Just stepping into this jeweler Janette made me so comfortable and gave me the best customer service. She asked for my budget, gave me options and NEVER pressured me. In fact she looked out for me and gave me honest feedback, I found the perfect custom ring for my girlfriend and she was able to get it done the same day for pick up. Nothing less than an amazing experience, the quality is unsurpassed their honesty and integrity is more than enough reason to use Mervis Diamond Importers as your one and only stop for all jewelry needs. Fazken had a variety of diamonds shipped in so I could pick the right one which ended up being perfect for the desired look. The turn around time was surprisingly quick as well! had been to a number of jewelry stores in search of an engagement ring. However, after being at Mervis Diamond Importers for just a few minutes, I knew this place was different. They had a wide variety of rings. The staff were extremely helpful & spent a lot of time walking me through different options. They never pressured me to buy anything. Great customer service! It’s sad to me how pleasantly surprising great service can be! Truly classy, they were never pushy or condescending, helpful & nice. I went with my fiance to look at engagement ring & we felt welcomed and were offered a drink as soon as we walked in. Dodi was very conscious of the different stages of ‘looking’ one can be in & was never pushy and never made me feel as though we were wasting her time. Great friendly staff. I bought an engagement ring with Mervis 26 years ago and I have never regretted it. Fazken at the Tysons Store was most helpful with an appraisal that I needed on a ring that was bought elsewhere. The Tysons Corner Store is very nice and that staff is most professional.

My diamond ring was from Mervis and it was a Tacori. It so happened that I got to know about their amazing collection through my sister. She has a halo Tacori ring with a round center -- which I liked, but I wanted something a bit different. (Our mom and all our family basically has rounds, which is ok, but not for me). I went with my then BF to try on cushion cut Tacori rings -- and lo and behond -- he brought one home for me just a few months later! Yay!! Makes me smile just thinking about it.

I wanted to get a ring for my now-fiance but was nervous about where to start. I asked around and multiple people mentioned that they shopped at Mervis and I should check it out. I’m glad I did. The staff was helpful & knowledgeable. I told them a little about what I knew I wanted and they brought out great options. In the last one year I've bought an Engagement ring and a Wedding band from Mervis. Safe to say that I've found a Jeweler for life. Special thanks to Lisa Binder who is an absolute life saver!!! My first experience with Mervis was in July 2007, when I turned to them for help after another jeweler failed to deliver what I needed. With two weeks to the proposal date I was left high and dry without a ring to propose with. Then came Lisa who first calmed me down and then started reaching out to the designers in NY. Within two weeks I got the ring I wanted, just in time for the big proposal. My second experience was only a few hours back. I was looking for a wedding band that matched the engagement ring. I reached out to trusty Lisa and explained her what I needed. The price of the wedding band from the same designer had recenlty gone up substantially. Knowing my budget, she went out of her way to work with the desingers to get the ring at the price before the hike. She could have easily sold the ring to me at the higher price and I would have bought it. But she did not. Her commitment to her clients speaks volumes about her and the service that Mervis provides to its clients. Buying diamonds and rings is a daunting task for any guy. We need someone to help us who we can trust. Mervis is the place to go and Lisa is the person to talk to.

