We have a complete mobile commercial kitchen on wheels to serve the freshest foods. It gives us the ability to cater off-site plated service weddings, and offer food truck services!

Owner
Michael Brown, the dedicated owner and head chef of Michael’s Event Catering, was born in southern New Jersey and has been cooking since 2001. Michael received an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University before working for various esteemed catering and banquet companies. After studying and traveling extensively, Michael decided to open his own business committed to taking care of the one thing that all of the other companies forget about: the customer.

I cannot express how impressed we were with Michael's Event Catering. They were professional, responsive, flexible and the food was incredible! Our guests are still raving! We had the cater a breakfast after our wedding ceremony and our Cocktail Reception.

We hand picked Michael's for all of our catering needs at our wedding because of the wide range of food selection that he has. We worked with Lauren and Michael up to the day of the wedding and they were nothing short of amazing to work with. They are extremely flexible and accommodating with our needs and special requests. Michael worked closely with our wedding planner and owner of the venue to figure out logistics since his large truck cannot fit the turn up to the venue. Michael was so great to work with and I've heard only the best compliments from our wedding planner and vendor team! The food was amazing, everything they served was so well made, fresh, and DELICIOUS. We had to have sushi at our wedding and they were just flying off of their trays. The specially requested lavender lemonade was just the perfect refreshment. The main course with filet mignon, grilled lamb chops, and salmon were all so so good that our guests kept going back for more! The staff were so attentive to our needs and prepared sample platters for us to enjoy from cocktail hour and reception so we did not have to go up and get our own food. They continued to check up on us throughout the night regularly. We could not have picked a better caterer for our wedding. Do not hesitate to book Michael's for your event! He is simply the best to work with and the food is always cooked to perfection. Thank you again for going above and beyond and truly giving us the best experience on our wedding day!

Michael worked with us related to pricing and timelines for payments, which was really wonderful. Other caterers wanted half of the payment up front and the other half two weeks before the wedding, which was tough for us paying for our wedding on our own. I will say too that any time I reached out to them for questions that someone got back to me within 24 hours.
However, there were a few things that could have been improved upon, such as planning and staff. Michael was very chill,which you need as a bride, but almost too chill... prior to the reception, it felt like details were not finalized. The night before the wedding, Michael contacted me and asked me if I wanted coffee at the reception, which we thought was included in our package. He said it wasn't listed on my contract, which none of the 10+ people who reviewed our contract including us picked up on. We added this cost the night before the wedding. He also reached out to me the morning of the wedding to ask if we ordered ice for our mixed alcohol beverages and to keep our beer cold (since we supplied our own alcohol), which was never mentioned. Michael did end up throwing this service in for free, which was very nice, but this should have been discussed in advance so it wasn't something to stress about on my wedding day.
During reception set-up, we needed an extra extension cord for our sweetheart table and to have a cocktail table pulled over for the wedding cake one of our family members made. My bridesmaids said he brushed them off stating he only brings what he needs. They moved the cocktail table over for the cake into the barn in their dresses themselves. We also worked out an arrangement to have the Michael's move our chairs from the ceremony over into our reception area. They must have been short staffed or had new staff the day of our wedding? My husband had to remind Michael halfway through cocktail hour that this needed to be done. Michael himself had to stop preparing food and carry the chairs over to the reception area.
During cocktail hour one of my guests asked me if she could grab anything for me from the appetizers. I told her definitely scallops wrapped in bacon. Two or three of the catering staff members appeared to be about 16 years old and it didn't seem like they were adequately trained. My guest stopped one of the staff to ask if they could bring some over to me once they were ready and the staff member replied rudely, "there are no scallops wrapped in bacon," and walked away. We both just kind of looked at each other for a few seconds. Fifteen minutes later my guest ran them over to me- I knew we had them! I also notified one of the staff during the reception that the plantains were missing the sauce they should have had on them and she pleasantly responded "ok," and continued serving them to guests. I had to go back over and tell her she needed to go tell the chef that the sauce was missing so he could add it before serving more.
We got tons of compliments on the whole pig and mac and cheese for our barn-style wedding. It completely fit with the theme! The chicken could have used a little more seasoning and the plantains were more dry at our reception than when we did our initial tasting (which was fabulous), but overall the food was good. Michael also organized for additional beer to be delivered.
Overall, we had a great time, but I think that adequate planning and additional/more experienced staff would have improved our experience.

