The initial consultation included a detailed questionnaire that helped us get to know the wedding team and the resorts they partnered closely with. This is a HUGE plus because they have been to so many resorts and are able to help you narrow down which one meets your needs and vision the best. Sherissa and Itzel were our wedding planners and Sheba was our primary travel agent along with Austin and Anna. They were all absolutely amazing!!! We had 75 guests for our destination wedding flying in from all over the United States. Sheba and her team coordinated all of the travel and itineraries for our family and friends. They all had amazing experiences and appreciated the intimate communication to book the reservations. They also coordinated all of the travel with Amstar and made it extremely easy to get to and from the airport/resort. Now onto Sherissa. She’s absolutely amazing, so organized, and reviewed plans and contracts to make sure everything was in order. She partnered with Secrets Akumal previously and our wedding planner at the resort which made communication so much easier. It’s also a plus that she’s been to the resort and gave me a lot of heads up on what to expect. I was extremely nervous planning a wedding at a resort outside of the US and she made it an incredible experience and eased my fears. She was someone to vent to, plan the big day with, and also was the primary communication between myself and the resort. She also reached out to the wedding coordinator at the resort directly to get answers to our questions. I couldn’t recommend her enough. Our wedding was everything we’ve ever dreamed of (AND MORE) and we owe that to the planning and coordination of Modern Destinations. Everything was perfectly planned and coordinated. Communication was amazing. Incredible staff (literally the entire team!!!) There is not one thing we would change. If you’re contemplating a destination wedding and/or do not know where to start, Modern Destinations is the team you need to plan your perfect day. . Not a fun experience. One meeting with Sherissa and we had are venue and to do’s and where on our way. She stayed involved and jumped in with any “hick-ups” from any vendor. She was an amazing resource for us. I found her through my company’s benefit program. So grateful.

Fereshta has been my go-to during this time- she contracted the room block, responds to emails within hours, and is CC'd on all my emails to resort vendors to make sure things are going smoothly and getting done! She does all this with the most bright, sparkling personality that makes you *know* she wants the BEST for you and your special day! After each conversation with her, I am always so happy, calm, and excited for our tropical wedding! Also, after you choose your resort, and get your block they go the extra mile of providing you a travel website! This is where all your wedding guests will go and request a quote. Guests will then work with the Modern Destination travel team to book rooms/excursions during the wedding stay! My travel advisor, Sheba, was ON IT when it came to explaining the process, and getting everything set up on the website for my guests, I have to commend them on this site because it is clean, clear, personable, and cute compared to other destination wedding booking sites I've seen. My guests have started to request quotes as well, and they said the response time is quick and the responses are professional, kind, and helpful! Okay, my last shout out goes to Anna, who helped us book our honeymoon resort! She was great at giving diverse options, and also gave us some personal insight and advice when we were stuck between two. I love when you can read someone's email and see their personality, and I could see Anna's caring, connecting personality from her emails. As a bride, you want a team that makes you feel confident, happy, secure, and cared for- this was MY team at Modern Destinations with Fereshta, Sheba, and Anna. All my phone calls were refreshing, joyful, and just filled with laughs. I always thought planning a destination wedding would be stress, stress, stress- but with Modern Destination it has been a JOYFUL and FUN experience! They have your back on everything, and I am so so grateful for all their help, positivity, and hard work. They gave us a lot of info and we’re patient with us when we basically wanted to just talk through all of our thoughts on the phone. They also helped set us up with a site visit for the one we chose at a discounted rate which was great. Set us up with transportation as well. This was helpful to be able to get a feel for the resort and where we would like our room to be for the wedding, also menu tastings and have a vision for the actual area in which we would chose to have the wedding events. Fereshta was very sweet and calmed me down when I would be overwhelmed and assured me I was doing fine which was helpful. Once booking came into play they have their own travel team which does the booking and travel side with guests. Krystal was absolutely amazing and attentive. We definitely called her way too much but she was always there for us throughout the process. So thank you Krystal for putting up with us. We ended up having about 80 people attend our wedding. Only 2 couples who decided to stay off resort. The rest booked with us at El dorado royale/ generations. Krystal even went out of her way to make sure we got rooms at generations (the kid friendly resort) when they originally were fully booked for our dates. Not sure how she pulled that off but we are grateful. The only negative feedback from our guests were some mentioning they were getting some slow delays with hearing back from a couple of the travel agents about questions. But at the end of the day the team was a great help to us as the couple with doing all of the work for us. Texting and calling out friends and family and giving them updates for deadlines and such. We barely had to do anything. The only other issue we had is we chose to use their free site for email invites and something was wrong with the gmail where people did not receive the invites. I ended up texting the website to most of the guests but everything worked out. All my guests as well as us had a positive experience with the wedding and the transportation to and from airport and that was the most important.

She assisted me with choosing excursions, communicating information to guests and much, much more. Whenever we spoke, I felt like I was talking to a friend. All of my guests were happy with their experiences with MDW as well--they even assisted with hotel transfers etc. It was truly a great experience and I have already recommended them to people I am close to. 10 out of 10 for sure ❤

ed recommendations for vendors. They were super helpful in getting about 80 of our guests booked at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya and scheduling their transportation. Only one guest was unable to contact support from the hotel to the airport. The guest ended up booking their own taxi despite already paying for their transportation. Modern Vacations were also helpful defining terms in the contract. My only feedback is the response rates from the team. Sometimes we wouldn't hear back for days or weeks. We also wished they confirmed transportation with our guest earlier. Most of my guests didn't get a confirmation until the week of the wedding! I was also hoping for more support when working with my onsite coordinator. Overall, they were a great travel agency to work with!
