When my daughter and her husband started looking for wedding venues, she looked no further than Mattie's at Green Pastures. It is stunning and exactly the vibe they were looking for. Courtney was a help throughout the whole planning process. Mattie's at Green Pastures is everything that my daughter and envisioned and more!
Mattie’s was the inspiration for the whole wedding!! If you’re wanting intimate dinner party vibes within downtown Austin - this is your venue. I really wanted a place that even if you didn’t put a single other decoration up, you were going to have the most beautiful wedding ever. The food was also extremely important to me and you’re not going to find better upscale southern cuisine in Austin than Mattie’s. It is so special that Mattie’s is a restaurant day-to-day so we can relive our special day as often as we want! Our guests raved about the beauty of the home as they wandered around during cocktail hour and about it being “the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding”. Courtney and her team are truly one of a kind. They were easy to work with and extremely flexible to our asks. My first time having dinner at Mattie’s, I knew this was the venue of my dreams. The whole team at Mattie’s made it easily come true. Thank you!!!
We had our wedding in April and it was a dream. Mattie's is so beautiful and fun. We chose it for a few reasons: It's all inclusive (although you can bring in your own seats, dining ware, etc. if you want to); it has multiple spaces you can use in case of rain; and it's very central in Austin. Our guests raved about the food and drinks and how beautiful the venue was. And there are so many great places to grab photos - especially with the peacocks. We will be returning for anniversary dinners for years to come.
Mattie's was an amazing venue and so beautiful! Alana was a dream to work with throughout the planning process. I loved all of the options at Mattie's. All of our guests raved about how good the food and wine were - something you rarely hear at weddings! Highly recommend checking out this venue for your wedding!
Mattie’s was truly a dream venue. We knew it would be an ideal spot for our wedding but it truly exceeded expectations! So many things were included (like tables, chairs, barware, even heaters - not a common inclusion!) and our guests RAVED about the food and drinks. We loved everything about our day and cannot recommend Mattie’s enough!
I wish I could Just Visit this place and see for myself these Green Pastures before I get a Fiance. lol
I had the pleasure of working with Alana and Oscar this weekend on a wedding, and they did a fantastic job. Alana was very detail oriented and super helpful throughout the entire planning process. She really went above and beyond to ensure my clients had a wonderful wedding experience.
Oscar was there day of to oversee the entire team and ensure everything ran smoothly. He was a delight to work with and took great care of the wedding couple and guests. I highly recommend Matties for your wedding or special event!
We had our wedding reception at Mattie’s in September 2020 and it was beautiful! We waited till a couple of weeks before our wedding to book because we did not know what the situation would be with the pandemic. The staff at Mattie’s were easy to work with and took covid concerns seriously. The staff (and our guests) were masked and the tables were spaced for social distancing. We mostly worked with Alana- she was great! We wanted a variety of sizes of tables so we could seat our guests by household, and Mattie’s was understanding and helpful in figuring that out. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful and the site is a beautiful place for a wedding. Also, the food was amaaaazing! Our guests loved it!
We chose Mattie's for our welcome dinner location. My MIL worked with Lexi to get everything set up. It's a lovely venue, and the food is incredible, however the only reason I am docking a star is because I felt the responsiveness was a little slow.
There would be exceptionally large gaps in time when we would get a response. This only became an issue when we were about a week out and Lexi went on PTO (no shade, take it where you can!). However, I wish they would have designated a point of contact during Lexi's absence.
Otherwise, we had an incredible time, and have received so so so many compliments on the venue being beautiful, and the food incredible.
Thank you, Mattie's!
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Mattie’s in November 2019. It was a nightmare working with Mattie’s and Lexi, the coordinator, from day 1. The property was gorgeous and food was delicious, but they are a mess. If I had known everything we were going to be getting ourselves into, we would not have gotten married there, no matter how beautiful it was. Here’s a list of everything that went wrong if you’re interested:
*Before the wedding – We toured the property with Lexi and we were set on getting married there because it was so beautiful and immediately wanted to pick a date. It took her over a week to respond to every email. We called her supervisor several times asking for a different coordinator and were denied. They told our DJ he would not be able to play music during the ceremony and told him the incorrect place that we were planning to have our ceremony. They were deceptive about the pricing – quoted us one cost for bar package and then charged us for another.