I will personally reinforce to my staff the importance of how we should professionally interact with guests. None of our staff should be rude or seem to come off as rude to any guest and we will do our best to make sure all events are professional. In reference to the server you told about the plantains, she called over the radio and I was working on solving your request with the brown sugar sauce for them.
When booking an event, one of the things we initially discuss is the Coffee and Tea package along with the Soft drinks, Tea and Lemonade package. As we were going over the loading list and packing list the day before we noticed it wasn’t listed (as most weddings opt to add the package or bring their own in). We knew it was going to be cold the night of your wedding which is why I reached out to you for a courtesy call to double check if you would also like the Coffee and Tea package or if you already had it covered. And we were more than willing to provide you with a Coffee and Tea package.
When brides and grooms provide their own beer and liquor they also provide their own ice unless we are requested to bring it. When I saw the volume of alcohol that you dropped off to us we wanted to make sure that you had ordered enough ice from your provider. Since you mentioned no ice was ordered from anyone we were happy to offer the service for free to help out with the event and make sure you were taken care of.
As an owner I am not above doing manual labor, so temporarily stepping away from preparing the food to move the chairs wasn’t a problem. We ending up using one of the trucks to move the 150 chairs to the reception area, where all hands were on deck to unload and set up the chairs. The bridesmaids came up to me while we were pulling chairs out to have me move a table from the cocktail area to the reception area to be used for a cake table. I informed them I would take care of it after I was done unloading all the chairs and move the truck. The bridesmaids opted to move the table themselves.
We will work to improve what we have on hand to make sure we cover any oversight of supplies needed to assist with the clients décor. Such as all the trucks having extra extension cords to try and cover any props/decorations from the wedding party that may need to be lit up.
Overall, I'm sorry you had some unpleasant interactions; our goal is to make your day easier. We will work to improve all areas and aspects of our catering company. Our staff tries to go above and beyond with all events, from cleaning out another provider's restroom trailer trash that night, transporting the all the alcohol and mixers you purchased, to making sure any left behind items were picked up and held for you.

A.MA.ZING.
I don’t know how he did it. But he did. I had a vision for what I wanted and Michael and his team absolutely nailed it. The food, the tent, the tables, the chairs, the dessert, the bar... even the restroom trailer were just perfect. We had our wedding at my grandmothers house which is obviously not normally a wedding venue... but that day it really was and Michael is responsible for making my wedding dreams come true. Everyone has been raving and ranting about the wedding and how great it looked. The food was delicious and there was plenty left over for us to eat... which was still delicious reheated the next day.
Michael has been the one I’ve been in direct contact with and he answers any and all questions (even the stupid ones) with understanding and flexibility. Despite being the head of this company, he still manages to respond to my emails on time and even made time to come out to my grandmothers (which wasn’t a quick ride) to see the layout and help us plan for the day.
I could go on and on about this company but either way, I HIGHLY recommend Michaels Event Catering for all of your needs.

Michael and his staff were a pleasure to deal with, and extremely helpful, in the year leading up to my wedding, and they were simply exceptional on my wedding day. The food was fantastic and even my pickiest guests (including my 11 year old who refuses to explore new foods) were raving. I specifically wanted a meat carving station at my wedding, and Michael did not disappoint. The filet melted in our mouths, it was so good! I learned of Michael’s Event Catering years ago when they catered my sister’s vegan wedding beautifully and deliciously, despite the dietary restrictions, so I had no doubt in my mind who I wanted to cater my wedding. Michael and his staff went above and beyond and I can’t thank them enough for everything! I would highly recommend Michael’s Event Catering, and I hope to have another happy reason to have them cater for me again in the future.

My husband and I were beyond pleased with our experience working with Michael's Event Catering for our wedding. From the very first tasting to the day of the wedding Michael and his crew were so easy to work with consistently showed care and dedication to the event. Michael was always easy to get a hold of and was prompt with his responses to email and was always willing to help and clarify any questions I may have had.
The crew provided us cocktail hour and full buffet for our outdoor wedding. They provided a cooking tent for the event and had every aspect covered no matter how big or small. The staff , servers and bartender were extremely personable and professional! The servers made sure my husband and I were properly fed for cocktail hour and reception, knowing we were distracted by photos and family and we truly appreciated that!
A week after our wedding and our guests are still raving about the delicious food! With the package we choose there were plenty of hors d'oeuvres for our cocktail hour and every single thing was spectacular. Every entree was prepared so well, the meat was tender and juicy and the salmon was absolutely delicious and a fan favorite! Being an outdoor wedding we were nervous the food may not be served warm or promptly. However, this was not an issue at all ! The buffet line moved smoothly and quickly and the food was warm and fresh!
We could not have asked for a better catering experience for our wedding. Everything went so well and we had no worries while working with this company. We cannot say enough positive things about working with Michael and his crew. We are so happy we choose to work with them!

My fiance and I have ultimately decided to elope, but I highly recommend Michael's.
These past couple of months, Robin from Michael's has gone above and beyond to respond promptly, work with us and our vision, and help lead us with her wedding and event knowledge.
The food tasting was delicious and fantastic. With how we were served and presented our meal choices, it was easily imagined what it would be like at our event. We will be booking them for our post-elopement celebrations.
I am grateful of their flexibility and eye to detail. I highly recommend contacting them! They have an array of different options!
