Use of Fearn Hall and the prep kitchen is included in rental cost.
Oak Hall is the main event space at the Lodge, and it is ideal for banquet dinners, wedding receptions, and large conference groups. The venue was so beautiful from the inside to the outside!!
We absolutely loved having our wedding at Monte Sano Lodge, the atmosphere was unbeatable and the view was stunning!! The venue coordinators were very communicative and let us do many walkthroughs leading up to the wedding day. They set up all our tables and chairs for us as well, and they have lots of furniture you can use for free at the venue! It is really nice that they have an option for either an indoor or outdoor ceremony depending on the weather, and really either way is stunning! We really can't say enough good things about this spot, it's so beautiful and serene! Absolutely perfect for our little mountaintop wedding!!
I had my wedding here in October and it was absolutely beautiful. The venue is lovely by itself and doesnf require over the top decorations. The view is amazing and I couldn’t have picked a better venue.
Monte Sano Lodge was the perfect venue for us and I am so glad we chose it. I got married in December and my theme was a winter rustic feel. I looked for reviews everywhere and there aren't that many, so I'm going to tell you everything you need to know about this place! First of all, don't expect to have a wedding planner/day of coordinator when you book this venue. You deal with park rangers, who aren't very helpful with anything other than booking the venue. We paid 50% for a deposit and we secured it. After that, I didn't talk to them until 30 days before the wedding, and that was to send the final payment. You will also email/fax them your layout by the day before so their set up team knows where to put everything. The venue was one of the cheapest in Huntsville, but beware that nothing is included. The only thing they provide are inside tables and chairs. You have to rent linens, silverware, chairs for the outside terrace, etc. It ended up being more expensive than going to a more expensive venue that was all inclusive of these things. You can get into the venue at 10am on the day of and you must be out by 10pm. The plus: they have no rules regarding alcohol, so you can bring your own. We loved this part, because we could buy everything that we we liked or thought our guests would like, and just had our caterer provide someone to serve it. They do have a spacious kitchen, which is perfect for catering. Another plus is that most vendors in Huntsville have done an event at the lodge, so they know where to go and where everything is. Since we were going for a rustic feel, we had to do almost no decorating inside. The lodge itself is already charming. We had the ceremony on the outdoor terrace and had our florist decorate the arbor. I highly recommend doing this: our pictures are absolutely beautiful and it really made it the focal point. The view behind it is also one of a kind, and our guests couldn't stop raving about it. One down side: There is a public trail that goes right behind the arbor, so you might have some people walking by during the ceremony or during pictures. Like I said, it was perfect for us and what we wanted and I would recommend it to anyone!
Such a gorgeous location and perfect venue to host a wedding. Highly recommend using the Lodge.
As the renter, you'll have to do all the follow-up communications but it'll be worth your time.
Great ace to get married!
The personnel could have been a little more helpful, but the venue was wonderful. The outdoor/indoor availability was great. The place is beautiful and I would definitely recommend getting married there!
Beautiful location. All staff very helpful in setting up and clean up. Very easy to work with.
Monte Sano Lodge is on a state park, so it's very rustic. The venue is beautiful and I had a very easy time working with the staff. No issues at all with the booking or set up.
Absolutely wonderful venue. It was very nice having the ceremony outside and then the reception inside the Lodge. It was great having the cabins close by as well to get ready. Only problem is must book in advance. We did a Sunday wedding which turned out GREAT for finding vendors at short notice! planned the wedding in 4 months! :)
Located high above Huntsville, but within in a 15 minute drive of downtown. My wedding was on 11-11-11 and the weather was cool, but not cold and we were able to hold the wedding outside among the beautiful fall colors. We rented the whole lodge for the event and would make that suggestion for any wedding. We had about 100 guest and served a buffett dinner. One of the great things about this venue is how the lodge has seperate rooms, but they all flow into one another nicely. This allowed us to give each room a purpose. The main room we used for the wedding cake display, the gift table, the DJ, the bartender, and the candy table. It never felt crowded and prior to sitting for dinner - very light hors d'oeurvres were also served in this room. The large room to the left with the fireplaces on each end is where we had 13 8 person round tables and a sweet heart table set up. Again, not overcrowded and the lodge provides the tables, chairs, and the set-up of the tables to your specifications. The small room off of that room is where we had the buffett set up. With two doors it was easy to keep a nice flow iof the line. On the other side of the main room is a smaller room which was used in multiple ways. First, the room was used as a room to get ready for the bride. A bathroom is located on this side of the building as well, keeping the bride and her bridesmaids secluded until the big reveal. Secondly, we used this room as the location for our photo booth - a must have. We had an open photo booth, so we used one of the couches in the lodge for this. The other furniture from the lodge was also arranged in this room, so guest could dance, sit in the dining hall, or conversate in the photo booth room on the comfortable furiture of the lodge. This is the farthest thing from a hotel type ball room. It is rustic and warm with dark wood and high ceilings. Jessica is the person who does as the bookings and was super easy to deal with. We had several family and friends come from out of town, and this was there first time in Alabama for most. They all commented on what a gorgeous location this was and how nice the lodge was. This place books fast - so if you want something different I definately suggest checking it out.
If you are looking for gorgeous views, rustic but elegant lodge atmosphere then look no further! I have always loved this place! So many great spots for pics, AWESOME views, and Jessica is AMAZING! She is so helpful and is very knowlegable! I would recommend this place to anyone!
