This was a perfect venue. My in-laws got married here so we did too! They were flexible and professional. Our guest was just mesmerized by it. They helped my special day be that much better
I love this venue ! As a wedding designer the staff was so helpful ! Sue and Brad were a awesome team . They helped my client and us the designers to create a dream wedding! Everyone was so helpful and professional. I highly recommend them for your next event!
We loved our makeup artist she was punctual, professional and extremely knowledge. The prices were affordable, she traveled to the venue and answered all of our skin care questions. She did an awesome job with all the different skin tone and everyone looked amazing , I would definitely recommend and continue to use her services for future events. She’s the best at what she do the G.O.A.T. The bridal party and guest loved the makeup we truly thankful and appreciate your service, Thank you!
Martin's West did really well in the preparation and setup of the reception and our wedding planner Teresa helped out a lot. Unfortunately, there were some negatives that gave a bad experience: (1) they were negligent in keeping individuals not belonging to the bridal party out of the locked bridal room where the bridal party cannot receive a key for, leading to theft; (2) the management didn't try to locate me to coordinate what needed to happen or people I had to meet with before the ceremony started, leading to some things to start falling behind; (3) the person introducing the bridal party had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke and didn't ask for help in pronunciation of the names of my bridal party beforehand, leading to mispronunciation of at least 3 names; (4) the place didn't allow my wedding planner Teresa to talk to my husband and only the higher up to exchange very little words with him when he went to pick up our belongings after the wedding, making my husband feel very unwelcome. On the positive, Martin's West did try to make up for the 1.5 hour loss by extending the party by half an hour and try to rearrange some of the order of events to help make good use of the time. I would like to give a 2.5, but end up giving a 2 since it's just not possible for me to give a 3 (pretty good).
Martin's West provided the best wedding I've ever seen, and it was my own! Though I had a few frustrations leading up to the date, dealing with communication with my coordinator, she still helped me work out so many details that I didn't even know I needed worked out. On the day of the wedding, Melba (Melva?) Brown was so awesome and patient with my wedding party and our needs. Cindy was also a person who was so very helpful with our rehearsal and day-of details. These two were so relaxed and such great leaders, running my wedding was like a natural, second nature to them. They are so good at their jobs! The food was awesome, the decor was awesome, and my guests are still talking about how nice it all was. The only thing on the day of the wedding was that during my vows, I could hear music from the party going on in the next room. However, that really didn't make my wedding any less great. Martin's knows weddings!!!
Martin's was amazing! They were very helpful throughout the process. Everyone had a wonderful time, the food was delicious, and the bridal hostess (Anna) and banquet manager (Brent) were lovely, attentive, and flexible!

Martin's Catering has a great reputation in Baltimore, which is why I was so surprised at how lousy my wedding was. My event was at Martin's East in Middle River. The food was really good, but that's the best I can say about them. The wedding planners some how messed up the details of my wedding at the last minute. The songs, favors, centerpieces, and details. We thought we fixed it all at the rehearsal. On the day of the wedding, my husband had to run around with them to figure out where all my center pieces were. So during the ceremony all you heard was the banging around in the back behind the curtain because their workers were trying to set up my centerpieces during our vows. How romantic right? The staff also would take our guests drinks and food before they were done with them, as long as it was sitting on the table it was fair game. The staff found a way to be in all of our pictures during the reception. One server even asked a guest if she were pregnant, some people just have a little extra cushion! The wedding coordinator not only confused the entire bridal party during the rehearsal, but screwed up many things on the day of. He rushed us through picture time with our photographer, and rushed through many of the events of the wedding, like first dance and cake cutting. And because he was trying to do something special for us, so the manager tells us, he had the DJ mess up our last song. I am so aggravated and disappointed with Martins Catering. I have spoken to the manager several times over the past few month and nothing has been done to make up for the horrible day they turned my wedding into. I would not recommend this place!
Martin's absolutely the perfect place for me to host my wedding. I wanted a location that did much of the planning, and had a coordinator to help out with the event. I wanted something that was basically worry free. Martin's was that place for me. They did everything they could to make my day perfect and I loved it. My coordinator was Diane, and she was great. I cant remember the names of my day-of assistants, but there was one for me and one for my husband and they made it easy.
From our first meeting at Martin's Valley Mansion I knew it was the right place for my husband and I to get married. I come from a very large Italian family and my guest list was going to be pretty big. Karen at Martin's made my family and I feel welcomed from the beginning. She was so accommodating and worked with us for our specific plans.