*Day of the wedding – The entire sound system that we were required to use malfunctioned 15 minutes before the ceremony. Our DJ had backup speakers in his car, so the ceremony only started 30 minutes late. Ceremony was in the back yard and we were assured that there would be no traffic in the ally during the ceremony. However, the Mattie’s staff decided to do all of their glass recycling during our vows. Part of the sound system included the giant projector screen in the reception area that would not roll back up, so we get to have a blank screen in all of our wedding pictures. Someone dropped a glass in the women’s bathroom, staff was notified, nobody cleaned it up, bridesmaid cut her foot, mother of the bride was on her hands and knees cleaning it up. The bride’s parents were the last table to be served dinner.
*After the wedding – We learned that they knew the sound system was already broken from the day before. Lexi’s supervisor tried to make amends with everything that went wrong by offering an insignificant refund to try and offset all of the challenges. In our minds, it was not nearly enough.
I could go on and on about how wonderful Green Pastures and it's staff were for my wedding day and during the planning process. Lexi always promptly answered my (many) questions and was a dream to work with during the planning process. The banquet staff for the wedding day were amazing. They were so incredibly helpful, accommodating, nice, and professional. My family is still raving about how wonderful the staff and service was. And of course the food was excellent too! We had a truly special day and it is in no small part to Green Pastures and their wonderful team.
Unprofessional. We were thrilled to have picked Matties as an option for our wedding but whoever we met with just ruined it for us. We scheduled a meeting and she appeared as if she had no idea there was a meeting. Even after several back and forth emails this woman acted like she had zero information about our wedding - ie reception only, about 50 guest count.. basic things! We felt like we were pulling teeth out trying to get information like pricing and event space details.
It’s a nice spot, but professional is everything.
Mattie’s at Green Pastures is truly a hidden gem. We are so lucky that we got to hold our Rehearsal Brunch there. The scenery is downright gorgeous, parking is abundant, the peacocks are a plus, and the food and service was outstanding. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to have our Rehearsal Brunch. We were even able to show a video on the built-in projector in the upstairs private room. The staff worked with our wedding planner to provide tables and set everything up according to what we had envisioned. The menu was exactly what we were wanting and the event flowed perfectly. All of our guests were just stunned at the beauty of the room, the picturesque setting of the grounds, and the high quality food and service. We love going to Mattie’s just for dinner together too and have never had a bad experience there. I would highly recommend Mattie’s for your next date night or your next private event. You won’t be disappointed.
I instantly had a connection with Green Pasture upon arrival – it was beautiful, historic and close to the liveliness of Austin. Luckily enough, from that moment on all the details fell into place. Stephanie (with Green Pastures) was incredible throughout the process; she was able to provide vendor recommendations and answer any other questions I had without hesitation or delay. During my 13 month engagement, and the different stages of planning, I enjoyed every visit to Green Pastures and the staff I encountered. I highly recommend the venue for its natural character and beauty as well as the wonderful people who support it day in and out. Thank you for making my wedding a dream come true!
we had our dinner reception here after our ceremony and it was delicious! we used the lounge room due to our small guest count and it was perfectly intimate. great dinner, drinks, and service on a gorgeous property.
Amazing venue! We had our dream wedding there 4/7/18. We have only lived in the city a few years and most of our guests were from out of town, so we wanted a venue close to downtown that also felt private. Green Pastures was perfect! The peacocks roaming the property made for some incredible pictures. Stephanie was fantastic with the planning process and made everything easier. The staff also did a great job with the food and service at the reception. I can not recommend this venue enough!
We had the most amazing wedding on 5/10/15 at Green Pastures! The house and grounds were a beautiful place to take pictures and entertain our guests. We received so many compliments on how great the food, drinks, and service were. All of the staff were very attentive and welcoming. I worked with Nichole as my event coordinator, and she was such a great resource during the planning process and the day of the wedding. She helped me with ideas that fit our budget, and she was always professional and responsive. We had a wonderful experience at Green Pastures, and we would definitely recommend this venue for any special event!