After visiting other jewelers in the area and being unimpressed with the level of service, we recently went to Mervis looking for an engagement ring. We had a wonderful experience working with Mika Rocket! We never felt rushed or pressured during any of our visits with her. She was very kind, helpful and patient with us throughout the entire process. I recently got married and one of the things that helped make it special was Mervis Diamond and Emilie. I had a very large group of girls with me to help pick out the perfect engagement ring for my girlfriend. We set aside two weekends to check out a few places to browse(first weekend) and purchase(second weekend). After stopping in 3-4 other jewlery stores which had mostly off the shelf rings that didnt really look appealing to our group one person suggested we head across the street to the Mervis in Vienna. From the minute you enter the premises we were greeted by not one but four people offering to take our coats but also offered juice/tea/coffee. They inquired about what we were looking for and then escorted us to a glass enclosed room. From the minute we sat down we had a ton of information waiting for us to browse as they requested a diamond consultant to come help us. We only had waited about 5 minutes when Emilie came in and introduced herself to us and what she did at Mervis. She gave a detailed but brief background of her expertise and went to work helping us choose the perfect CUSTOM engagement ring. Emilie took most of her day to sit with us as we were at the location 3-4+ hrs. We went through which type of band and what style we wanted(the platinum looks FANTASTIC BTW) and then we started to craft which style of diamond we wanted as the center piece. We found the perfect diamond but i still felt it needed one on each side to compliment so she had the great idea to add in 2 stones to each side. She sketched out a nice little diagram of how each stone would look on the band i chose and i was 100% happy. We went from off the shelf to something that was 100% ours and one of a kind. Since the ring was 100% custom they gave me a figure of 4-6 weeks which i had no issues with as i wasnt planning of proposing till june. After 3 weeks i got a call from Emilie(not some machine) and she gave me the great news that it had come in and looked great. I took the short drive down to the Mervis store in Rockville with a friend of the soon to be fiance and both of us were blown away with how beautiful the ring was. It was exactly how i wanted. When we went to pay they asked my form of payment(paid in full at the time of receipt) and had no issue taking a debit card for the purchase and everything went smoothly with as large of a purchase as it was(gotta brag a bit). Proposed a month later and my now wife broke down in tears. She couldnt believe how gorgeous the ring was and how jealous most of her friends were. It really was the best experience a very nervous guy(Emilie probably knows me shaking) could have had. I was so happy with my first purchase with Mervis that my fiance and I went back to Mervis and specifically Emilie for our purchase of our wedding bands. And as before everything went smooth as butter. Blown away again by the service. Emilie - thank you for everything, you truly made our buying experience special.

My fiancé had an idea of the ring he wanted to give me when he proposed. Arnie at Mervis helped him bring his idea to life. After he popped the question, at Guinness in Ireland, he could not stop talking about his vision and how fantastic Arnie at Mervis is. He couldn't wait for me to meet him so I did the day after we got back to town. I was forewarned about the security at the doors but I can't help but agree the security made me feel more at ease. We went back to see Arnie for our wedding bands and it was so easy. They took the design for my engagement ring and created a beautiful wedding band for my fiancé. I can't wait til the rings come in. Dodi Giuliani is amazing!!!! She worked tirelessly to make my wife's engagement ring perfect. I wanted to increase the size of the cushion cut diamond, so the size of the halo had to be increased as well. To top it of, I needed the ring back by a specific date. Did Dodi deliver? Maria was my salesperson. She provided excellent background on each ring and explained how the different settings and bands would look on my fiance's finger. I would highly recommend both Mervis and Maria! She clearly knows her stuff and is very helpful. She also did not apply pressure and was transparent about everything. She even showed me the diamond I was purchasing up close under the microscope and explained what to look for.

It is impossible to live in the DMV without hearing about Mervis Diamond Importers. I must admit I was a wee bit leery at my first visit to their showroom in Tysons corner. My partner and I decided to visit after we attended a wedding expo in VA were we were treated a little like a curious oddity. So many vendors seemed excited to work with a gay couple. It all rang a bit hollow to me, so I think I was a little angsty when we approached the Mervis store with "1-800-her love" running through my head. My partner and I drew in a deep breath and waited to be buzzed into the showroom. We were greeted warmly by their receptionist and were were asked if we would like a refreshment. We told the receptionist that we were interested in speaking with someone about diamond wedding bands for men. She introduced us to Fazken Krikorian, who walked us to his office. He offered us a seat and began asking us questions. No pressure, no pushiness, just honest interest in hearing what we were thinking about. We showed him some photos and he gave us feedback on what he thought the pros and cons were of each ring. He encouraged us to think about two custom rings. He explained that from how he understood our interest and extrapolating from the photos, custom was the way to go. Fazken walked us through each stage of the design of the rings. He guided us with visual aids, specifically, he brought several bands along with more loose diamonds than I have ever seen in my life. He explained to us that as you select bigger diamonds the height of the ring must also grow. As we were both clear that we did not want one of those lollipop diamond rings on our finger or a big solitar, he began to sketch out a ring design that we both fell in love with. Now we just needed to find two identical diamonds, easy right? Not quite. Apparently, finding two stones of the same carat, cut, clarity and color is not easy. Fazken, though, was undaunted. It took a bit of time to locate the twin of the original diamond we selected but patience paid off. We even received several phone calls from Mr. Mervis letting us know how the search was proceeding. When the second diamond was located Fazken invited us into the showroom to check it out and compare it to our original diamond. With each stone we received GIA reports (which was so helpful in providing information that the naked eye could not see). Since we had already approved the CAD that Fazken generated for the ring, we were able to move immediately to manufacture of the ring. In less than two weeks we received a call from Fazken that our rings were ready. Our excitement was matched only by Fazken's and Mr. Mervis (who stopped in to say hi and ask how we liked the finished product). In sum, our experience was effortless. We wholeheartedly recommend Fazken Krikorian and Mervis Diamond to anyone interested in diamond jewelry.

