I cannot get over how perfect our wedding was here. From the beautiful scenery to the laid back party vibe, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Jim, the owner, is so incredibly flexible. He genuinely wants you to have the perfect day and isn't pushy or uptight which we really appreciated. He will pretty much let you do whatever your little heart desires as long as you respect his property (he was totally cool with this surprise my dad had for me - fireworks!). We lucked out with the weather and had a PERFECT day with blue skies in September, but he does have a pretty solid back-up plan in case it rains on your day. I will say that, because the winery is not solely a wedding venue, it can be hard to schedule meetings & such because he is pretty busy, but I think he was very prompt in responding to us and did all he could to help out. The winery was open to the public on our wedding day, but that posed no issues for us setting up and whatnot. Same with the rehearsal the night before. We did pay a little extra to have them close the winery an hour early because the sun starts setting early in September and we wanted good sunlight for the ceremony. We're glad we did it though. His team was very helpful the day of and very accommodating (they made their famous pizzas for our hor d'oeuvres and then again late at night for snacks for our guests). The bartender was also amazing. The only thing that could have been more helpful is if they had a wedding coordinator for the day of, which he had said he was considering hiring but never did. I do think that would be a good idea for weddings being held here, however, our day was perfect without one and his staff helped us out tremendously. Our pictures were unlike anything we could have imagined with that scenery. Highly recommend this place! Thank you Jim!!
Moon Dancer Winery is a perfect, picturesque wedding venue tucked away in Wrightsville. The views of the vineyard & the Susquehanna river really make for an ideal wedding venue. Judy, the wedding coordinator, is fabulous to work with and she is very responsive! Jim, the owner, is very friendly and flexible. Moon Dancer staff provided us with corks a year prior to our wedding for us to use for guest favors and other wedding-related projects. Our wedding day was beautiful and it was everything that we could ask for - we are so fortunate we found Moon Dancer as our venue early on in our wedding planning process! Thank you!
I loved our wedding at Moon dancer Winery. Everything turned out perfect and I couldn't have asked for anything better. The setting was beautiful and everyone had a great time. We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding and reception and wanted a place that would accommodate us if it rained. The pictures at the winery turned out amazing!!
After our initial deposit, we didn't hear from Jim (the owner) for weeks (months at times). I decided to reach out about some info. Originally he told us he'd be sending us additional information, but that never happened. On the many occasions that I emailed (and called), he rarely responded on the first attempt. It was very frustrating trying to plan a wedding without much contact from him. A new law was supposed to pass a few weeks before our wedding that he'd be able to have beer at the establishment, and we were told we couldn't buy it anywhere but there. So we counted on that. About a few days before our wedding, he emailed me saying he wasn't able to get beer and we'd have to be responsible for it. Let me say it again, a few days before the wedding (and he emailed! Instead of called). As if I didn't have enough things to stress about already, that just added to it. My then fiancée was so awesome that he ran out that night and got a bunch of cases of beer.
On our wedding day, It was probably the hottest day of the year, so we had to provide our guests some industrial fans for outdoors. We knew we would be in charge of that should we need it. However, we went there the night before for our rehearsal and noticed the A/C wasn't working inside for the bridal and groom rooms, but we were told they just hadn't been turned on. Well... on our wedding day, they just didn't work (I'm pretty sure it was on the night before but they didn't want to deal with it). We were told it was too hot that day and the units couldn't handle it. They didn't provide any fans, ask if we needed anything or do anything at all to accommodate our bridal party and it was 90+ degrees upstairs ( I'm not exaggerating on that part). It was miserable. Our caterer came up and was giving us waters and found a fan for us. Jim was away that weekend, so he had his worker Stacy there. She wasn't helpful either. We complained about the lack of A/C but nothing ever came of it. I never heard from him or them again after our wedding.
I've never dealt with anyone so laid back in my life. Though the location was very beautiful, it was very stressful dealing with him when I needed an answer on anything related to Moon Dancer. The only stressful part of the wedding was mostly dealing with them. So, if you choose this place, your pictures WILL be gorgeous, but you will be stressed dealing with him.
Some advice for Moon Dancer - If you are going to run a business that hosts weddings, you may want to consider hiring a wedding assistant.

We had a hard time trying to find a venue for the Ceremony and Reception. As soon as we met the owner and saw his place we knew we could stop looking. He was so down to earth and helpful. Our day was so special, like a fairy tale. This place made our pictures so pretty.
We had our reception at Moon Dancer in September and it was the BEST day of our lives. The weather (we lucked out) was gorgeous, the winery itself is breathtaking and then all of our vendors came together to make everything else enjoyable. We purchased personalized wine glasses for our favors from Moon Dancer, which were VERY reasonable. If you're one that needs constant communication, take a few breaths before booking Moon Dancer. Jim is the owner and he is only one person. Sometimes it takes a little while to hear from him, however whatever you need, he makes it happen and is there for you. The day of our reception, everything was exactly how we asked for it to be and then some!!! I couldn't have been more delighted and happy!
Amazing view- great night!!
My husband and I fell in love with this location on our second weekend of scouting. For a wedding of less than 60 guests, you can cosider indoor use. However, we had 100. With some creative design we transformed the side yard into a wonderful reception space, had cocktail hour on the patio and our ceremony on the outdoor stage with the backdrop of the Vineyard and Susquehanna River.
Our suggestions, get everything in writing, keep record of phone conversations, and don't be surprised if it takes the owner forever to respond.
Rental of the space did include tables and chairs.
Wish they had their own wedding coordinator would have made the process leading up to our wedding less stressful, as I planned our entire event and utilized a day of coordinator instead.
We also had the oppurtunity to purchase our wines from them, and are thankful for the leftovers. The blackberry and peach are a must have on any menu!
