Modern Destination Weddings

a wedding in Mexico. It felt so daunting at first, but Modern Destination Weddings cut out all of the guesswork and made everything incredibly easy from the very start. After listening to all of our needs-including the fact that our group loves to have a lot of fun- they found the resort that was absolutely perfect for us. They presented several options they felt aligned with our vision, and the one we chose ended up being everything we hoped for and more. They managed travel for all 114 of our guests, which made the entire process unbelievably easy. I never had to stress about the travel details because they handled everything seamlessly. Once everyone was booked, I was transitioned to my on-site wedding planner, Mitzy. The planning process does feel a little “blind” at moments, and you really do have to trust the process, but it all came together beautifully. I ended up having the best week of my life, and so did every single person who attended. Our wedding was beyond anything I could have imagined. Sherissa and her team went above and beyond from start to finish, and I can’t recommend them enough.

my guests whenever they needed assistance with their room reservations. I honestly couldn’t recommend Modern Destinations more. I worked firsthand with Sherissa throughout the entire process, and she was absolutely amazing—attentive to every detail, incredibly easy to communicate with, and always responsive. She made sure everything was handled quickly and efficiently. Planning a wedding can be stressful, especially when it’s in another country, but Sherissa made the whole experience so easy and enjoyable for me. I got married in Cabo at the Grand Fiesta Americana, and it was by far the best weekend of my entire life. I truly couldn’t imagine a better experience or a smoother planning process. Thank you, Modern Destinations (and Sherissa!), for helping make my dream wedding come to life!

communicative, informative, and available at all times to help us throughout this process. We absolutely loved working with them to plan our special week. Everything turned out perfect, and that was in large part to the work that they did. We had 66 guest attend our destination wedding, and every single person complimented the Modern Destination team for their organization, clear and consistent communication, and for helping complete all logistics for getting to/from the resort. We highly recommend using Modern Destination Weddings for planning your wedding, as it was the BEST decision that we could've made! They will handle a lot of the stress for you, allowing you to focus on the details of your vision. 10 out of 10 rating from us, you won't be disappointed!

anning process stress free for my guests and I! I’m not sure what we would have done without them. They really took the hard part of planning the wedding off my plate! My guests and I were pleased with how prompt and professional the Modern Destination Weddings team was to assist everyone with their questions and booking needs. The over all experience working with Modern Destination Weddings was seamless and easy. I can’t recommend them enough! Thank you again Modern Destination Weddings for helping us plan our big day!

nt updates. I didn’t have to stress about any of the travel aspects for our destination wedding, which I am so grateful for. Would highly recommend them!

dling everything for my guests travels. We talked to different travel agencies before committing to MDW and ultimately their customer service made us feel at ease. It was a plus that travel to and from was included in our package. I was able to get some good comps as well. I definitely would recommend them to anyone doing a destination wedding.

n arranged shuttle service for us. I would 100% recommend them!!

se them as well as they were friendly, reliable, and extremely communicative (all things you want when planning a destination wedding). The initial consultation included a detailed questionnaire that helped us get to know the wedding team and the resorts they partnered closely with. This is a HUGE plus because they have been to so many resorts and are able to help you narrow down which one meets your needs and vision the best. Sherissa and Itzel were our wedding planners and Sheba was our primary travel agent along with Austin and Anna. They were all absolutely amazing!!! We had 75 guests for our destination wedding flying in from all over the United States. Sheba and her team coordinated all of the travel and itineraries for our family and friends. They all had amazing experiences and appreciated the intimate communication to book the reservations. They also coordinated all of the travel with Amstar and made it extremely easy to get to and from the airport/resort. Now onto Sherissa. She’s absolutely amazing, so organized, and reviewed plans and contracts to make sure everything was in order. She partnered with Secrets Akumal previously and our wedding planner at the resort which made communication so much easier. It’s also a plus that she’s been to the resort and gave me a lot of heads up on what to expect. I was extremely nervous planning a wedding at a resort outside of the US and she made it an incredible experience and eased my fears. She was someone to vent to, plan the big day with, and also was the primary communication between myself and the resort. She also reached out to the wedding coordinator at the resort directly to get answers to our questions. I couldn’t recommend her enough. Our wedding was everything we’ve ever dreamed of (AND MORE) and we owe that to the planning and coordination of Modern Destinations. Everything was perfectly planned and coordinated. Communication was amazing. Incredible staff (literally the entire team!!!) There is not one thing we would change. If you’re contemplating a destination wedding and/or do not know where to start, Modern Destinations is the team you need to plan your perfect day. We are excited to continue to use them for travel in the future!!