My fiancée and I recently went to Mervis in Rockville to purchase wedding bands (given that I had previously had a great experience at their D.C. K Street location, where I bought my fiancée's engagement ring). We were helped by Maria Kamali, who was a wonderful guide in finding the bands that matched our personal tastes and fit within our budget. She was extremely helpful in explaining all the different options open to us, including engraving and how pricing differed depending on size and whether my fiancée's band was braided all the way around or only halfway. We appreciated how the process never felt rushed (we were there for over an hour) and how Maria and the other staff made an effort to make us comfortable (they brewed some green tea for us). We also appreciated how there was no pressure to buy right there and then, despite our being sure that we would eventually make a purchase. Because we had some questions about engraving and pricing, Maria told us she would call us in a couple of days with answers on both and then we could make our decision. She followed through as promised and we ordered. Given the stellar quality of the engagement ring, we're sure the final products will be great when they're ready to be picked up. Thanks, Maria! I went to Mervis with a girlfriend of mine to get some ideas for her engagement ring! Her guy gave us the OK to pick out some styles she liked and then he would go in afterwards and pick from amongst those. And they decided he would pick out the center stone on his own too. She got to choose the shape, but not the size or clarity. Anyway we went into their store one Saturday afternoon and I have to say we were treated very well. (This was after we were basically ignored at a few other stores for being 2 girls shopping without a guy). We looked a whole range of different styes but really liked the micro pave halo rings the most. We wrote down a few different style numbers for her man and then left. It was a great experience. I found the sales associate very nice and informative. I am not sure why others had bad experiences. Maybe some of their sales people are better than others. We worked with Emily and I can recommend her. I don't know her hours but she was there on Saturday. I am not sure where the boyfriend will ultimately buy the ring. We ended up giving him a long list of options from three different places. But of them all, I have to say we got the best service at Mervis. Hey that rhymes.

My husband (finace then) initially (and later I) worked closely with Rahul Vohra of Mervis Diamond Importers of Tysons/Vienna -- best decision ever! Rahul is a Senior Diamond Consultant, and very well educated in the business. He was extremely professional and really worked with us to get us exactly what we (ME) wanted! We started from scratch -- I got to pick the size and the 4Cs with the help of Rahul of course. We were deciding between the two: Tacori or Verragio. For me, I liked the very detailed and intricate designs that Verragio had, so we went with them. Rahul worked with Verragio to get us EXACTLY what we wanted, custom designed to the T. Our design was so custom, that Barry Verragio himself had to get involved and over-see the process of the ring! The final piece was just unbelievably gorgeous. And we selected a beautiful Verragio band to go along with it. I would recommend Mervis to all and furthermore, recommend you work with Rahul Vohra -- no pushy sales, finds you exactly what you are looking for, bends over backwards to help you get what you want, and makes you a life long customer! My husband bought my original diamond from Mervis and it is beautiful, we are now shopping at Mervis again for the 10 yr upgrade and we have had amazing customer service with Diane. Mervis has a great 'family' feel and beautiful inventory...you can trust the staff and they always make time to answer all of your questions as well as providing wonderful feedback. My finance and I stopped by the store recently and had a wonderful experience with Jeanne. We had been ring shopping at some other stores but didn't get the quality of service we were hoping for...but once we met Jeanne, we felt like we were talking to a friend and we trusted her judgement and direction with getting a proper stone for our budget. We started looking at engagement rings prospectively about a year ago at a variety of stores. And while many stores did not take us seriously, Nina at Mervis did. She gave us a broad overview of our choices, and was easy and pleasant to deal with. At no point did we feel pressured to make a decision before we were ready. So when it came time to actually purchase the ring, it was an easy choice to go back to Mervis. Again Nina was wonderful and helped me select a great diamond and setting within a price range I was comfortable with. My fiancee loves it! Everything about the transaction with Mervis was outstanding, and I highly recommend Nina.