Green Pastures made our wedding as effortless and beautiful as we could ever have imagined. We were provided a wedding planner at no additional charge. Nichole Rogerson was terrific! She was experienced, professional, congenial and made us feel at ease. She made great suggestions and kept us focused and on budget.
From the arrival mimosas, the set up for the ceremony, the choreographed timing of the wait staff, the hand passed hors d'oeuvres, champagne toast, seated formal lunch and amazing wedding cake, all went perfectly.
The food, the service, and the beautiful setting are unparalleled. These two men were very happy! Five Stars!
When it came to finding a place to have our wedding reception, Green Pastures was our first & last stop. When we first drove onto the grounds, we were overwhelmed with the beautiful landscaping & serenity that was found in downtown Austin!
Our first meeting was spent touring the facility & planning what room we were wanting to hold our reception in. After
that we sat down to try out the food that they served for lunch. It was AMAZING. We were so impressed with the lunch, that one of the plates for our reception was picked specifically for the bread pudding that we had. Continuing on with the planning of the wedding, Mrs. Kook was a joy to work with. She was able to organize everything with such
ease & took all of the worrying off of our shoulders. When it came time for the reception, we couldn't have been more happy. Everything was arranged in the manner we expected, and displayed beautifully. We had excellent service through & through! The appetizers were superb (you must try the coconut shrimp!), the dinner was amazing (as expected), and the cake was absolutely beautiful! If there was one detail that I was wanting to be perfect, it was the cake. I was not disappointed. It was exactly what I had pictured for our wedding cake, and tasted better than I could have imagined. We chose the white cake with the lemon curd and an Italian creme frosting. It sounded amazing, and I can still remember the taste just thinking about it!
Regardless of the size of your wedding, Green Pastures is definitely there to help you with the entire process. I look
forward to returning to Green Pastures for other special occasions & would recommend this place to anybody. Thank you Green Pastures for your hospitality!
My wedding was a bit nontraditional and smaller. We wanted a nice sit sown dinner with mingle time included. The evening and food were perfect. We brought in a picture of a cake we found that spoke to both of us and the artists in the kitchen recreated it. We used the upstairs with the bar and cocktail area before and loved every minute. Every detail was just as we had planned. The entire reception was the least compicated and stressful part of the wedding. The setting is to die for. Our planner was so easy to work with and never batted an eye at our non traditional wedding.
I'm so glad I chose to have my wedding at Green Pastures. Everything was perfect and my guests were blown away by how nice it was-especially the delicious Sunday brunch buffet! It's such a beautiful location and the staff was so helpful and attentive.
Green pastures was exactly what we were looking for. Kristi took care of everything- cake, venue, ceremony procedure, food, tables, dinnerware, bride room, bar, and more things than I could have anticipated. The experience with green pastures was professional, and elegant. My grandmother described the event as "classy." I recommend this venue to everyone I know. Please make this an option as your start your wedding venue search!
Green Pastures was the perfect place for our wedding. As a native of southern Louisiana, the old plantation home style fulfilled the long held visions I had for our special day. The staff was very professional, communicative, and always willing to meet our special requests. Service was clearly a high value of every staff member there. Kristi, our wedding coordinator, was very patient and kind giving us as much of her time as we needed to make sure that we felt comfortable and prepared for the big event. The food was amazing, and the venue was absolutely gorgeous with vibrant oaks and live peacocks roaming the grounds to awe our guests. We received a ton of positive feedback from our friends and family after the wedding. I tend to be one that contemplates decisions for a long time (to a fault), and I can absolutely say that I would chose Green Pastures all over again for this once in a lifetime event.
When my Fiance' and I first looked at the possibilities, I knew right away that Green Pastures was the only place I would consider for our upcoming nuptials. And, after the fact, my husband and I were so impressed with how lovely the venue was, how good the food was, and how smoothly things ran. Many of our guests commented on what a good time they had, and they thought it was the most beautifully done wedding they had ever attended.
