Cannot sing their praises enough! Millpond Gatherings did such a great job with supporting our wedding this past weekend. The event staff is so kind and does their best to really support you in the process. We thoroughly enjoyed our wedding with them and would choose them over and over again! The place is beautiful and was the perfect location for a fall wedding. The food was also such a highlight, so many friends and family came up to us after to tell us how much they enjoyed everything. Thank you Larissa, Gail, and Nancy for all of your efforts to make our day special!
I could have given a 1 star if it wasn’t for Larissa the day of coordinator and the quality of the food. Leading up to the wedding, we spoke with 3 different people. The communication was poor. When Lory the initial wedding planner left 6 months before our wedding, no one emailed and made us aware that she was no longer there so when I attempted to email with questions the emails were bouncing back to me saying the email was no longer available. Leading up to the weeks of our wedding, I would email with questions and I wouldn’t get a response for days. The wedding planner Gail did not make the day of coordinator aware of anything we spoke about so I felt I had to tell her months worth of planning the day before my wedding. We called Gail the day of our rehearsal which was the day before our wedding and she asked if we were having a rehearsal. I met Larissa for rehearsal the night before a little upset with the communication or lack of and she went above and beyond the make sure everything went well. The day ended up being perfect. She always made sure we were doing ok and that we had a drink or food on our sweetheart table. Thank you to Larissa for making it the best day ever!
Our wedding at millpond was incredible. The event staff was so accommodating! Gail, our banquet manager took good care of us and the bridal attendant, Larissa was amazing. We had to switch our ceremony to indoors at the last minute and it ended up being more magnificent than our planned outdoor ceremony at their sister location, heritage homestead. The inside of the venue is gorgeous. My guests kept complimenting how wonderful and nice the staff was and that the food was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. The chef made sure everything was perfect.
Thank you so much, Millpond for providing us with such a memorable wedding.
This venue is stunning. However, the office and communication are very poorly run. I have been communicating with this venue for over a month- paid my deposit… and they could not get a contract out to me. Paying a decent amount of money, I wanted a contract to just ensure nothing would change until the wedding date. I called many times, sent many emails… to no avail. Unfortunately, I had to seek another venue after being in limbo with them for over a month. A month in engagement time is quite a while…
I don’t feel that this venue has the organization or staff to manage the needs of a well-run event.
We were the first wedding here and it was the best ever! If things went wrong, I didn’t know about it. Staff did such a great job, food was amazing & very generous pours for drinks. Highly recommend. This place is only going to get better with time and experience !
Our wedding at Millpond Gatherings was absolutely fantastic. We were about the 15th or-so wedding hosted by Millpond, and I understand from other reviews they may have had some normal growing pains when starting up, but whatever issues they had, they had been worked out before us. The inside of the venue is beautifully finished and the sound quality was very good (we had a band). The food was raved about by many of our guests, and it was extremely plentiful, especially during the cocktail hour with the pasta bar, carving station, and passed hors d’oeuvres. We had several comments from guests who said that their entrée was the best they ever had at any of the dozens of weddings they’ve attended, and I would agree. The champagne and table wine were very good, and the bar rarely had a line. The day-of staff were excellent, and Lory (venue coordinator) is very responsive and has years of experience in the business which helped us consider details we hadn’t otherwise thought about. The staff neatly boxed our (extensive) decorations and centerpieces for easy removal the following morning. We kept within about 10 minutes of our planned schedule for the entire evening. The venue also allows use of the tavern downstairs for an afterparty, so we were able to extend our day until 1AM to spend more time with our guests. If I had one criticism, it’s that the outdoor ceremony location onsite could be improved. If Millpond could just flatten it out, put down better grass and just a bit of landscaping, it would go a long way towards making it an ideal spot. I have no doubt in future years they will improve this. It was risky to book a brand-new venue without any history, but the risk was rewarded, and I encourage anyone planning their wedding to give Millpond consideration. We will always be grateful to the Millpond team for hosting a day that we will never forget.
Hello Tiffany C . First off we want to apologize for your unhappiness regarding the ceremony. As our goal is to meet every brides expectations. After not being able to provide your ceremony at the Millpond location we explained and agreed to move your ceremony to our farm. Unfortunately, both properties are working farms and have multiple venue options. The miss communication on our side regarding not realizing there was a prior venue booked at our farm the same time as your 30 minute ceremony. Thankfully those patrons were more than accommodating knowing that after hearing your unhappiness with having to share the space. Again our apologies to both you and the patrons who we affected.
The upside of the day which I want to thank you for is that we did seem to meet your expectations with our food, service and venue hall. As you may or may not know we are only 7 months and 11 weddings into this business and unfortunately our learning lesson was at your ceremonial expense. Our goal now from here forward is to insure “double booking” will never happen again.
Thank you again for sharing your day with us and we hope to see you in the future.

My husband and I got married at Millpond Gatherings on September 2nd. Knowing we were one of the first people to get married here (there was a handful of weddings before us) we anticipated there would be some hiccups. My biggest recommendation to anyone who chooses this venue is to get a separate day of coordinator who will help manage any problems that may occur so you have a stress-free day!
Pros:
Packages are affordable and provide a lot of food
The food was delicious and there truly was a lot of it
The Hall is stunning inside
The coordinator of the venue replies very quickly and tries everything she can to help you throughout your wedding planning process
Cons:
We had to change our ceremony site from on site at MillPond to Heritage Homestead (their sister venue/farm down the road). At our 1 month appointment the layout of an outdoor ceremony at MillPond was not what we had expected and we were told there was no center aisle to walk down. So in order to have a normal ceremony with an aisle we chose to move the ceremony a few weeks before our wedding. They waived our ceremony fee because of this issue.
Wedding Day we arrived at our ceremony to find that they booked a stag at the same time as our wedding ceremony. Millpond did not call to warn us of this mishap and we arrived to find this situation 15 min before our ceremony started. Thankfully our separately hired day of coordinator went to check out the ceremony site ahead of us because the chairs that we paid for that were supposed to be set up for our wedding ceremony were found inside prepared for the other person’s stag. My day of coordinator was able to rectify the chair situation before our guests and party arrived.
Millpond did not warn us of their mishap ahead of time and apologized but continued to say “it’s fine” when apologizing to our mothers. The bridal party and stag shared the barn space until it was time for the ceremony to start. We were told that the family who owns MillPond would call us to apologize. We never received a call or email.
Moving on to the reception. Our food as I said above was delicious! They did have to cook the chicken dish a bit more for some tables but they rectified that immediately for those guests. Honestly best wedding food we ever had! We nearly maxed out the place so I think because of that it took a bit longer for our dinner to be served. Unfortunately because of this our photographer and videographer did not get their meals. The serving staff were very nice!
I think MillPond is beautiful inside and priced well compared to all of the other outrageously priced barn style venues in the area and the food was amazing! I anticipate they learned from their mistake and would hope that the ceremony double booking wouldn’t happen again. My biggest problem is in the way they handled the situation that was poor. Not telling us ahead of time and never hearing from the owners after as we were told we would. There was a lot of changes to details throughout our wedding planning process but we hope that won’t happen for others who booked later after many details have now been finalized. It sucks that this is their first review but Its honest and I wanted to be upfront and transparent to all who are interested in MillPond.