I had an extremely tight budget and was headed for the local mall to find a ring. Luckily my recently engaged friend called up his new buddy, Evan Mervis, at the Rockville Mervis Diamond, and found that he could clear some time for us. Not only was Evan able to find an option twice as good as I'd expected for my price limit, he was able to deeply educate us on diamond evaluation and share advice on proposal techniques. Later, we went to the mall to check out the large chain stores and smaller ones, as well. Some of the price ranges were close, but since Evan had taken the time to teach us how to find inclusions and compare other facets, we came away largely disappointed from the selections available at the mall. Evan treats each customer as a friend, and establishes a sense of trust by giving honest and direct answers. If he can't manage something, he doesn't BS about it. He uses his experience combined with your details to find a solution that meets or exceeds people's needs. He made my friend happy, and he made me happy, but that is not as important as Evan's ultimate goal: how happy he made our fiances. I'll definitely be returning for the wedding bands.

We recently purchased a Tacori engagement ring from Mervis. After shopping for the better part of two years, my (now) fiancee and I had a very good sense of what we wanted. The other jewelers we had worked with at other stores (from NY to DC) had a frustrating way of dancing around a lot of our direct questions (GIA vs. EGL, pricing structures, marketing strategies, etc). Jordan at Mervis was very blunt, very knowledgeable, and ultimately, his honest non-"salesy" approach to working with us is what won our business. Their prices were very fair (and we did a LOT of homework for comparison), but their quality of service and approach to the process was second to none. Highly recommend Mervis (and Jordan, if you can ask for him). He's honest, no pressure, and is extremely knowledgeable. We'll be back for sure.

When I began searching for the perfect engagement ring, it was a very anxious time. It was a very big deal to me and a once in a lifetime experience that I wanted to get right. In the beginning, I was clueless about the process but after finding Mervis Diamonds in Rockville and meeting Jill Alexander, I immediately felt better. She was very patient with me and took the time to first educate me on the 4 C's and the background of Mervis and then took the time to understand my needs before we even looked at any rings. After my first visit to Mervis, I knew there was no need to visit any other jewelers and I could find what I was looking for there. I started my engagement ring search about 4 months ago knowing absolutely nothing about diamonds, platinum, jewelry, or anything of the sort. I first walked into Mervis because they were convenient on my walk from my office to Farragut West metro. I didn't have an appointment but thought I'd just start looking and see what happens. After I got through their double doors, Jordan greeted me and was remarkably casual about the whole thing. I had expected a diamond store to be more uptight but he was about my age and had a sense of humor which made me feel comfortable. All I knew to start was that she liked the cushion shape (Her sister told me that, but what on earth is a cushion pillow diamond?!!). Jordan was super helpful and patient with me. He showed me what cushion shaped diamonds look like -- very interesting actually -- but also showed me some other shapes like rounds and princesses just so I felt more comfortable with the whole scene and knew what cushions were in the context of all other options. After never seeing loose diamonds before in my life, I was sort of amazed when I saw how tiny differences in color and sparkle make a HUGE difference to the price and overall beauty. I seriously must have looked at every diamond they had and figured out with Jordan's help where I wanted to be on the scale of color/clarity/cut/etc. I felt really good after that first visit, but I wanted to do some homework. So I went to a few other stores to see what they had to offer, and to be honest, nobody treated me with the same respect and attention to detail like Jordan. He was just really impressive in how much he knew about diamonds and he was happy to explain to me which elements of the diamond are important and make it like a ball of fire and sparkle, and which elements are less important and you can't see without a microscope. He helped me find the perfect combo, saving me money where we could but not skimping out where it's important. Damn I can't believe I just wrote so much here and I hope my fiance doesn't think I have a man-crush on Jordan now. I don't swing that way but seriously, I don't think I could have ever figured out buying an awesome diamond without his help.