We were just blown away by the professional manner in which everything was handled, and the polite consideration we were given by the entire staff.
Nichole, our consultant was very helpful, knowledgeable and ready with appropriate suggestions when I had a question or was stumped. She saw to it that all the separate parts of the afternoon's events, from the ceremony, to the brunch, and on to the dancing, all occurred seamlessly and on time.
We were both so pleased with everything from A to Z, and felt like we experienced a 'Fairy Tale' Wedding.
5/16/15
We loved Green Pastures as our wedding venue. Our coordinator Nichole was super easy to work with, especially given that we were planning from out of town. She went beyond the call of duty in filling favor bags for us during the reception, since I didn't get around to it. I do wish we had been able to have the ceremony outside, but days of rain beforehand made the grounds just too soft, and I think our guests we much more comfortable inside anyway. The food was also amazing. We've gotten so many compliments.
My Husband and I wanted an elegant and beautiful southern wedding, and Green Pastures gave us everything we could ask for. From our first meeting we knew it was the place for us. It is in a great location, close to everything and yet you feel so far away when you are there. The grounds are amazing and very well taken care and everyone who works there is so nice.
It was really a pleasure working with the staff there. We were given a coordinator, Kristi, who held our hands and guided us through the whole planning processes. She and her staff would send me occasional emails gradually asking questions through the whole planing process instead of having to answer a million questions all at once. That helped mitigate the overwhelming feeling of planing a wedding.
Then, the day of the wedding we woke up to rain! I was so sad because I had so wanted an outside ceremony. I knew it was going to be okay because they did have a nice rain plan. But, a few hours before the wedding the rain stopped and the clouds cleared and they were able to do a very last minute switch to outside! I was so grateful and they were so sweet to switch even though they had already set up for inside.
The ceremony and reception was beautiful, Kristi made sure everything went smoothly, and everyone was able to enjoy themselves. I got a million complements on how beautiful the venue was and how AMAZING the food was. They also were able to accommodate my guest dietary restrictions and allergies. OH, and the cake! For the bride's cake we did the white cake, with key-lime filling, and american butter icing. It was the best cake I have ever had. Right now the cake top is sitting in our freezer, but I don't know if we are going to be able to wait until our one year to eat it...ha! It was honestly the best cake I have ever had.
I really can't say enough good things about the place. The food was fabulous, the grounds are lovely, and Kristi was amazing. She was exactly who you would want guiding you through your wedding planing and wedding day.
We worked with Nichole R., who was just amazing throughout! She paid attention to all of the tiny details, and was very prompt in her responses to us. She helped us pull the whole thing off without a hitch, even when we had to move indoors last minute due to weather! It couldn't have been a more seamless transition - no one even knew it had originally been planned to be outdoors! The space was amazing and the service was impeccable. And the FOOD was so much more delicious than I anticipated. I truly can't imagine having hosted our reception anywhere else!
We absolutely loved our wedding reception at Green Pastures Restaurant. We even wished we could do it all over again the next weekend! The events manager and coordinators made it very easy to plan the reception, from food to decorations. The food was incredible! I can't believe how beautifully displayed the tables and buffets were, and how delicious everything was. The waiter who served us was gracious and attentive. I can't wait to visit Green Pastures again!
This venue is really beautiful. We were hoping for an outdoor garden wedding but with the crazy rain that day we had to move it inside, but it was still perfect! Kristi at Green Pastures was great, she helped direct all of the vendors to make sure everything was taken care of. The food was amazing, all of my guests commented how good it was. When we were looking for venues we were looking for a place that had a coordinator to help, close in location, inclusive (cake, food, alcohol, tables, linens), and that was beautiful, Green Pastures had all of these! We look forward to going back for the amazing Sunday brunch and remember how much fun we had.
We were so pleased with everything! The wedding planners, the venue, the service, the food, the space. We got so many compliments on what a great time people had and how good the food was!
I would highly recommend Green Pastures to anyone that would like to have an elegant, fun wedding, within budget, with a professional staff guiding you!
