While the location has the potential to be beautiful, we were beyond disappointed with the overall experience.
My friend was married at Merrimack Valley Golf Club this month. As ...
a member of the wedding party I was apart of the planning from start to finish. And at almost every opportunity they failed to deliver. The lack of professionalism and poor communication was evident in almost every interaction.
To start, the quoted price for the meal was guaranteed to fluctuate no more than a set percent. But well exceed that quote when the time came for payment. The bride and groom had to pivot and select a different menu to stay on budget.
The rain option (plan B) was a separate event space and we were told if no one had booked it. It would be made available for our use. Less than 1 month prior to the wedding the bride checked and was willing to put down a deposit for this additional space but was told not to worry. That no one had booked it and probably wouldn’t. Then on the Sunday before the wedding she received a text from the event coordinator that there was interest in the space and that if they wanted it for the 30 minute ceremony they would have to put down $1000 to secure it.
The event coordinator was snarky with me personally when she was late to the rehearsal and on several other occasions. She stopped communicating almost entirely with the bride. For someone in a manager level position she lacked the organizational and interpersonal skills required to handle herself professionally and did not represent the company well.
The correct tables were not set up at the rehearsal and we were reassured that it would be taken care of by the morning. We were unable to set up the guest book/memories/and seating table as planned. So several members of the brides family came early the next morning to do that. But the tables were still not set up as promised. So they handled it day of.
Also, at the rehearsal we were informed that regardless of the weather we would not be permitted to hold the ceremony outside as planned. It had rained hard on Friday and the grounds would be too wet to be on Saturday. As this is a golf course we were upset but again pivoted. That is until we arrived Saturday and not only was there golfers out on the grounds but the golf carts as well. Really goes to show you the priority of the venue is not to deliver on what was promised.
I would strongly advise any couple to consider alternative location for their special day! And hopefully the management team is able to address these egregious wrong doings to better serve their clientele in the future.
We strongly advise exercising extreme caution when considering Merrimack Valley Golf Club (MVGC) based on our personal experience hosting our wedding there. The event planning, whi...
ch was overseen by Blue Birch Management LLC, left us profoundly disappointed and disheartened. To put it simply, our encounter was a complete disaster. Where should we even begin? Our entire journey was plagued by gaslighting, inconsistent communication, unprofessionalism, deception, fear tactics, and numerous other problems. As if that weren't enough, after our wedding, my cousin posted an honest review on Google (because, well, it's 2023, and word of mouth carries significant weight). Shockingly, during my honeymoon, the owner had the audacity to email me and issue threats, attempting to manipulate me into pressuring my cousin to remove her truthful review of her own experience. This blatant display of intimidation and fear tactics not only demonstrates highly unethical behavior but also violates the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA) established by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Furthermore, they also resorted to threatening another couple who recently got married at the venue, warning them about their negative reviews. These experiences compelled me to share my own review, although I am limited by the constraints of review platforms. I have much more to express (four pages' worth), but unfortunately, the platform restricts me. However, if you are interested in hearing further details about my personal experience, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Rest assured, we refuse to be intimidated into removing our posts, as we are protected by the law. My name is Tiffany Fontaine, and I encourage you to verify my credibility. It is disheartening to witness their desperate attempts to tarnish my character. This venue should be avoided for your wedding, especially when the management team is so insecure about negative reviews. It now becomes clear why they have absolutely no recent reviews. A business that attacks its own customers and guests instead of making positive efforts to improve tells you everything you need to know.
Unfortunately, my wife and I had a terrible experience with this venue for our wedding this week. Event Manager Jen was complacent and displayed a lack of professionalism. Communic...
ation was a issue and this venue made it clear that once they have your money, they will do the bare minimum.
They charge 3x the price for weddings then they do for social events. I spent a month and a half talking to them, so excited that they fit in my price range. Turns out, they sent m...
e the wrong package. Their sit down dinner social events cost ~$21 pp whereas their weddings cost ~$75 pp.
I understand that there is a price gap between a regular event and a wedding. But I think this is a huge price price jump for a single venue.
There are DEFINITELY better venues out there for less than $75 a head, in my opinion.
Very beautiful area, inside and out. It’s reasonably priced based on how beautiful this location is. The staff are great, and made sure everything came together perfectly.
“It was an awesome wedding!” is all that I can keep saying. We chose this location because of beautiful views, the look of the bar area for the cocktail hour and the elegance of th...
e ballroom. We wound up with so much more. Our guests raved about the food. During the cocktail hour the passed appetizers were hot and delicious (this is according to the guests since I was working with room with my husband saying hello to everyone). A favorite was the fried raviolis. There were plenty of wait staff with trays and guests were able to try everything.
The entrees were served quickly and I heard from so many how much they liked the meal. The glazed carrots were cooked perfectly.
The fried dough towards the end of the night was perfect and went quickly as guests are ready for a round of snacks by then.