I had a great experience with the Rockville Mervis Diamonds when buying an engagement ring for my gf/now fiance. I set up an initial appointment just to better help me understand what I was getting into (I had no idea about diamonds/rings). I let them know up front that I probably wasn't going to be buying the ring for another 3-5 months and they were completely understanding. They help me understand what was worth spending on and what wasn't, explained the different styles, the process, etc. Pretty much every question I had leading up to the purchase. They also were very cognizant to work within the budget I laid out. They brought out stones and rings on both the low end and the high end, and not pressuring me in either direction. I went back to Mervis about 4 months later to actually make the purchase. The staff was just friendly as they were the first time, walking me through all my choices again to make sure I was comfortable with what I was buying - and in the end I was. (I did a lot of homework on blue nile to know exactly what prices I should be expecting for what I wanted, and Mervis was right in line). You're going to have pay for getting a quality ring, so be prepared. I would HIGHLY recommend Mervis when purchasing for engagement rings. I am an avid online shopper and deal seeker, but cutting corners on the engagement ring just didn't feel right.

I was thoroughly satisfied with my experience with Mervis. In particular, Emilie Brebeck was a joy to work with. After identifying a price range and type (princess cut), she brought out a broad variety of diamonds for me to choose from. She was incredibly patient and it was clear that she valued customer service. After three different visits, I was confident that I had found the perfect engagement ring and wedding band. Since I purchased both, she worked with the owner to negotiate a significant discount. I had looked around at other chain stores and was appalled at the price differential, value and price difference between the two. Furthermore, Emilie has continued to be helpful after the purchase. I am such a fan of Emilie that I created an account just to post a positive review for Mervis.

This is the first time I've written a review. I wanted to share a wonderful experience I recently had at Mervis Diamond Importers in Vienna - specifically wanted to highlight Fazken Krikorian. After 13 years of marriage my husband and I decided to upgrade my wedding set. We had purchased my first wedding set at Mervis and had such a great experience then that we decided to go back. From the moment we entered the building until the final delivery of the rings I couldn't have been happier. Fazken patiently worked with us - showing us numerous settings, diamonds and providing expert guidance. He thoroughly impressed us with his expertise and ability to understand exactly what we were looking for. In the end, the rings are absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't have been more impressed with the time Fazken dedicated to us. Truly a professional who enjoys his job and Mervis is a wonderful business to work with. I look forward to making future purchase there.

This was our first time at Mervis. I must say it was a very pleasant experience. Deva Helmand assisted us and her recommendations were "on spot." She listened to our desires and provided advice. She also provided information on the artisans/designers of the various diamonds; she stayed with us the entire visit never once having to take another call or make her excuses to assist others. And the reason I'm stressing this point is because I can imagine compared to other customers Mervis is used to dealing with; our purchases were no more than %11K. They treat all customers the same no matter the perceived social strata. It felt like Deva was a close friend from the time we first met until the deal was done. Her expertise, her professionalism, her kindness, her sincerity---her entire demeanor was no less than stellar and the epitome of customer service! I will definitely recommend Mervis and Deva and I would go back in heartbeat! Look for Deva to become one of the corporate leaders in the future.

This is the place to go, without doubt they are First Class and I was blown away by how good they are, most important they made my girl feel like she was a true princess and the most important girl on earth, I returned and got her engagement ring from them. You will leave that store feeling happy, confident and at ease. I wont go anywhere else but Mervis in the future.

