McCarthy - White's Flowers

Words cannot even describe how beautiful the floral arrangements (center pieces, table pieces, stair garland, wreath) were at our wedding. McCarthy Florist went above and beyond my expectations, and everything was beyond beautiful. We were receiving compliments ALL NIGHT on how beautiful the floral arrangements were. Through the process, I worked predominantly with Brian McCarthy and Chrissy Connors, who are both so passionate and knowledgeable about the floral industry and put every concern I had at ease. I was able to work together with them to share my vision and ultimately what I wanted, and they helped that vision come to life (and then some!). For example, I thought that low centerpieces for the tables would be the best option, as I didn't want too much going on. Brian suggested to alternate high and low centerpieces for the tables, so that it really opened up the space - and that's what it did! It did not look overwhelming, it was absolutely perfect. Had I gone with strictly low centerpieces, it would have been too understated and not many people would be able to see how beautiful the flowers were! Additionally, Brian was the one that suggested hanging a wreath on the front door, after doing research on the venue and seeing that in front of the door was a popular photo spot. This is something I NEVER would have thought of on my own, but it was definitely one of my favorite floral arrangements and the photos in front of the door look a million times better with the wreath! Everything was absolutely perfect, and I wouldn't change a single thing!

We had our wedding on April 20th, 2017 in Scranton, PA. We chose McCarthy Flowers very far in advance, knowing we wanted a local company who had a great reputation for taking care of all the flowers for our day. I spoke with Brian originally, who was wonderful and set up our initial appointment, as well as asking for pictures and our vision for that day. He set up our appointment with Kathi in the Scranton location and she was my point person from that day on. Kathi sat down personally with us on more than one occasion to make sure our budget needs were met, while also making sure we looked at the photos and ideas of what we wanted. We supplied our own containers, but two days before hand something went wrong with them and we were contacted that all of them were breaking. McCarthy took care of everything - and let us use containers from them at a great price. When the day came, all of the florals arrived on time and were delivered to the right areas. However, they were not exactly as we planned. We had been very specific in centerpieces that we wanted down to exact pictures of the flowers ( certain ones) and greenery. The flowers were beautiful and ended up working out for us, but initially, I was not as excited as I hoped. My personal bouquet, as well as the bridesmaids, were wonderful. We were also missing two groomsmen roses and had to call for them to be delivered. Luckily, they are local ( a great thing) and they rushed them right over. We had two large arrangements for the ceremony room, which were beautiful, but did have elements in them (large sticks coming out of the center) which were not part of the plan. We got so many compliments on all of our arrangements for our wedding, and overall McCarthy was a great company to have for our day. They were kind, very helpful and accommodating. Kathi was quick to respond to all emails and changes and took our budget into account. I was not stressed at all in the end over the flowers, and they were beautiful. Also, the containers were ours to keep, which we did not know. If we had, we would have told our guests to take them home! We ended up with all of them at the end!

The feeling is indescribable to see such perfection from all of our flowers and flawless center pieces from McCarthy Flowers. They were/are absolutely wonderful to work with and I go to them for anything I need.

Brian and his team completely outdid themselves at our wedding. Brian helped bring my vision of "vintage" and "red roses" to life, paying attention to every little detail of my venue (the Scranton Cultural Center), and making additions based on his expertise. My guests were blown away by the amount of red roses that Brian and his team had decorated with, not to mention the rose petals that accentuated every single table. And the cake, WOW. I had a simple 4 tier cake that Brian's team decorated with red roses between each tier. It looked AMAZING. I cannot say enough about Brian McCarthy, Carol, Bill and their whole team of designers! They took my vision for the wedding and completely exceeded every expectation I had. As far as value, Brian offered me a great price, which I would likely not be able to find through another local florist. He truly cares about the bride and groom and working with their budget to make their wedding day perfect!

Our flowers turned out GORGEOUS! We had a rustic-themed wedding and I wanted flower arrangements that reflected our love for this theme....no roses! The arrangements were PERFECT and I was thrilled that Cathy was able to wrap my girls' bouquets in burlap and raffia. The boutonnieres were also perfect...rustic just like the bouquets...and NO roses =).

The flowers were just shoved in the vase. My mother went through and fixed all the flowers. The bouquets were small not what I really expected but they were done nicely.

McCarthy was very responsive to our questions and emails throughout the planning process. The flowers were a little different than I expected on our wedding day, which was disappointing, but something only I noticed. Even so, everything looked good. The flowers lasted several days after the wedding.

Not much to say here. They have the reputation and they back it up. Everything went about as smoothly as it could possibly go with McCarthy. Just professional and courteous from start to finish. Honestly, it was sooooooo painless. The flowers arrived at the hotel for the bridal party and later at the venue for the moms, grams, dads and reception and ceremony. The flowers were even MORE beautiful than in the pics that we saw during out consultation. And for that matter, the consultation was painless and actually fun. Because they work with the Inne (where we had our wedding) we got the flowers at a GREAT rate...I can't promise the value is great for people who have to pay full price, but for us, we got the steal of a lifetime.

