Maui Wedding Cakes

Working with Cheryl could not have been a more pleasant experience! We were married in Maui and live in CA, so doing a cake tasting before our wedding was not an option. However, we had nothing to worry about! I could not have been more pleased when we saw our wedding cake! It was exactly what we wanted and tasted DELICIOUS!! I would recommend Cheryl and Maui Wedding Cakes to anyone getting married on Maui!

We had simple individual cakes on each table with different flavors and a specialty grooms cake - Red Velvet with Cream Cheese frosting and bacon sprinkles on top. This was a really big hit with our guests and I heard that the staff at the Golf Club couldn't wait to get to the leftovers! They also created a fantastic gluten and dairy free cake for us. Cheryl was so friendly to work with and made me feel confident about our selections.

We custom designed our cake at an affordable price, and it looked and tasted amazing! Very easy to work with Cheryl as well.

Cheryl at Maui Wedding Cakes was so easy to work with! I emailed her some ideas of what I wanted and within a day she'd gotten back to me with different options. It all turned out perfectly, with the fresh flowers and decorated exactly as we wanted. The cake was SO YUMMY too (we got the lilikoi filling)! If you're getting married in Maui, I highly recommend using Maui Wedding Cakes!

We were luckily able to do a taste testing 9 months in advance and enjoyed every minute of it. Since it took place in the beginning of the week, we had leftover cake for dessert for the next few days. On the day of the wedding, I was in awe with how the cake looked. It was better than I thought and I could not wait for everyone to see it. It also tasted amazing and everyone commented on just that. I highly recommend this husband and wife duo because they are really creative and know how to make more than amazing cakes and baked goods.

My cake from Cheryl at Maui Wedding Cakes turned out great. The ombre effect looked a bit different than in in the inspiration photos I sent, but it still looked great and the fresh plumerias on it were perfect. The only downside/note to other brides is that I said 25-30 servings, and there were only 22 of us total and somehow the venue ran out of pieces for everyone when they cut it. I am not sure if the cake was too small or if the venue cut some of the pieces too big, but I might recommend over-estimating on your cake size to be sure you have plenty

The wedding cake was not a big deal for us so we just went with cupcakes. Lots of different varieties to choose from. Went with plain white frosting design which turned out nice. Cake was moist and flavors we chose were tasty!

used Cheryl for our wedding on April 21, 2013. I am very indecisive, and changed my mind about 5 times before finalizing a design and flower arrangement! I thought Cheryl was going to disown me. lol Everything was great- we ordered coconut cream on the top layer and lilikoi for our bottom tier. Both were excellent, but coconut was the favourite. We got fondant icing (not very tasty and buttercream icing wasn't the best). The cake was brought out from the fridge just before we did cake cutting- it had already started to melt/soften so much that it was really hard to cut- just kind of gooed around the knife. Not Cheryl's fault at all, just something to keep in mind as the heat is unavoidable on Maui (we cut it at 7pm). I might have opted for the buttercream frosting instead of fondant, but the fondant was still gorgeous. I did ask for quilted pattern on the sides and no seashells, but the cake came without quilting and with seashells! I actually loved it, so I was so glad Cheryl did it this way!! Highly recommend her- not cheap, but nothing on Maui is.

I found this vendor through Yelp, the reviews were great, so I knew I had to give them a try. Dont be fooled by the location of the bakery (attached to their home). The owners were quick to get back to me through email and we quickly set up a cake tasting. OMG was it delicious!!! That alone convinced me we were in the right place! Although it was hard to choose which cake to get we finally decided on Vanilla cake with Passion Fruit filling and Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Mousse, our guest left us nothing! They absolutely loved the flavors! Cheryl did an awesome job at decorating, all I did was send her a picture of my bouquet and invitation and trusted her to decorate. She did in amazing job for sure!!! They also do cupcakes and cakes for birthdays, I will be using them again :)

This was risky...I let my husband chose our wedding cake flavor, in which he decided to go with Maui Wedding Cakes white cake with a lilikoi and vanilla custard. We live out of state so we were not able to do a tasting. But let me tell you this cake was fantastic. It was simple but beautiful, just what we wanted. But most importantly it was delicious. The cake itself was moist and the custard and the lilikoi flavor were outstanding. You must get this cake at some point in your life.

It is a risk not being able to taste your wedding cake before your wedding and only communicating your wants over email. When you have a destination wedding these are some of the risks you have to take. We were not disappointed! With a very small wedding we just needed a small cake. We sent a few photos of what we were thinking of and we got exactly what we asked for. We ordered a square white cake with Vanilla Whip Cream Custard with a layer of Logsdon Lilikoi. It was delicious and so moist and flavorful! Over the next few days we ate the rest of the cake and it did not dry out and was just as good as the night we cut in to it.

