rom the start Taylor, the sales coordinator, was exceptional to work with. She answered all of our many questions in a prompt manner and never seemed like we were bothering her. From the initial tour to the day of the wedding, I felt secure and happy everything was handled. The outside ceremony was beautiful and picturesque. Our cocktail hour did not seem overcrowded even though we had 200 people in attendance. The passed appetizers were delicious, and they had many options to choose from. The reception was beautiful with the extra touches they offer, such as the draped lights feature and colored napkins. The dinner food was good, and the kitchen was very accommodating when it came to dietary restrictions. And lastly, the bar never had too long of a line. Overall, we are so happy we had our wedding here and had a great time and experience. No regrets at all and would certainly recommend to anyone who is looking for a beautiful Golf Course wedding!

onfident that the day would go off without issues and having good customer service were my top two priorities of a venue and I knew I had that with Mistwood from the very first meeting I had with Taylor. Icing on the cake... the venue is GORGEOUS! I think the pricing is on par with other golf clubs and you get what you pay for. The venue is so pretty, you have flexibility to be minimal with decor or go all out. Our guests enjoyed the food. My husband and I really enjoyed the tasting event that allowed us to try everything before we decided. An odd compliment I wasn't expecting but received several times was how well the day flowed from one space to the other and from one agenda item to the next. We experienced no issues on our day, and the few things we would have done differently were so trivial I essentially wouldn't have changed a thing! I feel like I could go on and on and with our wedding happening only 2 weeks ago I'm still riding a high! I would definitely recommend Mistwood!

entire process. My only recommendation is to make sure that the cocktail hour area is big enough for your guests. We had more people attend than expected so it was a bit cramped. Once cocktail hour ended, however, we had plenty of room for our 150 people wedding. The golf course was a beautiful backdrop for our photos also! I love that we did not have to share the venue with other weddings. I was rustic and personal and I would highly recommend.

e 6 weeks before our wedding. Luckily an extremely stressful time was relieved by the professionalism at Mistwood Golf Club. Specifically Taylor P. helped immensely. All of our questions were answered, and every detail was taken care of very fast. Taylor even helped with some place cards the night before the wedding. We are so thankful MIstwood was able to pull everything off perfectly in such a short amount of time.

even had, she directed us to the right thing. She was always excited with us. When a relative suddenly gifted me with a decorator one week before the wedding, she took it in stride without a blink. Throughout the process she responded quickly to my emails. She even showed up to our reception to check in when she had finished another event at MGC’s second venue across town. I’m so glad we got to work with her. Next, I’ll thank Chef Ben, who provided our guests with delicious appetizers and dinner. Actually, the appetizers were so good that my husband and I filled up during cocktail hour and could barely finish our dinner! Highly recommend the mini beef wellingtons. We had about 10 people with various allergies and diet restrictions throughout the room, and they were all accommodated. As for the venue itself, the Great Hall is an elegant tavern style with dark wood and a stone fireplace. The mantle is perfect for displaying a special item for the whole room to see. Our reception of 170 guests fit perfectly. Not too sparse, not too crowded. The cocktail hall is cozy. Keeping the Great Hall divider in place makes for a great reveal when it’s time for the reception. There is a stone wall outside on the cocktail room patio that is a good spot for guests to take photos. The grounds gave our photographer a beautiful backdrop to work her magic. Mistwood works for any season. Even our cold, dreary weather turned out great in photos. I recommend off season for the price break and the venue not being as busy because golf is not active.

They also have a one of a kind chef there that Mistwood is very luck to have!

ive throughout the entire 3-year planning process. On event day, Taylor along with her team, lead by Christine, made it their mission to ensure the couple's vision came to life! We had met the chef, Chef Ben, at the tasting a few months back and he even stopped to say "hello" on the wedding day. He and his team executed the most wonderful 3-course meal that all of the guests still rave about today! We cannot thank Taylor and the whole events team at Mistwood enough. Hospitality is the name of the game and Mistwood will exceed all of your expectations!

t the driving range which we thought we had already booked and it was rented out to someone else but that was a drop in the bucket. The food was amazing, wait staff and bartenders were all friendly, the up lighting and ceiling draping upgrades with twinkle lights was completely worth it, it was so beautiful. We had our ceremony outside and it was everything I dreamed of as a bride. I had little worries/stress on my wedding day because I knew Melissa was keeping everything organized and the banquet manager was also great. Our photobooth was a no call/no show and the banquet manager helped put together a last minute selfie station backdrop and didn’t miss a beat! Would highly recommend Mistwood, great landscape for pictures as well.