I just got back from Mervis after having my rings cleaned (for free) and I just felt I had to write something. I walked in without an appointment on a Monday afternoon and the girl who greeted me at the desk was super friendly. I told her I'd worked with Jon Mervis before and she went and found him. Jon immediately dropped what he was doing in his office and said it was no problem to clean my rings. He offered me some water and said I should just wait on the couch for a few minutes. Let me tell you -- It was like a transcendental experience being on that couch! All I could see were images of other beautiful rings on their big screen TV mounted on the wall. So many sparkly rings out there, I don't know how anyone could choose. Lucky for me, the husband most of the choosing when it came to our engagement ring. For the wedding rings, we did that together. Anyway, as I was saying, I was in a daze sitting on that couch for the few minutes until my rings were ready and SUPER CLEAN. (They sparkle so much more after you clean them. It's hard to explain but just do it!!) I've always had a good experience with Mervis so I'm not sure what these other reviewers are talking about. Maybe it depends on who you're working with. I've been helped by Jon Mervis and everything has been perfect. When you call for an appointment, just ask for him I guess. He's obviously part of the family so maybe he just cares a bit more to take care of the customer.

After visiting other jewelers in the area and being unimpressed with the level of service, we recently went to Mervis looking for an engagement ring. We had a wonderful experience working with Mika Rocket! We never felt rushed or pressured during any of our visits with her. She was very kind, helpful and patient with us throughout the entire process. She took the time to understand what we were looking for and worked with the designer to create the PERFECT ring that fit within our budget. It's exactly what we wanted! We highly recommend going to Mervis and working with Mika!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the customer service and quality of diamonds Mervis offered. There was a large selection of stones and settings and very friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to assist me. The prices were fair given the diamonds I was viewing for purchase were all GIA rated and came complete with certificates. When i received the insurance paperwork for the purchase I made I found I paid around 3K less than what the ring was valued. In summary great customer service, great quality, and good prices. MUCH MUCH better than Princess Jewelers in all three categories.

I travel a lot for work and I've checked out rings at many stores across the country. I have to say that nobody was as professional and impressive as the team at Mervis. From the minute I walked in, I was treated like a professional, and dare I say, like a sophisticated buyer. They asked me about myself and about my girlfriend -- what she was like and what would really make her thrilled. They really seemed sincere in wanting to get to know us, and wanting to find something really special that would be more than we imagined, but exactly the style we love! It was a totally different experience to some of the other stores I went into -- where it seemed like a routine drab question, "what do you want and are you sure you don't want to buy it today and get some gimmicky deal?!" Mervis definitely isn't your typical jewelry store and actually it's really not like a typical store of any kind. Their diamond consultants -- I worked with a great woman named Dodi -- are trained by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and really know their stuff! She worked with me almost like a personal trainer to help figure out what we could achieve with my budget. I felt like she was on my side and I truly appreciated that. I've since referred a bunch of my friends to her specifically because she's just awesome and did such a great job for me!

When it comes to professionalism, Mervis Diamond is at the top of the class. Their Tysons Corner location is elegant and inspiring. Buying an engagement ring for my fiance was such an enjoyable and special occasion for me, due to the helpful and knowledgeable staff at Mervis. I had no need to go to another diamond store. I just felt comfortable with my purchase and knew what I was buying would make a statement. This is the place you go to, if you want quality and a unique diamond buying experience. Do not be fooled by the saturated market of generic diamond stores, and check out Mervis first. You will not regret it.

I have been looking for an engagement ring for the last few weeks. I went to a handful of different jewelers in the area but none of them compared to the professional and customer centered focus I received at Mervis Tysons Corner. I would like to make special mention of the representative that helped me, Jonathan Ochs. Jonathan was patient, accommodating, and was incredible with helping me find the exact design I was looking for (the bonus was that I never felt uncomfortable or pressured). Bottom line, I would highly recommend going to Mervis for engagement rings and tell you to ask for Jonathan.
