They we super easy to work with, very fun, easy going, and they were amazing! They surpassed our expectations! 10/10 would choose them all over again!

I couldn't have asked for a better band for our wedding. Matt was awesome from the very beginning as far as communicating, offering advice, and answering questions. He always got back to me super quickly. On the day of the wedding he was early arriving and completely flexible about timing when it wasn't exactly as we had discussed. The music was phenomenal and several people asked about how I was able to find such a great band. Our biggest worry was that no one would dance and plenty of people danced. The songs he picks are such great classics and are perfect for people of all ages. Worth every penny!

These guys are AWESOME! We were a little nervous booking a band that I'd never heard live before, but we couldn't have picked a better band if we'd interviewed 50. They did both our ceremony and reception music, and they absolutely nailed it! Everyone wanted to know who they were, and we've already given their name to friends planning their wedding! Highly recommend!

OMG! This band blew us away! All of our guest have not stopped complimenting us on having the best wedding band they'd ever seen! My grandparents were on the dance floor as well as well as all of my college friends. It was an unforgettable night!

Wow!! What an incredible band! They were the number 1 most complimented thing from our entire wedding. Matt and the band does such an excellent job of knowing what to play, and when to play it. They also play every song very well. From song selection to talent, they really are the best wedding band I have ever heard. They are also a very highly professional group. Matt is always striving to provide the best possible service. He helped us be completely worry free when it came to the wedding music. I would recommend this band to ANYONE that wants music at their event or wedding. I cannot thank them enough for turning our reception into an incredible party.

Matt Carroll and the Browncoats was the PERFECT reception band! So many of our guests were raving about them and kept asking us where we found them. They were a huge huge hit. They played a great variety of songs for both our older crowd and younger guests. People danced the WHOLE night. Matt is such a sweet man to work with and the crowd loved him just as much. We would choose him every time!

These guys were great!! I honestly cannot say enough great things about them. They were professional, on time, and amazingly talented! They kept the dance floor packed all night and since the wedding I have had so many people tell me how much they loved the band and how much fun they had. Matt Carroll and the Browncoats were wonderful in every single way as a reception band. Not only are they incredibly talented musicians, they also made the music portion of my wedding planning an absolute breeze. They provided all the required equipment so I didn't have to worry about anything extra and even though I had booked them to play at the reception, they volunteered to help out with the sound for the ceremony as well. Matt was also very flexible with song selections, allowing us to either play requested songs from an ipod (which he would also take care of himself) or learn songs specifically for us to play during the first dances. We requested that they play "You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor for the father/daughter and mother/son dances and they learned it and played it without a single flaw- it made it so much more special to have the song played live! Matt was so professional and well-organized and I just loved the band's song list in general - it was such a blast!!! The whole reception went by without a single hitch which is something I never would have imagined! The entire band was friendly, flexible, and responsive. I could not have asked for a better band to have played at our wedding - we are still getting compliments even though the wedding was weeks ago. All around this band is amazing and I would highly recommend them for a fun band for any event.

Matt and the Browncoats did a great job at my families wedding. I met them when they were playing another show at Stillwater and had a fun time dancing with friends and the entertainment they provided. I decided to hire them for the wedding of my grandparents because of how enjoyable they made the party and their good music selection for all the age groups at the wedding. If you can get 80 year olds dancing on the floor next to the 20 somethings it's a good time for all.

These guys were not my first choice. I had seen another band that I really wanted for my reception but we just could not fit them in our budget. We thought we were compromising by going Matt Carroll and the Browncoats because they were less expensive, but they completely blew the other band away. I think I was lucky to get these guys before they realize what they are worth. They were about half the price of the other band we wanted and we could not have been more pleased. They were perfect. Do yourself a favor and check these guys out.

I was super nervous finding a band on the internet. I don’t really know any musicians that I trust, but I’ve always wanted a live band on my wedding day. So I searched a lot of sites, read a lot of reviews, and talked to a lot of bands. Matt Carroll made me feel at ease during every part of the process. I don’t know that any other band would have had such attention to detail. I really felt like our wedding was a priority and not just another day for them. Thanks guys!

This band made our wedding day! We had some serious things go wrong during the ceremony and we went into the reception just waiting for more problems, but these guys had thought of everything. They helped us schedule the flow of the reception and they knew what they were doing. During dinner they played perfect romantic mood music and when dinner was over they knew exactly what to play to start the party. The band was great at every genre they tackled, and they played a lot of different genres! They were such a huge help in every way.

