Kayla and her staff are the best! Not only did they accommodate my schedule so my Mom could be there when I found my perfect gown, but they held my hand through the ordering & customization process so that I was confident my dress would arrive as planned, despite the tight timeline (under 6 months). My mother also bought her dress at Melissa Ashley and it was gorgeous. From multiple try-ons to honest advice and creative problem-solving when the designer made a small mistake, Kayla handled everything confidently so I never worried about a thing. The vibe in the shop is welcoming and friendly. I'm so happy our paths crossed at a bridal expo, just in time for me to find an amazing dress!

The owner is so nice and she steamed my wedding dress for me the day before my wedding so it would like beautiful and perfect on my big day!

I was married on 4/27/19. I purchased my wedding dress from here, all the bridesmaid dresses and my mother-in-law purchased two outfits. We all loved working with the Melissa Ashley staff. They were so great with assisting with styles and sizes. Two of my bridesmaids were pregnant on my wedding day and one was pregnant during the fitting and their dresses fit perfectly the day of. I highly recommend Melissa Ashley brides.

This was the first dress shop I went to and I had a wonderful experience! As a plus size bride I was concerned that my options would be limited as far as things to try on and that I would need kind of guess how the dresses would look on me but that was not the case!! They had many options in the style I was looking for and I was able to try many on to get an idea of fit and style! It was a wonderful surprise that I truly appreciated. They were helpful and honest and I found my dream dress!! The dress was made to my exact measurements which made for no alterations except for a bustle. I ended up going back with my grandmother to find a dress for her and she had a great experience as well. She is very tall with a small top and larger bottom. She was able to find dresses that suited her and were flattering and couldn't have found a more perfect dress! The staff was super helpful, friendly and not pushy. The prices were varied and reasonable and all of the dresses were beautiful. It was a goal of mine to support local businesses for my wedding vendors and I am so happy I got my dress here!

This is my review as MOB. If you are looking for an affordable dress then this is probably the place to go as their two main providers will interchange tops and skirts without any problem allowing you to have a semi-custom dress at an affordable price. Our sales consultant Nicole was great and very helpful and attentive to my DD. Dress selection is very good for brides looking for illusion, lace, sequin or in general sparkles. Dress selection also very good for bridesmaid dresses. However, the primary reason for my 3 star review is that the place to me is a dump. The carpet is threadbare, the furniture worn, and the place in general feels filthy. So if you are looking for a more bridal shopping environment, go elsewhere. Going to Melissa Ashley to find my wedding gown was a dream come true! The shop is small and locally owned, but they still have an extensive collection of gowns, each one more beautiful than the next. Denise and the other girls who work there are the best! They are honest, down to earth, and work with you on exactly what your vision and budget are -- with their help, my gown was the first one I tried on! They were willing to let me come in and try on the dress again once it came in, and worked with Maria down the street for alterations, so the entire process was smooth and stress free. Denise even honored a discount for me that started the following week after I bought the gown, was always very responsive to any question I had, and took care of sending the gown off afterward for cleaning/preservation for only 200$, so I didn't have to worry about that. Melissa Ashley is the BEST!

I found my DREAM wedding dress here at Melissa Ashley Brides in Westerly! They have so many beautiful dresses to pick from! I went with the perfect big, tulle princess gown for my wedding day and the staff at Melissa Ashley were so sweet and helpful! I feel like they are family. I also found my 7 bridesmaids dresses here AND my two mother of the bride dresses!!! They made sure my whole wedding party and I looked amazing! Now, I am a bridesmaid for my best friend and I look forward to picking our dresses next week at Melissa Ashley!

They were amazing to work with! First attempt at dresses went awful. I was nervous and disinterested in trying on dresses until I walked into their store!

The woman who helped me was super nice and helpful but I did not like any of the dresses I tried on. My friend said she felt like the dresses were all like costumes.

Denis was absolutely amazing with everything that I needed, I loved my dress and the whole experience, she made everything as easy as possible for me and my brides maids. I don't how smooth this experience would of have been without her, but I'm glad I didn't have to find out.

I went into dress shopping for myself with an open mind. Denise pulled every style she thought would look on me and what I said I would like. She gave an honest option, which every bride needs on her wedding dress. She pulled the perfect dress for me and what I have envisioned in my mind for my wedding. It was everything I said I liked and even when I was torn between two dresses, she gave me her honest option of which one was most flattering to my figure and which dress I had the bigger smile in. I felt absolutely stunning in my dress from Melissa Ashley LTD.

Honestly, I can't say enough positive things about Denise (the owner) and her staff (Sonia specifically). They were absolutely amazing throughout my dress finding and altering process. Anytime I came in they made me feel so at home and they were honest about whether or not they liked dresses that I was trying on. They were able to order out for dresses too (which Denise did) and my dress ended up being perfect!!! Maria from La Sarta Maria did my alterations and she did a fantastic job as well! This is the best spot to buy a dress from! You won't be disappointed and I will be taking all of my family and friends here to look for a dress! Thank you Denise, Sonia, and Maria! Denise at Melissa Ashley knows her dresses. She found one for me that I did not like on the hanger but turned out to be the most beautiful dress when I put it on. She worked with me on the sash to form the perfect dress. Highly recommended!

