so happy with her outcome. Recommend a million times over!

I loved this shopper and wish I found the “one” but I didn’t. But it was awesome customer service. She didn’t try and oversell me or pressure me into buying. I will definitely come back to look at bridesmaids dresses.

I can not say enough about how great my experience was! I’m not a huge shopper and I don’t enjoy shopping at all. But when I walked into Martellen’s they were so nice and accommodating. I worked with Martellen and she was amazing and very knowledgeable. We went over what my budget and preferences were but I didn’t have anything specific in mind besides that I didn’t want anything too revealing. I had to of tried on maybe 15-20 dresses and she was so helpful and patient. As I tried on the dresses if there was anything I wasn’t sure about as to if I felt is was too revealing or didn’t like the sleeves. She would bring out alternative sleeves or a decorative piece that could be used to make me feel more comfortable. I was able to stay within budget and able to find a dress I have not been able to stop thinking about. Overall, my experience was amazing and I’m so glad I chose Martellen’s, their dresses are absolutely stunning and the staff is very friendly.

I found my dream dress at Martellen's, working with Bonnie was great, she understood what I was looking for, and found many options! She helped me try on each dress I selected, clipping each one so I would get the full effect of the dress. She reached out to me when the dress came in and kept me in the loop throughout the process. She also helped my Maid of Honor and young Flower Girl select their dresses as well. The alternations were perfect and timely. Martellen's was very flexible in having my alterations and my bridal party alterations at the same time!

I had been to a few very disappointing bridal appointments before going to Martellen’s. It was an amazing experience!!! The team really made me feel heard (Karen is amazing!!) Their selection is amazing and they couldn’t have made the process any easier! So happy I found them and ordered my dress with them! You will not be disappointed!

This boutique is a cute little stop in downtown Lemont. The workers are extremely helpful and sweet. I described what I want my dress to look like and they brought out many options. I had a smaller budget for this store, but they were able to find me the perfect dress!!!!!! Loved it here!

I’m a city girl who always dreamed of getting my wedding dress in downtown Chicago. My now sister in law recommended Martellen’s because that’s where she got her dress. I decided to try them out and made the trip. It was a great decision. I had a private appointment on a Sunday where it was just me and my mom and Karen the saleswoman. She found a dress for me that was absolutely perfect! I had no idea what I wanted at the beginning and she helped narrow it down for me. All of my following appointments were just as easy and all of the women that work here are the nicest ever! So if you don’t want to deal with stuck up bridal salons who want to overcharge you, Martellen’s is your best choice!

All the ladies at Martellen's were super friendly and professional. They have a lot of dresses in all sorts of styles. I think I tried on all of them before I made a decision (or pretty close to it) and they were patient with me in this process. I couldn't have been happier with my alterations the dress was absolutely stunning! I would highly recommend you check out this boutique!

I got my dress and veil from Martellen’s and loved my experience with the store! Everybody there was so friendly! I had been to a couple other bridal shops, and they just didn’t have the selection of dresses that Martellen’s had. On my first visit, I was there with my mom and mother in law, and the woman who helped me find my dress was so attentive and listened to what everybody thought. No judgment. I had to go back for 3 fittings for alterations. I didn’t love the seamstress. She ended up taking my dress in too much and they had to do more alterations than we originally thought. If I wasn’t confident in my body (borderline plus size), then she probably would’ve made me feel really self conscious. The ladies in the store though were so kind and worked with my schedule for the multiple fittings. Since I only had to work with the seamstress a couple minutes on each occasion, it didn’t alter my experience with Martellen’s overall.