We had the most AMAZING wedding. Karen could not be there but Michelle was just as fantastic and looked after myself and my husband throughout the night. Franklin gets an MVP as he got the crowd going from the introductions and continued that energy throughout the evening. We could not be more pleased with them. Loved the little surprises here and there throughout the night. All my guests came up to us and said it was one of the best weddings they have been through.
Bonus was they wrapped up my dinner (that I barely ate) and gave my husband another whole dinner too. We ate that the day after for lunch. If you want a reception site that has great service, quality and picking out specific plans - Martin's Valley Mansion is for you!
The food at the reception was really good. Though I didn't get to eat much of it unfortunately, as we were busy dancing and greeting our guests, everyone that I talked to really enjoyed it. I did get to try the crab cakes, which were fantastic. Also, the dessert table was really cool. The guests were really impressed when the room divider came up to reveal a huge dessert display.
I had my wedding reception at Martin's West! Three weeks later, still getting compliments!!
My wedding planner, Ali, the best of the best! She knew exactly what I wanted and what I was always talking about, even when my own mind was boggled and couldn't get the words out!
Demetria and Amax, make sure the night of went smoothly!! I never had to search for anything or wonder what was going to happen next!
The food, was perfect. We had filet and crab cake. To be compeltely honest, I was a little worried about the filets being over cooked, undercooked, or just not good. Boy was I compeltely wrong! Everything was cooked to perfection! They even offered seconds which blew everyone away!
Bartenders... AMAZING!! Nothing else to say!
This is defintly a one stop shop!! Will be using Martin's again when planning an event!!
My wedding planner was probably ready to go nuts by the time the dust settled with some people who failed out on their duties, but no matter what Ali Schwartz pulled through every time we needed her. The room I had was gorgeous. If time has allowed I would of loved to of done more with the fairytale theme but for what we had, I was very please with how they had everything set up.
If anyone is looking to book a venue for a special occasion, Martin's West is the way to go. Be sure to ask for Alison Schwartz. She is on the ball with everything that she had to do to make sure everything for me flowed smoothly.
We were at the Martin's of Westminster location for both Reception and the next day Brunch. It was great! I can't imagine how much more stressful the day would have been without them. The food is amazing and bountiful! No better deal anywhere.
The lady was very attentive to us the night of our wedding. As soon as our drink was almost done, she had another in our hand. They even went out and got beer we were supposed to have when they forgot to put it on the menu. It was the best deal for the money and everything turned out wonderful.
I absolutely loved Martins. There were a couple minor things leading up to the big day that I was a little concerned about but during the reception, the staff was perfect. They constantly came up to my husband and myself and asked if we needed a drink or anything and kept us up to date on anything we needed to know. They were friendly and so helpful. The room was stunning as well.
We had our reception at martins and it was absolutely amazing. The food was outstanding and our coordinator for the night was above and beyond anything we could have expected. They made our night something to remember.
1. Amazing food. We went buffet style and were served at our sweetheart table, but we were still brought HEAPING plates of it.
2. Beautiful venue. Chandeliers are gorgeous.
3. Bridal hostess and manager were very friendly and helpful most of the evening.
4. Announcements and events went smoothly.
5. Our original point of contact with Martins when we signed the contract left a few months into the process and we were given another consultant who said she would be with us through the whole thing - except she was not present at the wedding and we had NO idea until the rehearsal. That did not make me feel comfortable, but in the end everything worked out.
6. There was some trouble moving guests from the ceremony to the reception space, and no staff seemed to be helping the herd.
7. Bartenders did not seem very experienced, but made up for it by being generous with the liquor.
Martin's East was amazing from start to finish. Kitty (our event planner) sat down with us and answered any and all questions that we had-- they even gave us a discount because my SIL and BIL had had their reception there a few years ago. All through the process, both Kitty and Kathy were extremely helpful. On the night of our wedding, all members of the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful!
Very organized and thorough. The food was exceptional and all the guest were please with the quality and quantity of the food. They even upgraded our room for free so we could have an even greater reception. The really took care of us and made everyone feel good about sharing in our special day.
They catered to our every need. Didn't have to worry about anything.
The staff at Valley Mansion did an amazing job from the beginning of the planning process all the way through the end of my wedding. Every time I turned around, there was someone asking if I needed something, the food was incredible (received a ton of compliments) and the price was just right for our budget. To boot, the hall was very pretty!! I would highly recommend considering them for your wedding without a doubt...