Cheryl at Maui Wedding Cakes was so great to work with. She offered great suggestions and was very laid back and relaxed which helped! We oculdnt decide which restarant to have our reception at and she helped me pick between two and her suggestion was great! Thank you Cheryl. All of my guests loved the cake!

I and my husband got 2 tier wedding cake from Maui Wedding Cakes for our destination wedding in Maui. 1st tier of our cake was vanilla cake with lilikoi (passion fruit) filling and 2nd tier was marble cake with chocolate mousse filling. Frosting was white butter cream with fondant swag decoration and fresh flowers. The cake was AMAZING! It looked so cute and tasted even better. Cake was so moist and fluffy and fillings were delicious. We even took the left over to our room to finish it off!

I barely had to do anything to get the best wedding cake ever - it was as easy as choosing a style and flavors, and confirming the total. The cake was GORGEOUS and most importantly, delicious! We ate the entire thing that night, it was that good! They topped the cake with pretty flowers that matched our wedding colors and everything. Full recommendation!

We were given a sample of their wedding cakes from our wedding coordinator. Not a single one of them tasted good..the cake was dry and the buttercream was lardy tasting. Their options were very limited to choose from and we could have found a better cake a grocery store. We ended up picking a different vendor. Being from out of state, if we had not had a chance to try their cake in advance we would have been very disappointed!

I ended up going with a traditional top with Lilikio and cupcakes for the bottom. The frosting was amazing and cake was soo moist. The thing I loved was that the frosting was buttercream so it wasn't to sweet and the filling and cake just tasted soo good. I was so sad when I found out they threw out my top at the hotel when we left it there by accident.

Our experience with Maui Wedding Cakes was fantastic! This was a destination event, and so much of our correspondence was done via e-mail. Cheryl was professional and always quick to respond to my e-mails. We needed a big cake to serve 85 guests, and we wanted something unique and different! Not a fan of frosting, we decided on a cake that had no fondant and minimal frosting. This sounds interesting but it turned out absolutely beautiful and most importantly moist and delicious! We choose a lilikoi flavor that was perfect and not too tart or sweet! I am extremely happy with Maui Wedding Cakes =)

They made my wedding cake for my 7/7/12 reception & it was fantastic. Moist cake & light buttercream frosting. We chose one layer with fresh strawberries/custard/white angel food cake & one layer with banana cream/dark chocolate cake. MWC's was very easy to communicate with & came through big time!

They provided exactly what I asked for and matched it to a picture I sent them to a T! Very nice to work with.

I am so blessed that I found these ladies! Prompt, proffesional, very kind and so easy to work with. Most importantly my cake was exactly like the picture, it was truly beautiful. I didn't expect much for the flavor since wedding cakes never seem to be too tasty, but it was delicious! It was the creamiest buttercream frosting smoothed to look like fondant and the cake was moist and flavorful. I loved loved my cake, thanks ladies!

This was the best cake ever!!! We went to Maui in November and planned the weeding for the end of May and Maui Wedding Cakes did four flavor taster case for us based on our request. It was so hard to choose cause everything was amazing tasting! We ended up with two different layers of cake. Marble cake with lilikoi (passion fruit) cream with fresh raspberries as one cake and the other cake was chocolate cake with banana cream and fresh strawberries. It was so good and I was happy that there was some left over cake so we could have it the next day. For one of our other events the weekend of our destination wedding we ordered cupcakes from them and they were equally as good. I would order cakes for them for every occasion! They were so nice to work with and the cakes are amazing!

Our cake was absolutely beautiful!!!! They took our order less than a week away from our wedding and everything turned out great! Our coordinator asked us what we were looking for and worked with this vendor. The look of it fit our style and the taste was amazing!

My guests said how beautiful the cake was and how good it tastes. The lilikoi filling is so good!

It's nice when you can say your wedding cake was the best wedding cake you've ever had, and if you choose Maui Wedding Cakes you will! First off our wedding day was 11/11/11, which makes for the busiest day of the year for MWC. That had no bearing on the cake, it turned out exactly as we had hoped. We choose a seashell design cake and it was beautiful, perfect for a destination wedding. The cake was delicious! We had a three tier cake with two of the layers being white with the lilikoi cream filling (passionfruit) and one layer chocolate with white chocolate macadamia nut filling. They were both delicious but the lilikoi layers knocked it out of the ballpark. What was really the icing to the cake was the white chocolate seashells, holy cow they were delicious and really added that extra bang. We ended up keeping the top tier of the cake and lugged it over to Kauai for our honeymoon, which was worth it. We got to continue to taste the delectable cake after the crazy wedding day. My mouth still salivates when I think of the cake and the chocolate seashells...

