We chose Messina Hof because it is an all inclusive venue. It provided a beautiful backdrop for our wedding, while making the planning process easy and minimizing the stress. Kylah Howard, our on site coordinator, was with us every step of the way guiding us through every decision in the process. She made sure all our needs were met, and that our day was amazing. She and the entire staff were wonderful to work with, and the food wine and Villa were all great. Thank you Kylah and Messina Hof.
We had our wedding in the middle of a pandemic. We kept our size very small (max 8 people). The staff all wore masks for thir and our protection, which really showed they took safety seriously.
The space is beautiful. The vineyards provide a beautiful backdrop for our quaint. The gazebo was super cute for a ceremony and nice pictures throughout and after the ceremony.
Kylah was such a sweetheart. She helped us with everything even though much of our wedding was planned last minute, only about 2 months in advance. Kylah made everything go smoothly from beginning to end. She was there during the planning with lots of emails and phone calls, as well as the execution on the day of which we really appreciated.
Plus they offered a custom label on their wine bottle just for our wedding, which is a super sweet gesture and only made us want to buy more wine!
Also, the food was AMAZING! Our entire family loved every bite. The steak and pork chop options with vegetables were so memorable that we will certainly order them again when we visit for our anniversaries in the future.
The inn is just the right size for our honeymoon suite, and it has this old-timey feeling to it, that small towns might have in Europe. If that makes sense?
All in all, we enjoyed our elopement package, the pricing, the food, the venue, the wine, the planning, the execution. We loved our wedding.
RECOMMEND!
Kylah at Messina Hof was so great to work with! I had already rescheduled and replanned our wedding twice due to COVID, so Messina Hof was our last resort. Kylah and Messina Hof made it a breeze to replan our wedding in only two months, and it was beyond perfect and gorgeous. They took care of everything and made a very stressful process so streamlined and nearly stress free! So grateful for them!
I feel like Messina Hof might be a hidden gem of wedding venues. Their pricing was extremely reasonable considering the quality of everything and the fact that it was a package deal (meaning so much to not have to worry about). Sarah, our event coordinator, is the sweetest and most helpful person ever. She handled all the details from contacting vendors to making the chalkboard signs. She offered to help wherever she could and made the whole planning process so easy. The property is gorgeous and the vendors they work with (DJ, floral) were awesome. And the best thing about it is that it's not just a wedding venue--it's a winery, restaurant, and B&B, so we can continue to visit and relive the best day of our lives for years to come! 100% recommend Messina Hof!
The value for the cost having our wedding and reception was exactly everything that my husband and I were looking for. I worked with Sarah, part of the events coordination team and she was a dream. She made it so easy to work with and Messina coordinated the cake, floral, DJ, food, wine, linens and violinist through the venue so it saved me a ton of time and stress having to coordinate with a variety of vendors. I was able to provide Sarah exactly what I had envisioned and it turned out beautifully. We wouldn’t have changed one single thing about our big day and Sarah was truly a life saver.
Messina Hof was fantastic in every single way imaginable!! Our coordinator was Sarah and she truly made dreams come true! I can be a bit of a control freak, but after one meeting with her, we trusted her completely to take care of everything. She coordinated all aspects of the wedding other than the photographer. Ehich is a pretty personal choice. We would send her images of what we wanted and she made it all come true! The day of I was able to sit back and enjoy getting ready at the Bed and Breakfast! Unfortunately it ended up raining the day of our wedding, but they had a contingency plan all ready to go the day before and made the Cellar even more beautiful than we had imagined. We were lucky enough to have the entire bed and breakfast, which made seeing family and friends so much more convenient. The entire staff at the B&B was welcoming, kind, and helpful in all aspects of our stay. I could go on and on about how fantastic Messina Hof is, but it's one that you need to experience it for yourself! Thank you so much Messina Hog for everything!!