The drapery uplighting added a romantic touch to our wedding. All of our guests absolutely loved the menu and the soup shooter were a big hit! The entire staff was friendly, easy to work with, and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding night went perfectly! The chef even went so far as to take our flowers off the wedding cake and make small bouquet for us! I defiantly recommend anyone looking for a unique and wonderful venue to check out Mistwood!

ey were fantastic. As we looked at other venues Mistwood kept separating themselves from the others. As we walked the venue and sat with Taylor on the initial visit we were beyond impressed. The professionalism, attention to detail and quality of the facility was top-notch. After we decided to book our wedding and reception with them Taylor and Melissa continued their excellent level of communication, service and problem solving. In addition, their list of preferred vendors further helped us with the planning and we loved working with all of the vendors they suggested to us. This also was helpful as there was a delay with the arch for our wedding ceremony and Melissa, on her off day, and Heather & Kris, our day of contacts, pulled together to work with the vendor to ensure it was there so there was no delay to the ceremony. We had no doubt that they wanted to do anything they could to make our wedding special for us. We always felt like a priority to them. The chef was equally impressive both at the tasting through answering questions and making requested alterations to meals. On the day of the wedding the food was a BIG hit. Cocktail hour was highlighted by the mini Beef Wellingtons and Chicken Quesadilla w/ margarita shooter, easily the biggest hits with our guests. All of our guests said it was a great meal. We would recommend to anyone looking for a wedding and reception venue to have it at Mistwood.

space out on the gorgeous patio to the terrace room with balconies for cocktail hour to the grand ballroom for the reception is perfect. It all flows together so well. The landscaping and the views of the golf course are gorgeous! It was the perfect place to do our wedding photos without having to go anywhere else. We still get compliments on what a beautiful place it is. Best of all we can visit whenever we want by eating at their delicious restaurant, mcwethys tavern. We had a steak dinner or chicken, both were equally delicious. Our guests loved the food! Hats off to the chefs! The chefs truly care about the food they are serving. They offer many delicious entrees, it is so hard to choose! We had pretzels on a pretzel wall for a late night snack and it was such a hit! The pretzels were devoured! The hors d'oeuvres were also delicious, light & refreshing! All of the event coordinators are so kind and willing to do anything you need to make your day perfect. They work closely with you on everything from the timeline to setting up all of your decorations. We did not have to do anything, but bring our decor to them. They truly take care of you and listen to exactly how you want everything set up. I primarily worked with Taryn and Melissa. These ladies are so so happy to put on an amazing wedding for you! They are responsive, listen, fun, and are so caring. They are experts on the subject and offer so much advice for things to run smoothly. Melissa helped fluff my dress before the ceremony and line us up. She kept us on schedule! She was my calm through the busy-ness of the day, I truly appreciate it. I can tell that they love what they do! They brought their services to the next level by making sure we had a plate of hor d'oeuvres with our dinner so we didn't miss them at cocktail hour. They set aside the top tier of our wedding cake for us to take home and enjoy. When I saw the great hall with my decor they far exceeded my expectations. It was everything I dreamed of. Their bar is stocked with good alcohol and they were able to make many cocktails for our guests. We even had signature drinks, so fun! Our friends and family can't stop talking about the wedding, absolutely everyone had a blast and loved this venue. Mistwood recommended tone productions for DJ, and they were amazing! Our dance floor was packed all night! All of our friends and family have said it's the best wedding they've been to. mistwood worked with my father in law to extend the reception for an hour and it was so easy to do so at the last minute. You can't go wrong with this place! They made planning my wedding easy! I wanted to have everything from the ceremony to photos to the reception in one place and mistwood is perfect for this. They offer alot with their wedding package with great pricing and are more than happy to customize anything for you. I recommend this venue to anyone, but if you are in the local area, don't pass this place up! If I could, I would plan another wedding with them in a heartbeat. I will miss this experience with them, but my husband and I are beyond grateful for this amazing place with amazing people!