My husband created a design of what we wanted our wedding cake to look like. What we thought we would get and what we actually got was completely different. Especially for the price we paid! The cake tasted well but the design was completely different than what we had imagined and wanted. The positive thing is that they let us taste about 5 large pieces of cake for free.

As in my title I am now a cupcake lover! BUT only if they come from Maui Wedding Cakes. If I would have had my way originally I wouldn't have had a cake or cupcakes. Since my husband LOVES sweets, I got yelled at. ;P Our wedding planner suggested "just some easy cupcakes" so everyone else can have a little something sweet. Since my sweet husband completely smashed a cupcake ALL OVER my face, I had no choice but to taste AND smell them. I was hooked!! My fav was a lemon lili-loki(I'm sure I'm not spelling it right) The cake was so moist and the frosting was not the super sweet, gives you a ping in your jaw kind of stuff. They were beautiful as well! We got to take the left overs back to our hotel with us and it was battle as to who got the last ones. HA! Thank you for changing my taste buds forever!

With a few specific ingredient requests, the bakers at Maui Wedding Cakes made our dream cake a reality.&nbsp; It was both beautiful and delicious.

All communications were over email. They were very good with responding in a timely manner. Their cake tasted fantastically, especially with their special lilikoi filling. We got our own cake topper and brought it to them the day before when we got to the island. I'm just a little disappointed that when we ordered, we specified the design from their website (which is what they wanted us to do). We picked one of their seashells design, but it ended up having so few seashells - it looked a bit sad! Cost was $275 for 30 people.

My cake was amazingly beautiful, the roses cascading down the tear look real! blue fondant ribbon to the base with sugar pearls was a nice finish. Tahitian Vanilla to die for!

I was very pleased with my little cake we got to cut and all the cupcakes! Yummy! Everyone liked them

I have to say I was a little nervous picking out a cake I had never even tried for my destination wedding in Maui. We never took a trip prior to the wedding to do all the normal things that you do in a traditional wedding, so I guess we were setting ourselves up for the worst just in case... Boy, we could not be more wrong! The cake was exactly like the example pictures I had sent and even better, the cake itself was probably one of the yummiest, smoothest, fluffiest cake we've ever had. We got a white cake with the Vanilla Whip Cream Custard with a layer of Lilikoi with a whipped buttercream. It's not crazy sweet, or really heavy. It was perfect... It was heavenly! I am so glad we ordered larger sizes, everyone was ecstatic to take some back to their hotel room to eat the next day. We devoured our leftovers. The cake was just as good the day after! Very nice staff as well. No hiccups here!

I did a cake tasting at the owners home/business and it was with out a doubt the best tasting cake I have ever had!! Super moist and great flavor. We had them made a somewhat complicated 4 tier cake. We requested bamboo looking design on each tier and they went above and beyond with sugar bamboo shaped rods on the cake. It was delicious and stood up to the heat of the day well!

Our Wedding Package at the Plantation House included a cake from Maui Wedding Cakes, and we were incredibly happy with it. Their flavor selection is quite impressive, and the designs are endless. We went with a Lilikoi filling for the bottom tier, and pineapple for the top. Both were absolutely delicious! It truly was the best wedding cake we've ever tasted and I wish we could have it for dessert every night!

I loved my wedding cake. We got two tiers, and both were delicious. I got to taste Maui Wedding Cakes as well as Cakes by JoAnn and I definitely liked Maui Wedding Cakes more. Working with her was pretty easy and straight forward. Her price was fair - a little on the high side but I was just glad that the cake tasted really good! The passion fruit filling is delish! I would definitely recommend using Maui Wedding Cakes to do your wedding cake. You won't be disappointed!

Maui Wedding Cakes made the most perfect wedding cupcakes i could have asked for. We had a destination wedding in Maui so I was not able to taste the cake ahead of time, but thankfully the cupcakes were better than I could have hoped for! I sent them a picture of the cupcakes i wanted, and as soon as they arrived at our wedding reception I was ecstatic. True to the detail of the pictures and moist and rich. We had a small intimate wedding and ordered just 2 dozen of the carrot cake and vanilla buttercream for 17 of us. There were none left over! should have ordered more! LOL

The wedding cake tasted better than the sample. They will also go off their menu and do custom. We did a hazel nut that was great. The only problem is we specifically asked for no nuts and they put nuts in. It still tasted great. I would highly recommend the custard fillings. They are really good and almost taste like an ice cream cake. I would book them again.

We were told by the wedding planner she has never had any negative feedback, well I guess we were the first. We had a couple different flavors we wanted to try, so we set up a cake tasting a week prior before arriving in Maui. We sent days and times we were available. Cheryl decided the day and time. We drove 40 minutes to our meeting, arrived and she said we were not on her schedule and tried to blame our planner. I showed her the e-mail she sent with the date and time. She never apologized. She sent over the samples to our condo and they were absolutely horrible!!! We even had some other people try them and they said they were horrible. The cake was dry, the filling flavors didn't have any taste and the buttercream frosting was like whipped butter with no flavor!!!! Needless to say we did not order the $230 cake with her. BAD SERVICE AND BAD CAKE!

