If you were on the fence like I was about hiring a videographer, just go ahead and do it and make sure you book Matthew Jay - you will not regret it. Not only are his videos so amazing, unique and beautiful but he was SO MUCH FUN to work with! I may be one of the most awkward people ever, but he really helped my now husband and I relax, have such a good time and let our true personalities come through. I am so happy with our decision and may just start hiring him for random Tuesdays to hang out with him and his wife. Could not recommend enough!

It would be an understatement to say that my experience with Matthew Jay Films was abysmal. My husband and I booked with this wedding vendor last year for our wedding in May 2020. Our plans changed due to COVID lockdown restrictions and we were not able to have our wedding in Illinois because my husband had military orders to stay in California. When we let Matthew Jay know about our situation, he refused to refund us our $1400 deposit (which he in no way earned because we booked him a couple months before our wedding date) even though our contract had an “act of God” clause. I might have considered rebooking with him if he had followed our contract, but he lost my trust with this experience. I hope no one else ever encounters this kind of disrespect.

Our wedding was cancelled due to COVID lockdowns in May of 2020. I could not leave my Marine Corps duty station in California due to COVID travel restrictions. He refused to refund our deposit of over over $1400 despite a clause in our contract stating the deposit would be refunded in the event of an “act of God.” Absolutely horrible to work with. Could not recommend him less.