We worked with Taylor throughout the process and she was by the far the best! She went above and beyond what I could have imagined. She was in touch throughout the whole planning process and was so helpful at every step. She is the sweetest and I don’t know what we would have done without her. The food was also amazing and all of our guests raved about it! We are so glad we chose Mistwood for the best day of our lives!

ad an outdoor spacious ceremony spot with indoor option available in event of rain, an open reception hall, great food, and on-site scenery for picture perfect photos all needing to be within budget, to which Mistwood checked all the boxes. My husband and I worked closely with Taylor throughout the whole process and were very pleased with her professionalism and attention to detail. I must have emailed, texted or called Taylor over 100 times to which she was always responsive immediately. From our first walk through, to the food tasting, to a couple more walk throughs up to the day of Taylor made the whole process so enjoyable! When we had to reschedule our original wedding date due to covid Mistwood allowed us to do so without any issues and gave us multiple options for rescheduling. Another thing we loved about Mistwood was the fact we were able to have our rehearsal dinner at the practice center so us and our guests were able to truly enjoy the entire venue and great food all weekend! On rehearsal dinner night/Wedding day we had the pleasure of working with Melissa and she did not disappoint helping our day go by smoothly. Anytime me, my husband or someone from the wedding party needing something Melissa was present, available and displayed wonderful communication all day. I don't think there was anything Taylor and Melissa said no too. We were even able to have a nacho cheese fountain (my husband's idea of course) for a nacho bar we had as our late night snack which was a hit with all our guests! I can happily say our wedding day went down virtually stress-free with the assistance of Mellisa and her staff. The one thing I would recommend future brides to keep in mind is that the venue is able to rent out the reception space in the morning, day of event. For our wedding we had a decorator that brought a ton of decor for the outside ceremony/reception hall that required about 5 hours of set-up time. Taylor worked with us in planning for our decorator to decorate outside first and then inside in the event another party booked our venue morning of. Luckily we ultimately ended up not having this issue. We would absolutely recommend Mistwood Golf Club for your event needs as you will not be disappointed with the attentive staff, picture-perfect venue and delicious food.

The day of the wedding, Melissa went above and beyond. Every time I thought "I need to find Melissa" I would turn around and she would be right there already answering the question I was about to ask. It ended up raining and we had to switch to an indoor ceremony at the last minute and Melissa and the Mistwood team handled it so flawlessly people thought it was always to plan to have it inside. She made everything so easy for our special day so we could just focus on having fun! I highly recommend this venue!!

Inside the Reception Hall, I loved the vaulted ceilings, especially with the lovely drapery! I really felt like this space was unique to our personalities! Also, we found that the price was very affordable compared to other venues in the Chicagoland suburbs. They worked with us on customizing our wedding day so it was exactly what we had imagined. I definitely recommend signing your contract with Mistwood!

ther ideas. The Mistwood staff transformed the indoor space with piping and draping to make it look like that was always the plan. That coupled with the beautiful ceiling and flowers made it so that I didn't miss my outdoor experience. Throughout my planning experience, a few different employees left or changed roles, but Melissa, who started just a few months ago, jumped right in and made it all easy. Anything I needed, she was a call or email away, and despite how overwhelming it is for a first time bride, she never made me feel silly for asking questions. She even problem solved some minor details with me so I didn't have to purchase more items to use for only one day. On the day of, Melissa made it all run so smoothly. I was so impressed with everything there, and most importantly for my guests, the food and drinks were outstanding. I highly recommend using Mistwood.

with Taylor. I've been in the wedding industry for almost 8 years and when I say she was easy to work with, I say it with great appreciation for all she does. As with many families over the past year, we planned during the pandemic and had to 'pivot' multiple times. Taylor worked with us and kept us calm. Whenever we had a question, it was "yes, let me look into that." - so refreshing to hear! The entire staff was amazingly accommodating. I had read reviews on the quality of food and let's just put that to rest. Our guest raved about their meal!! Chef really produced a top quality experience. We could not be happier that one of our most cherished lifetime memory.

