We got married in the Manor House Gardens and it was such a beautiful place for our ceremony. If you are planning a wedding on a tight budget and need an outdoor space, this is a great option. The grass was soggy from rain the night before but Natalie, the event coordinator, was able to help us with a backup plan that actually worked out better than the original one. Parking is a little confusing because of the set up of the park, but other than that, everything was perfect!
We knew we wanted to have an outdoor ceremony at one of Toledo's metroparks so that we could share one of the area's gems with our friends and family! We decided on the "Small Park with Arches" at Toledo Botanical Gardens and were absolutely delighted with our decision. The park makes for such a lovely setting where you are fully surrounded by nature, and is also a blank canvas that you can get creative with. We loved the beautiful modern sculpture as a backdrop and how it provided a cozy, intimate corner of the park to exchange vows in front of and arrange chairs towards. Although our wedding ended up being much smaller than anticipated, this space is quite impressive and can accommodate up to 200 guests.
In terms of the guest experience, there are ample parking options and well-appointed restrooms nearby (which my last-minute bride jitters really appreciated!) so logistics were easy. Additionally, our guests thoroughly enjoyed strolling the grounds and admiring all of the beautiful gardens, as did the wedding party and our photographer when it was time for pictures!
The TBG/Metroparks staff was very helpful and made the planning process easy-- a huge thanks to Corrine for her professionalism, kindness and knowledge, answering my many questions to ensure that we abiding by the park's important event guidelines.
Overall, we couldn't be happier with how our ceremony turned out, and cannot recommend TBG and it's "small park with arches" highly enough to anybody looking for a unique, beautiful and memorable outdoor venue!
Brookwood was a perfect space for our small COVID wedding! We were able to keep everybody spaced out and comfortable. The deck out back was perfect for our ceremony and dancing! It was a gorgeous backdrop for our pictures as well!
Due to Covid we had 50 people. It was a great price and they kept us informed for everything. It was a very nice and clean. The only negative was we couldn't set up the day before of have a rehearsal inside with out an extra of $500 just for a few hours.
It was so easy having our wedding ceremony at the Toledo Botanical Gardens. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the location was and the price was extremely reasonable. The best part was, we were already at a beautiful location for family and bridal party pictures!
The pandemic altered all my daughter’s plans, as happened to many others. Although we have put off the reception till later, the couple wanted to go ahead with the wedding. We were able to book the gazebo in Swan Creek Metropark easily online for a very reasonable price. The setting was lovely, access for the grandparents in wheelchairs was easy, and afterwards we had a picnic in the park. It was not the day she planned, but it was absolutely a day to remember with love.
Friendly service, beautiful home and grounds, very elegant yet comfortable and easy!!
I had my ceremony and reception at the Manor House and it was absolutely beautiful. The day was everything I imagined it to be. You don't need to do much to make it look stunning. I thought I'd have an issue with the guest list being kept to 80 but it ended up being fine. The only drawback was not being able to take alcohol outside and we had the DJ set up on the patio for dancing under the stars.
The Wildwood Manor House was the perfect venue for both my wedding ceremony and reception! From the beginning, Jennifer with Wildwood Metroparks was incredibly organized and helpful when it came to answering any questions I had. When renting the venue, you get the house for the whole weekend starting at 6PM on Friday until 11AM on Sunday. This enabled us to have the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at the venue on Friday, get ready at the venue on Saturday, and do some take down on Sunday morning. The bridesmaids were able to get ready upstairs, while the groomsmen got ready in the basement.
My biggest concern was the spacial constraints of the mansion. With 100 guests we had to seat people in the different rooms; the formal living room, the solarium, and the library. Since guests were in three separate rooms we ended up deciding to do the toasts on the back patio at the end of cocktail hour and before dinner, which worked out perfectly!
After dinner we had dancing on the back patio. Guests who didn't want to dance had plenty of room to mingle in the foyer and chat in the library where we set up a coffee and tea table. The gardens adjacent to the house were also a beautiful place to take a stroll.
I could not have been more pleased with the Wildwood Manor House as the venue for my wedding. If you're looking for an attentive staff and a beautiful space, the Wildwood Manor House is a great choice!
We rented the gazebo for our wedding. The park set the chairs up and tore them back down. They were very flexible and the price is more than worth what you get.
Our first date, where I proposed, and we had our photos. Just a gorgeous place
Easy & beautiful. They confirmed my requests a few weeks before, and reiterated the emergency contact numbers.
A caveat: You can't stick anything into the ground, and they will charge you if there's anything strewn on ground (flower petals, glitter, bird seed, etc.) that isn't removed afterward.
The park is absolutely beautiful! We had our ceremony on the Peninsula at side cut. The two willow trees were absolutely beautiful and added that much more personality to our ceremony. We received so many compliments on our setting. Highly Recommend!!
We went to Wildwood park to take the pictures in between the ceremony and the reception. Our theme was fall so we were hoping to get some pictures with the changing leave colors. We made it all the way out to the gazebo and it started to ran. One of the staff members from the Manor House came out with 6 umbrellas in hopes of keeping us dry. We even did a picture with my husband holding the umbrella as we walked back. It turned out great!
