McHale's Events & Catering delivers creative catering and remarkable venue experiences in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas. From elegant halls and historic landmarks to blank canvas settings, there is certainly no shortage of amazing spaces to pick from. Facilities and Capacity McHale’s Events & Catering has several elaborate wedding venue event spaces that couples can use to host their special events. These venues include The Cincinnati Club, The Gardens of Park Hills, The Grand Ballroom, The Pinnacle Ballroom, Drees Pavilion and The Center at Fountain Square. The Cincinnati Club displays art deco-inspired architecture and possesses an ability to transport guests back in time to an era of old-world charm and nostalgia. The venue has four elegant gala halls in which to host a special wedding celebration and is ideally located. The Gardens of Park Hills contains the Vista Room and Arbor Room, each as equally sophisticated as the next. The Vista Room is a Tuscan-style event space, reflecting an atmosphere of luxury with marble accents and a neutral color palette throughout. The Arbor Room provides ample space to have an extravagant wedding celebration. It features vintage black and gold ornaments with a low ceiling and an elevated stage. The Grand Ballroom has an air of eternal affluence and features gorgeous chandeliers and massive windows that let natural light cascade in. The Pinnacle Ballroom can be found atop the same building as the Grand Ballroom and is an enchanting atmosphere in which to host a celebratory occasion. It features a 26-foot ceiling made of knotty pine that sits above a 25-foot circular dance floor. The Drees Pavilion is a glamorous location providing both outdoor ceremony spaces such as the gazebo and terrace as well as a refined indoor ballroom. The room's panoramic views of the cityscape skyline are a particular drawing card for this event space. The Center at Fountain Square is located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. Spacious, simple and chic, The Center is the perfect blank canvas to let your personality shine bright during your event. Services Offered McHale’s Events & Catering provides handcrafted cuisine, a variety of creative catering menus and a culinary presentation to match your event. Couples can work with the chefs to create their desired menu that caters to any specific dietary requirements and allergy restrictions of their guests. The catering department can arrange a host of dishes in a series of serving styles, from butler passed hors d'oeuvres to buffets and plated dishes.

My fiance and I hired McHales to cater our big day and we all know the food is a main remembrance point of the reception. Let me break it down for all of you so that you understand what you're getting if you decide to go with McHales for import...
ant events.
Our venue did not have a kitchen. A normal person would think that the food would end up being soggy and room temperature from preparation and traveling right? Wrong. The food came out fresh, warm, and decidedly not soggy. We chose to go the station route with 3 different food choices thinking that people would be able to better avoid foods they weren't interested in. We were not prepared for the fact that all 3 stations were absolutely fantastic.
While our guests were filling their plates with what we assumed was "average catering food", the McHales staff were doting on our (Bride & Groom) every need. Phyllis, the Manager for our event, introduced herself to us and came across as very pleasant and benign. Plates of food would magically appear at our table and empty ware would vanish when our backs were turned. I was very impressed with her (and her team's) service.
The food we were being served wasn't the "average catering food" I mentioned earlier. It. Was. Phenomenal. I swear that I could sense the aura of hubris emanating from the food. The self-righteous confidence was palpable in the air. My fiance and I could feel it in our stomachs, nay, we could feel it in the depths of our soul. The attention and affection that we expected from our guests was no more. The recognition was instead being directed towards the inanimate objects of sustenance that were simply there to fuel the dance moves for the night. Instead of getting photos with the bride, our guests were 'instagramming' their pasta & shrimp.
Phyllis catered to our every need. Not even a glint of fraud was detected from her throughout the entire night. McHale's took the most important night of our lives and usurped it with delicious food.
Could not have been happier with McHale's during our wedding planning process. Not only were they so responsive throughout the whole process but so helpful every step of the way. Would recommend this company to anyone asking!

t my decision of choosing McHales and wish I would have gone with someone else. McHales is reasonably priced (for a wedding caterer) and the food was pretty good. However, the service was lacking. I provided the caterer with a day of timeline to manage when people needed to get their salads, when they were going to start going through the food line, etc. We were given a day of catering manager who was supposed to keep everything on schedule, but during the event, she was almost no where to be found (we had to hunt her down several times). My husband and I were supposed to be introduced at 7:25 and when we came in the building, everyone was still mingling. One of our ushers and the grooms dad had to make sure everyone got to their seats, without any help from the catering team! During the dinner portion of the event, my family and I had to hunt everyone down in order for people to start being served food (including for our vendors!) I don't feel like this was great service when the bride is trying to make sure everyone eats. Because of this mess up, our speeches were delayed by almost an hour, which caused us to lose 45 minutes of listening to a band we paid a lot of money for. After looking back on my wedding, this is the biggest piece I would have done differently. If you are having a wedding, I would not recommend McHales as a caterer.

the service staff, led by Phyllis. My husband says he needs a Phyllis at home all the time.... We enjoyed going to their kitchen to taste the plethora of meal options, even down to the salads. The staff was helpful with suggestions and pairings. On the day of the wedding, the staff made sure that everyone's meals and dietary restrictions were accommodated for. We loved that we were able to incorporate a Graeter's ice cream sundae bar into the reception and the premium bar offerings. At the end of the night, the staff made sure that we were able to eat whatever ice cream flavor we had asked be kept aside for ourselves and packaged up the remaining meals for us to decide whether to keep for ourselves or give to the band or other staff.