We toured the place & we honestly didn’t even bother to look at other venues. It was perfect for us our guests and what we wanted. Throughout the entire process Taylor basically held our hands, she was amazing. I had so many questions & she would quickly answer them. It was always so easy to get a hold of her. We definitely had the best experience despite so much unknown. She also let us go check out the venue again before our wedding to see how things would be set up, which helped bring the nerves down & she was also so helpful and full of advice and ideas. When the day finally came she walked me and our family through everything. She was so attentive. The day went smoothly and beautifully! We are so grateful! Definitely Mistwood is a place I will recommend and a place I look forward to celebrating other events at. We are so happy with the service, highly recommend a brunch wedding- mimosa bar was a success! & Taylor is the best!♥️

bridal suite that opens into the women’s restroom. The beautiful golf course as the backdrop doesn’t hurt anything either. Their events manager Taylor will make sure you are taken care of the entire time, from the moment you book your first tour to when the last song plays. Our original wedding had to be canceled due to COVID but Taylor contacted us right away to help us reschedule. To say we had a lot of questions is an understatement, even before COVID, but no matter the time of day we got replies back quickly. Some other bonuses are that their is only one hall at Mistwood so you will be the only wedding and will get 100% of their attention, they also have a nice one on one food tasting so you can go over the menu personally to make sure it meets your needs and taste, there are also large balconies that look over the golf course for some beautiful views for you and your guests to enjoy. One thing they did that brought tears to my eyes was offer to bring food to my maid of honor who was told she had to quarantine the day before our wedding. I was devastated but knowing that they would deliver her food so she could eat with us and still be a part of the celebration helped tremendously. If you want an amazing wedding that people will be talking about for years to come, you have to pick Mistwood. Everywhere else we looked paled in comparison and after hearing how some other halls treated couples during COVID we know we picked the right place because they care about their couples and make sure they have the wedding of their dreams like we did.

certainty. Let me tell you though, throughout our entire wedding process pre-COVID and during COVID, the Mistwood staff was EXCELLENT! I worked with Becky and Taryn (who are no longer there because they moved out of state) and then ended my last few months with Melissa, and all three ladies went above and beyond. They always answered all of my questions quickly and were just great support systems throughout the entire planning process. We were able to taste test before COVID hit and the food is absolutely incredible. The chef is truly brilliant. Cancelling with Mistwood was a breeze. They didn’t give me a hard time about anything and completely understood why we were making the extremely difficult decision to cancel. They truly care about their clients. The venue is beautiful and I hope one day we can host some sort of celebration at Mistwood. To all future brides looking for venues, look no further! Mistwood is your place. You can expect a perfect wedding working with them.

She sat down with us multiple times to go over everything and she was responsible for our wedding going off without a hitch. The food at Mistwood is out of this world. We had several guests say the filets at our wedding were the best they have ever had. I wish we could relive this day again, but I am so grateful we chose Mistwood as our wedding venue.

When I walked in on our wedding day it was more stunning than I could have imagined! The food we had on our wedding was amazing. I received so many compliments from our guests saying it was the best reception meal they have ever had! I would choose Mistwood 100x over again, everything was perfect!

t a year and a half ago we started looking at wedding venues. We probably visited 6-8 different spaces in our area, none of which made us super excited. We didn't want a traditional ballroom, we wanted an outdoor wedding ceremony on site, and wanted to use somewhere that people wouldn't expect. We came across Mistwood, and decided to check it out. We first met with Taryn, the event coordinator. When I tell you she is the best thing that ever happened to us in the wedding planning space, it is no lie!! Taryn basically doubled as a wedding planner, walking us through every little detail, never trying to sell us something or force an upgrade, never pressuring us into anything. She is absolutely incredible. Our wedding was originally planning for 6/12/20, so on that timeline we had done a food tasting a few months prior. I figured Taryn was probably the only A+ person there until we met the chef.. he was so creative, and was flexible with us on any changes we wanted to make to our menu selections. Incredibly talented!! I had been talking with Taryn the weeks leading up to June, and ultimately decided we needed to change our date as the state of IL was only allowing groups of 10 at that point. It was hard on us emotionally, but Taryn was super supportive, and called us right away when they had any new openings. Lucky for us, 8/7/20 opened up and we took it right away. Taryn was exceptionally easy to get in contact with, and always made herself available if needed. I didn't have to do a thing the day of the wedding (as it should be), but I also didn't have to designate members of my family or wedding party to take care of setting anything up. Taryn and her team did everything for us. Set up, vendor coordination, directing guests, and even making sure my dress laid perfectly right before I walked down the aisle.  I get tears in my eyes writing this because I am SO THANKFUL for Taryn and for Mistwood. I've heard horror stories of wedding vendors, especially in the pandemic, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Even after Taryn had left for the night, the remaining staff and event coordinator knew exactly what to do and how to take care of us. Gosh I just want to relive that day over and over again thanks to the fantastic team at Mistwood.