it came to booking the hotel and travel.

a destination wedding would be a draining ordeal but Sherissa and team did a fantastic job guiding us until the end. Not only that, Mike and his sales team handled our resort requests promptly and resolved all of our guests’ transportation concerns. We highly recommend hiring their services if you want a memorable wedding planning experience!

ur vision, and helping everyone book their travel seemed like a mountain of tasks. I wanted our wedding planning process to be as stress-free as possible so I could truly enjoy the day with the people we love. That’s when I was pointed toward Modern Destination Weddings, and they turned out to be nothing short of a miracle! Working with Sherissa, Itzel, and Sheba was an absolute dream! From the moment we connected, they made everything so easy. Sherissa guided us through the process of selecting the perfect resort. After we went over our vision and budget she sent over so many good options and really helped me feel good about our choice by sharing additional pictures, reviews and even videos. She truly went above and beyond to ensure the resort matched the vision I had for our special day and the entire experience turned out to be even more than I could have imagined! They didn’t just make the big decisions easier—they also handled all the little details that I was dreading. Thanks to them, I didn’t have to field endless questions from family members about international travel or logistics. They were always patient, kind, and supportive, even helping with my smaller worries that they certainly didn’t have to. Their expertise and care made me feel like we were their top priority every step of the way! When our wedding day in Cabo finally arrived, it was everything I had dreamed of and more. I felt completely present, surrounded by the people I love, in a place that now holds so much meaning for us. I can’t thank Modern Destination Weddings—and especially Sherissa, Itzel, and Sheba—enough for making it all possible. I now tell everyone that a destination wedding is the way to go, and if you want the process to feel seamless and stress-free, you have to work with Modern Destination Weddings. They will make your dream wedding a reality!

. Not a fun experience. One meeting with Sherissa and we had are venue and to do’s and where on our way. She stayed involved and jumped in with any “hick-ups” from any vendor. She was an amazing resource for us. I found her through my company’s benefit program. So grateful.

ate room bookings, flights and transportation for each of our guests. Communication with the resort was difficult, but Sherissa was persistent in reaching out to make sure things ran as smoothly as possible. She was easy to teach by text or phone and we had regular Zoom calls to make sure everything stayed on schedule. I’m really glad we hired this group to help us plan our wedding.

o take. We only had a short period of time to plan this wedding and they made it happen seamlessly. Sherissa and Itzel were so helpful and patient throughout the entire process. We absolutely loved working with them. They gave us all the details to the hotel including things we wouldn’t even think to ask. We wouldn’t have been able to plan this wedding without them. If you are looking to plan a destination wedding, reach out to modern destination weddings for an easy process!

rmth and kindness to everything she does. I don't know how we could have done any of this without her! -Alyssa and Romney

om Fereshta, a senior wedding specialist within the company. Fereshta has been my go-to during this time- she contracted the room block, responds to emails within hours, and is CC'd on all my emails to resort vendors to make sure things are going smoothly and getting done! She does all this with the most bright, sparkling personality that makes you *know* she wants the BEST for you and your special day! After each conversation with her, I am always so happy, calm, and excited for our tropical wedding! Also, after you choose your resort, and get your block they go the extra mile of providing you a travel website! This is where all your wedding guests will go and request a quote. Guests will then work with the Modern Destination travel team to book rooms/excursions during the wedding stay! My travel advisor, Sheba, was ON IT when it came to explaining the process, and getting everything set up on the website for my guests, I have to commend them on this site because it is clean, clear, personable, and cute compared to other destination wedding booking sites I've seen. My guests have started to request quotes as well, and they said the response time is quick and the responses are professional, kind, and helpful! Okay, my last shout out goes to Anna, who helped us book our honeymoon resort! She was great at giving diverse options, and also gave us some personal insight and advice when we were stuck between two. I love when you can read someone's email and see their personality, and I could see Anna's caring, connecting personality from her emails. As a bride, you want a team that makes you feel confident, happy, secure, and cared for- this was MY team at Modern Destinations with Fereshta, Sheba, and Anna. All my phone calls were refreshing, joyful, and just filled with laughs. I always thought planning a destination wedding would be stress, stress, stress- but with Modern Destination it has been a JOYFUL and FUN experience! They have your back on everything, and I am so so grateful for all their help, positivity, and hard work. If anyone around me were to have a destination wedding in the future, I would be giving them Modern Destinations number immediately!