Messina Hof was absolutely amazing. My guests were so pleased with the food, service, and room. The views were gorgeous. The staff did everything I asked and made the day run as smooth as possible. I absolutely recommend this venue. It was a day I will never forget.
Bridesmaid at a wedding at this venue. I️ was partially involved with the planning of the wedding. Was included in a few emails and texts to and from the wedding planner. I️ know the parents of the bride bought the highest tiered package and what was ordered vs. what was received was a sad mess. The wedding planner was missing the entire day. The venue was double booked. No one knew what to do or where to go. The ceremony was a big muddy mess. She was caught making flowers on her own by the father of the bride she forgot to order the flowers and wedding cake. When approached about it by the mother of the bride she lied and said they changed their budget the night before the wedding so she had to make cuts. Flowers and a cake are ordered WAY before the rehearsal, and the final payment was due in full the night of the rehearsal. I was there for the cake and flower ordering, the father of the bride paid for it that day. So making cuts was her excuse for her forgetting to order 2 of the most important decor of a wedding.
There is so much that went wrong at this wedding due to the lack of respect the wedding planner, Holly, had for her job and clients. As you can see by the cost of their packages, a lot of money went into this wedding and no one can really figure out where it all went.
Do not waste your time with this place. They do NOT make your day stress free or fun.
As a bridesmaid of a wedding that was booked at this venue, please DO NOT waste your time on listening to their presentations on being a fantastic/sought out wedding venue. I was with the bride at every meeting and copied on every email with the wedding planner/manager Holly. She promised seclusion with peace and quiet for the day of the wedding. She also promised the mother of the bride to not worry about small details because she had it all handled. The brides parents purchased the highest tiered package they offered and there were several dozen in person meetings as well as phone calls and emails with detailed images of what was wanted. 3 months before the wedding there was a cake tasting as well as a final run through of flowers and decor. the mother of the bride as well as the bride were shown who the flowers would be purchased from, who the cake would be purchased from, and who the dj would be along with the cost breakdown. Fast forward to the day of the wedding. the ceremony was to be set up outside by the vineyard, it was muddy and swampy. Not to mention Holly had double booked that day so where the reception was supposed to be she was hosting a party that had the room till 4pm (the reception was at 4:30). She could not be reached for the entire morning. the brides mother could not enjoy being with the bride because she was running around (the wedding planners job by the way) trying to make sure things were where they needed to be. the ceremony started 45 min late because they set it up in a wet swamp and had to figure out how to get the bride and bridesmaids in (which they used a four wheeler). The flowers were made that day by Holly, the father of the bride caught her in her office (she bought them at SAMs) she forgot to place the floral arrangement order so she took it upon herself to buy pink carnations that were half dead. she also forgot to place the wedding cake order so the cakes were boxed cake from another bakery. they were dry and the designs were nothing what the bride ordered. fast forward to the reception, the DJ was unprofessional and rude. he was given a playlist and ended up playing songs off of his ipod. he did not announce the newly married couple with the right name and when it was time watch them leave he turned off the music and told everyone to get out. the menu was sampled at the tasting, and what was catered at the wedding was not what was order 3 months prior. the food was cold and had zero flavor. Please DO NOT have your wedding at this venue. You will end up with a nightmare along, wasted money, and a lot of tears. Not to mention Holly will call you a liar after the fact just so she can make herself look good.
Fantastic! Beautiful setting! Its probably the closest thing to an old-world winery you can get in Texas. Merrill and Paul completely spoiled me and my guests. They made sure every detail was perfect and enclosed us into the Messina Hof family. Michael couldn't have made my bridesmaids feel more at home. And Michael did a fantastic job on our flowers! Klaus and his team handled the reception beautifully. And Jean is fantastic in every way. She made our stay personal and memorable. And I would like to say that I appreciate ALL the hard work that Merrill put into our wedding in the last few weeks. She made sure everything went off without a hitch.