The Great Hall was exquisite with its rustic charm and beautiful view; also comfortably accommodating our large wedding guest list. Taylor did a wonderful making sure that our vision for the day was executed perfectly. With her attention to detail and the experienced staff, we were able to enjoy our wedding day to the fullest! (She even went above and beyond and went out to get medicine for a guest who had a slight allergic reaction--a fact that I didn’t even know about until the following day.) The food at Mistwood was amazing! From the appetizers to the late night snacks, everything was delicious. Chef Ben was even extremely accommodating with the very strange dietary restrictions my guests required. From the first time we went to Mistwood and every time that followed, we felt like family at Mistwood and have yet to find a fault in this extraordinary venue. I would highly recommend having your wedding or event at Mistwood because everything was above and beyond perfect!

enue so great is the people who work there and helped make your wedding perfect. We started off working with Becky, who was great – worked with us to select a date (would let us know if others were also looking at that date), quick at responding to emails and answered all our initial questions. About halfway through the wedding planning Becky left and Taylor took over helping us. At first we were concerned about the change since we had been working with Becky for 5-6 months already, but Taylor made the transition so smooth and we were instantly reassured everything would be taken care of and had nothing to worry about. Taylor was so easy to work with - great personality and extremely quick at responding to emails (usually within the hour no matter what time you sent it). Also, if for any reason Taylor was unavailable (rare), her boss Taryn stepped in to meet with us so we never skipped a beat. The whole staff was willing to work with us to make our day perfect, even the chefs. We had an extra hour between pictures and cocktail hour, and the chefs were able to work with us and serve the bridal party a small amount of all the appetizers prior to the cocktail hour which was perfect since there really is no time during cocktail hour for the bride and groom to eat. Becky and Taylor also gave us the idea of serving a mini mug shooter with some appetizers (for example, mini margarita with quesadillas or baby Guinness with sliders), which turned out to be a big hit. The one negative we encountered throughout the process was that the taste testing could only be done on Wednesdays or Thursdays at 12 (noon) or 2pm and they would not budge on those time frames, so you must take off work if you want to taste food before the wedding. But during the testing the chef also came out to meet with you and discuss the options which we found very helpful. Overall, such a great venue to have your wedding reception. Makes for stunning photos to look back on and the staff helps to ensure everything goes smoothly so you don’t have to worry!

. You could tell she was experienced! Becky left and Taryn took over who was also easy to get in touch with. Beautiful outdoor and indoor venue for a wedding! Unfortunately it poured on our wedding day and we had to move the wedding indoors. I initially was told they would drop a curtain and decorate for the indoor wedding, however on the actual day, all they did was drop a white curtain-thank god my family was able to come up with last minute alter and decorations! Due to the heavy rain, it was very hard to move around the venue- first looks happen in a different building than where the bridal suite is, and there was no plan to help move the bridal party around without getting soaked!Created a lot of confusion and made it difficult to get in photos-I actually had to get some photos after dinner! I am thankful the tavern manager (I can’t remember her name now) saw me and my bridesmaids struggling in the rain and was able to help us get a covered golf cart to get my to my husband for first looks! I unfortunately was unable to move the bridesmaids out of the reception room due to rain and lack of available covered golf carts... I wish Mistwood or Taryn was better prepared for rain! However, the food was excellent- the serving staff and bar tenders were outstanding! The set up team worked wonders and it amazed me how fast they were able to turn the room around from the ceremony to the reception! I would recommend this venue-but I would recommend going over details if it rains (what decorations they will or won’t provide, and how to move around the venue since there are multiple buildings without getting soaked-sometimes an umbrella is not enough!) I would also recommend hiring a wedding coordinator to work along with the director of sales Mistwood provides!