Matt Carroll and the Brown coats made our reception a real party. They had everybody dancing. From my nieces and nephews all the way to my great grand mother. Not to mention how special they made our first dance. They let us request songs for them to learn so our first dance was exactly the one we wanted and they played it perfectly. I recommend them to everybody I know that’s getting married.

Working with Matt Carroll and the Browncoats was super easy, which I was super thankful for. They did their own set up and take down, and even came with their own lights, sound equipment, etc. I really liked the songs on their songlist, and was able to request that they learn and play a couple of extra special songs for me and my hubby. :) All of my guests had a great time and I didn't have to worry about any of the music details.

We hired Matt Carroll for our wedding on May 10th. I was a little nervous, because we had never heard him in person, but we were sooooo pleasantly surprised! I have had so many friends get married and loved their bands, but they didn't hold a candle to Matt! We are still hearing our guests rave about the band, from grandparents to our twenty something friends EVERYONE loved our music. I will also add that Matt is great to work with, the week before the wedding he emailed us just to let us know that our wedding was his primary focus and to let him know if we needed anything. Matt and the Browncoats played at our wedding this past weekend and they were amazing! They learned all the songs we requested and played them flawlessly. We had so many people comment on how well the band played and was asking for their info to have them play form them for special occasions. The set up was timely and they even helped out with our violinist who was performing at the ceremony. They dressed nicely. Matt was on top of all the details and called me a few days before to run me through everything. I would have forgotten to give him the list of the wedding party if he didn't remind me. So overall, I would gladly recommend them to a friend. Great job, guys!!

This band was SOOOO amazing. Matt Carroll can literally sing anything in the world. Everyone was dancing like crazy, and I got so many compliments on how great the band was. Truly part of what made my reception so perfect!! Also awesome, Matt was easy to plan with and very responsive to emails, even when I went into crazy bride mode and was quadruple checking everything!!

Hiring Matt Carroll and the Browncoats for my wedding was one of the best decisions I made while planning! Matt was super accommodating and was always available to answer my questions. On the day of my wedding, Matt exceeded my expectations. He and his band were energetic and had a great song list! Matt has amazing stage presence and really got the party started. My wedding guests danced all night long (even my dad!)!!! I am still receiving complements on the band and how much fun everyone had at the wedding. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Matt Carroll and the Browncoats for any other event that I have in the future.

We loved our wedding band. Matt Carroll played at our rehearsal and everyone loved him. Their song list was excellent and they really entertained the guests. Fun!

Matt is awesome. You should hire him. Everyone at our wedding loved him, from my hipster friends to my brother's military friends to some snooty relatives to the hillbilly side of the family to my 80 year old grandma. He is simply the best singer/songwriter in Birmingham, he has a really unique voice, and he is a comfortable and natural performer. We once heard Matt playing in a local bar in 5 Points and while we hadn't planning on going in there, ever, we liked his sound so much that we crossed a busy street to go inside and listen to his whole set. He was the first person we hired after we got engaged. We opted to hire his duo (Brother Starfoot) because we wanted an acoustic sound and were on a budget, but his 5-piece band also looks amazing. He performs all kinds of music: Top 40, R&B, country, old standards, original songs, and special requests. We were able to choose request songs for our wedding reception, and we chose the theme from the TV show Firely, an old Gene Autry song, and Florence & the Machine. During the reception he performed some old standards and also performed songs we requested by Lil Wayne, Old Crow Medicine Show and Britney Spears. All of the covers were amazing. I was not really sure if anyone would be dancing, but more than a few people did, and we had a great time! Matt and his music partner had such great harmony that everyone kept asking if they are brothers, but they aren't. They showed up promptly to do the set-up and sound check. Matt's contract was very clearly stated and he was our MC. He also let us use his sound system for the ceremony, which was really, really nice. Both musicians tuxes for the reception and played for nearly 4 hours outside in humidity. Not only that, but they both actually seemed to be enjoying themselves - and we all were too! Matt is probably worth 5 times what we paid him, and I cannot say enough nice things about what a nice guy he is. I know he plays sometimes at World of Beer and also Fuego Cantina in Birmingham - his website also has dates for shows in Huntsville and other places around the state. If you ever get a chance to see him perform, go check him out and see what you think!