Green Pastures was amazing. It is a beautiful venue, has amazing food, wonderful servers, and amazing day of coordinators (we worked with Nichole). I could not imagine planning a wedding to be easier. Everything went perfect with Green Pastures. I would highly recommend it!

I cannot say enough positive things about this venue and the people who work at it. I searched high and low in Houston, Fredericksburg and Austin to find a venue that was just right for us; a co-worker had her wedding here & highly recommended it. The beautiful historic house is enchanting and has an unbelievably gorgeous lawn & gazebo where we were married. We had about 30 people at our wedding and had several guests say that it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever seen. The service from Kristi and her team couldn't have been better; they were always attentive, extremely quick to reply to any emails or phone calls and were very upfront about all of the costs. All of our guests ranted and raved about our food! The cake selection was amazing, and they can put together about any design. Highly recommend Green Pastures for the perfect wedding!
Our wedding reception was held in the Texas Wine Room. Everything was just perfect! The food and wine selections got rave reviews from our guests. Coordination with Kristi and her staff was always a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The prices were very reasonable, too. The grounds are exquisite.
This is a 1st class venue for the most discriminating bride and groom.
Green Pastures created a beautiful and magical evening wedding. Kristi helped us plan all of the details in advance and kept everything moving as planned during the evening. We would not change anything about the evening - it was everything we hoped for and more! Highly recommend Green Pastures for a wedding venue. Green Pastures also has identified "tried and true" vendors (floral, music, photography) that are absolutely great to work with and familiar with the various settings.
Green Pastures did a wonderful job hosting our April wedding.
Layout:
-125 guests
-Outdoor wedding (lighted trees, additional hanging globes purchased)
-DJ
-Buffet (served in sunroom)
Pros:
-Beautiful cocktail/dinner set-up and scenery, peacocks in full action
-Food was delicious, cake was amazing and beautifully done
-ceremony under the lighted trees at dusk was perfect set-up
-Day-of wedding planner, Kristi, was very helpful and worked with us regularly the 3 months leading up. Also came through for us on all set-up decor we provided and extra exit bubbles!
Cons:
-If you don't use their recommended vendors, make sure you get clarity on everything being used during the wedding (we ended up having to pick up the dance floor ourselves the night of instead of early the next morning as the vendor expected)
-Service was great but had a lot of comments of them picking up full drinks set down while someone danced. I believe this had a lot to do with us maxing out our high alcohol budget
My husband and I were married at Green Pastures on February 28th, 2015. Kristi Koock and the staff at Green Pastures are fantastic. We did a 5 course dinner complete with a croquembouche for desert instead of a traditional cake... not a problem. Everything was flawless from our guests (and our) perspective! They were flexible, easy to work with and the food is fantastic; 10x better than any traditional "wedding" food. The house was exactly what we were looking for and because the weather was terrible, we lit the fireplaces and turned the wedding became a romantic winter wedding. Most of our guests were from out of town and said this was one of the best weddings they had ever attended. Finally, because Green Pastures is a restaurant and are pro's at hosting events, it makes the wedding process very easy because they do almost everything. Eliminating extra vendors and stress from coordinating them, allowed us to stay close to budget and had a stress free weekend. We even had family book brunch on Sunday! Kristi is the best in the industry at her job and I wish I had a reason to do more events with her. Our wedding could not have been more perfect, and fun.
My husband and I wanted a simple, small, low-key wedding and I was no bridezilla and I think that didn't do me any favors. because I'm easy-going doesn't mean I don't expect amazing service when shelling out thousands for a party.
Sunday brunch wedding rundown: less than 30 guests, ceremony at the gazebo with seated brunch on the sunporch. The venue already serves brunch on Sunday and the package includes access to the amazing buffet they already have in place - AMAZING value!
On the day of the wedding it rained - no big deal! I knew that Green Pastures was a popular wedding venue and that they would have a rainy day plan. Every room in the Victorian style house is gorgeous.
Except every other room was booked for an event or in use for their regular brunch seating.
As a result, we were married in a foyer/hallway just outside of the bridal suite. It was a pretty little nook. I didn't want to make a fuss. I just wanted to get married.