We used McCarthy Flowers in Dunmore for our wedding florist. The church altar vases were beautiful!! My bridal bouquet was beautiful also. The boutonnières for the men were very nice. The bridal party flowers and mothers' corsages were stunning also!! McCarthy Flowers also decorated our cupcake tower, and this was beautiful!! We would recommend McCarthy Flowers to anyone. McCarthy provided the flowers for my tables as well as all of the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres. So pleased with the result - they were unbelievable!

McCarthy Flowers were very helpful with our wedding. I gave them very specific ideas about what I wanted, and they were happy to work with me to give me what I wanted. What we ended up getting was slightly different than what we talked about, but it was still beautiful. I would definitely recommend McCarthy!

I am so happy I picked McCarthy Flowers for my wedding. My centerpieces were BEAUTIFUL! I received so many compliments on them throughout the reception and even weeks after my wedding. They made the room! My bridal bouquet was exactly what I asked for and I was so happy when I saw it for the first time. Kathi Knall is wonderful! She is extremely helpful and truley wants you to be happy. Kathi is also very knowledgable about flowers which was great since I didn't know much about them. She worked with me with my budget and was never annoyed when I changed what I wanted and trust me - I made changes A LOT! If you are getting married in the Northeastern PA area, I urge you to talk with Kathi and McCarthy Flowers. You will not be disappointed!

We were very happy with the way that our flowers turned out for the wedding. The bouquets were gorgeous and the flowers fresh and in season. My only issue is that some of the colors were quite different from what we had originally asked for (i.e. a deep purple vs. plum/burgundy, like we had discussed), but the resulting bouquets, centerpieces, and arrangements were still gorgeous. My only issue-we had a bit of trouble getting in touch with our main contact via email and I had to follow up several times to make sure that we were all on the same page; however, once we got closer to the date of the wedding, they were easy to reach and everything went pretty smoothly. They did get lost on the morning of the wedding, but still arrived with plenty of time to spare.

My bouquets were delivered to the wrong hotel and the error was not corrected until after I called the florist to alert them. I did not have any flowers for my walk down the aisle. My reception flowers were beautiful, but this error is huge.

I dealt with Linda at Clarks Summit location, she came to the venue and met with me a few times in store. She was a great help adn gave ideas which was awesome. Thanks :-)

I always wanted deep red roses and mini calla lillies for my wedding, but knew that they might be out of my reach as "premium" flowers. McCarthy was extreemly good with getting me what I wanted, even on a small budget. They had lots of examples so I could really imagine what I was going to recieve on the day of the wedding. It also really helped me choose my style of bouquet, etc. I was always treated as if my wedding was #1, even if it was a relativly small order- something that I did not find at other local flower shops. We had a consultation again a couple of days before the wedding to go over everything, which was great because we were able to catch a small mistake and correct it before it became an issue. We then made arrangements on where/when to deliver the flowers and we were on our way. The day of the flowers arrived not only at the correct address, but early. They were really so so beautiful too- I'm so happy I went with them as a vendor. They also had both elastics and corsage pins for the mothers/grandmothers so that they could choose how they would wear their flowers and what would work with their outfits on the day of. In the end we sacrificed size of the boquets for the quality of flower, and I really think it was the right choice- we got traditional and classy flowers from a really classy florist at an amazing price! I would totally reccomend them to any scranton area bride!

My flowers for the ceremony and reception were great and at a very reasonable price

McCarthy Flowers brought my bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets vision to life. I really wanted to use craspedia and feathers in our arrangements for a really modern fall bouquet. They were wonderful and incorporated them seamlessly. I also had them add charms to each bouquet as an extra gift for my girls. Be warned: if you want to add anything extra (like feathers, charms, etc. you must go and purchase it on your own then bring it to them.

I had a great experience with Linda at the Clark's Summit location. My step-father was our main liaison with her both before the wedding and on the day of and he was very happy as well (and he can be kind of tough to please!). My own bouquet was so beautiful and seasonal, and my bridesmaids bouquets were exactly like the picture I had provided and I loved them. Delivery on the day of was on time and friendly, we had no problems with them at all! I don't know how the value was as I did not pay for them but my step-father said he was happy with the cost and said it was well worth it for the service and quality. Also my bouquet lasted a week! I am from out-of-state but all my phone calls with Linda were informative and helpful.

They did a great job with the centerpieces. We had fall flowers and the bouquets for the bridal party were beautiful with orange lilies, green hydrangea and sunflowers. They also decorated our cake and did the cake topper which was beautiful and not overdone. The only disappointment I had was that the men's boutonnieres were supposed to be orange roses and they looked pink.

I had the worst experience with them. First of all my initial consultation was so frustrating. Carol who I met with just couldn't seem to understand what I wanted and just sat there & offered no suggestions. Finally I thought we were on the same page, howerver on my wedding day my boquet was a mess. There were random clumps of bright pink flowers when I asked for light pink. When I called to complain the manager told me that she made the boquet but Carol another employee my consulation and she just followed what was written down on paper. Then she told me that she couldn't refund my money becaue I was undercharged...as if that was my fault! She was so unapologetic and actually had the nerve to say that she couldn't go back in time and fix it...well thats exactly the point. BTW Remick is also part of the same company and one of my friends used them for her wedding and found them to be quite a disaster as well. Please go with someone else...they are so rude!
