About this vendor
Molitor’s Quarry is a scenic wedding venue nestled in Sauk Rapids, MN. More than 40 years ago, owners Ron and Tammy Molitor visited this 100-year-old quarry on their first date. At this romantic spot, Ron outlined his plans to turn the land into a trout farm. After purchasing the estate, Ron and Tammy built the farm and other attractions, including a mini golf course, a petting zoo, and a haunted field. Their picturesque, 20-acre property provides a spectacular and unique backdrop that couples have been drawn to for many years.
Weddings at Molitor’s Quarry can take place in the venue’s many indoor and outdoor sites, which accommodate as many as 1,000 people. Intimate soirees are hosted quarry-side on a wooden deck that looks down upon the serene and water-filled quarry. Lovebirds can also opt to exchange their vows in the tranquil woodlands, where they will be surrounded by lush greenery. For larger ceremonies, Granite Gardens features a gazebo that sits atop the water, while loved ones can watch the proceedings from the shore. A bridge also canopies the quarry and is perfect for taking breathtaking photos. Receptions are held on the outdoor patio or in the rooftop pavilion, where guests will enjoy stunning views of the landscape.
Catering at Molitor’s Quarry is provided by the Executive Chef, who will work closely with couples to devise the menu of their dreams. This Chef works with the in-house Bar & Grill, which serves mouth-watering American-style cuisine. The venue also has a chic get-ready suite where wedding parties can prepare ahead of the festivities and relax with friends and family.

We got married here!! A few of the photos used on here are actually our photos even! I have so many more also! It is a beautiful place! I've been going there to the haunted acres since I was a kid so it was a special place for me with great memories. My friend is looking for wedding venues and sent me a photo of this page because she noticed it was us in the photo! So I wanted to add an updated review because I didnt see mine on there and now am wondering if I didnt submit it right 😆 We had a great experience with Tammy. I see a few reviews saying she wasn't the best and that isn't AT ALL true. She is just honest about things and won't sugar coat stuff for you. That is actually what most prefer so I appreciated that. She was great with us, we loved her! So funny and so nice!! So much that every year when we go to molitors haunted acres (yes i still go every year as an adult even because its always been a fun special place for me my whole life) we look around for her and hope to see her! We did see her a couple years back but this year we didn't see her when we were there again, she said we could page her anytime if we didn't see her but we know how busy it is there during that event and didnt want to bother her! It is always great getting to say hello to her! She thought it was so great that we love it there so much that we chose to get married there. This made me want to plan a lunch or dinner date there with my husband Josh this spring/summer so we can go in and reminisce a bit 😊 I think those who said negative things maybe didn't like how honest she was. Honesty is good though...If you tell her a budget and something you are interested in is out of your budget she isn't going to get your hopes up, she will flat out tell you. Some may take that as rude but I appreciated the transparency she gave, it didnt make her rude. She was amazing on our wedding day and I'd go back and do it there all over again! She was right there anytime I needed her that day and was so helpful! They had chairs and audio setup, she allowed me to bring in an arch to put at the top of the stairs and barrels for the bottom of them. we decorated the railings of the stairs in tulle. She allowed us to do all of that, and I called numerous times with other random questions and we emailed back and forth and she always got back to me. Maybe not right away but she is busy.. she has an entire bar and grill there along with the venue spot out back and all of the grounds they care for, Along with a family of her own so yeah it may take a little bit for her to respond....but she will. We had our rehearsal there the night before and she was amazing for that also. Staff in the bar and grill area were super great also! we had a great experience and would do it all over again so don't let those couple bad reviews change your mind!!! I'm not sure if you can message people on here but if you can and anyone has questions about it feel free to message me here or even on fb because we Definitely recommend this venue and I could go on for days about how great it was! And how easy she made my day because I didn't have to stress about setting up chairs/audio etc. she did those things! 5⭐️ review from us!

Was not impressed with Tammy’s customer service over the phone. I was given her phone number to call directly after inquiry through their website about event coordination and as soon as she answered the phone I was very put off by her tone of voice and lack of care. If someone wants to spend a lot of money to hold their event there and she’s in charge of giving the first impression I was not impressed at all. They also do not do weddings at all in October due to their Halloween events they do. Which was not noted anywhere on their website. I think that would have been helpful to know before going through the process of inquiring and getting someone’s hopes up. Very disappointed but at least I feel like I dodged a bullet with this. Rather be disappointed now rather then putting money down and then having to deal with her more.
Pro:
Very beautiful location for an outdoor wedding!
*Play area and mini golf
Cons:
*Price is way too high for what you get.
*We were promised, and paid for, a social hour with tables, drinks, snacks, but this was never set up and guests were sent into the bar to buy a drink or wander outside, ending up in the reception building to wait.
*Not enough chairs, some guests were standing outside.
*We were told the head table would be served their plates, but instead we were sent to the buffet.