The views at sunset were gorgeous and we were able to take pictures on the deck overlooking the golf course. We had our ceremony upstairs with the sun coming down. Breathtaking is the only word to describe the backdrop.
Carissa worked with us from our first visit to the club right up through the wedding. She and Sam made sure all of my questions were answered, that every detail was taken care of and that our wedding was exactly what we imagined. They were extremely responsive to my emails and calls and never made me feel like I was overthinking things.
It was the perfect night at the perfect location!
I had my wedding at MVGC on September 15, 2018 they were absolutely amazing!
Not only did they make my wedding day a day ill never forget, but the day before my wedding the place ...
i was to have my rehearsal dinner was closed due to the explosions in Andover. MMGC and Simply Elegant was able to accommodate my wedding party and myself within just a few short hours. They served a beautiful and delicious Italian buffet and a private room for us all.
They were always so easy to get in touch with and answered every concerned i had right away. They worked so great together the day of and made everything so smoothly. They decorated the venue so elegant and beautiful just like i had imagined. Every vendor they had recommended in there vendor package was great to work with as well. The food was out of this world, I got compliment after compliment even to this day about how perfect the food was. I cannot say enough great things about Simply Elegant Catering and highly recommend them.

ering did a phenomenal job. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. I received so many compliments. Michele, Sam, Carissa, & Stephanie are a great team. There were no issues with communication, and they were very flexible. The planning process was extremely easy due to their experience, and they even made helpful recommendations for the other vendors we worked with. On the day of the wedding, things went very smoothly. I cannot say enough great things about the Simply Elegant Catering team and highly recommend them.
We can't say enough great things about this venue! We got married here on September 24, 2017 and everything was perfect. This venue is truly a hidden gem. When we first saw it and ...
met with Michele, we knew right away it was the perfect setting for our day. The vendor package was a huge help and we loved that all the vendors were familiar with MVGC as well as each other. This ensured the whole day went flawlessly. It was so amazing to walk into the venue the day of, and have the vision for your dream wedding executed perfectly. Our guests are still raving about all the food especially the donut wall! The sunsets here are seriously gorgeous and made for some amazing pictures! Thank you Michele, Sam and their team for helping us create our dream wedding!
We could not have picked a better wedding venue for our special day! We got married here on September 16, 2017 and from the day we booked until the day of the wedding we could not ...
have been happier. Michele was great to work with and quick to respond to any questions when planning. The day of, Michele and her group were able to turn our vision into reality. We have had numerous guests mention how beautiful the venue/wedding was. HIGHLY recommend if considering a golf club wedding venue. Price/Service/View are top notch! Thank you Michele & MVGC staff!

We got married here on November 19, 2016 and everything was perfect! Our guests raved about the food and the staff was wonderful to work with!

hey are such hard workers and will do anything to make you happy. They were so organized and helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process. I had several questions throughout the year of planning and Michele would respond to me within minutes. She is amazing! The venue is absolutely stunning and the view is picture perfect! We were thrilled with our food choices and have received compliments a month later about how tasty it was. The entire staff here is so helpful and will do whatever it takes to make all guests comfortable. I highly recommend Merrimack Valley Golf Club for your wedding! My husband and I were so happy with our wedding night and we owe a lot of credit to the hard work put in by Michele, Sam and their staff.
We got married here last weekend and it was flawless!!! The vendor package made planning so easy and day of, everything just fell into place without us having to do anything. The p...
referred vendors were all fantastic and very familiar with the site as well as with each other! The staff at MVGC were all so nice and accommodating! Very helpful with ideas but not pushy at all and super laid back day of! The setting is beautiful and the food was great! Especially the late night snacks!! If you want a gorgeous wedding at an affordable rate, choose MVGC!
I don't think I can put into words how amazing and memorable my whole experience was working with Michele and Sam and having our wedding at the MVGC. I feel so blessed to have rand...
omly found this venue while I was browsing online, it was meant to be! Our day turned out perfectly, and I owe SO much of that to Michele and Simply Elegant Catering!! This was the first venue I visited, and after meeting with Michele and hearing from her how she would be there to take care of the details, to answer any questions or concerns I had, to make sure everything throughout the day runs smoothly, etc... I almost signed the papers right then and there! Instead, I think I did a week later ;)
Throughout the whole wedding planning process Michele was there for me when I needed her, she was SO helpful and quick to respond for questions I had and offering advice, she knew what she was doing and I had so much faith in her! Having Michele there gave me SO much relief - I knew she was there taking care of business so I had nothing to worry about on my wedding day, and THAT is a huge blessing in itself!! The caterers were fantastic and very efficient. They made sure our bridal party was being served hors d'oeuvres and beverages during cocktail hour, and they even made sure a caterer reached out to my husband and I and had us tell her when we wanted to eat so our food didn't get cold! On top of the food was INCREDIBLE, we had so many guests come up to us raving about the food! Michele also coordinated with all of my other vendors making sure everyone knew when to come and what to do so I didn't have to worry about anything! And the VIEWS of this venue are BREATHTAKING!! If you can't tell already, I can't say enough AMAZING things about SEC and the MVGC!! I very highly and very strongly recommend them to anyone!