I absolutely LOVED having my wedding (100 guests) here. I had both the ceremony and the reception at the West Location and it was beautiful. Our event planner Gabriella was lovely, and made sure we got everything I wanted. The staff the day of the wedding were so nice and very helpful. I wish I could remember the names of the announcer and the nice lady that followed me around for the day, they were the best too. Everyone was super friendly and as soon as you asked for something it was there within minutes. Everyone that came to the wedding raved about the location, food, and service too! I had the most stress free day and I don't think it would have been the same had I used another location. I literally recommend them to everyone I know that is getting married and would do it again in a heartbeat!
I also used their DJ recommendation and cake provider.
My only two complaints are with the DJ because he was late, however Martin's staff made sure there was communication between them and the DJ so they knew where he was and he set up within minutes. The second complaint with that is the staff wouldnt tell me why we were being delayed only that there was an issue. I understand that they were trying to keep me calm however it just irritated me more than it kept me calm because I was fine regardless.
However I wouldn't let that discourage anyone from looking at this location because it was completely understandable and only delayed the wedding from starting by 10 minutes. :)
There is no place you can get such elegance, great service, expertise, and delicious food for such an affordable price. Martin's blew every other option out of the water. We were able to have a premium open bar, premium appetizers, a salad, double entree meal, and wedding cake in a gorgeous banquet room with a breath-taking chandelier, wedding coordinator, and MC for the starting price at every other venue. Everything came out so elegant, so delicious, and was SO easy on the bride and groom. They are so incredibly organized and professional there. They clearly know what they are doing. Highly recommend the salmon entree!!
Both my brother and I got married here and all I can say is WOW. They have gotten even better than 8 years ago when my brother tied the knot! So much was included! Bob was awesome, along with everyone helping this past Sunday night! Totally seamless, took care of us, high attention to detail and making us know we were in good hands! Let's also mention the AMAZINGly delicious food that we got many compliments on. I was hesitant about doing a buffet, but SO glad we did! And always get the crab cakes weather you go with buffet or seated meal! We had a tuxedo cake with a caramel flavored filling and got many compliments. The DJ (DJDELIGHTS) was also awesome! They played all the songs we wanted and kept the dance floor busy! I really could go on. A wonderful deal for the money! I highly recommend Martin's. I live two hours away and it was worth all the hassle that went along with that travel to and fro :)
I recently had my wedding at Martin's Caterers in Walkersville, Maryland. The first impression of using them as our reception site and caterers was great. I felt like this was going to be an easy vendor to work with. Then, we found out that this branch of Martin's was going to be closing shortly after our wedding date. The event planner was hard to get a hold of since they had already moved her to another branch and finalizing little details was an extremely hard task. The general manager at the actual Walkersville branch, John, was GREAT to work with and I have nothing but great things to say about him. The staff at the reception did a fantastic job and were very professional and on top of everything. I heard from my guests that the food was amazing (although, they were not allowed to eat crap soup during the cocktail hour ;) ) and I believe all in all, they did a good job. I would recommend their other locations to other brides because their sites are beautiful. I also recommend the chair covers, they are worth the extra money and made it look very classy. We had a great time and ate good food and they have some of the best prices around. It is a shame that I had to deal with a couple of setbacks with the event planner or I would have given more stars.
Martin's Westminster is the perfect place to hold a beautiful wedding reception without breaking the bank. We had an amazing dinner and our coordinator Bob was so wonderful to work with! He made everything so easy to set-up and made everything happen just the way we wanted it. We didn't have to worry about a thing when we arrived at the reception!
I had my wedding and reception at Martin's West and everything was great for my 300 guests. It was a great planning process and they made sure my day with flawless. Everything was taken care of, the wedding, happy hour, food, open bar, coat check, parking...everything was great.
I thought Martin's was great! Especailly the day of my wedding, they were so helpful and kind. I didn't hve a care in the world! They treated my guest with kindness and respect. I was very pleased with them. I will definately have another event there.
What an amazing time my Groom & I had at our wedding reception. Joe Lanza, Bob Lazarus and their staff made sure that every detail was in place and that anything we needed through out the night was taken care of. The night ran so smoothly and we were even given a going away basket complete with champagne for us to continue the celebration! What an amazing night... and what amazing service!
Absolutely wonderful. The staff was fantastic, and always polite and professional. Even when I had panicked, "bride meltdown" days, they were always able to calm me down and reassure me that it will all be ok. And it was. I don't have a negative thing to say about this venue! During the reception, the assistants and event supervisors were always within earshot (without being in the way). They guided me through the evening, while letting me make decisions as to when I wanted certain events to occur (Father/Daughter dance, cake cutting, etc). They made suggestions, but I never felt rushed or pressured to move through the evening's events if I was still eating or wanted one more dance.