*Not all guests' tables were excused for their turn at the buffet style dinner and the staff started breaking down the food (lots of food left!) before everyone had eaten!
*Poor communication from the beginning. Started off that my date was given to another couple, no or very delayed responses to emails and phone calls.
*The owner promised how great it would be, she would handle everything and make sure things runs smoothly, and would even give us "special treatment" for giving away our original date. This was not the kind of special treatment I was expecting.
* No apology for things missed or gone wrong, not even a follow up, which I would expect after spending that much money for such an important day.
We were oblivious to most of this until afterwards so we did enjoy ourselves and have lovely pictures to remember our special day, but I would not recommend this venue unless you also have a wedding planner to make sure everything is done correctly.
This was a beautiful venue from the start of the day to the finish. We started with photos and the many different backdrops from the quarries to the wooded areas gave the photographer many options to choose from. The happy hour was down by the quarry and was raved about all night. The meal was very tasty but the entire 400 person wedding wasn't able to fit inside and some had to eat under an overhang and had a screen between the main area and their tables. It didn't seem to be an issue at all but would be nice to have everyone to fit inside. The staff throughout the night was very helpful and when they noticed some elderly people not having chairs during the happy hour got them chairs right away. Overall this was a great experience and I would recommend it to any friend.
The venue is absolutely gorgeous and creates a picturesque wedding day. They have so many amenities to keep the kids entertained from play sets to mini golf to feeding the trout. The reception hall is nicely tucked away and doesn't result in any unwanted visitors from the restaurant area. I would highly recommend the venue and if you are on the fence go take a look for yourself and you will be wowed.
There were several different beautiful locations on the property for pictures. One specific highlight was the granite gardens right next to the quarry where the social hour was held. It was also nice that they had the bridal suite available for the wedding party to keep cool, get ready, and do touch-ups. This is a perfect venue for couples looking for a rustic, but elegant place for their wedding!
The outdoor space is absolutely gorgeous! I loved being able to be outside down by the water during happy hour. The food was delicious and the staff were all super friendly. The only downfall would be if you didn’t have nice weather. There is no bathroom in the outdoor space so if it were raining, you would have to go in the rain to go to the bathroom.
After visiting Molitor's, we just knew that this was going to be our venue. The scenery is beautiful and the people here are amazing. Tammy (owner/event coordinator) was just the best. She was so attentive to our needs and really understood our vision for the big day. She made everything so easy, we really had nothing to worry about! The staff is also amazing and the food was great. I would HIGHLY recommend Molitor's not just for the beautiful scenery, but also the high class, respectful, friendly service we received from everyone.
The grounds are gorgeous, the staff is prompt, the food is delicious, they will do everything to make this day go as smoothly as possible! Don’t look further!
What an amazing venue! The outdoor spaces are breathtaking, the staff so detail oriented! Tammy was go great to work with ! She really took the worry out of so many things! The food was delicious as well!!
My daughter got married at Molitors Quarry, the experience we had with their staff was amazing! They went above and beyond in everything they did for us. The food was outstanding and friends and family are still talking about their great experience at Molitors.
WOW! WOW! WOW! Tammy and her team at Molitor's Quarry blew us away with her outstanding service. Molitor's Quarry makes you feel as though you are somewhere totally private and has so many amazing opportunities to make the space your own on your wedding day or event of your choice. From their beautiful bridal suite to their outdoor event space, they got a wide variety of indoor and outdoor spaces to use! I would HIGHLY recommend "the best-kept secret in central mn, Molitor's Quarry.
Molitors quarry is a great wedding venue. All of the stress that comes with planning a wedding can be overwhelming but rest assured Tammy and her staff are always there every step of the way to ensure the day is nothing short of perfect. Not to mention the food, it is fantastic.
Great venue and service! They helped create the perfect day for the bride.
Molitor’s Quarry is an amazing venue for any outdoor wedding. The staff are so extremely helpful and do anything in their power to make sure your day is perfect. The venue is always well kept and beautiful any time of the year!
Such a wonderful venue, still getting compliments! Most of our guests had to travel and many told us the venue we choose totally was worth the travel! They were a breeze to work with and took all the stress out of planning!!! Thanks Tammy and her staff at Molitor’s!
After looking at other places to have our wedding my husband and I knew as soon as we saw Molitor's Quarry that it was meant to be. Tammy the wedding planner/coordinator/owner was amazing to work with. She was upfront about all costs and was so helpful when it came to needing advice for other services. The grounds at Molitor's is so beautiful for a spring, summer or fall wedding. They have to locations to pick from for your ceremony site and a huge pavilion for your reception. Making it a one stop shop! The staff was amazing at helping with anything we needed and Tammy does great at making sure everything goes as planned and if it doesn't you'll never know! We were also able to do our rehearsal and groom's supper at Molitor's as well. We just feel that we got the most for our money with choosing Molitor's. We loved everything about our wedding! We can't thank Tammy and the staff enough for all their hard work.