Lindsay was incredibly responsive and gave such great advice and feedback anytime I had any questions. We even had a few dietary restrictions and McHale's was so accommodating to those needs and everyone talked about how great the food and presentation was. We live in Lexington so I was initially concerned about the planning process being over an hour away. Lindsay and McHale's were beyond flexible with us which made the planning process stress free. They catered to each of our requests including adding vegan meals for a few of our guests. Our guests had such great things to say about the food and their service. The food was excellent. They thought of everything including boxing up myself and my husband food for our hotel room as well as wedding cake. We were so very pleased with the staff the day of our wedding as well. What more, is no food was prepared by McHales but they insisted we pay for a chef onsite even though they told us we didn't need one until the last minute. On top of this, our wedding happened during a huge winter storm and 30 to 40 of our guests could not make it due to flight cancellations but McHales still charged us the fee per headfor our original guest count (which I guess is fair considering the contract, but not good customer service). They did a great job at sticking to our timeline and I had no complaints about the bar service (I was initially concerned 2 bartenders wouldn't be enough to serve guests at an open bar) however they kept up and kept things running smoothly! The manager, Jeremy, was very attentive to me all night making sure I had everything I wanted and made sure my glass was never empty! I also appreciated that they lacked my fiancé and I a full meal to-go box, which we promptly ate as soon as we got to the hotel room after the wedding. I would highly recommend them!

uestions. The tasting was great, we weren't able to attend the buffet style tasting event but did a chefs table that was great. We only tasted about half the entree options but were able to pick what we wanted from that. The meat was cooked very well- no rubber chicken or dried out pork. ause we chose the buffet, the carver was able to give each person their preference from rare to medium well. The staff was great-we had planned to spend some time taking pictures before dinner and they held all of the food for us so that we could do that. I appreciated how accommodating they were and that they packed up leftovers for us to take back. We had some guests who needed accommodations due to Ramadan and the staff was happy to help with that as well. The food and service were excellent and I could not have been more pleased with how our rehearsal dinner went. We decorated the tables with collectibles from our different hobbies-dance, Star Trek, LOTR, Doctor Who and the staff was great at helping get that setup and packed up at the end of the night. They were great at letting us know when the bar was closing so everyone could get a last drink etc.
Communication between us and McHale's went very smoothly. After the tasting and up to the day-of, so both my fiance-now husband- and I knew what to expect as well as pricing estimates etc. We had a number of questions for McHale's and our planner Jen was knowledgeable and able to answer all of them, which we both appreciated. We could not have asked for better responsiveness from our planner.
We really appreciate all of the work that went into making our rehearsal dinner a perfect start to our wedding weekend. We felt the catering was a good value for the quality of service and food that we received and I would definitely recommend McHale's for anyone looking for a caterer for their events.

The McHale's team was quick to accommodate, and it was wonderful meeting the chef at our tasting. Crowd favorites were the sun dried tomato chicken and mashed potatoes. We so loved working with Lisa on the wedding cake, which was nothing short of spectacular. She turned a few ideas into something absolutely beautiful (and delicious). Our guests raved about the food, especially the cake! The staff was so fun and engaging that a few of our guests even tried to convince them to join us on the dance floor (which we would have loved)! Everyone had just an amazing attitude and was a pleasure to work with.

ing stages up to the actual reception. We had a pretty large wedding about 280 people and everything went smoothly. We dealt with Brent and she really made us feel comfortable and walked us through everything.
Last, but not least, we had McHales make the wedding cake. I sent them a picture of what I hoped it would look like and they exceeded my expectations. It was a New Year Eve wedding and the top layer of the cake was made to look like a champagne bucket. She made a champagne bottle out of modeling chocolate to go inside the bucket. It was so beautiful and unique. Lisa Carter made the cake.

geable, nice, flexible, accommodating, and organized. She always answered my questions in a timely manner, and was great about handling all of our requests. In the end, everything came together exactly as we had planned, thanks to Cassie.
As for the day of the wedding, our reception went off without a hitch thanks to Millie and her staff. Millie was the reception manager and handled everything with professionalism and kindness. She would check with me and the groom several times throughout the evening to make sure we were OK, had everything we needed, and if there was anything she could do. Of course, everything was always fine because the staff was just so on top of everything! We had no problems with the food, the gifts, the alcohol, the clean-up, or, most importantly, the guests. We were able to completely enjoy the evening while the staff worked hard to keep everything running smoothly.
The day after, our families had nothing but amazing reviews for the McHale's staff and the Marquise banquet room. They thought the room was beautiful, and they thought the staff went above and beyond. Even my mother-in-law, who is super-organized and was planning to do a lot of the clean up, was very impressed with Millie and the staff on how they handled left-overs and organizing the clean up at the end of the night.
And I cannot forget THE FOOD. It was amazing! Luckily, McHale's hosts menu tastings throughout the year, and we were able to attend one four months before the wedding. You were able to try everything buffet-style (which helped because we were having a buffet). We went with top round steak and a panko-crusted tilapia as our meats. You may think, "Fish on a buffet?" No, believe me, it is amazing! And as for the reception dinner itself, every guest raved about the fish. It was a hit! And the buffet was great because everyone got just the amount they needed and were able to go back for more.
As you can tell, I have nothing but great things to say about our wedding reception at the Marquise. Needless to say, the staff realizes how important the day is to you and handles the planning and execution with nothing but professionalism. They made the wedding party feel special and made the guests feel comfortable. Our night was a 5-star experience, and I truly thank McHale's for all their help.
I can honestly say McHale's will handle your event just the way you want it, and your day/night will be just as special as you always imagined it.