I bought my wedding gown and accessories from Denise at Melissa-Ashley. Her memory is incredible and she has an amazing talent at matching brides to dresses and finding the right accessories. She's a ton of fun to work with and she really knows her stuff. One thing to be cautious of when going there is it may be hard to get really dedicated attention. Denise is usually running around and may help you for a few minutes, then get distracted by something else for a while (sometimes a long while) before coming back to you. If you can get one of the associates to help you then you'll get a little more dedicated attention, but Denise is the one with the experience and knack for finding the right dress and accessories so you tend to want her attention. If you don't mind being patient and waiting for her - I recommend going during the week on off hours - then you definitely won't be disappointed with Melissa-Ashley. She's also very open to having you get your dress altered somewhere else, so you're not locked into their seamstress for your fittings and alterations if there is someone you trust or that is closer to where you live.

This was only the 2nd dress shop I went to, and the last stop. Wonderful, helpful staff, and absolutely beautiful wedding dresses at affordable prices. Definitely better than going to the big chain stores like Davids Bridal

I went to see Denise at Melissa Ashley’s in Westerly based on some RAVE reviews from a friend. From the moment we started our appointment, Denise and her team of consultants were OUTSTANDING. One of them actually picked out the dress I ended up buying based on what I had said I wanted (but didn’t end up picking myself). What really sets Melissa Ashley’s apart though was when I ran into some problems with another bridal store where I purchased my bridesmaids dresses (BIG MISTAKE…just buy from Melissa Ashley’s!) Denise went out of her way to help me, set up appointments with the seamstress, Maria (right down the street from Melissa Ashley's) and made sure everything was all set with dresses that weren’t even purchased from her store. The week of my wedding, Denise called me to make sure I was all set with everything for the wedding, I couldn’t believe it! She wanted to know if I needed anything and asked when I would be in to the seamstress to pick up my dress. When I went to pick up all the dresses she had put a veil that I mentioned I liked with my dress, just to make sure I had a veil (even though I purchased one from Etsy). Denise met me and my family at the seamstress and gave me her best wishes (and a few hugs!) and made sure I was all set. This woman went above and beyond to make my entire wedding dress experience absolutely perfect. I CANNOT say enough wonderful things about her and the Melissa Ashley store. She was so easy to work with, so positive and so very honest and helpful. I also HIGHLY recommend Maria at La Sarta Maria for a seamstress. Every girl gets a bit nervous about handing your wedding dress over to someone who is going to rip, cut and sew it back together but after meeting with her and seeing what incredible work she does my entire family and bridal party made an appointment with her. It’s was such a weight lifted off my shoulders when I knew I didn't have to worry about my dress because of these two AMAZING women!!

Denise & Maria at Melissa Ashley Brides are so wonderful! I have been shopping here for years for bridesmaids dresses and when it was my turn, I knew there was no other place to shop for my wedding dress! Denise probably thought I was crazy because I picked my dress after trying on only 5 or 6 gowns. She measured me and when my dress came in, it needed 1 minor alteration. The dress was made for me and she knew it. She is so talented, loves what she does, and makes shopping for your wedding gown a really special experience.

The employees at Melissa Ashley's were wonderful. They were very friendly, and helped me find my perfect dress! There was an order mix up however, and the wrong dress came in. I was able to use a sample dress that no one had tried on though. I would not use the alterations they provide though as my bridesmaids dresses took forever to come in (over 6 months,) and then they kept forgetting to alter some of them. My dress was also not properly altered. Overall, they have lovely dresses at a great price with a very friendly staff. I would most certainly go back, but find somewhere else for my purchase to get altered.

Thanks to Denise and the ladies at Melissa Ashley Brides for giving me the best wedding dress experience. They were patient through the dress selection process and recommended an amazing dress that worked great with my shape and personality. The team is knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. They put me in the dress of my dreams and made me feel like a VIP each time I was there. An extra special bonus is their relationship with seamstress Marie Francese from La Sarta Maria down the street, the two work together on alterations creating a “one stop shopping” experience that can’t be beat. I highly recommend working with these ladies for an amazing dress and as amazing service.

We had an out of state wedding in RI and drove in from CT a few days before. I thought it would be easy to find a dry cleaner that could steam and press my dress, and double check it to get any spots out. I was way wrong! After driving around and calling several cleaners, we drove by the Melissa Ashley shop, which was closed, I got out to check the hours and Denise happened to be driving by. She parked and took me inside, said they could clean up my dress no problem! I went back the day before the wedding to pick it up and it looked beautiful! I can't thank her enough for helping me out, and I didn't even get my dress there!

When my mom, sister and I stopped by Melissa Ashley , it was only 2 weeks after I had gotten engaged and we planned to make a quick trip just to get an idea of what I was looking for. When we got there, I described what I had in my mind for my dress and Denise was able to pull 5 or 6 dresses that she thought I'd like. All of them were great, but after trying on 3, she realized she had a better one that would be perfect. And it was. Exactly what I had wanted, absolutely perfect! Also got my veil from here, which they had a good selection and helped me get the exact style that I wanted

Great service, always remembered me and helped me out promptly when i came the the shop. Shipped dresses to my girls because some of them lived out of state.

Personable, friendly. They did not make me feel like a number.
