The tasting was very fun there were a lot of flavor and design options. They also delivered and set up the cake & cake topper. The communication was alright and the pricing was a little confusing.

We had a great experience last year working with McArthur's on our wedding cake! McArthur's has a wide variety of different cakes designs and options to choose from at what felt to us to be at reasonable prices. The taste of our strawberry and vanilla cake was delicious. We worked the most closely with Mike and he was very professional and fun to work with. The delivery to the venue in downtown St. Louis went smooth as well. Overall, a great experience! This vendor was great! Everything went smoothly, no issues or hiccups at all, and the cake turned out beautiful and delicious!! Every time I told someone we are using McArthur’s for the cake, they would all say “oh good choice!!”

For our wedding, we purchased a two-tier cake and a groom's cake. Both we're delicious. The ability to taste all of the flavors and fillings really helped us make up our minds on what to choose. Their cakes are moist, soft, and taste amazing. We wish we had ordered a bigger cake just so we could have leftovers. Lastly, they did a great job of making a Cubs themed cake to surprise the groom, even though they're deep inside Cardinals country. He was so surprised and loved every bit of it. Thank you! We had such an easy time working with them and would highly recommend them.

The cake was beautifully decorated but apparently they did not put the cake topper on when they delivered it. Thank goodness my sister in law was there to put it on before guests arrived.

We went to 4 different bakeries in St. Louis (for wedding tastings) and McArthur's Bakery was hands down our favorite. Not only did they provide so many options for our in person tasting, they were also super helpful in working with our budget. We chose a 3-tier amaretto cake with white buttercream frosting. On wedding day, they were on time and they worked with us for a small delivery window (~50 minutes). Our only regret for wedding day was not having any leftover! We will be ordering the same cake for our 1-year anniversary.

Loved working with McArthur’s for our wedding. The cake was delicious and so were all the desserts. We got brownie bites and gooey buttercake bites and they were a huge hit! They were all so friendly and professional as well as the price for dessert was very reasonable!

I originally ordered a really big cake due to the amount of people RSVP’n when I realized those people weren’t coming I reached out to ask if I could downsize and they did just that and still made my cake look so beautiful and threw some cupcakes in there too. Very flavorful and delicious !

It was fun and everything was so good! The staff answered all of our questions and were easy to work with. The cake turned out beautiful and we had additional sheet cake for our guests. We went with a strawberry, marble, and vanilla cake with buttercream icing - so tasty! Our guests were raving about how delicious our cake was. I definitely recommend McArthur's for you wedding cake. Good, local bakery. They were nice to work with and did a great job of taking my vision for our cake and making it a reality. I wish they had more cake/filling flavors but all the same our cake was delicious and our guests loved it!

Just wow! Working with McArthur's was fantastic. They are fairly priced and willing to help you get the most bang for your buck. Not to mention the cake was absolutely delicious! We did a small cake for the bridal party and family and then sheet cakes for our guests. We heard nothing but compliments on everything! They were prompt to deliver and work with our florist to make sure the cake was at the venue at the right time! We're already looking forward to eating our frozen slices for our anniversary!

We used McArthurs for our wedding cake and a grooms cake for our rehearsal dinner. We had so many compliments on this cake and the day of decided we wanted to save the top tier to eat in a year because it was so good! They listened carefully to all our requests and both cakes were beautiful and delicious! I will be using them in the future for events!

I can't say enough good things about Mcarthur's. We went to at least 6 different bakeries to try cakes and get pricing. Not only was Mcarthur's the most delicious but they were also the most reasonably priced! Their customer service is also top notch. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic my wedding had to be rescheduled. Mcarthur's helped me to reschedule everything with ease. In order to celebrate my original date, I asked if I could order the top tier of my wedding cake delivered to my house on our original date. The staff at Mcarthur's was so kind as to offer it to me free of charge. It arrived promptly, looked beautiful, and tasted even better. I am so grateful for these people!

We had a great experience with McArthur's! At our initial consultation, we explained that we would also have a donut bar at our reception and she encouraged us not to spend the money on a large cake. I really appreciated this honesty! McArthur's coordinated the delivery of our cake with our reception venue and we did not need to be involved at all, which was really a blessing on the day of the wedding with everything else going on.

McArthur's was great from the very beginning! We had a wonderful tasting (lots of options), payment was simple and quick, and communication was timely. The cake was delivered right on time and looked beautiful. Heard many compliments from friends and family about how delicious it tasted...and I agree :) I highly recommend McArthur's for your next event!

McArthur's Bakery exceeded my expectations! I was just looking for a cake, nothing crazy, just keeping it simple. The tasting was wonderful, Hollie was easy to talk to and super sweet, and the pricing was more affordable than I anticipated. (Not to mention that cake was absolutely delicious!) We scheduled a pick up, and was informed a few months later that the pick up location no longer existed. We were offered free delivery and I was extremely thankful for their commendable customer service. They didn't have to extend that offer to us, and I cannot express enough how appreciative I was that they did. I dropped out a few decorations for them to put on the cake, and I was in awe at how professional, beautiful, and elegant the cake looked when I first saw it after the ceremony. Biting into it was amazing, as it was so soft and creamy and just so delicious. They are a pleasure to work with, and do their job right. I highly recommend them.

McArthurs Bakery blew my expectations out of the water. The cake looked exactly like the Pinterest photo we had showed them. We got a tiered cake and gooey butter bites, brownie bites, and cupcakes. Could not have asked for a better combination. Everyone was raving about the desserts and we are just so happy we chose them for our wedding!