We wanted a very simple cake and that is what we got- they did a great job on the phone guiding me to the right size and gave good input on the types of icing and fillings. Overall a good cake.

My coordinator has sent me to Maui Wedding Cakes for our small receptions. Wow...it was wondering the cake turned out great and tasted even better. The chocolate truffle filling did not disappoint!

I chose Maui Wedding Cakes for our Wedding cupcakes after another Vendor never returned my calls. They were very prompt and easy to work with. Many options for style and flavors of cupcakes to choose from. We ended up picking them up on the way to the wedding rather than having them delivered. That was a little weird since they don't have a retail building but rather cook out of a commercial kitchen in their backyard. Not a huge deal, just a little weird. The cupcakes were very pretty, but on the small side for the price paid. I didn't taste one but was told that they were very good.

This is one thing my guests are still not shutting up about! Everyone (including myself) LOVED the cake! So delicious and so beautiful, I couldn't ask for anything more. My husband and I ordered the 3 tiered F12 cake ( Fondant with silk ribbon wrap. Filling was Vanilla Whip Cream Custard with a layer of Raspberry) I added a green ribbon instead of white, and orange flowers instead of white and added some of the iridescent golden shells. I was worried they wouldn't want to make a cake that was custom, but they were so wonderful about it and it came out awesome! It was with out a doubt the most delicious cake I've ever tasted, and ALL of my guests said the same thing! The only down side was they did not put the exact type of flower I requested, but did do the right color. I understand that flowers are difficult to acquire in certain seasons and are fragile so that didn't matter so much, I just picked the flower that the bouquets were made out of. It didn't matter in the end that they were different, it looked stunning and was delicious!! Can't wait to eat the top tier on our anniversary next year!

The cake actually tasted good. They have good tropical flavors, but that's the only good thing I could say about them. They did not make the cake that I had given them a picture of at all. They seem to only make the cakes that they traditionally make. I was very disappointed expecially since our planner told us they were "excited" to branch off and make something different. They just made a standard cake, which was nothing like I wanted. Their flowers did not look good, so make sure you get your florist to put the flowers on the cake. They take forever to get back to you if they even get back to you at all. They didn't even confirm with my planner until a few days before the wedding. They are also expensive.

The cake was decorated beautifully with fresh Hawaiian flowers that matched my bouquest perfectly. Dark chocolate with white chocolate mousse and raspberries and white with liliokoi custard!

Our cake was exactly as pictured. It wasn't a hit with either us or the guests but I think that was because of the fillings I ended up going with.

They did a white sponge cake with pineapple coconut creme filling and covered it with home made white chocolate shells and pearls and coral then placed it on a bed of brown sugar to resemble the sand. It not only tasted great, but it looked spectacular!!! Thank you Maui Wedding cakes!!!

Our wedding is next week, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to tell everyone about the fantastic cake tasting we had. If you have the chance, you definitely need to do a cake tasting with Gigi. She was fabulous! Her cakes were DELICIOUS and we got to try a lot of them. And then we got to play mix and match between cake and frosting. There are so many options (not the usual 5-6 you usually get) and Gigi helps you through the process. The cake we wound up with was nothing I would have imagined, but it is going to better than anything I could have thought of on my own. And I thought her prices were very reasonable. Overall - FANTASTIC!!!

We had a two tier cake with sugar shell decorations and the cake looked beautiful. My tier was chocolate with grand marnier filling and coconut frosting; I loved it, very delicious. The husband picked vanilla cake with almond cream filling and amaretto frosting but he wasn't thrilled with the taste.

We used Maui Wedding Cakes for our wedding. The cake was much prettier than the images on their site. We used fresh orchids on the cake and she sent the leftover orchids along, which was nice, we used them for something else. We had to change the size of the cake to something smaller about a month and a half before the wedding and she was very helpfull. The cake as a little bland tasteing but the appearance made up for it.

Wow, when they brought our cake out at the reception I was so pleased! It looked beautiful- simple white but with detailed swirls. It was three tiers and had beautiful green orchids on it. We had to flavors. The white cake with vanilla whipped cream custard with raspberry was outstanding. I want some just thinking about it!! The other flavor was also good, but I loved the filling in the white cake so much. We also had chocolate cake with chocolate macadamia nut mousse and received many compliments. The only sad part was that we couldn't take the top layer home to the mainland with us. I felt that the quality was a great deal for the price as well. (We worked with a coordinator who worked with this vendor and delivered the cake for us, so we had no direct contact with them.)