When it came time for the ceremony, I had only two family members there - my mother and my grandfather. My dad died when I was child, so my mother - who takes care of my 88-year-old grandfather - would be walking me down the aisle. He is hard of hearing, has poor vision, and is easily confused.
The ceremony started and the door opened for my mom and I to walk down the aisle (...or hallway...) we saw that my grandfather was seated in the very last row - not in his reserved seat up front. It was less than 30 people, so I didn't think I need to assign an usher. I didn't even know this was "a thing" at the time and the day-of coordinator didn't suggest it.
I walked down the aisle wearing my grandmother's mink shawl, his late-wife's, and he couldn't see it. He was in the back row at his only grandchild's wedding. This broke my heart instantly. He was at the rehearsal and it was explained that these two were my only family at the wedding. I was shocked that the day-of coordinator didn't address this given it was such a tiny wedding in such a tiny space and he was present at the rehearsal.
I was flustered walking down the aisle/hallway and then our friend who was marrying us hilariously messed up our wedding vows, but I remember little of it. It was hard to hear because the hallway was above the kitchen service door, so the banging and clanging and clearing dishes, the noise from the kitchen, and the noise from the customers enjoying brunch downstairs flooded the room. If we had hired a videographer (thank god we didn't!) the audio would have been a mess.
When it came time for us to enjoy the party downstairs, everything was set up nicely - except the seating chart ended up awkwardly on the cake table. Seemed useless crammed in a corner so far away from the place guests were entering? It's like it didn't fit on an easel and they just gave up...
The day-of coordinator made me a plate at my maid-of-honor's request, which was great.
The wedding timeline, set by Green Pastures, must have been a strict one - because as guests started leaving and they didn't move up the cake cutting. I kept waiting, telling myself not to be a "bridezilla" but it just never happened. When it did, half the guests were gone.
The Sunday brunch is a GREAT VALUE and though the venue handles a lot of weddings, know that on these mornings your "special day" will not be priority. Make sure you designate a friend to take care of details because the venue will be too busy
We had a very small (13 people) wedding and Green Pastures provided us with the same wonderful experience as if we were a huge wedding. The coordination, food, venue, service, everything was exceptional and I would recommend it to anyone for any kind of event. I look forward to using them again in the future.
My husband and I had our wedding reception at Green Pastures and it was an amazing experience. The venue is beautiful already so it didn't require any decoration except the centerpieces on the table, which was definitely helpful to cut down on the amount of work we had to do in preparation. Also, the Green Pastures staff and my florist did the entire set up for the reception so we were able to simply enjoy the day instead of doing all the work to prepare the venue. In the months leading up to the wedding, the wedding coordinator was very reliable and worked hard to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. After the wedding, everyone was raving about Green Pastures and how beautiful it was. We had about 260 people, so we overflowed outside onto the lawn but there was a buffet table accessible from every room and the food was delicious and hot. The only hiccup was that the top of our cake accidentally got thrown away. But the venue offered to bake us a new one free of charge. Overall, it was an amazing venue! I would recommend it in a heartbeat!
The team at Green Pastures is amazing! We are SO happy we chose to have our wedding here. The food was out of this world, the house was gorgeous, and the service was incredible. Our big day was rained out and the wedding coordinators were very helpful in getting a tent on the fly. Everything worked out perfectly! The team was fun and very easy to work with. You will not be disappointed, I promise! LOVE this place :)
I recently had my wedding at Green Pastures in November 2014 and all I can say is Amazing! After looking at several venues (which took us about 10 months), we could not find the right venue for us until we stumbled upon Green Pastures. Having lived in Austin for 4 years, I had never heard of it. But my husband and I won't soon forget it.
The close proximity to downtown while still feeling "secluded" was exactly what we wanted. The peacocks strolled under the live oak trees and the victorian house gave it just the right amount of charm, vintage chic and uniqueness we were looking for.
The brunch is what Green Pastures is known for and I received SO many compliments on the food and service. Also, the milk punch....oh my gosh! A mixture of vanilla ice cream, rum, brandy, and bourbon will make you forget about the stresses of life :-) I absolutely recommend Green Pastures to any future brides looking for the perfect venue.