Sherissa and she was amazing ! She was so patient with all my last minute changes and emails and was great at communicating and organizing all our guests travel and questions. Overall would 100% recommend !

insight into the resort and area, and much much more. We could not have done it without Sherissa and Krystal. Our guests were happy with the pricing, the process, and it truly made an impact on our special day. I was able to call them anytime and ask the most random question or ask them to help a particular guest with something and they were always there and willing to help. I never had to worry and that was the biggest benefit of having them on our team and during such a stressful planning process. You juggle all these different things, but knowing our guests were taken care of this front was so necessary. I can’t stress enough how great they were.

izing flights and stay for our guests, they were with us through every single step and more. Special thanks to Sherissa Tuttle. Simply put, she is amazing and we have recommended her to couple of our friends who are thinking of planning a destination wedding in the future. She is the queen of wedding planning. Her communication was great, which we appreciated so much esp because of the time difference. Her years of experience and expertise made us feel comfortable with the whole process. We loved loved working with her and her team and can't thank them enough for bringing our dream wedding to life.

y made booking with the resort very easy and seamless. They also helped with airport transfer and that was one less thing me and my guest had to do. If you are planning a destination wedding do not hesitate to contact them to help. It will be one of the best decisions you make.

our expectations were high, and they surpassed them in every way possible. From the moment we engaged with Sherissa, our designated wedding planner, we knew we were in capable hands. Sherissa's patience and attention to detail were remarkable. No question was too trivial, no concern too small for her to address promptly and with care. Her professionalism and warmth made the entire planning process a breeze. One of the biggest challenges of a destination wedding is coordinating with the venue, especially when it's located in another country. Sherissa seamlessly managed all communication between us and the resort's planner, ensuring that every aspect of our vision was understood and executed flawlessly. Modern Destination Weddings truly lives up to its name. They blend traditional wedding elements with a modern approach to planning, making the entire process not only stress-free but also enjoyable. Their expertise in destination weddings shines through, evident in every suggestion and recommendation they provided. Our wedding day in the Dominican Republic was a dream come true, and we have Modern Destination Weddings, particularly Sherissa, to thank for it. If you're considering a destination wedding and want a planner who will turn your vision into reality with ease and grace, look no further than Modern Destination Weddings. They are the epitome of professionalism, creativity, and personalized service, ensuring your special day is nothing short of perfection.

municative. Our wedding turned out beautiful because of her involvement.

of our guests from beginning to end. Even down to check-in, they were available for us. I cannot recommend Krystal and Sherissa enough!

inning process when trying to find what destination I wanted to pick & provided detailed information about each hotel, communicated directly with hotel, & relayed any information back to me! I couldn’t have done it without them. Then when it was time for guests to book, I got great feedback from guests how easy the process was. Everything went very smoothly for our trip & wedding for all guests because of Modern Destinations. Highly recommend!

with a number of locations that featured all of our wants, budget, and timeframe and ultimately ended up finding us our dream location. The team made planning a destination wedding as simple and stress free as possible. We could not be happier with how our wedding turned out! I would recommend Sherissa, Itzel, and the team at Modern Destination Weddings to anyone looking to have a destination wedding.

edding. Itzel and Fereshta helped make my wedding planning so easy and stress free. They were very knowledgeable and professional. The rest of the Modern Travelworks team was amazing and patient with assisting our guests with their bookings. We were very impressed with their service and would most definitely recommend them for guest accommodations for any wedding or event.