Gorgeous site, plenty of room, and great photography options. Before booking though make sure you go to the site to check for handicap accessibility and areas to get ready prior to the ceremony. Also, keep in mind that you will need to bring in everything such as chairs, sound system, etc.
We reserved the pavilion for 2 days so that we could set up for the reception the day before. Unfortunately the air conditioning was out on an 85 degree day! The park was in the pavilion all day fixing it for us (knowing we were just setting up and not doing and actual reception). With all of the doors open the hall was actually quite cool. By the next day, for the reception, they had a portable a/c unit in the hall for us that pumped through the air ducts and cooled the hall perfectly, even with it being 85 outside. The rangers are super nice and are always just a phone call away if you need anything. Heck our ranger even helped us figure out how to get out wedding cake to fit into the refrigerator! The hall is beautiful all in gorgeous wood which fit perfectly with our outdoor/rustic theme. Oh, and they have a HUGE ice chest full of bags of ice that we could use whatever we wanted out of. There must have been 50 bags of ice in there! There is a playground 50 feet away so the little ones spent a lot of time over there instead of the "boring" wedding! My DJ liked the venue saying they had great hookups for his equipment. My caterer loved the venue because there is a great kitchen. Tables and chairs are included and they are nicer chairs to, not folding chairs which I half expected. It worked beautifully for everyone.
I would suggest this venue to anyone. I had so many compliments, and it was just a wonderful park setting.
This was the most beautiful place to have a wedding. The garden was blooming, there was so much beauty and so many great photo opportunities. Easy to work with the staff at Wildwood. Highly recommended!!
We chose the Silver lake overlook at sidecut for our ceremony, an absolutely gorgeous setting for a small wedding.
The venue was beautiful but we were only allowed to rent it until 11pm. It is nice to be able to bring in your own catering..but worrying about beverages, cups, etc. was a pain. Also, the ranger made us stop the music at 10pm to start cleaning up which was a surprise to us since we thought we had it until 11pm but they wanted us out by that time. Overall it was nice but had a few negatives.
I loved having my wedding here. Elizabeth and the rest of her staff was amazing to work with and willing to make the day perfect.
After having my wedding reception at the Manor House this past weekend, I would probably realistically rate it a 3.5 (but that wasn't available).
The pros:
It is very very pretty. The formal living room (?) where we set up the tables for our reception is beautiful and can be dressed up so nicely. The solarium, which connected to this room is also very pretty and gives a beautiful view of the gardens which are in full bloom this time of the year.
The cons:
If your event is very large, I would not reccommend the space. We had 50 and we fit perfectly. But otherwise it sounds like you would be split up into different areas of the house. Also, upon arrival, we were met by a very helpful employee named Joe (?) but the woman we had been dealing with the entire time did not arrive until the very end of us setting up. It would have been helpful to have her direction considering...there are ALOT of rules. Understandably, because it is a very old house, but it makes it difficult to set up without staff helping you along. For eample: No candles, certain rooms cannot be used for certain things, kitchen appliances cannot be used by catering company, etc.
Seemed like there was alot of things you could't do, but there was not alot of help letting you know what you could do.
I could not have asked for better people to work with when planning my wedding ceremony. Everyone who I was in contact with at the Metroparks was absolutely amazing. Elizabeth Guthrie was the event coordinator at the time of my wedding and she made sure that everything was perfect. I could not have asked for more!
Working with Elizabeth and the other members of the staff at the Manor House made me very relaxed about my ceremony. I did not have to worry about anything.
The rooms we were given to use gave us ample space to get ready (even with 8 bridesmaids!). The ceremony space is small, but that is exactly what I wanted. It is a very special place for out of town guests to see and it reminds your in town guests of all of the times they have visited there in the past.
I have nothing but good things to say about my Manor House wedding experience. It was wonderful!
The park staff was so accommodating and friendly. Whatever we needed they were able to provide for us. Beautiful site for the ceremony, we had ours in the living room. We didn't need to travel to get our pictures done because the park itself has many opportunities for picture taking. Didn't hurt that the weather was beautiful that day and the trees were so full of color. Amazing!
Amazing location. Just make sure you have enough assistance to set everything up yourself.
this venue was amazingly beautiful. no need to decorate anything because it is already decorated. the layout of the mansion allowed us to mingle within the different rooms, giving a different feel with each room, so it didn't seem like one big reception hall box. the coordinator erin moss was the kindest most helpful person. she made my wedding day her top priority. we also were able to spend the whole day there, with a room to get dressed in. with the wedding outside in the garden, the dinner in the lower level and the dancing on the main level in the beautiful glass walled solarium, this place had it all!! no traveling from church to reception hall. and they allowed us to use whatever vendors we wanted!! i am 100% satisfied and happy that i chose this site!
It has an indoor area and outdoor area so you can have a backup plan if it rains which it did on the day of our reception. We moved everything indoors and we still got so many compliments on how lovely everything was.;If you are using the indoor facilities limit your guest to under 75. We had just over 90 and it was way too packed! And there is no air conditioning in the house.
