I can’t believe the country club was transformed into our wedding venue! I barely recognized it.

Catherine knows how to make dreams come true! The bride and groom were nothing but ecstatic! I am a caterer and had the privilege of working with her for a recent wedding in Waitsfield, Vermont. It was so easy to talk with her. She was detailed and communicative which was very helpful in knowing what to expect for the wedding day. Her generosity and professionalism are unmatched. I hope we get to work together again!
Catherine is hands down the best wedding planner you could ever work with!!! I cannot even put into words how amazing our wedding was because of her. Not only was Catherine on the ball with every detail leading up to the wedding, but she also took care of any last minute communications the week of, which is a huge deal for brides who are trying to just focus on the big day!
The day of my wedding went completely seamlessly because of Catherine. She is so kind and caring, all of my family and guests absolutely loved her as much as we do. She not only orchestrated a perfect event, but also decorated it with her amazing team. I had so many flowers and candles, I was worried they would look crazy. But Catherine created a beautiful ceremony space as well as a stunning reception space!!!
She was everywhere at once, attending to guests, myself, my groom, kids, photographers, etc. the entire day and well into the night. She is so talented at what she does, and so enthusiastic and warm hearted, you will feel like your best friend is helping to make your big day perfect. Catherine is an absolute pleasure to work with, and I cannot recommend her enough!!!
Cat is a creative, well, maverick! She is a fountain of awesome, relevant, tasteful ideas. I also work in a creative field so I had a lot of ideas of my own, and she was suuuuper helpful in reining them in and turning them into reality.
Our family made a lot of the decor and she totally understood how much the space meant to us. What she put together was a vision, a dream (one of the photos here is of me and my husband just gushing over the table settings).
On the day, she was the most helpful ghost you'd ever not see. Like, somehow at every turn, everything was ready, everyone knew everything, and then she'd pop up exactly when we we needed her. All of our other vendors, and our guests, said the same thing. Incredibly helpful every step of the way.
She's also just a fun and silly person to work with. Fantastic sense of humor and a joy to talk to.
If you have even an ounce of personality, I highly recommend her. She just gets it, and that's a very special thing.
Absolutely amazing. Truly understands the needs, wants, and “feel” of the couples planned event. Catherine left no details missed, her organization skills were stellar, and she was very conscientious regarding budget. Add to that, she was/is fun and helped to make the event journey fun, less stressful, and memorable. You will love her! We do.
As a wedding planner getting married, it wasn't even a question to whether or not I needed a day-of coordinator--enter Catherine. Colleagues for years as we built our businesses, Cat jumped at the chance to help Jesse and I celebrate. She was a second set of eyes and a hype woman as I told her what I was planning for our day. She stepped up and acted on my behalf throughout the event to make sure what my now husband and I had planned and designed came to life.
One of my chief concerns throughout my engagement was if I would be able to separate "the work" from "the experience" of being a bride. Cat was there to ensure I was able to stay in the moment without worrying about my timeline and that is priceless.
Catherine is so talented, tenacious and such an advocate for her couples. As she enters a new market (Hello New England!) I am here to tell couples that you cannot go wrong with Maverick Chic.
Catherine was amazing from the very first interaction when I was filling out an inquiry questionnaire on her website and it asked questions to really get to know me, like my favorite movie. It felt like Catherine cared about getting to know my husband and me from the start. As we went through the planning process, she was super helpful in creating our mood board, asking questions we wouldn't have thought of for planning and what vibes we wanted for the wedding. The same was true of figuring out how the ceremony would run. And as the wedding week came up, she had everything organized and ready to go. She also helped me work out a last-minute panic on a design element of the wedding. The day-of ran so smoothly and was actually on time! (Which is saying a lot, since I think most weddings I've been to have run late.) She's also so fun and enthusiastic. My husband also thought she was awesome. Honestly we both wish we lived in Boston so we could be friends with Catherine.
