I hesitated to write this review, but I feel that it's best to be honest. My wife and I hired Modest Events for month-of coordination of our summer 2023 wedding. Our initial meetin...
gs went really well, and we were thrilled with our decision. Unfortunately, about 3 weeks before our wedding, our wedding coordinator completely stopped communicating with us. After over a week of frantically trying to get a response over phone calls, text, email, Instagram, etc, the owner finally made contact to say that an issue had arisen and she would not be able to provide support for our wedding. Initially, she promised to find someone else to handle day-of coordination, but after a few more days of no contact, we decided not to count on that, and asked for our money back. Luckily we were promptly refunded after that, which is why this is not a one-star review.
We hired Modest Events to reduce our stress leading up to the wedding, and instead this created much more stress and work for us and our other wedding vendors. On a personal level, we initially really liked working with the owner, and were so disappointed that things turned out this way.
Ali from Modest Events is the best! I HIGHLY recommend her planning and day-of coordination. She truly made our wedding day so smooth and my husband and I got to actually enjoy the...
day. Ali was there every step of the way helping to ensure our vision was carried out- she coordinated all the vendors, helped with all the last minute details, and solved all the week-of and day-of issues. There was never a time where Ali said “no, we can’t do that.” I was on the fence about planning and coordination services but I am SO GLAD that I got the full package because it took so much weight off me and my guests. Although our wedding was a smaller 60-guest garden wedding, there were so many details that I realize now I would have never been able to pull off with out her. She is definitely the MVP and I highly recommend Modest Events! You will be glad that you booked them!
I cannot recommend Ali and Modest Events highly enough! We planned a very low-key, highly DIY and non-traditional wedding for a lot of people on a small budget. We thought we could...
do everything ourselves, but a few months out we realized how stressful and unrealistic it would be to have to organize the caterers and servers on the day of our wedding. We began a desperate search for a day-of coordinator and Ali was available and eager to help execute our non-traditional event from our first conversation, and was even able to customize a package to our budget. She wound up doing so much more than we asked or expected, helping manage every detail in the days leading up to the wedding and dealing with communications so we could relax and enjoy ourselves. We had an absolute blast at our wedding and so much of that is thanks to Ali's help behind the scenes. We never expected to hire a wedding planner, but hiring Modest Events for day-of coordination was one of the best decisions we made.
We could not be more grateful to Ali and her team for making our wedding day so special and stress-free. From the moment we handed off the wedding day to her, I had complete confid...
ence that things would go beautifully. We planned a wedding for about a hundred guests in just 10 months, and I wasn't intending to hire a coordinator--I am SO glad that I did. If you're on the fence, I can assure you that knowing all your little day-of details will be taken care of is absolutely worth it. Modest Events was so easy to work with and so self-sufficient that I would recommend them to any bride.
My husband & I are still raving about Ali & Kathleen - they made our daughter’s wedding just perfect! They are smart, courteous, prompt, super organized and make it all seem effort...
less! Thanks to this dream team we had a picture perfect wedding at the Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club. Grab them while they are available - you will be so relieved and grateful!
All we can say is our perfect wedding wouldn’t have happened without Ali and Kathleen at Modest Events.
We planned the wedding within 8 months of getting engaged and I thought we...
had everything covered for our big backyard wedding. As we got closer to “the big day”, I knew I didn’t want the little things to stress us out. We inquired to Modest Events and Ali & Kathleen were both so sweet and helpful. They helped us with our timeline, contacted our vendors, and helped set up. Things that no one should be doing on their big day. After the ceremony, they would make sure we had a drink in our hand and made us eat too (it’s a must!).
For having them as “day of” coordinators it was a no-brainer and very affordable too!
Ali and Kathleen are the ultimate dream team and our wedding wouldn't have been what it was without them!
From planning with us in a different time zone, to handing a wedding part...
y of almost 20 people, to being our saving grace with vendor communication, there was nothing they didn't get done perfectly!
My mom has planned events her whole life and she couldn't believe the organization, professionalism, and absolute charm they showed with everyone from our family to venue staff.
If you want your wedding to be simply amazing, look no further than Modest Events. I know these ladies will be lifelong friends and we are forever grateful.
Ali and her team were AMAZING! They were always there to answer any questions we had. She also was always on top of every little detail. I didn’t even have to worry about anything ...
the day of the wedding! She made me feel like she had it all under control, which she did! She also made sure she checked up on us and how we were doing during this planning process. Beautiful job and wonderful staff to work with! Love love love!
I couldn't have asked for more!! Ali was not only 100% professional (prompt, thorough, and our parents LOVED her) but she was also hilarious and so much fun to be around, even whe...
n I was stressing. She made everything so comprehensive and actually easy. I found my bridal shower caterer through her, and my bachelorette party at Mohegan Sun - hotel and dinner reservations and a private table to see a Beatles cover band (my favorite) was entirely her idea. Honestly, by our wedding day it felt like inviting another friend, except one who was really good at damage control. We all agreed to tip her extra since her rates were significantly lower than the other three planners I consulted with, and she went above and beyond in every way! You can trust Ali for an amazing, fun, and personal experience.
Modest events helped me plan and execute both my wedding shower and reception and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. My shower was so personal and all the details felt like a...
perfect reflection of me. She took care of everything—invitations, flowers, food, decorations; the bar setup looked like something from Lauren Conrad’s instagram. Everything was gorgeous and the food was fantastic. As for the wedding reception, I’ll just say this. If you are hesitant about getting a day of planner, trust me, DO IT. It was such a weight lifted off not having to worry about every little detail, and I actually got to enjoy myself! It goes by so fast and I’m forever grateful for all the help that was provided along the way down to the very end.
