Monteverde Catering

Monteverdes catered my wedding on 11/25/2023. The food was absolutely PHENOMENAL. I am still getting texts raving about the food, particularly the custom Ravioli Bar (so good). Kelly was so great in helping us nail down our menu, flexible with changes and so accommodating for our guests with dietary restrictions. She also made sure Ryan and I ate on our day, serving us specifically (just the absolute best). Additionally, the waitstaff at the wedding was incredible. I kept hearing all night about how wonderful the waitstaff was and they TRULY WERE WONDERFUL! They styled a beautiful cookie table, making sure my husband and I had a big box of cookies to take home knowing we'd have a busy night, they packed a meal for each of us to have at home, they brought in some toys for my nephews to play with (what a hit and were so sweet with the little ones period), and just generally, so helpful and made sure our night was as seamless and as perfect as possible. I could go on and on, but thank you, and I'm going to have to make up events just to use Monteverdes again!

My husband and I hired Monteverde’s as the caterer for our wedding day, and they were absolutely incredible. Kelly was so easy to work with - from our first tasting to other planning meetings to our actual wedding day. Kelly was flexible, accommodating various changes to the menu and guest list as we prepared for our day. She was communicative, and promptly sent updated estimates throughout the planning process. We and our guests loved the food. Kelly’s staff were incredibly professional, and efficiently moved all our guests through the buffet line. Kelly’s staff beautifully plated our cookie table, and packed up the leftovers for us to take home. We would wholeheartedly recommend Monteverde Catering to any couple looking for a wedding caterer in the Western Pennsylvania area.

We used Monteverdes for our rehearsal dinner as our wedding venue provided catering. The staff at Monteverdes was wonderful to work with and they have a number of menu options to meet any budget needs. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all. I would definitely use them again to cater an event.

We're so glad we chose Monteverde. Their prices were surprisingly good, and communication & quality were outstanding. The tasting at their office was fun and we got multiple FULL meals to make sure we got a good taste for our tests! By the time we got to the wedding, we forgot what we ordered, but it was absolutely delicious. Guests raved about the food. We also used them for bartending, and while I didn't interact much with the bartenders, there was never a line built up at the bar and I heard no complaints. They cleaned everything up very nicely at the bar, and the catering cleaned up the venue and packaged our food really well. Overall, I cannot recommend them enough, and would consider hiring them for other large events too if I ever have the need.

Monteverde Catering, with Kelly (owner) is absolutely OUTSTANDING! They catered my daughter's wedding (August 2022) and everyone there is awesome to work with from start to finish. The food is incredible: excellent family recipes that are delicious and unique! All of my guests raved about everything from the appetizers to the main course. They managed guests special dietary needs, helped us with the setup of the traditional Pittsburgh cookie table, and their staff are friendly, hard working and overall OUTSTANDING. I can not recommend Kelly and her crew enough!

This review is long overdue. We were married at The Mayernik Center on June 10, 2022, and selected Monteverde Catering. Kelly is THE BEST! She is so personable from the initial phone call to set the date for food sampling right through the wedding ceremony and reception. Her team were very efficient and catered to all needs. Kelly worked with my wedding coordinator and turned the venue into my wedding vision, from the ribbons on the back of the chairs to the place settings at the table. I cannot say enough of how smooth everything went and we did not have any issues. Kelly was very responsive if I had any questions or wanted to change something up last minute. She is willing to work with you and your budget and delivers quality service. Oh and I almost forgot to mention the most important thing... the food was awesome. Thanks Kelly and Team!

Monteverde catering was a fantastic catering service. We had a great experience with them from doing a tasting with them to the actual dinner at the wedding reception. Kelly even made a special appetizer by request from my husband. The guests loved the food at the reception. Kelly was very personable and pleasant to work with overall. Monteverde made sure that everyone was happy and full at the wedding. They made sure that there was plenty of food, cake and cookies for everyone to enjoy. Kelly even helped and carried my (the bride) plate of food when I went up to the buffet to make sure that this was one less thing that I had to worry about. The linens looked great as well. Great catering service that I would recommend to any couple!

Monteverde Catering was truly delicious and I am still having guests compliment us on the food from the wedding! The Chicken Piccata was amazing as well as the Carved Beef, and the side dishes/appetizers complimented perfectly. Kelly was very professional, easy to work with, and makes a very tasty meal! We highly recommend Monteverde’s for your wedding — they have many options and will work with you to make exactly the wedding day menu you want.

Great caterers!! They catered my daughter’s wedding. The food was delicious!!! 😋 They were accommodating to any changes and responded quickly to emails. They did a great job keeping the cookie table fully stocked. If you need a caterer Monteverde is great choice!

Kelly and her staff are amazing! They made us feel super comfortable from day one and walked us through the process so we could have the perfect wedding. They were very responsive to our needs! Us and all of our guests loved the food. We would recommend them to anyone getting married or holding any event.