The venue is beautiful also! From the outside, it may startle some people to see it's in a shopping center. But if you are able to look past that you will be in for a wonderful treat. Majestic, elegant, but not stuffy or uncomfortable. The banquet halls each have beautiful chandeliers, wall decorations, and elegant floors.
Most importantly, the food was unforgettable. I received numerous comments from guests during and after the event about how good the food was. Some even went so far as to say it's the best "wedding food" and cake they've ever had.
I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.
We chose to use Martin's after hearing good things from a friend who had her wedding there. We wanted to get married outside and they were more than willing to go offsite. Our Event coordinator was so helpful from day 1 and helped us choose a package that worked best for us! We are still getting compliments on how much/ and how good the food was!
My only criticism is...the event planner that we worked with throughout the process had a vacation planned for our wedding date (which is fine) but we were never offered to meet the guy who would be running the ceremony and had to meet him the day of.
From event planner to the wait staff, every employee was helpful to us from start to finish! Our family and friends stated how beautiful the establishment was and how the staff was professional. We are very happy with our choice of reception venue and would recommend Martins Caterers to others!
I love this Hall itwas so romantic and I love the service and food and I will use this company again.
Martin's gave us the best price we could get for a reception of the size we had (240). They did everything we ask, and delivered almost everything we were promised. The only complaints are that they didn't send the top of the cake home with us, we were told that we wouldn't see or hear (through the wall) any other bridal party or reception and we did, and the space felt a little cramped to us with the table layout. But all of our guests had a fantastic time, and we did too.
I think we originally looked at this vendor because of the cost and closeness to where the ceremony was being held. The outside and surrounding areas aren't that great, but the inside was very pretty. When we arrived at our appointment, the coordinator wasn't expecting us and said our appointment was the week prior. Not true... I had the email she sent with me.
Helpful staff
From first consultation to the end of my event, Martin's was wonderful. We actually used the Crosswind's location for a reception 3 weeks after my husband and I married in North Carolina. My father worked with Kim in the Greenbelt office, and we corresponded by phone and email. Everyone there was great to work with, responded to emails and voice mails, and above all, wanted to make it perfect. We went over every detail, and Kim the coordinator thought of every little thing - even aspects that had never crossed my mind! The night of my event, the food was wonderful, the atmosphere amazing, the DJ picked perfect music. I was assigned an attendant who took EXCELLENT care of me. More than anything, though, I was impressed by the attitude of all the banquet servers. Everyone had a smile on their face, and it seemed that chairs mysteriously found their ways back into place and tables magically cleared themselves of dirty dishes and trash throughout the night. Everything was seamless and perfect, and we didn't have to worry about a thing. :-)
Martin's catered to my every need. My wedding coordinator was always available to answer all my questions and the matre d did everything he could to ensure I had a great day!
Martins is a great value and all inclusive which is amazing. My wedding coordinator Shira was awesome too. However when i got to the wedding there was a guy who didn't seem to speak a lot of english as our Mc. I had never met him before and he pronounced all of our names wrong! Disaster. I reccommend mARTINS but make sure you know your MC
I was so happy with the overall service at Martin's! They made the planning so easy and relaxing. They have a wonderful staff who is always willing to help you out. On the day of the wedding everything ran so smoothly because of their wonderful staff!
The food at Martin's was a nice surprise. You'd be skeptical ordering crap cakes in MD from a large banquet hall, but they were true MD crabcakes, and our guests had seconds. The dessert table was a huge hit since many people usually skip the wedding cake. Excellent food for how many people they had to serve!
Overall, the room was nice, the service was good, and the food was excellent. There was an issue with organization, but they definitely follow up with you if you have any complaints. Overall, good for what you pay.
I had major issues with my event planner at Martin's. She was a huge stresser to me during the wedding process and after. She had the inability to count correctly; screwing up my guest count several times. Every time she messed up, she had no apology and had a holier then thou attitude. I purchased the Platinum package which came with the house DJ who was not that great. He didn't follow the order of my night and played my wedding song while I was being introduced. These are all things I knew, but the guests had no idea. The night turned out lovely in spite of Martin's.
Martin's East was wonderful from start to finish. They always were polite whenever I had questions (and I have alot). The food was wonderful, the bar was wonderful, our guests loved the cake, and dessert table. We had one issue that they are in the process of resolving, they accidentally broke one of our champagne flutes, but they have agreed to replace it, without any questions. Overall I would recommend them, matter of fact my best friend/maid of honor is thinking of using another Martin's location for her reception next summer.
The reception hall was beautiful and the staff was very professional.The food was so good it was unbelievable.