Purchasing a wedding dress from Martellen's was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. I purchased a dress in January after trying on the sample size in store which fit like a glove. I proceeded to order the dress in the exact same size. I went for my 1st fitting in June with Ruby. When I told her that the armpits were pinned too tight she dismissed my concerns and made negative comments about my body (I'm too tall, my breasts too small). When I returned in July for my 2nd fitting my alterations were incomplete. There were pins in the hips, it had not been taken in. I could barely fit my arms through the holes because the shoulders were unnecessarily brought up (I was told they were cut). The cups were not properly sewn in - they were lopsided and rippling. The straps came off my shoulders and the waist hit in the wrong spot. The clasp in the back was in the wrong spot and created a gaping hole. I was brought a new seamstress, Gina who admitted that the bust had been done all wrong and ripped out the cups. She quickly stitched the hips in so I could see what it was supposed to look like. I left the fitting sobbing with minimal reassurance from the staff. Two weeks later I came for the 3rd fitting. Gina was able to let out the shoulders a small amount so that I could fit my arms through the holes. She fixed the clasp in the back, but the fabric continued to bunch and ripple throughout the back and bust. She re-pinned the bust. A week later I returned. The dress and veil were supposed to be steamed and ready to go... they were not. At this fitting I put the dress on 3 different times for Gina to make alterations. It was too tight in the arms and gaping in the chest. Gina brought Mary Ellen in. After insisting that this is not how the dress was supposed to fit, Mary Ellen fetched the sample dress that I tried on in January. Once she and Gina saw how that was supposed to fit they deemed my dress to be irreversibly damaged. At that point, Gina stated that the bust had been done wrong and admitted to all of Ruby's faults. Mary Ellen said that this dress had been "difficult to alter" and that they "would stop carrying it". She then decided to take in the sides of the bust and hips in the sample; would clean it, and give it to be at a 50% discount. 48 hours later I receive a call from Mary Ellen saying that Gina was wrong - Ruby had not cut the straps on the dress. She decided to go back on her word and wanted to "try again" to alter the dress she had previously referred to as "irreversibly damaged". After refusing to have another failed alteration I insisted they attempt to fit the sample dress. Another 48 hrs pass (ONE week from my wedding) and I again return to try on the altered sample dress. I was given a refund for the alterations and for 50% of the dress. The dress still did not fit properly and gapped at the chest when I sat. I was told to use double sided tape to keep it in place... The worst part of it all was that Mary Ellen continued to imply that this was somehow MY fault. At this point, I decided I never wanted to return to this horrible place, and left the store with my partial refund and a poorly altered discount dress. I do not think anyone at Martellen's appreciates the emotional trauma this caused; in addition the time and money I spent driving from Chicago to Lemont. That night I ordered a dress online from BHLDN - had it express delivered and wore that instead.

I got my wedding dress at Martellen's and was very happy with the Stella York dress I bought as well as the overall dress buying experience. The team was very easy to work with, got to know me and the styles I was interested in and pulled additional options to try on. They were also able to work within my budget and show me options that were in my price range. I bought my veil here as well. The alterations and fitting appointments were also very smooth and non-stressful. I went to another shop after looking here first and came back to Martellen's because I was so unimpressed with the experience at the other shop in comparison. I would definitely recommend Martellen's to any bridges looking for a beautiful dress for their wedding day!

Martellen’s was the perfect place to go for dress shopping! Everyone there was so friendly and helpful and the selection of dresses is amazing. I was only one of 2 girls trying on dresses in the whole shop the day of my appointment, so it was super intimate and specialized towards me. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Best selection of an store I visited. Tons of modern, crepe gowns to chose from, which is what I was looking for. I had issues with the designers sending the wrong veil and even dress variation. All the staff were super helpful to fix all these problems with no cost to me. They made very stressful situations easier to get through by being so helpful and sincere.

I couldn’t have asked for a better dress buying experience!! Their customer service was amazing without any pressure and they always made me feel like I was their number 1 priority no matter how busy they were. I will recommend them to every future bride I come in contact with!

I can’t say enough about how special Martellen’s owner and staff made my shopping and alterations experience. The store is a must-visit for brides shopping in the Chicago suburbs. As an out-of-state bride, I made appointments at three stores shortly after Christmas with my mom and other family members. Martellen’s was the last stop that day, but I had a feeling it would be my favorite. The store is cozy, so be aware of that if you have a large group. Bonnie took me to choose gowns in the back room, which was great. But (thankfully) she pulled what wound up being my dress. I didn’t feel pressure at all from Bonnie that day, but knew it was the one. Another consultant helped take my measurements and placed my order that day. Since I lived out of state, store owner Mary Ellen worked with my mom to pull several veils to try on at my first dress fitting. They all worked with the dress, and I had no problem picking a fingertip veil with lace detail. It was just as affordable as the online options I had considered. I had two fittings with Violet in the store’s alterations department. She created a beautiful bustle for the long, lace-edged train. It was complicated and took time to do on the wedding day, but the bustle stayed secure for hours of dancing at the reception. She also took in the strapless dress under my arms to make it fit perfectly.

The women of Martellen's truly have a gift at helping their brides select the dress of their dreams. The entire experience was one that I look back on and wish I could relive over and over again. They make each bride feel beautiful and special and this is because they have a genuine care for their brides and the visions you hold for your big day. Every bridal appointment was stress free and fun as every bride hopes it to be. The seamstresses are beyond talented and super sweet. I loved working with Martellen’s! They were so helpful with finding my perfect dress. They are very attentive and will make sure you are happy leaving their doors. They also do onsite fittings and have a seamstress which is super convenient.

Martellen's was my second stop in the search for my wedding dress. The shop itself has a very nice, cozy atmosphere. We were given plenty of attention and I was able to try on numerous dresses (all beautiful) within my budget. The staff was helpful but not at all pushy, which was a relief after our first stop at a larger chain store. I ended up finding the perfect dress that day! I lost some weight before the wedding and the seamstress at Martellen's was very kind in altering my dress twice so that it fit me perfectly on my wedding day. Martellens was the perfect little boutique for me to find the dress I was looking for!!! They carry all of my favorite designers and the staff was amazing and patient as I tried on several dresses (and some twice) before making a decision. They also do really great quality alterations for the price. I would highly recommend brides check them out!!