Kelly and the team were amazing, we had a few changes due to covid and they moved things around so smoothly and did all they could to help us. Not to mention the food was absolutely amazing!!! Lots of guests asked for Details! They were so helpful and made planning a wedding during this time less stressful!

The most delicious food! I’m never a fan of wedding food but they were able to create a menu for a family style dinner that was like you went to a 5 star restaurant (without the crazy price)!

Kelly and her team were amazing. She met with us prior to the wedding for the sampling. She guided us on what would be best based on our wedding season, and did she ever led us in the right direction. The selections were perfect! I did all of my communicating with Kelly. She followed up with all emails within 1 day, very punctual! Then come wedding day, she was there from early morning, preparing, to the end of the night, cleaning up. She even dressed and was part of the serving staff. She is super personal and professional. Now lets talk food.....AWESOME. The food taste great and was HOT! Nothing is worse than good food cold. The food was hot and delicious. I had multiple people asking who catered. People didn't tell us they liked it, they told us they LOVED IT! Monteverde's was an easy choice for us. Food was great, staff was amazing and owner was awesome to work with. Can't wait to have another function to work with them again!

Incredible food! Incredible to work with! My husband's family needed a kosher style wedding and Kelly went out of her way to make it happen for us. The menu was perfect for our brunch wedding. Also - if you ever get the chance to try their waffles - DO IT!

Monteverde Catering recently catered our wedding, and everything was delicious! We did a food tasting with Kelly before the wedding, and everything tasted was delicious! She was also really good with responding to emails with any questions we had regarding what they could provide. We also rented chair covers and sashes from them, and they definitely helped make the space look beautiful! All of the linens looked great, the servers were very professional, and I was very happy with the food. As an added bonus you get to take the leftovers with you!

Absolutely incredible !! Everyone devoured the food! Me and the hubby barely got any even when we got home and everyone started to munch again!!!

Monteverde's catering did my cocktail hour, served buffet dinner and table linens and chair covers/sashes. I was dreaming about the wedding food from the time of our tasting in November. Really blew the other companies we had tasted out of the water. Absolutely delicious. Mother and daughter with a team of all of their family and friends made it happen perfectly. We added on the gruyere mac'n'cheese muffins to cocktail hour, and you should too! They were efficient and really great about getting everyone fed in a timely fashion. They completely took care of themselves and I never had to ask for anything. Very reasonably priced, honestly I would have paid more for their excellent food and service. Very quick with email responses and asked me questions about details I hadn't even thought of, which is saying something.

Monteverde's Catering was absolutely perfect from the first correspondance we had with them. They were prompt with their communications and thorough with their answers. They gave us a complimentary tasting with us and 2 other people (with full portions!) of all the food we wanted and then some other dishes they thought we should try as well. We decided on going with a buffet, and every single dish we tried was fantastic. The day of the wedding, I didn't even need to speak to them because everything they had done up until then assured me that everything we discussed would be taken care of. And it all was. They even set up our entire cookie table for us, we just had to bring the cookies in tupperware for them. I have nothing but great things to say about everything- food, service, value, all were perfect.

Kelly and Debbie were the most wonderful and loving people we have met in a long time. Their food was amazing and they both made my wedding planning so easy and the day of the wedding run so smooth. They make you feel like you are part of their family and they do everything for you so your not worrying about the little thing. They always had a smile on their faces. They are the most down to earth people and their food was AMAZING!!! I would so book them in all my events. Loved them!!!!

Kelly Goldie and Debra Monteverde are some of THE very best vendors you could ask for when planning an event like a wedding. From the first time we met them at our tasting, you could feel the warmth and care that they give their customers and food. The Monteverde team was enthusiastic about making our day seamless. The food was fantastic. For a group of people that love food, they far exceeded my expectations for wedding food. I never expected that we would have such a great response with our food at our wedding, but I think some of our guests are still talking about it. The service was provided not only on the day of the wedding but throughout the process. We met with Kelly and Debra a few weeks before the wedding to iron out final details, and they were more than willing to talk with us and give us a comfort level that all would be great at our reception. They allowed us to give a few items to them the day before the wedding, allowing for less stress on the day of. Monteverde also helped to incorporate decor that we had to their food stations, which they took and put up for us. I don't think my husband, our families and I could say enough great things about Monteverde Catering. I would recommend them to anyone without a doubt. They will help to make your day perfect (if there is such a thing). Thank you so much, Monteverde!

Monteverde's was an amazing caterer. They delivered on everything and if you have a choice pick the cheesecakes made by Kelly for dessert, they are fantastic! We loved the service they provided and so glad we picked them, they made our wedding day run very smoothly.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Monteverdes. From the minute we met Deb and Kelly we knew that we loved them--we didn't even need to meet any other caterers. They were incredibly helpful throughout the whole wedding planning process and always so so pleasant. We got a TON of compliments on how good the food was and it was all presented so nicely. Monteverdes went above and beyond in every aspect. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

The family that runs this business was wonderful! The mother and daughter were there for me every step of the way. They gave me and my fiance a wonderful taste testing. Their price was worth every penny because their food is delicious.