This is LONG overdue but Cat was amazing during our wedding. Like holy hell. With all the moving parts, my husband and I not living in the venue area but being familiar since I had spent a lot of time there growing up, multiples trips the southeast to meet us to discuss all the ins and out, one last minute breakdown on my side 10 days before, it was nuts how beautifully she handled everything. She was a diamond find amongst a lot of planners who throw a bunch of fake promises and smoke and mirrors your way when you’re going through this whole process. She respected and supported my choices the entire way, pulled off an event that was better than my husband I could have imagined, and made it all with a smile and humor- which god only knows how necessary that is during wedding planner. She’s the real deal and I don’t say that lightly; you won’t regret a single ounce of time spent with her because she legitimately cares.
Catherine was such a great help during our planning experience. She went with us to look at venues and knew all the questions to ask. We started the planning process 2 years before our wedding because I knew I would have limited time while in grad school. She was lovely at helping me break down the tasks and decisions that needed to be made into manageable pieces. I think the best help was during the day of and the week before. I didn't realize how much gets done in that time and she took care of everything. It made it so much easier for us to enjoy the time with family and friends.
Catherine was the BEST! I can’t say enough how amazing she was throughout the process and on our wedding day. She was so helpful with tips and recommendations leading up to our wedding day, and really helped me feel more at ease during the planning process. And she helped make the wedding day flow seamlessly and perfectly. I didn’t have to worry about anything because I knew Catherine had it all figured out, and I was able to really enjoy my day to the fullest. She really went above and beyond to make sure our day was as perfect as possible. So many of our family members and guests commented on how amazing Catherine was as well, she really made everyone feel so wonderful. Having Catherine as part of our day was one of the best wedding decisions we made. We HIGHLY recommend her!!
I began researching wedding planners to help me plan our destination wedding in Asheville, NC & came across Southern Bell. I scheduled an initial call with Catherine to discuss & see if she was the right fit for me & our wedding. I literally cancelled ALL of my other consultations after ONE call with Catherine. I knew immediately, over the phone, she was the one for me.
Catherine is one of the most amazing humans ever. Kind, caring, spunky, hilarious, & not to mention so darn good at what she does.
You can tell she has a passion for weddings & this is exactly what she is meant to be doing. From the design planning along the way, to the actual day of the wedding, and managing it all so that we did not have to, absolutely everything was perfection.
Catherine went above & beyond to make sure that our vision came to life and she exceeded all of our expectations & then some. I literally could go on and on for hours raving about Catherine.

I can’t say enough positive things about Catherine! Weddings can be stressful but she was there whenever I needed to run ideas by, get advice and even keep my wedding stress at bay! And during the wedding, I was able to relax knowing she had everything set and ready to go.

Hiring Catherine as our coordinator was the best decision we made for our wedding. Not only is she incredibly organized, thoughtful, and detailed, she is also SO much fun and infectiously happy. I was initially drawn to her because of her purple hair (how bad ass!!) but after our first call, I knew she was the right choice and that was solidified through the meetings, emails, and texts leading up to the big weekend.
She truly cared about our happiness and made sure we were able to relax and enjoy every moment of our rehearsal and wedding day. Despite it raining on our day, she was always upbeat and encouraging, which definitely helped reassure us. She did an amazing job coordinating all of our vendors together, especially given the trickiness of the rain, and ensured all the details were to our liking. We really appreciated that she was flexible with the plan - the rain stopped only a couple hours before our ceremony start time and she made sure we were still able to have the ceremony at our desired outdoor site. Her assistant (Elizabeth) was also so sweet and helpful!
My husband and I have repeatedly said that we don't know what we would have done without Catherine. She played a huge part in making our wedding the best weekend of our lives, we are forever grateful to her!