I will never, ever use this bakery again. My wedding is 11/2/19 and they called me 9 days before I am to pick up my wedding cake to tell me the design I chose would not travel well . I had short notice to figure out something else so needless to say I have no idea what my cake will look like. When I chose the design I told them the travel plans and yet they happily took my money. Now, they are refunding the cake decoration fee but can't even process that as they promised. Anyone who has planned there magical day knows how stressful it can get days before your wedding. I am just appalled at their lack of caring. I just wanted my vision to come true but they severely messed up. Now all I can do is hope for the best. I hated the design when I picked up my cake but what was I supposed to do? When we cut into the cake the bottom tier was wrong. You can see my face change in the progression of wedding photos, I was shocked. I called 3 times and finally was told I was a liar since I didn't have pictures of the cake when it was cut. They are refunding my whole cake but I was told to never order from them again by the owner!! I just wanted a refund on the bottom tier which was wrong. I told them I'd send in all 50 of my guests to confirm the flavor if they wanted proof. Never ever have I been treated so badly. I even paid up front for my cake!!

We have used McArthur's for our daughter's baptism cake, birthday cakes, bridal shower cake, and now wedding cake. It was so delicious!! They really know what they are doing from the simple fact of being in the business for so long.

We used McArthur's for our wedding and I am so happy we did! I grew up in St. Louis and had come to know them well through treats and cakes at various events. And of course, they did not disappoint for our wedding cake. What really made them stand out was how they handled our slightly out of the ordinary situation - my husband and I currently live in San Jose, CA (though our wedding took place just outside of STL), and so we had to do all of our planning long distance. We worked with Hollie for our cake order, and she was great in helping us set things up. We were even able to arrange sample boxes to be prepared for pick up, because we were limited on time when visiting prior to the wedding and couldn't come in for a sit-down tasting. The samples themselves were above and beyond our expectations, as they gave us generous slices of each different cake type (8 total if I'm remembering correctly), as well as little cups of all the fillings to try with it. The day of, the cake turned out perfectly as we wanted (yellow cake with strawberry filling and simple textured frosting design), and we got tons of compliments on how good it tasted days after! The cake was also perfectly in our budget and plenty to feed our guest list. Our only complaint is that we didn't get to eat enough of it ourselves! I can't wait until the next time we visit and can stop in for a sweet treat.

We wanted a simple, delicious white cake for our July wedding and McArthur's delivered just that! It was tasty and right on time for our florist to decorate. Thanks McArthur's!

As soon as we got engaged, the first thing my now-Husband wanted to book was the wedding cake and he already knew exactly where he wanted it to come from. I am gluten free, so I was unable to eat any of it but everyone else said it was absolutely delicious. I was shocked by how little cake was left after the wedding. Any time we have had any kind of event, McArthur's is our first stop for cake or cupcakes.

I debated on writing a review, but I wish I had known several things about this bakery prior to my tasting. My goal is to inform other couples to make the best decisions prior to booking a tasting with this company so you don't waste your time like I did. My first issue is this, I had contacted McArthurs with a quote. This included my location, # of guests, etc. Holly quickly responded with a list of different things she could do for me. This included 4-tiers to suit our 150 guest count. We booked our appointment given the thoroughness of the quote, we felt like we were in good hands. I contacted the bakery the day before to confirm my tasting. They responded, "What's your name I'll make sure you're in the books." Okay no problem, but make sure I have my scheduled appointment with all of my given information. Secondly, in route the day of, my GPS told me we were 5 minutes behind schedule. I quickly contacted McArthurs and advised Hollie my arrival time would be 5:05 instead of 5:00. She stated, "As long as you're here before 5:10, otherwise we will have to reschedule." I advised her we were traveling over an hour and a half to reach her and she seemed unwilling to accommodate to that even though we had her booked from 5-6pm. We arrived at 5:05pm and stood around and waited for Hollie to be ready which was a good 10-15 minutes. She wasn't prepared so we had to wait. But we would have had to reschedule if she had to wait another 5 minutes for us? It didn't seem fair to me. When we sat down I had to assume who was consulting with us was Hollie because she never introduced herself to us. She right off the bat said, " We are unable to deliver to you as your location is 49 miles away and we only deliver up to 40 miles.".. Okay no problem, can we pay for the extra 9 miles? Or meet you 9 miles away from the location? Hollie responded with a no that was not their policy but we were more than welcome to come and pick up the cake THE DAY OF. But it's also their policy that we are unable to pick up a cake larger than 3 tiers.(Which would never serve all of our guests. All of this hollie knew prior to our booking) All of this new info was never mentioned to us prior to booking. After she threw that information on us, my fiance and I were speechless and didn't even know what to say. Holly said, "Well we can still do the tastings." And sat the tray of cakes in front of us, and was completely uninvested in us. She was writing things down in her book, avoided eye contact, and never talked us through anything. I couldn't get out of this facility quick enough. Holly was extremely unprofessional and we ultimately felt like a burden. The only reason I am not rating this bakery 1 star is because I never carried out any business through them But honestly, I would never trust putting my wedding into the hands of Holly because she was so disheveled and unorganized and completely and completely uninvested in us. We left with a, "I'll give you an email tomorrow with information." This was almost 2 weeks ago, with no email ever to have been received. I am SO disappointed. If Hollie would have looked at our info prior to our booking this would have never happened. McArthurs ultimately lost a $500 sale for a measly 9 miles

Best ever!

We seriously tried so many bakeries for our wedding cake and McArthur's was not only the best but also the most reasonably priced. The cake was absolutely beautiful and they were more than willing to change the design several times as I figured out what I finally wanted it to look like. We were specifically looking for a white wedding cake without the wedding almond flavor and McArthur's was able to do that. We added in pumpkin spice for a fall theme and that was a big hit as well!