I got married this past October there. I was in love with the scenery, the ceremony Outline the food tasting was incredible. Unfortunately the day of the wedding I was not thrilled...
. The food was not at all what we had tasted. We got the surf and turf, and when we had the tastingredients the lobster tail was served in the shell, and at the wedding it was not. Alot of guest complained that they did not know what it was and thought it was shrimp. Also we had tasted the honey glazed carrots and fell in love and it was a must for the wedding. Wellll the day of the wedding we got steamed carrots with what tasted like cinnamon sprinkled on it, and to top it off, the food was not hot. I was so disappointed!!! Michele and Sam were great, unfortunately the food was not, and I was really thrown back with what I thought wold have been a dream wedding, turned out to just be ok. We also had the afterglow menu, which was never announced to guest, and by the time word got around, it was already being brought back to the kitchen. I never even saw what it looked like or tasted like!!!! For the money spent, which was not an issue, I expected alot more. I would recommend this place for the scenery and view, but for nothing else unfortunately.
Merrimack Valley Golf Club and Simply Elegant Catering made sure my wedding was everything I wanted. The venue itself is gorgeous, clean and a blank slate waiting for you to put yo...
ur touches on. The white walls, detailed ceiling and warm tones take to uplighting well and completely transform the space. The floors were gorgeous and helped create an elegant and intimate space. The outdoor ceremony space is breathtaking and is the perfect background for your vows or photos. Michelle Ambra and her team of coordinators stayed in contact with me from day one, and took care of everything I needed that day from start to finish!
I would recommend this venue to any bride looking for both a gorgeous ceremony and reception place in one! Plus, the prices and packages were reasonably priced!
The view is to die at the outdoor ceremony spot. However, to the right there is people's homes. You can bet they will be out on their decks watching you get married! Ballroom is ab...
solutely gorgeous, neutral colors, and dark cherry hardwood floors which I loved.
We were on a tight budget as my (now) husband and I were paying for a majority of our wedding on our own, and is military. We didn't want to sacrifice anything for our big day for ...
our tight budget. MVGC gives you breath-taking views and rooms and is your bang for your buck! Especially since they newly added their vendor package (at the time of booking this wasn't available) helped us majorly! All the vendors that were a part of the package were very professional and reliable and saved us so much! The day went so quickly but it will be a day to remember! Michele and her staff are more than amazing and even catered to my Wheat allergy! Complete peace of mind for what should have been a stressful day! If we had to gripe about one thing was that our guests didn't know about the french fry bar--the staff should have coordinated with the DJ since it was out by the bar after it had closed. But if that's our only complaint I'd say it was fabulous and went by too quick!
The MVGC coincidentally enough was as a recommendation from my Dad who heard amazing things about this wedding venue from a friend. I originally had little interest as I envisioned...
something a bit more unique than a golf club, but I have no regrets about my decision to get married on site and have our reception at the MVGC. The room where the reception is held is elegant and beautiful while allowing for so much flexibility in how you chose to decorate. Michelle, the coordinator, does such an incredible job making sure everything is taken care of, and makes sure you know it's your day and there's nothing to stress about. The planning process was far easier than I ever anticipated, thanks to Michelle. If you plan to be married on site (which I highly recommend, such a beautiful spot, especially in the fall!) obviously weather is a concern, but the contingency plans available inside (and the deck) are still great options and it helps alleviate the stress of a plan B if it rains. The food is absolutely delicious as well and guests are still complementing the dinner. Overall, my experience at the MVGC was wonderful and I would absolutely recommend it!

s after our event, we're still hearing from our guests about how amazing the food was, how beautiful the space was and how great the staff were. This kind of feedback is the ultimate compliment to a hard working bride. I give all the credit to Merrimack Valley Gold Club! They were accommodating, kind and gracious even through the unexpected. This group of wonderful people made 'My Day' exactly that. I didn't have to worry about anything. The vendors' needs were met, my families' needs were met, and I was treated like the princess I wanted to be on that day.
One story I keep hearing from my guests is one that, in the hustle of the day, I missed, but love to share it's magic. I heard that as we were all dancing and celebrating, the waitstaff were standing off to the side. They had on their professional black and white, they stood, stoically in a line prepared to step up to meet guests needs. A fun song began to play and the staff cautiously looked around then broke out into a celebratory dance. They then, quickly composed themselves and returned to their professional state. I love this story because these actions made my guests laugh and helped some of my stuffier guests loosen up!
My husband and I talked for hours during our wedding planning process, about the intentions we had for the wedding celebration. We always agreed that we wanted Joy, love and laughter. Thanks to everyone at Merrimack Valley Golf Club, our celebration was brimming with Joy, Love and Laughter!
I highly recommend this vendor for the bride and groom who want no drama and deserve to be treated with respect, kindness and compassion.