er best to incorporate our vision without breaking the bank. She was easily accessible through email and with so much in our plate, made us feel like we had nothing to worry about the day of the wedding. Guests said the food was delicious and our pictures at this venue turned out beautiful. The only thing I did not like was having to take home everything the wedding instead of picking up the next day, but would still give 5 stars and recommend Mistwood to everyone! ome. Becky left Mistwood in June 2019 and Taryn took over. She gave quick replies, was very organized and helped see the event through until the end. You can expect prompt, helpful communication. Day of wedding we felt taken care of by the servers who were professional and knew what to do. We really wanted to give a full star rating but we can only give 3.5/5 (a reflection of our honest feelings) for reasons below. Here is feedback in hopes it will help others: - If service, aesthetics, and environment is important to you, Mistwood is a great option and will deliver. We will have stunning, lasting photos from that night. If these are your top priority, can't go wrong. - If food is important to you, this is sadly where we couldn't give a 5 star rating. Other reviews of Mistwood raved about the food which was a big reason we considered it. We and our family like and know good food. Although we are not food critics and would have been understanding of minor things, we were quite disappointed. I felt sad during the meal when I tried it, realizing this was being served to our guests. The majority of people we asked for honest feedback after also admitted they ate to be polite but it was not a great meal. We understand banquet food for 180 is difficult to do well, but just be aware it may be less than what you hoped and not the same as the tasting. Also if you love food, be very clear about your expectations before the event. We will omit specific food comments here but Taryn did give those notes to the kitchen. We really hope it will be better for others.  - Finally, in the transition between Becky and Taryn, there were some prices Becky had quoted that were different from what was charged. Taryn corrected it after we pointed it out and was fair about what was said previously. So just be vigilant checking over details and numbers. Overall, we try to look back and remember the happy parts of our day. But since you're paying a lot--the largest portion of your budget--for venue and food, we wanted to share honestly and wish everyone the best experience.

ter a long Saturday night after she worked a wedding. She was so committed to making our day so special. And it was SO special. I had a vision of a fall wedding and gathered some decorations but she put the vision all together. I didn't have to do anything! I easily dropped off the material and she made the space look amazing. She also answered all my crazy questions whether it was in bulk or a single question email. She was so accommodating and even let us set up meetings with her just to look at the space and imagine our wedding "vision". The venue space is beautiful. It's a rustic but sophisticated atmosphere. The accents of wood and almost medieval-like appearance made it so unique and special. It was nice and open. Our DJ was easily placed in the middle of the room. We enjoyed all the farm tables that gave us our fall look. Plenty of room for a variety of stations (desserts, photos, etc.) The view to the golf course was just breathtaking. We got to take advantage of the terrace during cocktail hour which made for great pictures for guest and ourselves. Nice for some fresh air with the amount of people we had too. The food was incredible. We were able to meet the Chef and make a personal connection with him and our menu. We got so many compliments not only for the taste but for the serving size. They provided so much food for each guest. The appetizers were unique and tasteful. The bartenders were so polite and quick! The course is beautiful for pictures. We were lucky that it was rainy the day before and it ended up being closed for easier movement around the course. There are so many beautiful spots to take pictures - we would've been out there for hours. I wish we did! :) There was nothing that went wrong! I cannot express how amazing Mistwood was for a wedding. I recommend it for anyone! We live in the neighborhood and have already been back to the restaurant there to remise our special day. We also will continue to participate in the events they hold there because of how special they made us feel. I cannot express how amazing this experience was with Mistwood and the staff (especially Taylor). I wish I could repeat the night over and over. Can we just do it all over again?! Thank you Mistwood for the incredible experience. You made the start of our marriage so wonderful.

coordinator, Becky was amazing and so helpful with everything. We couldn't be any happier with our wedding. The golf course was such a great place to have a lot of our pictures taken as well. The scenery was just perfect!! I HIGHLY recommend Mistwood Golf Club for weddings, wedding showers, or any event! We loved every minute of it!