I loved that it was big and we had the whole building to ourselves. The support staff was wonderful and accomodating. My assistant was fabulous - helped me out a lot!
They took care of everything... were very nice, great food, a very 'glamorous' type atmosphere, great chocolate fountain, great dance floor;We went a few days early to set up our slide show (we even paid a couple hundred dollars extra for all of it) and sound for the slide show, but during the actual reception my husband (the groom) kept asking the people 'ok, when are we going to do it?' and they kept putting it off and finally they said 'we don't know how to do it!' so by the time we did it most people had left and my husband had to set up the slide show himself and get it going! It was awful, especially after all the hard work we had put into it and the fact that we paid extra for it and then they couldn't even do it.
The best part was that Martins in Walkersville did all of the main planning items for me. They handled the decorations, the linens, the DJ, the cake, the liquor, and all the other minor details that came along. They were very organized and friendly. The wedding reception was perfect.;You may want to book an extra hour, because there is so much going on and the reception goes so fast, it is over before you know it!
Martin's West was hospitable, the food was awesome and everyone was so attentive to our needs. Excellent alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks-fine dining!
Friendly staff and how they set the hall up.;Make sure your guests get some wedding cake. A waiter took our cake away before 95% of our guest got any.
Warm ambiance, elegant, classy, roomy; excellent customer service
Everything was included for the price (food, wedding cake, open bar, an MC, the setup and tear down). The food was delicious. The wedding cake was beautiful. Our guests appreciated the open bar. The reception space was ornate (eg, chandeliers hung from the ceiling), so it didn't require much in terms of additional decoration. There was a gazebo and flower garden outside that allowed for some wonderful pictures.;Martin's West assigns you an even planner. We sometimes had difficulty getting in touch with ours.
They decorated very well and the service was great.
Martin's included food the DJ the cake and the open bar all in the price so I didn't have to worry about any of those things. The staff was friendly and very professional. Everything ran very smoothly and I didn't have any worries all evening long.

It was all inclusive elegant and absolutely beautiful! It was everything I imagined my wedding would be!;There's nothing I'd warn other couples! They are extremely professional and they do everything to please the bride and groom! They were excellent!
I LOVED THE WAY THE HALL WAS DECORATED CAKE FOOD AND ESPECIALLY THE WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT THE STAFF WAS GIVEN TO ME AND MY GUESTS ALSO THE SALES MANAGERS THAT HELPED ME WITH EVERYTHING WAS WONDERFUL. I WOULD RECOMMEND MARTINS CATEERS TO A FRIEND;ITS NOTHING TO WARN OTHER GUESTS ABOUT EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL.
The cost. It was probably the cheapest we found. The food was good as well and the location was easy to get to and close enough to the church.;The manager and staff were not up to par. The manager upset my mother, which did not sit well with me. My husband and I were a few minutes late to the hall b/c of pictures and he was trying to rush us even though my dress hadn't been bustled and when my mom tried to explain, he was very rude.
It looks like a castle at night. The ambience was warm and romantic and the staff was to die for.

I did not necessarily love anything but I did think that the food was ok.;Please be careful about the food package selected. They advertised that our guest could get 2nds but they brought out a totally diffent menu for seconds. the total lenght of time that they had it on the floor was about 30 sec if we were lucky. We we dis appointed. Also I think that they did not cut the entire cake, a lot of people did not get any cake which is rediculous.
Most of the staff catered to our every needed. I also loved the spiral staircase, the lighting was great, the table & chairs arrangements were great. I truly had a good experience.;When choosing your meals be very specific how you want you for cooked. Also make sure if you have any changes, check with your sales person a day or two before you event to make sure the changes will occur correctly.
We liked how close it was to our house. We liked how the venue included the catering, cake, etc, and that you could add other packages.;They had to many weddings going on at the same. Our ceremony was in the same room of our reception. During our ceremony there was loud music being played in the ballroom next to ours. They had the buffet tables set up and not covered at the beginning of the isle, so I had to walk through them before walking down the isle (having buffet tables in the backgroud of me walking down the isle were not good). The person in charge the day of the event was not the same person that I planned everything with. The person the day of did not know anything about us and was not organized. He made us wait for a long time to be introduced. That thru off the time for the rest of the day and then they rushed us thru everything else. They also started breaking thing down and putting things away before our time was up, this was probably because there were other weddings after ours. Martins West was trying to get as much money from as many people as possible by packing as many weddings in at one time that they could. If I could do it over again, you couldn't have paid me to have my reception or ceremony at Martins West.
The food and location was terrific. It is a gorgeous place for a reception with its huge chandelier in the front corridor. The staff was willing to cater to your every need.