The venue itself has it all. Beautiful setting. We got soooo lucky that the weather cooperated for the ceremony. Our ceremony site was outside next to the vineyards. Its out enough to be private, but close enough to the main buildings for easy access. All the decorations come from Merrill and Paul's antiquing travels throughout the world. Alot of local Texas art is displayed in all of the buildings.
This is an all inclusive venue. It made things so easy. They handle all of the moving parts. We decided to handle most of the decorations ourselves, but they are set up to handle that. They worked with my change of plans: no cake...pie instead. And even allowed my dog to be in the wedding.
I cannot say enough good things about Messina Hof. Good wine, good food, beautiful location. Its worth the price tag!
Messina Hof's Wedding packages make it simple to plan a luxury wedding. The wedding planner, Tamara Lumsden, was amazing to work with. She went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. We had to move our outdoor wedding indoors due to the weather and she pulled it off without a single snag. Everything went smoothly and we were able to focus on the overwhelming emotion of our wedding day.
If you are looking for a beautiful place to get married, have your rehearsal dinner, bridal shower or any other event you can think of, Messina Hof is the place to go! The Designer Event staff goes above and beyond to help make your wedding the day of your dreams and they are so great to work with! The food is delicious, the service is great and the venue is everything you could ever want! I highly recommend choosing Messina Hof as your venue!!
My wedding was at Messina Hof Winery on April 30, 2016. When we first booked the venue the "wedding planner" made all kinds of promises, would be very consistent with replying back to emails and texts, pretty much a brides dream thinking they would not have to stress about a day they have dreamed about their entire life. About 3 months away from the wedding we started having trouble getting the wedding planner to respond to phone calls, text messages and emails. On the day of the wedding the venue was completely overbooked, and this is after countless times of being told we would have the venue to ourselves the day of the wedding. There was an event scheduled in the same room as the reception at 1:00 pm and would last until 4:00 pm and the wedding reception was at 4:30. The decorations looked thrown together because they were. We brought several of our own decorations to add to the reception and they were not set out. We worked hard on putting a portfolio together for the wedding planner. And there was not one single decoration that looked like the pictures in the portfolio. The bouquets were suppose to be large with red and white roses and lots of greenery and ordered from a highly sought out florist in the Bryan/College Station area. They bouquets we got were made with pink carnations and they were tiny, which were also put together the day of the wedding by the "wedding planner" herself. We walked down a swampy isle that was promised to be draped with a tarp. I was promised the isle would be lined with thousands of rose petals it was not. The reception room smelled like sewer and the smell just got worse throughout the night. The food was disgusting! we were told it was because they had just added a new chef and it was pretty much his fault. My mother had set up a bridals luncheon at noon the day of the wedding, 1 month before the day of the wedding. We had the small barrel room reserved for us with a table decorated and signs posted. 30 min before we were to begin lunch, my maid of honor went in to the room to make sure all was well and they had seated a wine tasting party at our table. She was told to please leave that it was a private party. All of our signs were taken down and the decor was gone. We had to have our bridal luncheon in the restaurant and we had to wait almost an hour for our food because it had not even been prepared. The bathrooms had not been cleaned for a while, trash everywhere. The DJ was a joke. When it came time to announce us to walk into the reception we stood in the doorway for 10 min before he could find out wedding song and when he did announce us he said our last name wrong. For the father/bride dance he pulled a hard rock song and started playing it, then was confused when i told him that was not the song. The worst part of the DJ was at the end of the night when guests were going downstairs to do the send off, my husband and I were still in the reception area speaking to a handful of people and he stopped the music, got on his microphone and said "the party is over, yall need to leave now" We had a cake tasting two months before the wedding and the small cakes for the tasting were amazing. The cakes were made from box cake mix on the day of the wedding, they were dry and nothing like what was requested!! This is a day I have dreamed about my entire life and it was taken away from me by this venue as well as their so called wedding planner. DO NOT book this venue based on false promises.