From the moment you first walk onto the lawn until long after you say "I do", Green Pastures' wedding coordinators will be there to help you in any way they can.
Thank you to Kristi Koock for so graciously coordinating our wedding and making it a day we will never forget!!
-Katie M.
Back in an older SoCo neighborhood sits a mansion from the 1800s. The grounds a well kept, there are beautiful old oak trees and peacocks roaming.
When my fiance and I began looking for the place to have our wedding we knew it had to be just right. We wanted something different for our wedding and decided on an Alice in Wonderland theme (yes, I was Alice and he was The Hatter!). Our theme called for an outdoor setting for sure. I looked online at what seemed like dozens of places, but when I saw this one it jumped out at me. My fiance and I made a visit to the property before our appointment and fell in love with the property. Upon meeting with Liz, the onsite wedding coordinator, I knew this was the place.
I made my flowers and gather all of my decor in the months preceding the wedding. Liz and the staff at Green Pastures made my dream come to life! Where we couldn't quite come up with how to pull something off (like making our Cheshire Cat officiant seem to "appear"), Liz was full of suggestions.
The day of the wedding Liz was on her game, and the staff was utterly amazing. We had a simple buffet style meal with hors d'oeuvres, and an open bar. The venue even ordered a local beer called White Rabbit (to accompany our theme!) at our request! Our guests were very happy with the food as were we. We asked that, instead of a traditional wedding cake (yes, they make amazing cakes onsite too!) to have cupcakes of different flavors in teacups we provided. It turned out beautiful!
We couldn't have been happier with the the venue, the food, the service we received and the staff!
Green Pastures was absolutely amazing for our wedding. You literally feel like you're going back in time at this place and its beauty is remarkable. They take such good care of the property (which also has beautiful indoor and outdoor options for all seasons or unexpected weather and has a big family of peacocks living on it). My guest went on and on about not only how beautiful Green Pastures was but also how professional and great the service was. The service really made our wedding and the FOOD, was amazing.
But above all, who really made our wedding special was Elizabeth. She was such a pleasure to work with and as our wedding coordinator she made EVERYTHING (including weather/rain issues) so smooth and easy. She is the best at what she does and made sure that we were all taken care of all night. She really made our wedding perfect.
I 100% recommend Green Pastures to any bride. One visit to the property and you will be sold- but the service was an even bigger star!
Green Pastures met all of my expectation and beyond. Everything was so easy and they made it all very stress free. Every moment was carefully guided by my coordinator Kristi, and she was perfectly matched to my personality. She was easy going and carried out every request and vision I had in an unbelievable way without having to ask more than once, which was something that a bride values.
The food was top notch, with the cocktail hour as a highlight. Several of my guests called to comment on the quality of the food and drinks. My cake was one of my favorite parts. I was a little nervous to not have a custom cake from a fancy bakery, but when I saw my cake, I was blown away. It was delicious and so beautiful, it was incredible that it was all included in the cost.
Having my wedding here was the best decision I made. It is an Austin institution that everyone knows and they have the execution to match their reputation. I was so proud for all of my guests to come to Green Pastures and it’s location to hotels and bars left everyone wanting to explore more of the city. Can’t say enough about how great this place was.
I highly recommend Green Pastures for your wedding venue! My coordinator, Jennie, responded promptly to my MANY emails, and was able to meet with me to go over specific questions. While I thought at first that the price was high, it included not only the beautiful gazebo scenery for the ceremony, but also the reception room, catered food and drinks, the servers, the linens, and the cakes. I highly recommend them!
Green Pastures is the perfect place for an outdoor wedding. The venue and the grounds is so well kept and so beautiful that even if you provide no decorations you can still have a gorgeous wedding. The staff the night of the wedding was amazing. The service and the food were incredible. I had so many guests come up to me to tell me that.