them. Itzel and Fereshta were very sweet and helpful with helping us choose a resort. They gave us a lot of info and we’re patient with us when we basically wanted to just talk through all of our thoughts on the phone. They also helped set us up with a site visit for the one we chose at a discounted rate which was great. Set us up with transportation as well. This was helpful to be able to get a feel for the resort and where we would like our room to be for the wedding, also menu tastings and have a vision for the actual area in which we would chose to have the wedding events. Fereshta was very sweet and calmed me down when I would be overwhelmed and assured me I was doing fine which was helpful. Once booking came into play they have their own travel team which does the booking and travel side with guests. Krystal was absolutely amazing and attentive. We definitely called her way too much but she was always there for us throughout the process. So thank you Krystal for putting up with us. We ended up having about 80 people attend our wedding. Only 2 couples who decided to stay off resort. The rest booked with us at El dorado royale/ generations. Krystal even went out of her way to make sure we got rooms at generations (the kid friendly resort) when they originally were fully booked for our dates. Not sure how she pulled that off but we are grateful. The only negative feedback from our guests were some mentioning they were getting some slow delays with hearing back from a couple of the travel agents about questions. But at the end of the day the team was a great help to us as the couple with doing all of the work for us. Texting and calling out friends and family and giving them updates for deadlines and such. We barely had to do anything. The only other issue we had is we chose to use their free site for email invites and something was wrong with the gmail where people did not receive the invites. I ended up texting the website to most of the guests but everything worked out. All my guests as well as us had a positive experience with the wedding and the transportation to and from airport and that was the most important.

he way. I would not have been able to plan my wedding without them. Kendyll was my go to throughout the entire planning process. She was able to ease my mind whenever I reached out to her. She assisted me with choosing excursions, communicating information to guests and much, much more. Whenever we spoke, I felt like I was talking to a friend. All of my guests were happy with their experiences with MDW as well--they even assisted with hotel transfers etc. It was truly a great experience and I have already recommended them to people I am close to. 10 out of 10 for sure ❤

ed recommendations for vendors. They were super helpful in getting about 80 of our guests booked at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya and scheduling their transportation. Only one guest was unable to contact support from the hotel to the airport. The guest ended up booking their own taxi despite already paying for their transportation. Modern Vacations were also helpful defining terms in the contract. My only feedback is the response rates from the team. Sometimes we wouldn't hear back for days or weeks. We also wished they confirmed transportation with our guest earlier. Most of my guests didn't get a confirmation until the week of the wedding! I was also hoping for more support when working with my onsite coordinator. Overall, they were a great travel agency to work with!

lly took all of the stress off of the bride & groom since we knew we were in good hands!

ful questions to help really personalize our wedding so that it fit all of our unique needs. She went above and beyond with coordinating the other wedding parties involved and helped keep our minds completely at ease. I know I would have been a nervous wreck if I tried planning this all on my own, without her. She took all the stress away. And I can’t even describe how thrilled I am with how our wedding turned out. It was beyond what I had ever dreamed and was also extremely affordable. Almost all of my guests told me this was the best wedding they had ever been to.

the process which helped make the process way less overwhelming. Kendyll will fight for you from start to finish to make sure you're getting the best service possible, is so fast at responding, so professional and kind, and is a wonderful and helpful guide for such a complicated process. I couldn't recommend her more.

udget. They helped set up meetings, helped set up our room block and they helped all of our guests book their rooms. It was so nice having someone do this instead of having to do it on our own. Highly recommend!

ing any questions we had, booking all of our guests and our travel AND even helping us on the day of the wedding and when our flight was delayed and our luggage lost. The fee we paid was well worth it.

edding guests book their trips. The group discount that guests received was also amazing. The initial fee is a small price to pay for the peace of mind that comes with working with this travel agency!

them will be the BEST decision you make!

e service, accomodations and flexibility from them. My guests raved about how easy the booking and payment process was, one of them even plans to use them for our friends group vacation next year!

de the planning process easy by helping us pick a venue, setting up our wedding website, and making it easy for our guests to book with Modern Travel. Our Modern Destination Team even helped when our wedding planner at the resort was not being very responsive and they stepped in to help coordinate communication. I would absolutely recommend Modern Destination to anyone who is having a destination wedding. Our guests also commented on how simple it was to book their trip through Modern Travel. Our wedding far exceeded our expectations and we are forever grateful for our Modern Team! Thank you!

lan future trips.
