McGovern's On The Water

I can’t even begin to explain how absolutly perfect our wedding day was. We were just looking to have a fun party with our family and friends but we ended up having the fairytail wedding we never even knew we wanted! We selected Mcgoverns because we had done many events with them in the past and the food and service was always great and their packages included so many of the extras that other venues charge alot extra for (cake, centerpieces, linens). But little did we know the way they handle weddings is on a whole other level! Kathy was always so great with all the planning and so enthusiastic and detailed! I’m the fourth daughter and my parents have been through this 3 times prior and every time we met with her they couldn’t get over all the details she covered and were kicking themselves for not having considered them in the past. Everything was so beautiful and the food was endless and delicious. And above all else was Joey! Oh my god, I can’t even express how amazing he was. He made sure we had everything we needed before we even needed it, he bustled my dress once pictures were over, he let us know when we needed to be somewhere (because you tend to lose track of time) and he made sure everthing was perfect for us at every moment. I used to roll my eyes when people would say their wedding was the best day ever but it was truely amazing!

I did not have the same experience as everyone else, I actually did not have my wedding here I only viewed it as a possible venue. I met with Kathy, her family owns McGovern's and from the second I met her I realized that if I chose to have my wedding there none of the decision making would be mine. Kathy was a very nice lady but a bit aggressive for me. I told her what our wedding colors were and she suggested a completely different color because she thought that it looked nice. I explained that we wanted a small wedding cake tier and the rest cupcakes, she told me that I need to think about my guest and that's not what guests would want. I explained to her numerous times that we were doing a non-religious ceremony and she went as far as telling me I'll need a minister and then a prayer at my wedding. She had no menus design for us to choose from she wrote three options that she could do. She was appalled when I told her that we were hiring a baker to make our cake because that's something that she does. Put all of that together with the fact that they do multiple weddings at the same time and the fact that there was fruit flies flying around the sorbe she served us or the fact that the bathroom smelt like urine. I was completely disgusted by McGovern's I would never eat there let alone ever get married there.

Kathy at McGovern's is so amazing. She helps you from the moment you walk in the door. The whole staff make you feel welcome and at home. It didn't matter how long it had been since the last appointment she still knew who I was and they didn't mind when I called to ask questions or bug them about something. They were amazing. Kathy helps you plan the day from start to finish. They did the ceremony there and the reception and they even made my cake! They made my life so much easier. I didn't have to rush around to figure out where everything was coming from or anything. I dropped everything off the week before the wedding so I didn't have to bring anything but myself the day of. They made sure everything went smooth the day of. Their server Joey was right next to me if I needed anything. If I started looking a little stressed he was right there. "What do you need?" I definitely would recommend them to anyone!

I can not say enough good things about McGovern's! It was very easy to work with them and the wedding folder they give you is a lifesaver! It was very affordable but absolutely beautiful. There was way too much food and all of it tasted AMAZING! Our personal waiter Joey was also incredible! I highly recommend McGovern's for any wedding reception!

McGovern's on the Water was the best choice we could have made for our wedding venue. Throughout the whole planning process Kathy and Ramona helped us through each step and spent countless hours guiding us. Our wedding day went beautifully and we have McGovern's to thank.

I had never been or heard of McGovern’s before starting to search for wedding venues. I can’t remember how exactly I found the website, but I remember seeing the gazebo over the water wanted to check them out. As soon as we got there, I was in love. My Fiance at the time kept telling me to keep an open mind, but I was sold. After meeting with Kathy, I knew this is where I was going to get married. Still my Fiance wanted me to keep an open mind because this was the first place we had checked out. Kathy had let us customize a package within our budget. I hadn’t realized we could afford such an extravagant wedding! The pricing was perfect! Beat the other venues we had checked out by far! Throughout the year that we were planning our wedding, we had several meetings with Kathy. She wanted to make sure that our wedding planning was going smoothly. She offered helpful suggestions and gave us great recommendations. Not only did we work with Kathy, but Ramona and Joyce were big helpers as well! We had a taste testing of the food and holy delicious! We thought they were kidding when they said no one will go home hungry! The day of the wedding was amazing!! Kathy and the head waiter Joey went above and beyond to make our day so special. The ceremony went off without a hitch, even though it had been raining. My heart was set on having my ceremony outside in the gazebo and they were very accommodating to my wants. They quickly set out tents for our guests and gathered as many umbrellas as they could so my husband and I could have our dream wedding. After the ceremony, the cocktail hour started and the food was amazing! They had decorated the hall and placed all my DIY items and personal items just the way we had discussed in our meetings. Dinner service was great and the flaming dessert was a huge hit! Everyone was amazed at the presentation of the dessert. Our wedding was absolutely incredible, astounding, amazing, etc! We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or superior staff!! Kathy, Ramona, Joey, and Joyce were awesome! They truly made our day special!!

The most affordable, organized, friendly place for a wedding. They gave me my dream wedding at such an amazing price. I'm forever grateful for their help!