Catherine is one of the most genuine, kind, and thoughtful people I’ve ever worked with. Originally our wedding was scheduled for September of 2021 but we pushed it back to May of 2022 for various reasons. Upon doing so we moved our entire wedding to the Inn/Lioncrest on Biltmore Estate who required a planner. I spoke with numerous planners prior to meeting Catherine and knew in the first 5 minutes of our call I wanted to work with her. We were on the same page and Catherine just ‘gets it’. She’s a clear communicator, incredibly organized, completely trustworthy, and just gets things done. When I started planning our simple and intimate wedding 2 years ago I had no intention of hiring a planner as I had years of experience planning philanthropic event fundraiser and high-profile galas…but weddings are a completely different story. Working with this incredible woman was one of the smartest decisions I made and I don’t know what I would’ve done without her.
The best choice my husband and I made during wedding planning was hiring Catherine. She is so kind, thoughtful, organized, warm, and easy to talk to. I had a negative experience with another wedding planner based in NC we met with who left us feeling judged for our budget, discouraged, stressed, and really dreading the whole wedding planning process. I decided to keep looking and somehow stumbled upon Catherine. She called me after I submitted an interest form and I left that conversation feeling so relieved, and excited for my wedding and even the planning.
We live in Washington state, and I wanted to get married in my home state of NC and knew I would need (a lot!) of extra help since we would be planning from so far way. When we hired Catherine it was 2019, and our wedding was set for July of 2020. Of course the pandemic had other plans, and we ended up changing our date twice. Catherine made the date changes all possible, and helped us feel grounded and in control even in the midst of all the craziness that was happening. I know that I would not have been able to stay sane without her during that whole process.
Her recommendations for vendors were spectacular, to the point where I actually hope I get to use them again in the future for other types of events. She is an amazing listener and was able to get a feel for what we wanted and found multiple options we could choose from. By the time we finally got to have our wedding day I didn't have to feel any stress or worry about anything because I knew she would have everything taken care of. I truly just got to relax with my bridal party and enjoy the moments leading up to the ceremony. Our wedding weekend was probably the best weekend of my husband and I's life, and it's all thanks to Catherine. And while wedding planning was not exactly my favorite thing (especially since it turned into a 2 year process), once the wedding was over we were kind of sad that we wouldn't be having meetings with Catherine anymore to talk about plans or just to chat.
If you are considering hiring a wedding planner I cannot recommend Catherine enough.
YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS!
You will always come on here and see what couples have to say about the wedding vendors but its not often do you see another vendor wanting to write a review about another vendor. So why am I? Its simple, Cat with Southern Bell Weddings is AMAZING!!! Not only have I seen first hand on how she treats her clients (like family) but also I get to see behind the scenes of everything she does for her couples. She legally puts her heart, soul, she really just puts in everything she's got into every wedding.
You would think that by doing that, it would drain the person...not Cat. No matter how long of a day it has been she always makes time to make sure her brides and grooms are taken care of and have no anxiety over a decision or thought. She is there to make sure that each couple has their own FANTASTIC experience, all the while making wedding planning fun. I SAID IT...FUN!!!! You would think that "wedding planning" and "fun" wouldn't be in the same sentence, but somehow Cat is able to do it every single time. HIRE HER!
Catherine is the absolute best! I couldn’t recommend her enough. My family, friends, husband, guests all raved about her for weeks following the wedding... EVERYONE loved her. She is so fabulous and helpful. She is funny, kind, extremely great at what she does and treats you like family. Hire her! You will not regret it.
Planning a wedding in Asheville, NC while living in San Antonio in the middle of a pandemic, it was important for us to find someone to be our boots on the ground. Catherine made the planning process SO easy and was really there for us every step of the way. I am definitely a "Do-It-Yourself" kinda person, but having Catherine tie together all of the hard work my family and I put into the decor and also the running of the ceremony and reception — our wedding day was seriously such a breeze because of her!!! Not only that, but she was just a pure joy to work with in general (can we be friends??) LASTLY, because we are out of Texas, we really wanted to bring a piece of TX to our NC wedding with some Ranch Water and Lone Star beers. unfortunately, the nearest place to get it was in Tennessee. Catherine went out of her way (quite literally!!) to make sure we were able to enjoy TX finest beverages. Our guests LOVED it and we couldn't be more thankful.