We had Monteverde cater our wedding at the Mayernik Center and was very happy with not only the food, but the exceptional waitstaff as well. If you're looking for quality food at an affordable budget, this is your place.

This is a mother daughter duo that truly knows their stuff!!! Their food is amazing and portion sizes are not stingy. They went above and beyond for me, so much so that they dug their christmas twinkle lights out of their attic because I really wanted them under the bridal table, but couldn't find them anywhere in July! Their service was wonderful and they were so enjoyable to work with! I highly recommend them!!!

Not only was the family great to work with but the food was excellent! None of the food was overcooked and we definitely did not run out. We were even given the leftovers which we enjoyed again the next day. We were having a baseball themed wedding and they even came up with the idea of folding the napkins in the shape of home plate.

Food was absolutely amazing and so was the staff. I really enjoyed working with them. My guests are still talking about the food!!

Excellent Wonderful People and Food. As soon as i walked into Monteverde's for my tasting i knew i wanted to use them even before i tasted the food. Deby and her daughter were just so nice and down to earth people i knew these were the people i wanted for my wedding becaused they cared and showed it. I knew they would be great and they were everyone loved the food it was excellent. These people went out of there way when i forgot to take the leftovers out of the refrigerator and my cake they wrapped it all up and froze it for me because they knew we were leaving for a honeymoon monday morning. I would Definetley use Monteverdes again. Fantastic Food And Excellent service

Words can't describe how happy my husband and I are to have used Moteverde's as our caterer! They treated us as if we were a part of their family! They are so friendly and they are there for you with whatever you need, even if its marriage advice! They are amazing people and truly love what they do! Everyone loved our food at our wedding!

Kelly and Debbie Monteverde were wonderful. They were attentive, friendly, professional and fun. I never had to wait for a response and not once did I see them without a smile. I cannot say enough about their service and the Food was wonderful too! When my husband and I first started reviewing caterer’s their menu was one of the first that caught our eye. There are the normal “stuffed chicken” and “Roast Beef” but there were also a few non-traditional things like a seafood medley in pastry and some very original beef dish. We decided to call and make an appointment. I contacted Debbie with some questions and received a response the same day. They were very flexible with our schedules (neither of us could arrive until late evening) and they offered for us to bring as many people as we wanted. I had told them that we wanted something different and that we were open to anything but I eventually chose 3 dishes to try because I thought everyone would enjoy them. When we first arrived the office threw us off a bit, we had to walk through the kitchen and were seated at a small table in their office. We were a little cramped but they were very hospitable, and the smell was amazing! I realized later that it was a good thing to walk through their kitchen, they had nothing to hide, the facility was very very clean. Debbie and her daughter Kelley started to serve us dinner, they had told us to bring an appetite but I didn’t know I needed a whole other stomach. There was so much food. Not only did they prepare the 3 dishes that I had requested but they added another three or four items that they thought I might like to try. The food was amazing. The chicken was moist, the puffed pastry was fluffy, their sauce so flavorful. In the end they ended up changing my mind and I went with one of the options they chose. And afterwards they packed up the leftovers and sent them home with us. We had lunch and dinner the next day! When the wedding did roll around the set up was perfect. Everyone in the buffet line was attentive and welcoming. The food was great, and we are still getting compliments. The staff dismissed each table with ease and afterwards cleared each just as quickly, they also offered to box up the leftovers for us. Our cake was cut and served quickly and the clean up seemed to happen without me noticing. I did not have to worry once about anything and that was invaluable. My husband and I spoke to and tried other caterers but I never once regretted choosing Monteverde's!

Choice selection was excellent for the price paid. Debbie was great to work with. The food was delicious. Would use Monteverde's again for another occasion.

The food was excellent and moderately priced. However in true western Pennsylvania tradition I had cookies at my wedding along with cake. We have over 200 dozen cookies made by close family and friends. They didn't put enough out or keep them coming. There were multiple times that the cookie trays were empty and some of the guest were upset that their cookies were not displayed. They were also asked by myself, my maid of honor and the groom to put out more cookies and were not listened to by any of us. So the food was really good, but if you are doing cookies or anything out of the ordinary make sure they now what you want and agree to it.

NOt only were the prices the best we found, but the food was BEYOND delicious. I got so many compliments about how great the food was!!

This vendor was great to work with. We went for a tasting and they sent us home with boxes of food. They created a menu just for us, with an amazing price per person. They had plenty of servers lots of food. We are still recieving complements on the menu we chose. People were asking if they have a resturant they could go to! Linens were also included in the price, although we just used as underlays and napkins and had our own linens. The tables looked great! Very easy to work with and helpful. Wasnt able to put in a lower cost per head put ours was under $15 per person and included to entrees, several sides, salads, rolls coffee and tea, linens, china and glas, servers and much more. They even decorated the buffet table with fall floral displays, a very nice suprise. Because I did not even think of it.