I would like to give them 4 1/2 stars if that was an option. I am not giving them 5 stars because 2 days before the wedding I was told that our music had to be lowered to "elevator" music at 10 pm. My wedding was til 11 pm and this was known for almost a year. They worked something out with us that ended up to our advantage but the emotions roller coaster 2 days before my wedding was not very fun.
In the end it was a perfect day!
Our wedding was amazing. When we first went to Green Pastures to see if thats where we wanted the wedding, it was love at first sight. It was absolutely gorgous. We met Tanya who showed us around without an appointment. We talked to her about what we were looking for, she then broke down everything from the walking down the isle to the first dance. She was so awesome we reserved the date right then.
Tanya was always helpful whenever I had a question leading up to the wedding. Everything she told us when we first met she stuck to.
The day of the wedding went so smoothly and exactly what we wanted. The grounds were beautiful, Texas weather was amazing, amazing food and staff.
We set a budget with Tanya and she helped us stay on track. Even the day of the wedding the captain would alert us how the budget was going so we wouldn't go.
Green Pastures is an amazing place. I can't thank Tanya and her staff enough for everything they did to make our big day as special as possible.
Green Pastures was a dream come true. The atmosphere was amazing, the food to die for, and the people there couldn't be anymore helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better place to get married.
I absolutely loved my experience at Green Pastures. Tanya, the event coordinator at Green Pastures, was so easy to work with and was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. The location is beautiful, the food is absolutely delicious, and the space itself is so charming and unique.
My husband and I decided to use their gorgeous oak grove as our ceremony site. While Green Pastures provided the chairs (up to 200), we had some creative control about the arrangement of the chairs and the construction of the ceremony site. I loved that!
After the wedding, our guests immediately went inside, where the kind and courteous staff directed people to their seats. The food was absolutely fantastic! We had the Eggs St. Clochette as our main course, and then we asked the main chef at Green Pastures to make some fresh waffles! It worked out perfectly. And our wedding cakes were out of this world!! The bride's cake was Orange Citrus Pound Cake with Grand Marnier Filling and Cream Cheese Icing. The groom's cake was Fat Chocolate Cake with Mocha Filling and Espresso Buttercream Icing. So so amazing.
I also loved that Green Pastures, while having such a wonderful southern charm, also lends itself well to brides who want to be creative and different in how they set up the ceremony/reception. For example, I had several "stations" set up around the house for the reception--a photobooth, a display with our parents' and grandparents' wedding photographs, and a note-writing station (in lieu of a guest book).
Overall, I thought Green Pastures was the perfect location for our wedding. The staff made me feel completely at ease, which allowed me to soak in every moment of my wedding day! I couldn't recommend this place any more!! :)
I would give Green Pastures more than five stars if I could. There just aren’t words to describe how wonderful my experience with this venue actually was. We had visited several possible venues when planning the wedding, but as soon as we stepped into this beautiful old house, we knew we had found the one. I am from Virginia and couldn’t get over how much being on the property reminded me of home, in the heart of funky South Austin. The house, the trees, and the peacocks make this a breathtaking spot for a wedding. Then when you add in how delicious the food is and how amazing the staff are, I couldn’t imagine having my wedding anywhere else. Tanya was absolutely amazing. Throughout planning when we would have meetings with Tanya, my stress level immediately diminished. She really knows what she’s doing, she gave us great suggestions and advice, and she is just such a pleasure to be around. She really took the pressure off of me, I knew that I was in good hands; I really just needed to show up! In addition to Tanya, I can’t say enough about the staff, everyone was so friendly and helpful. From start to finish, the ceremony and reception went off without a hitch, and if there were any issues, I wasn’t made aware of them. For service like this I would have expected to pay a great deal more. The prices were very reasonable especially for what all you get – gorgeous venue, delicious food including the wedding cake and the groom’s cake (!), and exceptional service. Green Pastures is a truly wonderful place to get married. And now it will be our dinner spot for our anniversary each year. I wholeheartedly recommend Green Pastures!
Our special day at Green Pastures could not have been any more perfect. The event staff and wait staff pulled everything off without a hitch. We didn't have to worry about a thing!
Slow to respond to emails/ phone calls for finalizing details, but overall great wedding evening.
